But yes here we go with an update! I'm sick. Thursday and Friday I was miserable with extreme cold symptoms. I slept a lot yesterday and last night. Which is to my benefit, because while I went to bed feeling like crap I woke up today feeling far less like crap. I'm now out of the woods yet, but at least my waking hours will not be spent wishing I was unconscious rather than endure my condition.

Because of my procrastination and then illness I missed the deadline to a group I wanted to join on DA that would have been super cool but not joining may be for the best. Because that means that I can do bookmarks and other art without remorse!

On that note I have revised the prices of my bookmarks because honestly I believe the quality I was able to achieve with them was above the worth of a dollar. Would you agree?

So new bookmark prices are:

Today I had the most fun and interesting lab ever in Microbiology! We got to use two different techniques for culture isolation.

The streak plate method where you use a sterilized loop to spread a bit of a mixed culture onto a petri dish's layer of nutrient agar. Then after successive sterilizations of the loop and spreading from the last area onto a new part of the agar the goal is to get the bacteria isolated on their lonesome so when they multiply into little colonies it is a pure culture. Meaning just one kind of microorganism.

The second one we did was the pour plate method where it uses dilution to isolate the bacteria. You have the test tube of mixed culture then three tubes of the nutrient agar heated so it is not yet solid. You use the loop to transfer just a bit of the mixed culture from its test tube to tube #1. Then you swish it to mix and sterilize the loop. You repeat the process dipping from tube #1 to tube #2, sterilize loop, then dip twice from tube #2 to tube #3. Then you pour each tube of nutrient agar into a petri dish and see how they grow. Typically the #1 dish is unusable because there are so many microorganisms in it.

And the one I'm looking forward MOST to seeing next week is the special little dish we did at the end which is used to get bacteria from the environment. When you pour it you get the nutrient agar a little over the lip (like water it has surface tension so you can do this) and once it solidifies you can go touch it to something and see what grows. One person in my class touched a door handle, one person a computer mouse, I know one person went into the bathroom. Me? I licked it. Despite having beef bouillon and smelling a bit like beef broth it just tasted like gel, like unflavored chap stick.

So yeah! I can't wait to go back next week and see how everything's grown! Also next week's lab has us making our own slides and staining them for viewing under a microscope! GLEE!

I had a fiasco with poorly written instructiosn and the consequensial loss of all things I had placed in a cabinent and labeled with my name. Amazingly I lost far less than I had expected, nothing vital, mostly stuff I had taken from a roomie that was leaving it all behind. Same roomie that told me it was okay to leave the stuff, I should have known better than to trust her really. Live and learn.

My biggest stressor at the moment is that my laptop crashed and crashed HARD. It's currently in the possession of the campus tech team. The initial estimate of damage is that my laptop is having a software/hardware conflict. Something to do with drivers. Anyways, the guy I talked to said that it should be fixable, they might just have to remove all my Norton stuff and replace it with a free program that they like better. Hey if it gets my laptop through the semester I'm all for. I'll be getting a new one by the tiem I go to school again anyways. Estimate for the time it'll take is two days if they are really busy. I can't really complain about that.

Tomorrow is the first day of classes. I have a two-hour lab for my Biology of a Microbe class. Likely I will nto be there the whole time seeing as it is the first class and we really have nothing to do in the lab. I hope that I get my lappy back before I start needing to complete assignments and such.

EDIT: Well I just checked my email and my lab was canceled tomorrow! So I get an extra day of do-nothing and preparing. I think I'll read more of my Microbiology textbook, this thing is freakin' awesome!

Also the results of my most recent poll is heartening and I can use my extra day to start on some of these. Hopefully I'll be able to put up examples soon. :3

Travel journal time: Leaving 6 am Monday morning September 7th and the around 800 mile trip typically takes 12 hours to complete. However I'm getting a ride from someone new today, and I've heard of people making it there in 10 miles. If I'm zonked out the whole way I wont' know if he's speeding or not.

I'm sniffling and coughing and I certainly hope I'm not actually sick because that would SUCK.

Classes start Thursday.

