Anyhoot, I'm still alive. I've been working real hard to finish demos and contests for Anime America. As much as I'd love to draw for you guys 24/7, my dreams are calling and I must meet them. Heres an Anime Ameriaca update:

Anime America Podcast episode 41:
In this episode, we review Soul Eater English Dub provided by Funimation.com. This is my favorite episode by far and actually starts a new format for the show. Basically, instead of going over an hour of news, reviews, cons etc., we'll just pick one topic and talk about it. Its less stressful on our part, its shorter, and surprisingly more fun for you guys. Just listen to 41 and see or "hear: for yourself.

Anime America Presents "The A-List":
This is our demo presentation of the A-List, a Top Ten List show revealing our picks of Animes Best and Worst. This first episode is Top Ten BEST Anime English Dubs. Yes.... there is such a thing. You can watch on iTunes, orlandotechaudio.com, or even on our account on YouTube. So far, we've had half of our comments agree with our list, and the other half bashing us for not listing "School Rumble" and "Inuyasha".... seriously?? All I'm seeing is those two names! Just to clear up something, Inuyasha was nominated because he dubbing was good, but not as good as the ones we chose. School Rumble.... as good as the actors were, we didn't really feel that the dubbing audio quality fit naturally to the characters. Good acting, bad blending. I had one commenter bashing us and titling our list as "invalid". No comment on this statement..... ((cough cough, nerd, cough cough)) Ahem.... Just watch the episode for yourself.

Second Annual Anime America AMV Contest:
We have received a lot of entries, but so far, no sponsors. We're working on it though. We'll have prizes for each winner one way or another. The contest will be ending exactly midnight on January 1st, 2010. December 31 11:59 pm is you last chance. ^_^ Good luck!



As for me in my life, everything is good. Had an Anime christmas party a couple of weeks ago. I invited all my friends to my place to watch Anime, eat delicious food, play good games, and open presents in a White Elephant game. It was so much fun!
My plans for christmas are as follow:
December 24th: As silly as this sounds, I'll be doing last minute shopping for my future Bro In-law. Its not that I forgot about him. Its more like I have such little paychecks and so many presents to buy and such. I just need one more present for him and I'm done. The I'll be making my way to EPCOT to see my sister and bro in-law. I haven't seen them since they moved to L.A. and I can't wait to see them! We'll be seeing my dad perform in the Candlelight Processional. Its a holiday show at EPCOT with christmas carols and a celebrity narrator telling the story of christmas. Last week, >_< I GOT TO SEE WHOOPI GOLDBERG!!! She was so good! Tomorrow, I'll be seeing Edward James Olmos! After the show, we'll be dining at Nine Dragons at EPCOT China. >_< I love their food! Hot and Sour soup, pork potstickers, Honey Sesame Chicken, yum yum yum!!!
December 25th: A day of opening presents, watching Christmas movies, and eating dinner with family.
December 26th: Work.... well at least its not a long day.
December 27th: My mommy's birthday! I still need to work, but I'll try to get off early and have a birthday dinner with her. I think we'll also be staying at the Yacht and Beach Club. That night. That makes it easier for the next day.
December 28th: I'll be taking Roxanne and her friends to Disneyworld and we'll be cosplaying. Photos are optional.... just kidding. I'll be filming everything!

Being a part of Anime America, we want to do what we can to get our name out in the open. Through Anime Sushi, we were able host our own panels at Mini-Megacon. On the first day, Saturday, we were to host a panel called, "How to Host a proper AMV that won't suck" and on the last day, Sunday, we were to host a panel called, "How to make your own Podcast".
Saturday, August 22, Brad and I made our way to the convention center. Jeremiah Bambauch, OTech's TV Production Teacher, opened a cosplay photo booth for any cosplayer wanting a professional shot of themselves. It was a sweet idea, but he couldn't afford a booth spot, so Anime Sushi said he could run his booth in the Anime events hallway. He was stationed right next to our panel.
As we were setting up, I took the liberty of advertising Mr. Bambauch's booth as well as do a little shopping. I returned in time to help the gang finish up the set-up. We finished 30 minutes early and I was having fun entertaining the audience we had before our presentation.
1 o clock, our panel started. We covered practically everything it takes to make a good AMV and a bad AMV. We were getting some laughs and applauses for our presentation. We showed some of the winning AMV's from our own AMV contest as well as mine and Sinny's award winning AMV's. Overall, we did a good job and you can actually watch it on our podcast when we're done editing it.
Now, we kinda ran a little late, so the guy right after us was waiting to set his panel up once we were finished. Guess who it was......

