I'm back from AnimeNext and, while it wasn't nice on my pocket, I met some awesome people (when I decided to talk >.< and had a lot of fun. I suck at properly preparing for a con. Just throwing that out there. I don't, however, suck at soliciting commissions out of unsuspecting, drunken former frat boys. Let's just see if he remembered in the morning. XD
In other news, if anyone happens to watch this journal and be headed to AnimeNext, I'll be doing art trades as well as sitting my tush in the artists' alley. Look for a goth punk lolita on Friday, either Amane Misa from DeathNote or a female Xaldin on Saturday, and the fairly normal looking punk-ish black chick surrounded by Asians on Sunday. My outfit schedule is subject to change up to and including Sunday. Because I am clearly indecisive.
On the thesis front, I know the sound I'll be looking for and need to find a composer willing to make my crazy vision come to life. Well, I should probably wait until I get it approved/ripped to tiny, tiny shreds for that. I've decided on designs for my characters. I know how and when everything happens. I have a good idea for the environments, which I totally need to sketch and research a little. I, really, just need to decide if I'm going to go ahead with the snatches of conversation in the background. Then I'll start working on a treatment and storyboard after ANext. I'm so many kinds of excited for this.
Well, I'm gonna sketch up some more fanart-y-goodness to peddle and go to bed so I can go shopping tomorrow.

So I'm not following my carefully laid out plan for con domination at all. I'm doing a lot of Kingdom Hearts stuff and kind of pushing everything else aside. I started this really nice looking Trio piece that I really want to finish off in time but OpenCanvas is seriously not cooperating. And I really like that program now! This is disappointing. If anyone can help me out, that'd be great. I'm gonna make sure the program works in general.
As for my thesis, I'm plugging away at it. I need to make a few design changes to the girl (who I am calling Ella for convenience) and figure out what the hell the setting looks like, then I can storyboard! I think I'll start doing some environment sketches until ANext and get to work on the storyboard/animatic and finding a composer afterwards. But yeah! I gots a plan!
Also, I need a job. Like, last week. T.T

Huzzah, my year is finished! Now time to focus on more important things, like con-going. I'm fairly certain I'll be at Wizard World, most likely on Saturday or Sunday, as a guest rather than a volunteer this year with ~pluckyantihero and possibly ~BatGraham and whatever other members of the UArts gang I can rustle up. That's June 16/17, and I hope to have a few X-Men finished and ready to show off by then. I won't have a table sadly. Or fortunately. Take yer pick.
Next, I'll be headed to AnimeNext with ~fongmingyun, =ProdigyBombay, Vinni, and some other people I've yet to meet. And possibly ~TheDispreputableDog. Happiness all around. Now! I need to decide what fanart prints I shall be concocting. I know I work fairly fast when bored (case in point: five X-Men sketched and one inked, two days), so quantity isn't too big a deal. I just don't know what to do. I know I'm doing a Vincent (FF7:AC) for Jon as a surprise gift once it's done. I don't know Bleach well enough to be comfortable doing fanart that's not a commission. D.Gray-Man is a possiblity, as I adore Komui, as is DeathNote and Kingdom Hearts. Maybe I'll do Tira or some SC3 characters... It's all up in the air. I'll, hopefully, get something figured out.
In other news, found both Guitar Heroes with controllers for $75 on craigslist. Considering it. Strongly. I've got favorite songs on both, so it'd be worth it. I might wait until after con season and see if someone else has it.

I need to do more drawing, yo! I'm doing a series of gifts for friends where I, in short, turn us all into various characters from various series and genres. So I'm working on it on bristol, which is pissing me off with my inability to crumple it into a ball and scream properly.
In other news, I lowered the prices for sketch commissions. Only $5. I realized that a single commission can feed me on Wednesdays or Fridays, occasionally Sundays.
More news! I started doing the 100 themes challenge for the characters from Sweet Dreams. By the end, I should hopefully have everyone fleshed out enough to animate them more and such. Hooray? Blarg, I'm goin' to bed...

