Another year has passed and once again its time to look back and see how I have progressed in my 2012 goals, as well as looking ahead to new goals in the upcoming year.

1: Finish off KOF REDUX cast from 95-98: I am proud to say this is DONE! Not only have I done the entire KOF cast from every game up until 98, I think I only have a couple of characters left to finish up to KOF 2000! And that doesn't even include all the characters I have done out of order from even newer games in there series.

Since one of my goals for 2012 is to submit more original art and designs, I am going to try and do a new character sketch every night and post it up for you guys to check out. I do these on the fly with no pre-planning, so most of them have no story or background other than the crazy universe that resides within my imagination, so don't assume any of these characters belong in the same world. Looking back on 2011 things got pretty crazy for me. There were some misfortunes (I was laid off from my job), and there were some exciting new developments as well (I got a new job)!
When I take a peek at my 2011 resolutions, I hit two of my goals (better than nothing right :)). I was able to finish off the cast of KOF 94 in my REDUX series which makes me really happy, and I only have a couple of characters left to finish up KOF '95-'97 as well! How's everyone doing? So yeah funny story as to why I have been MIA on DA for well over 3 months now, I moved from the West to the East coast in September, and wouldn't you know it, some jackasses stole my work computer, my TV, and my PS3 from the moving companies truck! ..... -_- *sigh*

However, I finally got my insurance check from the movers, bought me a shiny new computer and I am back in action! Well after I re-install all my software, and import 100 gigs worth of my artwork and tutorials from my back up drive :), but the point is I can finally get back to doing some damn artwork!

I just wanted to say Happy New Years to everyone. Of course with a new year comes new resolutions ;). Here are some things I was thinking about for myself for 2011(hopefully SOME I can actually follow through on :D)

1. Start commissions up this year. I know a lot of you have been waiting for me to open up commissions and I have had to turn most if not everyone down because of time constraints and other obligations. I am looking to change that this year and at least get a rule set and rates posted for you guys so you can commission me for artwork if you wish to do so.

So I was quite happy and excited to see that my original stuff is getting some interest with you all, very encouraging results to see that the majority of you prefer it and would like to see more. It's not like I don't enjoy getting my fan art on, but I have always felt that as a generation of artists we are seriously lacking in the original idea department (or at least here in the states), and I think the onus needs to be put on us to start putting new stuff out there and testing the waters.

Just A little piece of advice from your pal DN to all those fan artists out there. If you are going to do fanart, really think hard before you use a game that hasn't been released yet. You will spend more time looking for reference images rather than doing the art :/.

Also I spent WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to long on that FF pic. I need to learn to curb the group shots ;).

So Yashiro just went up last night, and while I was working on him I started to feel a little KOF artist fatigue going on (which makes me sad). I think I have just run through most of my favorite characters and now I seem to be going through the paces just getting one done a week with waning interest. I was hoping KOF 12 was going to reinvigorate my interest in for working on this series..... but if you read my previous KOF 12 rant, I don't think that's gonna happen lol. So I picked up KOF 12 last night on a whim when I dropped by the local gamestop. A PS3 version.

I am going to say this straight up, because I really don't know how else to put it,

I AM VERY DISSAPOINTED IN THIS GAME :(.

Microsoft had their annual Japanese Xbox conference late last night and some interesting tidbits were announced. The most bizarre announcement was SNK walking up to the stage and announcing a top down SHMUP entitled 'The King of Fighters Sky Stage' starring KOF characters coming to XboxLive Arcade. The only picture they showed was of Kyo and Athena flying through the sky blasting baddies with their respective powers.