VIC MIGNOGNA!!! He was right after us!!! That kinda explained the increase in our crowd towards the end of our panel, but it all worked out. I congratulated him on getting the part of Deathscythe Spirit Albarn in Soul Eater and reminded him of my good luck charm I gave him. He thanked me for the charm and we high fived each other. haaaaa.... *_* Vic Mignogna gave me a high five.... He saw my Soul Eater merchandise and was sad that there were no Spirit merchandise in the con. I vowed that I would do my best to find him one! Vic fangirls! If you want to make Vic smile, find him a Spirit merchandise!

As things were getting good, the Megacon officials had to shut down Mr. Bambauchs photobooth. Why? Because they didn't know about Anime Sushi's deal and told us that he was violating the rules. Naturally we were confused, but this assured us more of Anime Sushi's dysfunctional crew. Not only did they mess up here, but they also screwed up our Podcast Panel. In the Megacon pamphlet, it said we were going to talk about 2D and 3D animation.... WTF?! We knew we wouldn't get the right crowd, and Mr.Bambauchs crew weren't going to show up for the panel anyways now that there booth was taken down, so we basically bailed and gave up our hour panel.

I felt a little sad, so I did a little more shopping before we went to lunch at the Cafe Tu Tu Tango. This restaurant is an artist pallet for the starving artist. You basically order appetizers galore and share them amongst your friends. Careful though. The bill runs up very fast and expensively. Brad wanted to pay for the inconvenience, but I wanted to pay for my share.

Brad and I returned to the con to chill for a little longer. He went to check out hotgirls, and I finished up my shopping. The announcer said Vic was signing autographs, so I checked in to see him... unexpectedly.... HE WAS ALL BY HIMSELF!!!! No fangirl mile long lines!!! He was alone! Keeping my promise, I ran everywhere to find him something with Spirit. The closest I could get was a Soul Eater emblem pin and a Dr. Stein pin. He was all like, "They have Stein, but no Spirit?" He began to cry just like Spirit does in the Anime and it was awesome!!!! I again congratulated him on his achievement and said I look forward to his performance. I had a nice conversation with him and it was incredible just to be with him! Take that fangirls!

So the shopping, the AMV panel, and being with Vic was good. Baubach's booth shut-down, our Podcast Panel cancellation, and Anime Sushi's disorganization was bad. It was somewhat of a good day. Below, you can check out the merchandise I purchased from AFO and MiniMegacon.

Heres how my weekend was at AFO:

FRIDAY:
Found a better way to take the bus to I-Drive from now on. For those of you who don't know what I-Drive is, its a BIG street that is a tourist trap and is where most of the conventions are hosted like Megacon. From Downtown Orlando, I can take the 38 and get to I-Drive in 20 minutes. Sweet! No longer will I have to suffer on the 8.

Anyhoot, I picked a good table right next to one of the only electric plug. I didn't feel bad since the other artists had pre-printed material. I tend to be more realistic and not print things people might not buy. I never know... for example, I made all those Soul Eater Chibi's thinking it was ingenius, but.... barely anyone bought copies. Out of all of my prints, one of the most popular ones was:

It was mainly Roxanne and the gang buying my stuff. TT_TT I love you guys!