There will be some shading, ranging from pretty minimal to full on depending on the content and how long it takes. Well, I'm happily working on my finals and have been for about three weeks. "What?!" you say, "You've been working on them since midterms!? What are you, some kind of crazy!?" To this I say animator. ... This makes no since. Moving on!
There's trips to Annecy (France) and Ottawa for festivals that I'd love to go on. Together, they total around $2500. Crazy, no? So I'm opening myself to commissions wider than ever before. Hell, if you've got something you want now, I'll jump through hoops to get it to you in 24 hours. Not seriously. But close.
In other news, I need sheet music for Angel of Music from the Phantom of the Opera. Some free sheet music. Or I need to find someone with the score and mug them for it! ... Anyways, I needs that like apple sauce.

This coming week is going to be insane. Saturday is Zenkaikon (totally go if you can) with Grace and Gaming Night with Jon. Tuesday is Halloween and Dracula's Ball. The only day I'll maybe be home during that time is Monday. Also, my costume is so not done and I don't even know if it'll work out right! Gah!
In other news, I got details on my Intro to Animation final on Wednesday. One thirty-second animation of whatever I choose with some form of music track and done traditional. Treatment and storyboards due Wendesday, as well as any back assignments (of which I have two) and the addition of secondary motion to my last assignment. I love Mike, but in the same moment, I hate him. Not really. Anyways, I'm off to sew, since I've no class tomorrow. Toodles!
PS: I've been sketching like crazy for a minute so I have a lot of things to scan and upload. I just... haven't yet. I'm so busy. Next semester will be better, since I'll be doing more uploadable work in Drawing for Animators and have more time because my animation class will be mostly experimental and under-the-camera work. Also, film will be almost all digital which means no goddamned Bolex camera! I'm tired of that fuckin' thing! It hurts my life! And all the ones at school are broken! Gaaaaaaaaaaaah! Light leaks kill small woodland creatures! Kill them!

So, summer session ended a while ago and I brought up all my grades. I'll have my 2D paintings, my 3D stone carving, and my drawings later. In the mean time, I've brought way too much stuff. Like the Boondocks Season 1 boxset, Advent Children, Hellsing volume 2, games, manga, and comics. So I'm poor. Commission me? Please?

Edit: Nothing really new. I start OL training tomorrow morning, then it's Orientation, and then I begin my life as an animation sophomore. Woot! Happy dances all around! By the way, the meme-thinger below's still open, if anyone wants something.

A few things I feel must be said.
1. First and foremost, holy SHIT monkeys in grassy PLAINS, I'm almost at 15k pageviews! How the fuck did this one here happen? Wow... So, umm, gonna attempt to do and post more art to merit things like these.
2. As of earlier this afternoon, I am officialy a sophomore in the Animation major. Yup, Allie declared her major today. Ooh, now it's yesterday. Anyways, Animation's my game. I go to advising some time this or next week.
3. I now have KH2 and the guide, Withering to death., Ashes of the Wake, a d.EVIL deck of cards, and an mp3 player, sewing machine, and bookshelf on their way. Life is so many kinds of good right now.
4. Soba noodles are tasty.
5. I'm working on a comic with , my dearest Mooshu-chan. No details ironed out yet. >.<;

Feh. I haven't done anything organized lately. My brain craps out the most random things ever. If I ever get my thoughts sorted out, or stop thinking long enough to do something more than a sketch or minishot, I'll submit it. Until then, you can find my art in my LJ.

Yeah, I reorganized my journal because I'm bored and it was messy and jumbled and such. It's still messy, but not quite as jumbled. .:sigh:. I wish I had a subscription so I could make it look pretty and such.Anyways, I'm bored and have no messages. Erg... Moo... I should probably work of drawing something... like my globe. It's all pretty and ancient looking. I should take a picture and start a stock account or something... yeah...