First is this talented fellow. I came across him while doing a 'guyver' search on DA and found his awesome Windclaw comic!
Here we have some Windclaw art! You can see why I like his style, the poses show movement and his skills with armor are most enviable.
He is also quite skilled in the making of 3D animation movies, they are fun and impressive to watch!
This is a good actiony page from the original pages of the Windclaw comic that I first read. God flow of motion and I still really like that armor!

Second is the man with talent and wit to spare! I can't remember exactly how we met up but I'm fairly certain it was on DA and probably with me finding his gallery and feeling quite impressed to look at it all.
This is a prime example of previously praised wit. When he mocks things so well like this I giggle.
I must mention this sweet little comic that Mr. Bug entered into and then won my birthday contest a while back. He portrayed my character Random SO WELL! I still have glee whenever I look at this.

Uhm, finals are done, I'm finishing up a last bit of packing then cleaning.I'm really hungry but eating means a mess. I better not be charged the ridiculous amounts listed on the check-out sheet because I made the stuff I was assigned to clean look better or at least as good as when I moved in. Its not my fault that this place is old and crappy and the people before us hardly cleaned!!!

I get picked up soon and then I get a ride to Yakima, spend the night, my ride goes to a wedding in the morning, hang out Saturday, then leave Sunday morning to head home. I don't usually sleep in car rides but I am so SO going to sleep in this one. And probably have my neck kill me for it. But that's okay, because once I'm home my Dad can crack my neck and back and I have a friend waiting with a promise to come over and give me a back rub X3 Oooooh back rubs, how I hath missed thee.

So yeah. Those of you with my number feel free to text me, and I'll text back and give updates of my traveling condition. I may or may not have internet access while staying over in Spokane, if I do see you then, if I don't see you later.

(Whoa this stayed even after I lost internet and was all sad and shut off my lappy for the trip!

Since then I've been on the road and arrived to my Ride's Sister's house in Spokane around 5:30-6. I went to bed early because all I wanted to do was be horizontal and comfortable, and the bed they let me use sure is comfortable, mmmm. I slept for like thirteen hours. I am now really really sore from all the cleaning and lack of sleep and hauling tones that must have weighted close to what I do up stairs but its bearable, and I might just go back to sleeps!)

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

I actually didn't get shot, I ran up the hill straight on which was freakin' HARD but that also meant the little buggers in the bunker didn't see me coming and I shot up at least three of them rather good. I was taking slow steps forward and a branch got between my ankles and tripped me. I just knelt and kept shooting because I was so done charging.

Oh look, a policeman pulled over someone in an inconvenient place, people have to enter the other lane to pass around them, oh well, no one's coming, pass and continue.

Thirty seconds later, stutter, stall, cut out. Oh no oh no oh NO! Please no!

The old truck won't start, people are piling up behind, then finally begin to file past. It's a rather unfortunate placement, thirty yards more and it would have been possible ot pull off into a little gravel place beside the road. But no, stalled out in a blind turn, ten thirty at night. Someone turns around and stops.

She said she noticed that there was a young woman in the stalled truck and wanted to ask if she was okay. The young woman responds that her father is on the way, and thank you. The woman suggests she turns on her hazards, but the young woman's dome light haven't worked for years and she cant' find the hazard lights in her dim cab illuminated only by the headlights of impatient drivers behind and her cellphone.

The woman leaves and its several more minutes, with some honking and a lot of passing, the young woman learns that trying to start her engine, as futile as it is, is a good way to get people to realize they need to pass.

Another car turns around to come and question, it's a family, Mom and Dad and kids in the back. They ask the same, then after explaining that her Dad's on the way, the man says "We'll go get the cop around the corner." She wanted to say that wasn't necessary, but they drive off too quickly. Now she sits in trepidation, more passing and waiting.

Then the second car returns, flashing hazards behind the stalled truck, and behind that vehicle the young woman can see flashing blue and red lights. Oh great....

But even though she doesn't want to bother the cop, she realizes that he's set a flare, now people can see in advance and helping is what policemen are meant to do.

Oh but how relieved she is when she sees another vehicle backing in in front of her, she recognizes her father's license plate.

