Yeah, camp this year is so way not as cool as it was the year before last.

I mean like totally. the insects are so much more predominant and my spine makes me one of them.

When we play flag football my team consists of silverfish and cockroaches.

Had an old man come up to me tonight.
He's an old artist from way before any of us lil shits can fathom.
Guy wanted to know if I could find some blow up dolls for cheap that he could cut up for their faces. Didn't want the whole dolls just their open mouth visage waiting in plastic for a cock.

Anyway. I ran through my production mind. Where exactly I could procure something like this used or discounted. Told him we could make these faces he needed through casting of plastics and what not.

I have a slew of newcomers for db.

Basically, I've been shooting stuff with my Sister.

There are at least two artists who have some really nice series to offer up to our community. One with twinkies and the other created a living doll of herself starting with encasement and ending with amazement.

There are a ton of others who have found fishnets over their faces and though this may seem a bit primitive to our community, these are offerings none the less for to take unto granted.

Have been on the verge of shooting of Siftus db pics for all the collective.

We are building here even if you cannot see it.

Okay, first off I'll be your filthy guide and moderator.
Just a sick lil bastard writer/artist from Columbus, Ohio.

For years a strange fascination with alternative fashion has haunted my psyche. Lets just say its a fetish for the evolution of identity through the use of stockings, pantyhose, tights, and similar materials. It ranges from dark/creepy to fun/silly and really there's no boundary for the type of images one can produce.

Started this group on a whim and it snowballed for quite awhile drawing in all kinds of creative people from across the globe. There were amateur artists just bored and looking for something to do as well as professional photographers interested in new challenges.

Eventually we simply moved on.

But guess what.
Its back.

This is an ongoing collection of portraits and self portraits
by myself and many other people. The images can end up ranging from hilarious to terrifying, though regardless it's always a fun shoot.

The idea is to redefine one's facial characteristics into a new identity using what I jokingly refer to as "anti-makeup". The anti-makeup consists of a stocking, pantyhose, tights or a knee-high over the subject's head and face. Very much like a bank robber, except that the goal isn't to hide your face, but evolve it.

Distorted Beauty is community focused on aspects of identity, sexuality, and neofashion. We are playful, yet concerned with the growth and realizations of each member.

If you want to join, send note saying so.
Be expected to submit portraits or self portraits with the subject wearing stockings/pantyhose/tights over their face to evolve one's features into something completely new.

We will not post you as an official member until you have work in the db gallery.

Occasionally someone decides to use alternative masking materials and is encouraged as long as you are recreating your identity to fit your emotinal output.

Some of the posts are sensual in nature, which is fine. Sexuality is a valid expression, though I won't post porn so don't fucking submit porn.
There are minors amongst us on DA and this should be respected. This especially applies to minors who are members, do not expect me to post anything adult in nature from you. This is an all ages fine arts site and will remain so with respect to Deviant Arts rules. With this said, DO NOT post any of the works from DistortedBeauty on any other site with acception to favs in Deviant Art or mentions in DA journals.

Submissions are preferred first posted on your own da page and then having noted me of the post. This gives your fans an introduction and we shall now encourage people to fav your shit from it's original post as other communities ( )have done.

Submissions are also accepted by email (siftus@gmail.com or other pertinent admins) with the title saying something about db. All of the normal DA criteria can be filled in by you if you don't want my dumbass deciding what your keywords/titles/descriptions all are. Include them in your email/note if you want specific information posted. Sure, I'll do the work if you want though you'll always have a better explanation of your own work than I will.

I've recently been warned explicitly that our community will be banned and purged from DA if changes are not made here.

Well here, I'll let

explain it the way it was explained to me.

Your gallery has recently been called to our attention, and while we are at the understanding that everything here has been posted with permission from the original artists, your descriptions and front page are lacking in the permissions department.

So we're going to ask to meet at a happy medium: We're giving you two weeks to collect and display proper permissions on your submissions. This can be done in one of two ways:

Copy and paste a note from the original owner into the description of each of the pieces that they have submitted stating plainly that they give permission for this piece to be posted on this account;

or

Have the original owner of the work leave a comment in the deviation comments section of each of the pieces that they have submitted stating plainly that they give permission for the piece to be posted on this account.

Failure to comply will result in the purging and banning of this account.

Before DA revised, there was a permissions section in posting. When they removed this function it left no logical solution to replace permissions, I suppose above are listed the new options.

Welcome to our world where the ideal is modified far beyond typical into a new way of seeing and existing. Using matter to discover a new aesthetic on the outside and uncover emotions within ourselves.

Anyone is welcome to contribute anything db focused if you like. Remember the only stipulation is to use hose as a tool for evolution of your identity. Exploring and experimenting is key.

For now we have no true topic, only creativity.