Art and Writing Updates
Well, I haven't really done anything in terms of art and writing. Well, not that I've shown and finished or refined. If you look in my scraps, you'll see I added two sketch there today. Opinions would be much appreciated on those. I've been writing a lot of fanfiction too. A lot. I seriously need a new hobby. Or a slightly less hyperactive brain. Yeah, that'd be nice. 'Cause just yesterday, I had the bright idea to do another series, this time the Black Zodiac from 13 Ghosts, which I'd watched just watched. I wasn't going to even attempt the actual ghosts because that was too obviously hard. No, I said I'd design the symbols and drawing that would appear in the Arcanun. XP I can be so ambitious sometimes. I wish I wasn't always. I may still do it though. I have nothing better to do. Tell me if you'd like to see it. Well, I had to get rid of the depressing slop because my front page or whatever is also my home page and I saw it every time I went online. It got depressing. I plan on talking to some people tonight about the whole thing. Anyways, I didn't go out as planned today. I don't have to worry about my reserved copy anymore since my mother found it cheaper at Wal-Mart. I still have to pay for it though. That sucks. I have almost no money as it is. But that shall soon change! I am going job hunting tomorrow when I go to Kinko's! I have less than two weeks before my portfolio review and I need my photographs and digital work! And my leave behinds! Can't forget those. And I need to find something to put all this in because the zipper on my portfolio-baggy-mo-bob is broken. =______=# It broke on a rainy day too. Luckily, I sprayed everything with fixative! Yay! Anyways, I figure if I have any other decent looking pieces that I finish between now and then, I'll just print them out or make a quick trip to Kinko's again. Hopefully, they don't take very long. Maybe they can mail it to me too! Naw, that would take a long time... Speaking of mailing, I have to remember WI's "gift". XD If I have money, I'll mail it out ASAP, okies? Oh, and I officially am in love with L'Arc en Ciel. Part of it is because I love FMA so damned much. The rest if because of the Ready, Steady, Go video. It's the eyes, man, THE EYES! ... Anyways, on to the art front!
Artwise, I'm back to working on my comic. I really need to pick something and stick with it. Seriously. I think I might dump the whole Tarot cards project. I'm never going to get through them all. I was insane to ever even try it. But I may still do the Major Arcana. Definitely NOT working on the Minor Arcana. I'm crazy not stupid. Okies, maybe a bit of both... Anyways, I'm still hoping I can make it to a con before the next Kosaikon but it's not too promising. Ah well. At least I know I should be able to get a table at Kosaikon. I still wanna go to AnimeUSA though. But as it's in November, there's not much of a chance. Oh, yeah, kiribans. I'm nearly at 7000. That's just plain wierd. I'm not used to this... But, hey, maybe I can make it to 10,000 before my Shawnanana graduates! XP Umm... I've run out of things to say. SKETCHY TIME!

Well, I'm still jobless. I never went for the Fashion Bug interview. I didn't want the job. Now I'm cell phone less. I hate my fucking life. Nothing in it ever seems to go right. I try to do things right, or at least the best way I know, but it all just goes to shit. I want a way out. I thought college would be the answer, that I could just move and get away from everything. But even that won't help. For at least the first year, I have to live at home, the one place I don't want to be. Whatever. I give up.

Erg. That's all I have to say. Erg. I hate Sprint with a passion. They wrongly charged me for talking to my friends (two of whom have Sprint cell phones, two of whom lives in the city, the other who lives in Jersey, and all of them should be covered under the nationwide long distance, and most of the time we talked was off-peak). Then, my lovely mother decided to take the money out of my account without telling me. All $134.37. Right before my best friend's (who happens to be relocating to Florida in September) birthday. By the way, she knew this. She knew we were all going to go to South Street to take her out for lunch, buy gifts, et cetera. Great weekend anywho though. I brought the Housewives' Tarot deck, which is full of hilarious 40's ad styled depictions, and volume 1 of Legal Drug.
Artwise, I'm going insane. I finished my entry for 's contest and it looks like crap compared to everything else. I'm entering two other contests I have almost no chance of winning. I have the strange urge to do Guilty Gear fanart because of Jane and :iconmakiubermach:. Oh, and my tarot cards have reached a bit of a block. Shit, who am I kidding? I can't think of anything. It's like my brain has finally given out on that front. But I have also been doing Lenne of FFX-2 fanart. Or attempting to. It never turns out the way I want. I have a sketch I just scanned that I'm going to ink, but I don't think I'll upload it yet. Maybe later. I'm off. I have a job interview for Fashion Bug and nothing "appropriate" to wear. I might as well just go with capris and a tee shirt.