The young woman is poised to apologize to her father as he gets out, gas can in hand, and she rolls her window down. She begins to apologize and it only takes the first hint of her father's rightful displeasure for her to break and start crying as he empties the contents of the little red gas can into her empty tank.

Then sucking it up, and under the coaching of both her father and the policeman, she pumps the gas then HALLELUJAH her engine turns over and runs, a glorious sound.

Her father apologizes to the policeman as well, and he says it is fine. In fact, he knew the young woman, because earlier while she worked she had served him his grab and go dinner and he was not at all put-out to help and only wished he could have been there sooner.

The young woman then drives away, following her father, they stop at a gas station to top off her tank, then onwards to home.

HA! HA HA! All your feeble attempts at assassination FAILED!

So yeah, home, safe, still need to unpack. But I'm HOME!

Typically the trip from school and home is 800 miles and 12 hours of driving. A winter storm warning was all over our roads and I think we had to detour. I fell asleep when I could manage it to make the time go by faster. We got home in 14-15 hours and for that ENTIRE TIME, I was packed into the back seat. They literally packed me in, so that if I wanted to get out they would have to unpack stuff to free me. I thought that was entirely too much effort and so, I did not get otu of my seat for the entire roadtrip.

I had my bedding packing around me so I was relatively comforable, but often too hot. And every time we swerved or turned enough the stuff piled next to me would slide over and I had even LESS room.

But my ride was very good at driving in the snow, I hardly felt worried at all even when there was several inches of snow on the road and the highway was lined with pulled over semi trucks. Also, buy I was mad at redeemed himself and I'm not mad at him anymore. Among the things he did, he took turns driving so that our ride could sleep and rest, and I didn't have to drive at all, another reason I stayed packed into the back. If I came out for a stretch they might have asked me to drive.

But boy oh BOY did I need to pee once I did get out! XD And I had to hold onto the car when I first got my legs straight for standing, it felt a little off XD


Whelp, that there by my update. Dunno how much internet I'll be getting for the rest of the day.

I'm glad that I'm home and alive, and I hope you are glad too!

I've completed my fall semester at school and since my track is Summer/Fall I'm going home for the winter, where I will stay until April. Whooooo.

Anyhoo, it's been snowing all night and there's supposed to be a foot of the white stuff by the time we start going over a pass. Why does it only have to snow good when I can't play in it and it might potentially keel me? I mean, come on...

I'm optimistic about my grades this year, I guess I'll report them to you bunch if you want. I don't know for sure if one's going to be an A- or a B+, so my greads could either be great or better. Sorry I'm bragging, but MAN I worked my tail off for school this time! While I had a part-time job to boot! You all have probably noticed my lack of new arts. I do apologice, I miss all your comments that I earn with new stuff XD

I've been thinking about putting up my Tegaki stuffs, should I just put up my best ones or all of them? Would anyone get mad if they had a Tegaki Flood from me in their Devwatches? Should I just put them up one a day? Your opinions are appreciated since you are the ones that I"m trying to please! XD

But yes, back to roadtrip. 800 miles and 12 hours, if the snow does not delay us. My Mom, being the wonderful Mom she is, told me to keep some gloves, a jacket, and blankets with me unpacked. Incase we are forced to sleep out the storm on the side of the road. Now I"m more paranoid than I would have been originally! But more prepared too. Oh! I feel like Burt Gummer! Okay, yay, now I feel better :3

Ah, if any of you are of the kind to, please pray that I have a safe trip. And that I don't kill another of th epassangers, who between asking me for the number of my ride and now managed to get me pissed off at him. I plan to sit in the back while he knatters unceasingly to the driver to keep her awake. I'll put on unplugged headphones if I need to, in order to keep him from talking to ME. The only reason I'm not completely upset he's coming is that if we get stuck in the snow, HE is going to be the one pushing.