I made the iChara couples in hopes pairing fans will buy. Some did. I even sold an iAmuto to two pretty Asians dressed as Amu and Ikuto. Score!
Around 7, I closed up shop to register at an event I was signed up for. It was Wasabi Anime's first annual Crossplay Rally Race. It was a mix of RuPauls Dragrace and a pageant. Its basically who can pull of the better opposite sex. I started out good as Zero Kiryu, but I was no good against Tamaki and Xemnas. I scored on the runway, but in the end, Xemnas won overall. I gotta hand it to her. She made one sexy Xemnas

Oh, as I was cosplaying Zero, I would call every Yuki cosplayer a whore... even you Roxanne. SHE IS A WHORE!!!
SATURDAY:
and I went shopping for more supplies little knowing we didn't need them. We invested in some Raveflops (Flipflops with glowsticks) so we could slap our designs on them and sell big!.... no such luck... we got small sizes thinking they were all one size fits all and no one bought. Oh well... sold a few things here and there and did some commission for two customers. One as you already saw:

It turned so good thanks to my figure reference. The other one.... I'm not sure I wanna show it. Well let me describe and let me remind you I will draw anything as long as I get paid.
She requested a drawing of SImba's Mother Sarabi from the Lion King with the Chicken Pox, brain dead, and carrying in her mouth a bloodied up T-Shirt that says I NY.
Yeah.... I'm actually proud that I could draw a lion. I'm not ashamed, but it is a bit disturbing.
Vic Mignogna was there as well and was such a gentleman as usual. I gave him so many gifts and he signed a button I made for him and me. ^_^ He says I'm very talented and loves my work. I'll tell you more on Sunday.
Eight o'Clock drew nearer and we were getting tired, so we went home.

SUNDAY:
I had my mom drop me off since couldn't make it. I ran the table and made more than I made Saturday. Overall, my sales weren't as good as Jacon 08, but it was decent.
My friends were telling that Vic Mignogna really wants the part of certain character from Soul Eater.... can you guess which one?

Thats right! Using the figure model on Cinema 4D, I can pose him in any pose I need for a drawing. You know those difficult poses where you can see it in your head, but you can't draw it? You need a reference to help you draw it out since you've never drawn it before. For example, I wanted to draw Dr.Stein on his chair in a frontal quarter view. Well... I failed miserably the first try, and so I needed a reference. I couldn't find the right picture with the angle I wanted for him, until I thought... "Hey. I got C4D. I can use the figure model." I posed the figure sitting on a chair like model similar to Dr.Stein and it worked! I was able to draw a successful chibi of Dr.Stein sitting on his chair the way he sits in it.

For those of you who wish to use the same method, but do not have C4D, you can always ask me to make any pose you need for a drawing. I'd be happy to help you out.

By god! I am getting so sick of watching these contestants on "I Survived a Japanes Gameshow".
Most of these contestants are smiling happy preps and jocks mocking the japanese culture.
Heres the thing. There are two teams: The Red Robots and the Green Monkeys. Whichever team wins, they get one hell of a prize. The losing team has to do chores or odd jobs around Japan.

It doesn't matter which team wins because most of them or sore winners and losers!
Todays episode is really pissing me off. The Green Monkeys win and they get to taste the best Sake and Beef Japan has to offer at the oldest Sake Brewery. HOLY CRAP!!! TAKE ME THERE!!! They're all like, "Well, its better than be the losers." UNGRATEFUL ASSHOLES! They don't deserve to be treated with such luxury.

The losers had to learn how to harvest seaweed. Come on! That sounds fun! They're all like, "This is so gross. I don't wanna touch this crap! Who needs this shit anyways?" KILL THEM NOW! One of hem chickened out because of sea sickness. BULL SHIT!

I want Cathy to win overall because shes a fair player and the other players underestimate her because shes a soccer mom. Well, shes been on the every winning team ever since this thing started. Seriously, the Green Monkeys won the first two games and when they tossed her away to even out both teams, the Red Robots won the next two games. Even in todays episode, to even out the team AGAIN they threw Cathy back and sure enough, Cathys team won! So... what does that tell you?! Cathy FTW and may the other players just give up and go home. They're mocking Japanese tradition for their own greed.