Alrighty, I'm done all the work for my portfolio. I can finally relax until I call my counselor today, schedule the appointment, and go all psycho and such until then. However, I haven't called back yet so no worries! Just have to gather everything together and get a nice something to carry it in. ... Or just grab some folders and roll the big pieces up.
Anyways, I played the Matchmaker this weekend! Hooray! I feel all Eros-like. Buyt why doesn't this shit work for me? Am I doomed to be the best friend or little sister forever? Ah, who cares. Maybe, if I'm lucky, it'll all end up like Hitch. Speaking of which, my mom brought it on DVD. It's an okay movie, but more for couples than anything else.
In other news, I brought Demon Days and I love it. Especially the last two songs. I love those guys...
Finally, one last bit of news. I probably won't be online Saturday or Sunday and I sure as hell won't have a scanner. Why? I'll be in Jersey, enjoying a lovely graduation party. As for the rest of my summer, someone had better call me back! Now! Alright, I'm gone. Out of things to say that no one will bite my head off for if they read this. Bye peoples!

So, I finish two tarot cards this week! Yay! I had a... strange weekend, to say the least. And I still haven't called UArts yet. But I will tomorrow before I go to Kris' house so we can watch InuYasha and she can tell me all about South America and the temple and her DEFILEMENT OF IT! Ahem. Anyways, since no one will get that, I've got Krumpets! Yay! Hooray for Tasty Kake! Yum. Anyways, I'm kind bored right now. Don't know why and no real reason for it. Well, I can't get a hold of Aprilness and Shawnanana so I can hopefully arrange a movie trip or something. I thinnk I might have money for that. Speaking of money, Friendly's never called me back, the bastards! Don't they know what they're missing! Oh well, the Borders in Center City will hopefully hire me. Hopefully. ... Oh wow, I just noticed it was raining. I'm oblivious. Crap, my window! Anyways, I also took this really pretty picture that I'm hoping to include in my portfolio as well as one of this storm if I can find batteries. They'll be up one day... Erm... Later.

Edit: So, I finally called UArts yesterday and my counselour said I need about two more observational pieces. Oh, and that I got my own social security number wrong. Xp Yes, I'm a blond in disguise. Shh... Anyways, I drew a jar full of jelly beans minus the jelly beans because the more I looked at them, the more my head spun. My recent photographic submission is also include in the little bundle of artsyness, along with a photo I completely forgot about and took for the sole purpose of putting in the portfolio and maybe another sketch using 's stock. Maybe. It hasn't turned out horrible yet and the hand looks like a hand for once! Yay! Erm, I have to go count how many pieces I have now. I'm trying really really hard to stay under 15 because I'm dragging friends along for moral support and shopping afterwards. Even if I don't get in, I'm splurging in Utrecht. Now to figure out how to print out all my digital work... Oh bother.

I stopped whining and, at the threat of bodily harm from a friend, I'm doing the portfolio interview with UArts. She says that if my skill with charcoals doesn't get me in, they're fucktards. Well, she didn't actually say that but whatever. Anyways, I do know what all is going into it thus far. Two sets of designs, one self portrait, Icarus, one still life, one still life negative, unfinished but really detailed pencil of skeleton and background, Kimmel Center sketch, set of gesture drawings, and whatever Tarot cards I finish as a set. Except the explicit ones. Well, so far, that only includes WI's so I'm good, right? Well, I'm nearly at their required ten now and I barely have anything of my own. Maybe I whip out some stuff for Wings of Wax that I've been plotting and include that. Anyways, I have two parties to get ready for this weekend. The one today is a surprise party for Nichole. I hope she really is surprised this time. She had better be! Tomorrow is April's and I can't wait! Anyways, I'll probably be gone the whole weekend starting at six this evening.
Oh yeah! I applied for a hostess job at Friendly's. I really don't want to work at a restuarant but that's about all that's left. Kinda screwed I suppose. But as soon as summer's over, I'm applying to work at Tower or Border's in Center City or EB or GameStop at the Gallery. ... No one has any idea what the hell I'm talking about, right?