I think that's all I have to report for now. Wish me a safe trip Gais! :3

I do not understand WHY, but a new tablet pen in $30 (which is like more than a third of my tablet set's total cost 0.o) And while I am willing to pay it because I can't really go one without one and I'm not waiting until christmas.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~Purpose for this Journal~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I would like to for the first time ask people to commission me. Seeing as I'm lacking a tablet pen they would be on paper; sketched, or inked, or colored in a few different options.

I have paypal and it would probably be best to get smaller commissions rather than larger so I can get them done quickly. But I do have a long shuttle/plane rides coming up for Thanksgiving break and then some free time at home. I would also accept snail mail if that is what you must do, but no checks because my bank is not in this area please.

I would have to figure out how mailing would go if people which the originals to be sent to them, but I can walk to the post office from where I live.

Also: Christmas is coming up, anyone want me to do a piece of art for a card? For a friend/loved one? Just throwing that idea out there!

Uhmmm... anything else? I've had my commissions up there for a while but this would be my first time for people taking me up on it! Also if my prices seem skewed for my ability level I would like to know.

Well school is doing alright, I'm not dead yet XD But having a job on campus while doing full school is a bit of a juggling act for time. I can't procrastinate as well as I have before!

My hardest class is Guitar DX When it's the day of the solo and the teacher says 'I know this song is too hard for you to learn' I get a little angsty. But other than a few individuals, most people suck the same amount I do!

Also! Yesterday, I won a bid on a Refurbished 40 GB ipod! I've never had an ipod before! I'm so excited! I won it for $117.50 XD I had been in a minute-to-minute bidding war with someone else for a bit, then it reached Master Chief's number and I was thinking 'oohhhhh, he better not mess that up!' and he didn't! XD I was left along for like the last ten minutes and will be enjoying the spoils of the bid war in 5-7 business days!

I've had itunes for a while XD So now I can aske for itunes for Xmas! :3 I don't really know what else I want... Funny how when you are little you can think up ALL SORTS of stuff you want but as you get older, it gets harder..

No art updates this time folks, I just wanted to share what my unconcious dreaming mind came up with this morning.

Well, it started with baby turtles. I was watching them hatch, I wanted to help them like the proffessional lady next to me but she said I couldn't touch. I know baby seaturtles have a lot of predators, so when a seagull came over to eat them I actually grabbed the sucker, folded its neck so it snapped, and chucked it into the water. 0.0 Next scen is me swimming after one of the babies still near the shore. There's some voice telling me about how some stay close, some go deep, some go deeper... and deeper... and scen change. Now I'm walking in shallows with something that looks like a cross between a Kabuto from Pokemon and a Horseshoe crap. Apparently some people brought these ancient things to life and they're in a park. (Jurrasic Park anyone?) Anyways the next part is like form an educational video. It shows a MASSIVE one, like size of a TRex in a forest. There's some Narrarator talking about how amazing and unique these creatures are. They are some (word I can't remember) but it means that they absorb energy along with eating. So all the creatures in the part they removed their teeth so they would be safe, they absorb energy from the plantlife instead. So I see one knocking down a tree with its tail, and then absorbing the energy (which you can see it doing because there is an ourward ring of greenish light that went up the tree, then slowed, then came back fast to the creature and it glowed for a second), the downed tree goes ash grey. But next scene shows it infront of a sickly tree, it does the energy ring again this time it surrounds the entire area, then it returned and instead of going into the creature it goes up the tree, which gets better and grows foliage.

Anyways, I go into the museum and am talking to some guy on the balcony, then suddenly a long sticky tongue comes outta nowhere and wraps aroudn him, dragging him towards the edge. He shouts something like "H-how can this be? One with teeth?!" And indeed it is a long-necked one of the creatures. I remember the phrase in my head 'he was halfway down its throat and then he started screaming' as I turned to flee into the museum. I was on a top floor, and in the center area down below I hear a lot of screaming and chaos, more of the creatures are apparently hungry for more than energy. Next part is not as easily remembered... tehre's a lot of running around and people dying left and right. The creatures react to movement, and you know how stupid people are, they run and attract its attention, which makes surviving for us smart people a lot easier. Somehow I'm starting to run and survive with some guy that wears glasses and we keep running around the place that now looks like a cross between a highschool and a warehouse. He and I dodge stuff, see other people dying. At one point there's a creature and we stop right behidn something not big enough to keep us from view and freeze. It's one of those moments where you are like "There is NO way out of this, we are going to die, I want to wake up now, I know I'm going to die." But then the guy's sister, who I did not know was with us at the time, comes out and distracts the beast. Somehow she actually takes it, dies in the process, but from her we learn that a really annoying kind of music somehow subdues them.