As for AFO... my trip is pending. Two reasons:
1. My Job:
Thanx to my schedulers, I may be working on that Friday and Saturday. I requested extra hours BEFORE AFO and sure enough, they may have granted more hours for me on that week! Jackasses....
2. My partner in the arts:
and I were planning on sharing a table and selling some of our work. With her current situation, AFO's guidelines, and the fact that we may not get a table, we're not sure we're gonna try to get one. If she really wants one, I will do what I can to get her the 3-Day Pass (apparently we need one to host a table) and the table as long as she sells some of my work. I would be there to help he out on Sunday since Disney should remember they approved my Dayoff that day.
I will try to enter the AMV contest, but I really don't think I'm gonna get anything. I'm still gonna try though. I just need to make sure I don't need a 3-Day pass cuz whats the point if I'm only gonna be there one day.
If I go to AFO, I hope to see some of you guys there.

Don't you worry. My Dad wasn't near the collision. For those of you who don't know what happened:
For one thing, you gotta watch the news dude. Its everywhere.
Seriously, there was a major collision between two monorails killing one of the Monorail Pilots. He was a young College Student my dad barely knew since they had different schedules. He basically made a careless move that ended his life.
This whole could have been prevented if:

1. The Monorails were up to date with the latest sensors. Disney is to cheap to invest in your safety.
2. The Boy was better trained. Disney Managers make sure each Pilot in Training passes no matter how bad their score is. Why? To save money on trainer fees and to bring in more pilots.
3. The coordinator was paying attention. Apparently, the coordinator in charge of training stepped out and wasn't at the Tower where he was SUPPOSED to be. This will cost him his job.

The more greedy these mangers and business people are, the more in danger the Cast Members AND the Guest are. The price for Disney to renovate an old attraction and such is usually one life. This basically means the playground where I work won't be fixed until somebody dies. Super...
Thats business I guess.

Okay, so my job at disney calls me up wondering if I could work more hours during the summer. I was like, "Sure. I could use the extra money for AFO and I can be available for crosstraining." I put in the request on Jun 25th 09 stating, "I am available to work during the summer, BUT ONLY UNTIL THE WEEK OF JULY 25TH. Yeah... I was approved the hours, BUT THEY SCHEDULED ME ON THE WEEK ON THE 25TH OF JULY!!!! WHAT THE HELL?!! THATS THE WEEK OF AFO!
Damnit.... that means I can only go on Sunday. I know I was approved the day off on that Sunday but was denied that Saturday. Before I was like, "I'll just Call-in on Saturday," but now its a different story.

I will do what I can to buy supplies for the table if we get one, but I can only help you out on that Sunday. I'm so sorry, but my job sux... I wanted to work a lot more before AFO, but I guess I've been denied... S

Soooooooooo...... the only events I really care about for AFO has no info on their website... Seriously! I was planning on getting a Table for Artist Alley and submitting my work for the AMV contest. So far, there is no information whatsoever for either and I'm getting impatient.

If I do get a table with , heres what I could bring to the table:

1. Photo print. I just found out my printer can print on photo paper. The reason why I didn't know is due to past experiences with our old printers... it was mess... so, I will be more than happy to print my work on Photo Paper.

2. Since my iChara's were so popular, I can sell sticker editions and key-chain sets. I can also combine the silhouettes in pairings like iAmuto, iTadamu, iKaimu, iKuutau, iNagerima, etc.

3. Soul Eater... ^_^ I love my Soul Eater. Thats why I want to work on a chibi collection for the main characters.

4. Vampire Knight will only be by commission. Why? Because they're hard to draw and I'm getting upset with the story... very upset...

5. If you are going to AFO, I can take your commission requests now. I will be taking commissions because its good practice and its good resource.

6. I will try to do what I did last year and provide Keychains, Stickers, and 4x6 frames.

7. I will try to finish the latest Shugo Chara Comic I am working on for the convention. I'll do what I can to sell copies of the comic.

That should do for now. Even though I'm still in my Art Slump, I'll do what I can to provide some good art.

So Farrah Fawcett finally rests in peace after a long and terrible struggle with cancer then all of the sudden....