Okies, I've got some news on my comic. I've written the script for the first two pages. The problem is I don't know if I want to try Adire's way of doing each panel on a seperate page or go with the ever-popular method of each page on, well, a page. I'm liking the popular method only because I love trees. Seriously. Despite the allergies. Anyways, I'll figure it out, do character sketches that will eventually be sold as prints, and move on with my life, hopefully attending the University of the Arts. I think I might skip the whole portfolio review and ask about the PREP program they have. I don't know. I want to be prepared and everyone tells me I have enough skill, I'm just not confident enough in it yet. You know what? Fuck the portfolio. I'd rather have summer courses anyway and it's a hell of a lot less stress. I'll call them tomorrow and see if there's still space available. As for transcripts, my teachers kindly forgot to hand them in so my guidance counselor, Ms. Muto, is working on it. Geez, Lance, Dave, I could have so done without the extra stress!
In other news, and as an explanation for why I suddenly have started working on about 79 new prints, I've decided to work on Tarot cards again. Not because I've become a pagan. I remain forever devotely agnostic. They just give me a lot to work with and I still love the Fool I did all the way back during Pippin rehersals, so there you have it. All I know so far is that they will all be available as prints of approximately 4x10 {or is it 10x4?} and will bear the name and possibly characteristic of each card. I just finished all my research but I'm not going to get started on the actual cards until I either figure out how to write and sketch with these goddamned talons they call nails or get rid of them. Well, most of them. I'll probably just cut them down a lot. I'm such a tomboy... Ah well!

I've gots a new obsession! My guy friends have addicted me to Magic: The Gathering and now I want Angel and Demon decks. They're so pretty too... Alright, anyways, I'm really sick right now. I kinda want to curl up into a ball, kick a few times, and fall into a deep coma but I can't. Baccalaureate's on Wednesday and I'm singing in the mass. Then Graduation's the next day and the chorus is singing the National Anthem. Tuesday's the Senior Breakfast and Awards and I should have perfect attendence for all twelve years. Damn you, Penn Wood East! Ruining my perfect record! .:gouges their eyes out:. I'll tell you how the Senior Party is tomorrow. I have to go get ready soon. I haven't picked out a top yet.
Oh, before I go! I made a 99 Dogs store in which to sell Wings of Wax stuff. If you have any ideas of what you want, tell me. All I know so far is that there will be a shirt with Icarus' insignia, which, since it would be impossible to draw my angel over and over again on everyone's shirt, it's just a set of outstretched wings on either side of a stylized Icarus. I might do a Spirit Medium shirt too, but I'm not sure yet. And probably a sweatshirt. But that's all I've got so far. I do, however, have more comic info.

Notes: 10 minutes between levels, 100 levels in all; summoning levels harder to attain as compared to mana levels {require dangerous and tiring practices}; mana levels begin at mediocre and increase by themselves over time with use; Icarus functions like posh military; rank in Icarus determined by seniority, power of primary summon. and number of familiar summons; information sent to PDAs through encrypted emails {use an ancient language and sanscript font};

Mediums: connect with spirits; harness spirit energy; abilities can evolve but must be born with some potential; potential can go unnoticed for a long time but doesn't usually; much more powerful and useful than psychics.
Psychics: must be born with the ability; can speak with ghosts and ask them for favors of power; usually familial; can be very gradually improved and not by much.

I think the biggest additions are the types of summon animals, Icarus, and the difference between mediums and psychics. And now I shall get to work scripts and that sort of thing, as well as scouting out hosts. I think I might just go with Drunk Duck, though.

