I can't wait until tomorrow, not because it's a Saturday, but because the college that I want to go to is having an open house, and I'm going to go! : D I'm also going to bring my portfolio to have it reviewed, and I can't wait to hear what I need to improve on, so I can start working on that. I'm so excited!

On a smaller note, I've changed my dA icon for the first time in quite a while, and I'm proud to say that it's an icon I made myself. You can find that icon here, along with a few more that I made. (And yes, they're all of Konan, from Naruto.) I might be making more icons in the future, provided that I have time, and I may post links to them here, if anyone is interested.

What do you do when you loose inspiration? I really miss being able to draw...

I apologize for disappearing without so much as a note, but... time just seemed to fly by, and before I realized it, two months had already passed!
Yes, my summer has been that busy. My family and I have been painting several rooms in my house, both walls and floors, and my cousin from Croatia will be living with my family for the duration of this school year, or longer, because he will be attending the same junior college that I do....so it's bound to be interesting.
The family drama has just been....bleh, but that's to be expected, I guess.

I hope everyone else has had a good summer, and I hope to be more active in the future. I really do miss all of you.

I got a laptop yesterday! 8D
I've been spazzing about it, although I haven't had much time to use it since I was creating the recovery discs yesterday and I installed Corel Painter Essentials 3 and my tablet this morning...although that doesn't guarantee more artwork.
Until the week after next, at least.
School ends May 16th for me (supposedly), although I have a math final on the 14th, which I have to study for.

I went on a walk around my block yesterday, and there were tons of grasshoppers around.
So, naturally, I wanted to try to catch one.
And, naturally, grasshoppers, being the pesky little buggers they are, did not want to be caught.
And the worst part was that they would tease me. I'd creep up to one and slowly get my hands near it, careful not to cast a shadow or anything, and just as move to cover it quickly, the grasshopper would fly away, and I'd hear it land with a 'thunk'.
And then rinse and repeat. xD
But overall, it was fun and I nearly caught a few. The little teasers.

Today, however, was a different story.
I went to LaserQuest and got my ass kicked in two games. xD It was also fun, and everyone that was playing kept on ganging up on me in the second game!
So that's how it is, eh? xD

Other than that, there's not much going on these days. School still owns my life.
However, my Basic Drawing 1 class will be over on Tuesday, and my Music Fundamentals class ended on Thursday, which is nice. It makes these few weeks before school ends a bit more bearable.

Oh! I forgot to mention that I'm supposedly getting my braces off on Monday!
I can't wait! I've had them on for about two years.
In exchange for the braces, though, I'm getting two fixed retainers, and one removable upper retainer. I'm not complaining.
I bet it'll feel odd, though.

My college classes are over in the last week of April (supposedly), and my high school classes are over during the second week of May or something.
SWEET FREEDOM!

There's a ton of stuff I have to do before I achieve freedom, though.
I have a piano recital this Sunday, STAR Testing next week, and who-knows-what-else.
But I'll live.
I have the summer to look forward to, and the possibility of seeing my cousins again. (My cousins live in Europe, which is about halfway around the world from where I live.)
And, my older cousin, is applying to that Junior College I attend, and if he gets accepted and his dad agrees, he might be living with us! 8D That would be soooooooooo freaking awesome!
That makes me feel so good.


Anyway, a random thought I wanted to throw out there before I finish this journal:
If I accepted commision requests, would anyone actually commision me?
(This would most likely happen over the summer, if anyone is interested.)