BAM! MICHAEL JACKSON IS DEAD?!!!

I don't believe it! Nobody saw this coming! There I was playing games with Ana and Kenny at his place when my Dad called and said at first, "Michael Jacksons being rushed to the Hospital possibly dying...." wait what?! Then around ten minutes later they confirmed the King of Pop is dead! I still can't believe it. This came out of nowhere!

I feel bad for Fawcett now. Afterall, she struggled hard and we all knew she was dying. She finally rests in peace and we are all grieving for her and then out of nowhere everyone is shocked to hear about Michael. This just goes to show that you never know whats gonna happen in life.

I hope Fawcetts and Jacksons family well as both families have suffered as huge loss. It feels weird ya know. Eventually, when we get older, we'll be seeing our icons dying one by one. Seeing my dad so sad is making me really sad. Jackson was one of his greatest idols.

May Michael and Farrah rest in peace.

"I may not be able to not not-pick an Anime Idol, but I sure can not-pick an AMV. Alot of the award winners were just boring. The honorable mentions & not-quite-award-winning ones were, IMO, the best ones they showed. I think my fav was the Circus one, ’cause it actually had somethig to do with the song. And I dunno whatthe judges were thinking when they picked this mediocre One Piece vid set to a PotC3 trailer as the best parody vid when they had an even better one in a Death Note vid set to the Dark Knight trailer…>.>"

This was my first trip to Metrocon. It wasn't bad. Me and Brad took a trip down to Tampa to see what it was like and I have to say I was very impressed. The vendors were well stocked with wonderful merchandise. There were so many new things like Vampire Knight, Shugo Chara, and even Soul Eater. Check out this neat collection I bought:

They were pricey, but worth it. They were so cool to look at and they're very well made. Plus, I can study their poses.
As some of you may know, I entered three videos to their AMV contest; Kidnap the Father, Kaleido Circus, and Yuki's Colors. Well, heres how the event turned out:
First off, the event was held thirty minutes late due to some technical difficulties. The lady hosting this event didn't know how to handle the equipment.
At first , I was very impressed as to how they set-up the event. The room was huge, there were two bigscreens, and the lighting was interesting. Still, it seemed weird how they turned the lights off immediately once we all entered the room. It was very hard to see anything in there.
Since the event was held late, we didn't get to see much of the AMV's. Still, she did show some that were nice, but didn't get any prize. Naturally, one of them was mine and to my surprise, it was Kaleido Circus. I've been getting so much positive feedback about my technical abilities, I found it surprising how it didn't get anything. After the first four AMV's, she went on to the Judges Favorites. There were four Judges Favorites and out of four of them, the third one was mine. Great... which one was the favorite?.... KIDNAP THE FATHER?! How could that have not received a higher award? And after the video ended, she said it was quite disturbing. Thats the point of the video! She pissed me off....
Yuki's didn't get recognized as well. By looking at the top winning AMV's, I have to say these judges are hard to impress. By that I mean the winning AMV's didn't really impress me at all. Its only my opinion though. Later on, I'll give you the link to each Video once their posted and you all can judge them yourself.
The whole event was really getting on my nerves because the hostess didn't know how to play some of the videos. Apparently that "technical difficulty" that delayed us was because of some logo box she was working on to play along side with the AMV's... WHO CARES?! Just show the damn videos! Not only was that annoying, she accidently pressed stop on one of the videos and we had to watch the damn thing all over again... waste of time. She couldn't even fast forward through them! By god they were so technically insufficient, it made me sick.
Overall with the event delayed due to "technical difficulties", Kidnap the Father's slap in the face, and the constant screw ups, this was the most awkward AMV contest ever. I am happy to receive an award, but compared to the other winning AMV's, I felt I deserved better. Yes, I'm that confident in my work.

Still, Metrocon was pretty fun. I got to hang out with some of my friends, did window shopping for Kenny over the fun (>_< That was funny!), and got some cool figurines. I'll be attending AFO this year for an art table and I can't wait! I hope to see you all there.