I think I know how I'm going to make my prints! Plain thin black/white border, title, website name, logo if I make one up. It's genius! Though she doesn't know it, thanks to ~neondragon. That recent submission set off the whole common sense thing. .:bows unendingly in thanks:. I think I might get a CafePress shop if people decide to pimp me in the streets, but probably not. They don't have much selection when it comes to prints and posters.
As for conventions, I'm going to ask my mom again today if I can go to Wizard World. I just have to clean up the computer room before she gets home and make it look like I made some progress in my room. I'm aiming to go on Saturday and Sunday. I think I get my yearbook on Friday. .:feels old again:. When it comes to AnimeNEXT, it all depends on if my mom agrees and if I get that job at Best Buy or not. Probably not, in which case I'm headed for the local EBs and GameStops. If that fails, I think I'm screwed since I have to be 18, for some unknown and probably stupid reason, to work at RadioShack or any place like it. Stupid age laws... If I'm extremely lucky, I'll get a job I want and be able to go to the conventions. Since I'm not going on a Senior Week vacation {we planned ours later becase it's Senior Week for just about all schools}, I have a bit of an advantage. And I'm not moving for college. Yay for laziness! It pays off sometimes.
Anyways, happy late Memorial Day everyone! I kind of missed saying it yesterday because I was at a friend's and we barbequed. I made the Kool-Aid! XP I need to learn to cook, seriously. See, Monty, I'm not always secretive and depressed! X3 Gods, I feel stupid today. At least I only have two more assessments left to think about: Chorus' suddenly mandatory music theory quiz {damn crazy Catholic Archdiocese people!} and Theology. Theology's all common sense anyways, no need to really study anything but the impediments to a Catholic marriage. I might care if I were Catholic and straight. Bah. Stupid people. ... What are those looks for? Didn't I mention the bisexual-ness that is me before? ... Oh. Yeah, I'm bi! Let's do a dance!
Umm... .:thinks:. I don't know anymore. I think I'm just gonna go work on a website and such for Wings of Wax. I seriously doubt TokyoPop or anyone else will want me writing for them, so it's going to stay a webcomic as planned. I might still submit it anyway. .:wonders if she should draw it traditional or American:. Also, I think I may have a contest for the comic. Draw Noah being all sexy with his ex or Harrison, his partner who swears he has no attraction to Noah. Pfft. Liar. He shall be attracted if I deem him so! .:evil laughter and cough:. So, ummm, yeah. Still trying to get to those cons mentioned last journal. My mom's convinced that I MUST spend time with my family as soon as they get here to go to my graduation. Bah! That's what that whole next week is for! Besides, WW is a total learning experience and my last chance, really, to be with two of the people I've been the best of friends with! As for AnimeNEXT, I just need a ride. I'll probably talk to Captain McJesus, my protegee/freshmen on Tuesday. Oh! Happy Memorial Day Weekend all! Now on to more pressing matters: graduation. I'm not ready to leave yet. Rest assured, there are no sentimental attachments to Prendie except the people and Lance. I just haven't finished the whole application process yet for college. And I have to find a job. I really want to work at a game or electronics store, since they desparately need game-savvy people to help out in the area. However, it seems the managers nearby have done that whole give-obscure-and-semi-closely-related-pe ople-jobs bit so there aren't very many openings. Maybe I can get a job on BestBuy's Geek Squad or something. Sounds like a plan! .:rushes off:.

Alrighty, I've got some big news for ya! I think I'm going to Wizard World East in Philly {June 3-5} and AnimeNEXT in North Jersey {June 17-19}! Yay! I'm pretty sure I'll be able to go to Wizard World since they need volunteers still and I have an inside connection. I'm really hoping to learn some new, beneficial stuff that will help me. And, yes, that was the whole point, besides the free stuff and not having to pay to get in. Besides, I'll be Angry Black Woman #2 if all goes according to plan. If you happen to live the Philly area and have nothing to do any of those days, track down the website and send the form in ASAP. It has to get to New York for cofirmation. As for AnimeNEXT, I'm hoping to not only cosplay as Quistis {with most of the rest of the FF8 cast to match or at least Squall and Rinoa} and make a complete ass of myself, but sell commissions, designs, and prints. I'll even have my own business cards made by me. Woo! I've started working on a list of mangas, animes, and games to do fanarts of and have started work on a small original piece. Hooray! Here's what I have so far...

Edit: I'm currently arguing with my mom to get her to let me go to Wizard World. Since it's the weekend before graduation, she says I need to spend time with my visiting family. Not to be rude, incosiderate, or mean, but I can do that the NEXT weekend, when I have nothing I seriously want to go to and it's actuallu CLOSE to graduation. I'm going to try and talk to her tonight. As for AnimeNEXT, I'm either no longer cosplaying or going as someone else. I'll feel stupid if I go alone as Quistis. Unless I can 1. find a loop hole in something, 2. get Sloane to cosplay as someone from FF8 with me, 3. convince Immanuel to not only go but cosplay with me, 4. convince WI to cosplay, or 5. convince Christina to go AND cosplay. The last one will probably never happen. I also kind of need a way to get there. I'm'll work on that bit when my current ride leechee gets out of classes.

As I hope you all know, I'm trying to go to an art college. I was going to host my portfolio on ArtWanted.com for convience and a more professional look to it. However, I neglected to notice that there's a three image upload limit per month. What does that mean? It would take me five months to upload a full portfolio. Crap. So now I'm back to looking for somewhere to host said portfolio. And I went through all the trouble of photographing my big traditional pieces too. Crap.
Edit: I found a place for my portfolio that looks professional and suits my purposes perfectly. Here's the link, if you want to see my traditional, fine artsy stuff for some reason. The only thing I don't think is crap is my still life. Not the stools one. The legs look all wonky.