So from there we get into like an ambulance and drive aroudn the school, we do not run into anymore of the creatures, we figure it is because everyone else inside has already been eaten and they moved outside to get those that ran. We circled the inside several times and we realized there was no good way to get down in a vehicle. So somehow, SOMEHOW, when we found stairs, he lifted up the ambulance like a skirt and tip toed down the stairs. Now we were on ground floor and saw two other people. One was the original Principal it felt like, the other was her replacement. The women did not really like eachother but y'know, anything to help you survive. The original pricipale who I imagined a little like Reba had bandages, it was then I remember that before she was replaced there was shattering glass infront of her. The replacement one had dark hair, bronzed skin and was taller. They eyed us like they did not know if we could be trusted, but then we opened the door for them and we all exited. Now outside we looked all around from inside the ambulance, the two princiapals found their own vehicles and we drove tothe road leading out, which other people in vehicles were at, waiting to get onto the main road. (Why the HECK there was still traffic I has no idea) But we get into the line and after a bit I get attacked. It's another human but he acts like the creatures from before, so he's trying to eat me. We're on a grassy hill next to the street that intersects into the main one. Whelp, I survived my trip with surprisingly little distraction. I read on manga, and that was it. Otherwise, I just talked to Riley four ten hours straight XD I think I made a new friend! And he said he could do the same at Christmas again.

He's flying up to Alaska today, you be safe Buddy!

Any-hoo, I is home and working and going camping later this week, so I probably won't get to doing drawing-type thingies for another week, but never fear I shall do it eventually! /lame

Bah, I was so happy to get my job back for monies then it's finally sunk in that I have to go back to MCDONALDS... It's only for six hours today vs. the ten I used to do, so that's a little better. And I had to sew two buttons back on my shirt 'cause the cheap job came off! >( Good thing I know how to sew.

Whelp, that thar be my update. I'm going to try to not spend as many hours on computer this time while home, to both build better habits in moiself and to appease the parental units.

I gotta get ready for work now... T_T

Hello people who still pay attention to me!

Thought I'd give people who wanna know an idea of what's been going on.

Namely: I got smart and put school before pleasure..... for the most part.

Finals are killer, as always. Not to mention Whiteglove (cleancheck from /hell/) and packing up everything while still living in the space!

Today the guy that's giving me a ride back to washington helped me get the rest of my stuff into storage. He has a GMC Yukon, large vehicle, and the two other people two were going to ride with use canceled so with just two there's plenty of room! Any-hoo, I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon, stopping to sleep at his house on the couch some time in the wee hours of Saturday morning, and coming home in the afternoon of the same day.

I start work again on Monday, eeee... but I need monies! *determined pose*

So yeah, if no one hears from me for 24 hours, that be the reason. :3

Once I get home, I just have work, friends, and family to worry about, so I should be able to get back to arting. And oh, how I long for that. Another BIG thank-you to the people who I owe art and have been patient with me. Next time I'll be wiser, and choose a better time to engage in such an activity... Nyah...

1) I was born with my umbilical cord two and a half times around my neck, and I was blue. Explains a lot, doesn't it?
2) I forget which grade, but it was in Elementary school I... well, in PE I fell and grabbed for anything, and pulled another kid's pants down... it was an accident!
3) Oh, today in church some guy was hitting on all my room mates, and he kept putting his hand on my thigh. I know that's not really about me, but I don't know what to put! D:
4) I can repeat O'Mally's speech about 'Kill those fools!' on the spot and pretty darn well I think.
5) Oh jeez... doing this makes me realize just how uninteresting I am...
6) I aspire to be a voice actress, I've been told by many sources (including a recent stint in McDonalds Drivethrough) that I have a voice that's nice to listen to. Be it in cartoons, radio, or what have you. -- So if you would like some lines read, please give them to me! I love it a lot.
7) When I was seventeen I went on Trek, a four-day Pioneer reenactment complete with 800 lbs handcarts and the same kind of food. The women's pull was brutal, just the girls going up a long slope. (And our baby that was a bag of flour with a face died, so we had to bury him. RIP George.)
8) My first crush/love was when I was six, we were camping on the Oregon coast and I only knew him for a few days. His name was Hunter.... *sigh*