Another thing that sorta bugs me is that I don't have a spring break from my college classes. So....although I have spring break next week, I'm still going to be busy. I hope to draw something halfway decent and complete a request or two next week, though, and sketch up a storm. 8D

Well, I'm feeling much better now, thanks to the awesome people on here that I'm honored to be able to call my friends. My inspiration is back...the only thing that is still missing is time to draw (stalk art on dA, talk on Messenger, etc.). D8

(Skip if you're sick of reading about stuff related to dA's new FairExposure system.)
Well, lately I've been hearing a lot of commotion about the new 'FairExposure' system that's been put into place by dA.
On one hand, it IS 'fairly exposing' art, since I see both artwork that has had a lot of work put into it alongside stuff (art and otherwise) that has little effort put into it, and some of it has even been stolen. (Remember that vulgar icon with the stick figure that was on the front page when FairExposure first went online?) But that isn't really 'fair', now, is it?
I don't mind having low quality art mixed in with the higher quality works, since otherwise, you'd never discover these budding artists, but there has to be a limit somewhere.
Whose definition of 'fair' are we going by, anyway?
I noticed that 'FairExposure' came around a little while after there was this whole 'fanart bashing' thing going around, since apparently many deviants were unhappy with fanart dominating the front page. (Yes, fanart was usually on the front page, but if you'd click on the ' Popular' section, fanart would only be one of many things on there.)
The only way you'd find fanart is if you were actively looking for it! If you looked for photography, paintings, and various other art forms, you'd find plenty of artworks in that medium!
Sure, it's a bit unfair that fanart of shows is poplular, and usually artists that do 'fanart' are more popular than those who don't, but that's just how it goes. Nobody ever said that life was fair, and even if they did say that, it wouldn't make it true.
If dA keeps on trying to please everyone, no one will be happy, least of all the people that created and run dA. A good fellow to everyone is a good friend to no one.*
(And now I'm going off into a slightly different direction: who judges what exactly is fanart? If you draw a tree, that could be considered a 'fanart' of a tree. If you draw an idea, it is a 'fanart' of the idea. Fanart, whatever kind you draw, is not bad. Many people get soooo much better at drawing, and yet all they've spent their time drawing is fanart. What is wrong with that, if you enjoy what you do?)

Anyway, if you dislike the new 'FairExposure' system, there's a petition that requests a reform of it that can be found here.

Well, there's my two cents. Do with it whatever you will.

My plant was shaking like it was possesed for a few seconds after the quake.(Rockin' and rollin' like nobody's buisness! xD) It was funny.(My plant shaking, not the earthquake.)

EDIT: I found out that the earthquake hit somewhere near San Jose, CA, with a magnitude of 5.6 and aftershocks that registered around 1.4 on the Richter Scale.
EDIT2: My family and I are all okay, which is why I seemed so enthusiastic about the earthquake. (That and I'm taking medicine for my allergies and trying to fight off a cold, so...I guess my reactions to certain things will be a bit off for a while. xD I just wanted to let everyone know.)


Anyways....I haven't been updating for a few days because I'm a bit stressed and therefore can't draw, and I might be getting sick. (It feels like it.)
The good news, however, is that I'm getting a tablet!<333
I can't wait until it's delivered.

It was made of pure WIN! *spazz* But, then again, rare is the Avatar episode that was bad. [And personally, I think we would have accepted something less than this if they had given it to us after nine months of deprivation.]

My favorite part was when Zuko was feeding the turtleducks. I thought that was cute. :3

Oh cruel irony! Zuko "regains" his honor, while Aang belives he lost his. There was no lack of angst during this episode.

....I loved the designs of Zuko's and Azula's armor....and those old witches ladies are scary.

Toph was kick-ass in this episode, and so was everyone else! ...I'm rambling quite a bit in this journal. Sorry about that! XD

Oh! and I finally found the Avatar magazine!
I bought it at Borders, just so the people that haven't been able to find one know. [I also heard that some people bought it at Barnes and Noble. ]

Ummm....what should I start with...?

1. To me, the need to draw is like the need to drink water, breathe, and eat. If I don't draw something in a while, no matter how it may look, I don't feel good.

2. I'm homeschooled.

3. I'm really picky when drawing, writing, etc. Everything has to be just right, or else I'm unhappy with my own work.

4. It's the little things in life that mean the most to me and cheer me up.

5. I view the world differently from most people and I am different from most people, which is why I have few friends. I don't know why that is, but it's just the way it is.