I finished the design for my wedding dress! Yays! It's so pretty! I think I might leave it in pencil for the project until I can ink really well. Hmm... And I'm trying to follow 's tutorial on inking. Not doing too well on the PS front though. I think I'm doing something wrong. XP Ah well. I shall keep trying.
Oh, and the last game of the season was on Thursday. I have plenty of lax {lacrosse} pics, but they'll have to come later. Like end of the school year later. Actually, I'm done the same time as WI. .:does the end-of-school boogie-down:. Yayness!
I think I'm out of exciting things to say. I just sprayed a sketch with some fixative and holy shit does that stuff go straight to your head! I'll hopefully have enough brain cells later to say more.

While I was on the trolley on the way home today, working on a sketch to use for the beginnings of my printworthy works, I thought up a comic finally! Read all about it in my newest deviation. Since I posted all of about ten minutes ago, I've gotten pretty far with my basic concept and plot. Characters and such are taking a while since I can't decide on 1. Noah's oreintation {it does matter to me since I'm trying to make several points with this} and 2. names. Names seem to be getting harder and harder for me to think up recently. Anyways, here's what I've got so far.

Concept: Noah must find a way out of the moral catostrphe he has gotten himself into before it is too late to save himself and those he loves.

Plot: Noah Kidtslinger has always been able to see and speak with ghosts. Ever since childhood, he has spoken with those of the Other Realm and learned many great things. When he graduated from high school, he was approched by an organization known as Icarus. He joined without a second thought for he had no plans for his future. They began his training immediately and soon enough met his primary Summon, a Death Raven named Algernon. For the past five years, he has worked for Icarus and now he is beginning to question their motives. After being forced to tracked down and kill a former member and exterminate her primary Summon, he wonders whether Icarus' intentions are or have ever been pure.

Characters
Noah Kidtslinger: spirit medium for Icarus
Algernon: Noah's primary Summon
Nurrah Kidtslinger: Noah's mother and psychic
Stanley Kidtslinger: Noah's father

Another thing: should he have siblings? It'll make the story both complicated and easier at the same time and I can't decide. More later.

Well, I heard that the prom was fun and I got the favor for not going. XP It's just tiny picture frames, nothing special. But I did miss Lance {chorus teacher} dancing. Dammit. In other news, I'm heavily bruised, yay! I'm also working on my wedding project and looking for a gallery script so I can make my 'folio site. As for the AP test today, I can't talk about it. XP Yeah, pointless, I know.
Next order of business, I've become addicted to classical again. I'm such a music junkie, but I love it.
Next! My wedding project. Let's just say that the Catholic Church has never seen a wedding like this one. I'll have a list of songs up before it's due, along with all the artwork I'll be doing for it.

Sorry I haven't been on until today! I was at my friend's house all weekend and then had lacrosse at one. Anyways, my weekend. We went to King of Prussia, one of my favourite malls in the Tri-State Area. It has Hot Topic, Spencers, and the Sanrio store! Not to mention this place that sells bonsai trees, Steve Madden, Sketchers, Old Navy, and FYE! THAT PLACE IS HEAVEN! And Charisma at the AquaMassage mo bo thinger! And Alon at The Athelete's Foot! And that drop-dead-sexy but incredibly tall guy that was in Hot Topic! And his boyfriend! Oh gods, I could have died a blissful death right then. But then the Borders' Express was having a three-for-two sale! Let's just say I had a wonderful time at the mall and enjoyed the beginning of the ride back. Things took a turn for the worse, but no details for you! Then we watched The Lost Boys, which made me want to do spontaeous Laddie fanart. Then I passed out. XP I Later left and went to lacrosse, which was, shall we say, tedious. Then I came home, found a bunch of emails on yahoo and a ton of messages here, and a free one-week subscription trial! Maybe I'll be able to convince my mom to buy me one... Or I'll just save up myself.

In other news, I started writing a Harry/Draco slash for no apparent reason a little while ago. It's called Hearts and Spades. I haven't gotten too far with it though. I'm trying to avoid it becoming pure, unadulterated smut. But that's really really hard! XP Not really, but kind of. Smut is fun to write. Just take to random male characters, throw them in a pit, and drop in some bondage gear...