And I'll leave naming my own victums for a later date. (Don't get on my bad side XD)

Doodles is having a Contest!

Contest subject matter:

Anything you think will please me. :3

For those of you who want to get in on this and don't feel you know me that well, come talk to me! I love attention. I also adore Rping, so to get an idea of who to draw, snatch up a character of mine for a drawing, or heck, ask me a bit about their backstory or a scene I might like. Inside information is the win.

And then the easy way out: Draw my Doodlebot. I just developed her, I like her a lot, but heck if you think adding something would just rawk then go ahead! Help me with the design!

(Though note: Please do not submit the 'Colore-me Doodlebot' image as an entry. You can use it as a reference,but not the same image.)

My birthday is in about a month and a half, and I would like to put forth an idea. I want to do a contest, but I do not know who would enter, I'm not uber popular. And then there's the issue of a prize. Would art by me be enough, or should I offer a subsription as the prize? So... ideas?

The subject matter would be completely open ended, heck a sculpture could win! Erm... a song? I'm not musically skilled, but if that is what someone would like, even fanfiction I suppose! My small rant today si to vent some frustration, and I have not even started work yet!

Friday: I called and was told to come in the following Monday from eleven to three/four to learn how to open, do prep, and make meals. Pretty much an over-all crash course, right?

Monday: In the morning, somehow timed so that I was in the bathroom without my cellphone, the Manager calls and tells me that somethign came up, meetings and whatnot, so he rescheduled my first day of work for Wedensday from nine to noon. Good thing I checked my voice message right before walking otu the door!

Wedensday: I arrive fifteen minutes early, door's locked and there's no one inside. No biggy, seeing as I think they are actually open to the public at like eleven. But as nine rolls around I leave the relative warmth of my truck to walk around the building and occassionally check the door. I've called the Manager twice by the time it's nine-fifteen and the neon 'OPEN' sign is turned on.

Apparently, he is busy with meetings again all day and so he was going to have another employee Daliah train me. She said she would be in early, which means eight. I stayed there until nine-thirty-five and still no one came. So, the Manager told me I should coem back at noon and try again, working until four.

Any-hoo. We had the White Glove cleaning fest from HECK last night. From five to three in the morning, I have cuts on my hands that just accumilated as I went along, and since I had the floor in the kitchen it was me on my side and back for like two hours scrubbing underneath the counters and radiators to get all the corners, pulling the stove out and getting the cesspool behind it (cleaning the stove too) and squeezing into a tight spot next ot the radiator. Among other things. I should totally copy the checklist just to show you people the insanity. ESPECIALLY since we had to clean stuff that had been there for like two years or something!

We got an excellent by the way and earned ourself icecream. We chose blueberry, it was delicious.

I have a week crammed with finals until I head home. I actually am returning to Washignton via one of my room mates, then my parents will hop over to the other side of the state to pick me up and then I shall be home for three months! WHOO! I need to find a job! D: One that will pay nice and not mind having me for only three months... craaaap..

On another note the rest of my fished died, so I am not meant to care for any aquatic organisms... T-T I really wanted some fish. Maybe next time I'll choose better than feeder fish from Walmart.

I bought a pretty curling bamboo shoot though to ease my pain. I purposfully got something that would be difficult to kill, I can just water it and it should be fine. If it isn't, there is something seriously wrong with me.

Uhhh... anything else I want to say..? I haven't had a journal in a while...

Nope, I guess that's it. I'm pretty uninteresting! Lucky you! It makes for a short journal to read.