6. I enjoy writing, but I have never been able to write a multichaptered story. I can write poems, and drabbles, and maybe a few paragraphs to illustrate a theme, but I haven't ever been able to plan out a story.

7. I trust most people, but if they betray me, it takes a long time for me to trust them again, if ever.

8. I may not talk to/comment people alot, but I value everyone I meet on here. I guess I'm just shy. [I really need to work on my people skills. D: ]

Now it's just a matter of time before my dad buys an external hard drive to back up all our stuff on and then bring those hard drives home from the shop.

School started about 3 days after I came back from vacation, so I have less time for drawing and stuff, so requests will be delayed. I will get them done eventually though.

Also, I won't be on dA as often, since our old hard drive had some viruses, and my parents think they could have came from the websites that I visit. [It's always MY websites that get blamed for computer problems. D: ]
I'm not quitting dA, though. Far from it.


Oh, when I do get acces to my laptop and all those pictures, should I post the photographs on this account or should I create an account especially for photographs? I can't decide. What are your opinions?

Well, I'm finally back from my one month vacation in Europe and I'm exhausted. My plane landed in Vienna, Austria, and my family and I spent 3 days in Zobing (a town approx. 2 hours away from Vienna) at a friend's house, recuperating from the 14-hour flight (or was it 16? I lost track of time.). While we were there, we visited Burgruine Aggstein (a castle in the nearby area) and Gottweig Monastery (which was also in the nearby area).
Then, on the fourth day (I think) we traveled from Zobing, Austria, all the way down to Banja Luka in Bosna and Herzegovina (will be referred to as BiH ) and we made a major stop in Graz, Austria.
Since I doubt that many people want to read about my vacation, I'll just list the rest of the cities my family and I visited: Sarajevo (BiH), Zagreb (Croatia/Hrvatska), Trebinje (BiH), Bjelovar, (Croatia), and a few other places.

I took a total of approximately 2, 400 photographs with my digital camera, and unfortunately, I won't be able to share all of them. As soon as I have time, though, I will go through all of them and post my favorites and/or make a slideshow (suggested by Ekormekolindo).

I managed to draw a bit, but they mostly turned out to be crack!pictures. (all Naruto themed). When I have time to upload stuff, I will put all crack!pics in my scraps (If i decide to post them at all...are any of my watchers interested in Naruto crack drawings?) and everything else in my gallery. I managed to sketch MMemmyMM's request, but I did not color it (am unsure about what colors to use, and a few other things.)


Anyways, I currently have 2,098 deviations and 773 messages to look through. I will try to get started on that as soon as possible. I will eventually reply to all the comments I have received, but it might take awhile, since my dad took my family's main computer to a shop to see if any of our information could be retrieved, and the laptop we are using is, well, a bit slow (it's an old iBook), not that I'm complaining. I'm grateful for what I have.
I might not be able to go on dA as often as I usually do because school starts tomorrow for me and that's going to be hectic for a while and my parents are limiting my computer and drawing time. D: *twiches*

Umm...I really have no clue what else to say...other than that I missed you all a bunch and that I apologize if this journal makes no sense whatsoever because I'm still recovering from jet lag and all that fun stuff and my brain is currently mush.

It's about 2 days before I leave on vacation, and guess what?
My dad gets it into his head to update our computer's operating system, which in turn supposedly wiped out all the data on our computer, or hid it somewhere. Everyfuckingthing is gone. 2-3 years of photos, all my screencaps from Avatar and Naruto, my photos of my drawings in progress, all of my schoolwork, every little important fricking thing that existed on the computer is gone. And of course, it's all my fault. I was the one that should have saved all the pictures on a CD after I uploaded them, I should have saved my schoolwork on a CD, I should have backuped my music on a CD, but noooooo, I didn't. I fucking fail at life, again. [And of course, my parents blame me. Big surprise. But then again, I blame myself too. It is my fault.] Honestly, I forget to save the stuff sometimes, and other times, I'm preoccupied with drawing, chores, schoolwork, or simply trying not to go insane, because I have no friends in real life, and my parents aren't the most comforting. I only have my friends on dA. Pathetic, isn't it. D: I'm such a looser. My parents don't want me to waste my time drawing, but it's one of the few things that makes me happy. I have no friends to talk to that care, so I draw to release my feelings. I don't talk to people because they wouldn't understand or care. When I do talk to people, they tell me to suck it up, or they make fun of me, because someone that gets straight A's and is good at almost everything that they try doesn't have problems, and they insinuate that I must be lying, because I obviously have perfect life! Perfect, my ass. I can't talk to my own mom because she'll just tell me to suck it up and continue with my life, it doesn't matter, it's a part of life, get used to it. When she does comfort me, it feels fake, transparent, like even she doesn't belive in what she's saying. I don't remember the last time my mom gave me a true hug and told me that everything is going to be alright, and meant it.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg. I'm soo pathetic, I have no one to talk to, no one that cares. I would tell someone, but everyone says I'm being overdramatic, and will you please stop being a drama queen, just chill out.
It seems that nothing I do is ever good enough. ever. When I do do something right, my parents just push me to work harder, to become even better, but they are never happy with what I achieve. I'm just a useless fricking waste of space, it seems like.
I think I'm becoming depressed or something...my thoughts are becoming somewhat dark.

EDIT: Hey people, i´m just saying hi! I´m currently in austria (in a town somewhere near Vienna), and, other than being exhausted from a total of 14 hours of being on a plane, I´m feeling pretty good. I see i got a bunch of comments in the last 2 days, and I would answer them, but my computer time is limited, and typing with a foreign keyboard is a bit awkward and time consuming. xD

I'm going on vacation in Europe, and I'll be gone from July 11 to August 9. I highly doubt I'll have access to a computer or the Internet during any part of my vacation. I will continue working on requests a few days after I come back. [I WILL get them done eventually, no matter how elusive they are....]

Bad news:

-Well, I haven't been able to post anything, since STAR Testing is next week for me and I need to study like there's no tomorrow...

-My old tv show has reclaimed my mind, due to severe AWS, I have once again started to obses-I mean, fangirl over ReBoot. [For those of you that have no clue what ReBoot is, its an old computer-animated show that first aired around 1994-95. I literally grew up with the show. Go search "ReBoot" on Wikipedia, they have a better explanation.]

-Due to the reason above, I will be drawing ReBoot fanart rather than Avatar....[Although, once season 3 of Avatar starts, I'll be drawing more Avatar-related stuff.]

-I have no paper to draw on...>< I'm serious. I have like, 2 pieces of paper left....[maybe more, if i can find some], so I'll probably resort to drawing on lined paper.

Anyways, my scanner is being evil, so I haven't been able to post any art, and I have virtually no time to access the computer [which is surprising, considering that I'm homeschooled and all]
so I can't post a drabble I wrote and some interesting photographs.


I haven't forgotten to draw a picture to thank everyone for 1,000+ hits, but I have decided to do something different.

In honor of all of my watchers, I'm starting a new series of drawings that will be colored.
The series' name will be Symbols [an absolutely original name, I know. ] and drawing will be done for each main character of Avatar:TLA, and for many other characters. You'll find out more when my scanner starts cooperating and I can post the first drawing.
I would love it if you all would tell me what your favorite character(s) from Avatar is/are, so that I may dedicate the picture to you.



Last, but not least,
I cannot believe how many more watchers I've gotten!
I've jumped from 10 watchers to 18 watchers in 2 weeks [or something like that], and gotten a bunch more pageviews!

But the season finale was a big shocker for me. I was expecting a fluffy Zutara scene [let me dream XD] and a happy ending, but i got all this angsty crap and betrayals and all that other stuff...

And, once again, it ended on a cliffhanger [I cannot begin to explain how much those things piss me off, unless they are in Lady-Rai-Frost's stories]

Can't wait until the next season, but i have to admit, i am a bit less enthusiatic about it all...