Sorry, I was in an incredibly bad mood yesterday and felt very much betrayed so I did the only thing I could think of: write a journal and sketch. XP Sorry for worrying anyone! Anyways, the sketch was ripped to shreds in a perfectionistic fit of rage, so no seeing my sketchy today! Anyways, I'll be out most of the weekend, so I probably won't be on again until Sunday afternoon or later, because I'm getting my hair braided as soon as I get home. Alrighty then, I'm off to get ready! We're going to King of Prussia Mall! Weee! Now that I think about it, why didn't they just name the city King of Prussia after, you know, a kinf of Prussia/Turkey? Wouldn't that have made so much more sense?

Meh, graduation is coming so fast! Prom is less than a month away and I have no dress, I need a black dress for the spring concert, and there's just too much STUFF! Wah, my head's going to explode! And I still have yet to apply anywhere. =_=; I'm doing it as soon as my mom gets home tomorrow though. My college list has narrowed to just three: UArts, SCAD, and CCAD. DCAD sent me a letter, but there's no way I do a portfolio for them by then. My school's don't require a portfolio, but I'm giving them one anyway. I have four observational pieces done already, so I can do pretty much whatever else until I get to 10 to 15. Let's see... designs give me something like seven, I have some things in my sketchbook I can use {10...} and I'll just keep going until my UArts interview. Yay!
In other news, I want to try my hand at something Jhonen-esque... I can't draw Nny because, well, he's Nny. However, I love the style and will, one day, attempt something like it.
In even more news, I need to stop reading so much slash. The man sex is rotting my brain faster than usual. But it has inspired a sketch which one day may or may not actually be done. At the moment, however, I need to focus on getting what I already have to do done.

Edit: I'm no longer going to my prom. It's really just more hassle than it's worth at the moment. I don't have time to look for a dress, I don't have the money, and I don't have the patience to deal with idiots who talk behind my back. Besides, the whole point was to be with my friends and I'm sure have a lot fewer than I thought. Besides, my best friend isn't even a senior. Anyways, not going, going out to dinner instead. Then, if one of my friend's is still having an after-party, I'll go to that.

Today, I'll be speaking on some theological issues, so I don't mind if you skip over my ranting.

The Pope died today. Monday's definitely not going to be a happy day back at school. My school's website is surprisingly devoid of the depressing news, probably because it's been all over every major news station since about a month ago. I, however, don't really few this as a bad thing. As much as I fear death, I feel it was the best thing for him. I'm sure he was suffering, not the physical suffering those idiot doctors swore he wasn't in, but the emotional pain of wondering what will happen. With pretty much nothing but time on his hands, the Pope had to wonder what would happen to the Catholic Church, as well as the bonds it has made with other churches and the missions and establishments worldwide that he has made during his term. He must have wondered what will happen to all he has tried to accomplish once he's gone. There's a saying that goes you are always succeed by your opposite and it has been proven time and again in history. John Paul was moving the Church out of the Dark Ages and into the light of a new era. Will his successor reverse all of this, aboutface all the slow changes being made? Not many non-Catholic or Catholic-school-attending people are probably aware of this, but everything about the Church was slowly changing. Each diocese, each parish, was becoming more and more it's own distinct entity. Will this all collapse? Does any of it really matter to me? I'll probably graduate before much can actually be changed by whomever they name Pope. But still, I breach this question to you all. Will John Paul II's death greatly influence the direction of the Church or will his successor continue on the path of his predecessor, just as John Paul himself did?

Umm...yeah. I went to Kosaikon with Immanuel today. I must admit, it was so much more fun than I expected. I got to meet WI, Melo-san, a ton of other great artists, buy a fortune cookie on a necklace, watch highly depressing Digimon, see some of Bleach, and get some free art. Oh, and now I must cosplay. I must. But what to do...? .:wonders if *sadwonderland's Bizenghast will work:. Anyways, I have pictures and I'll make a big ol' gallery out of it tomorrow when I feel less mechanical. And I'm nearly done Monty-sama's B-Day gift! Yays! I just have to color it and I think I'll do that in Photoshop. Sorry, Monty, no tatters. I just got an Idea, ran with it, and completely missed the tattery-ness! Sorry!

"It's common knowledge that getting a tertiary (post-secondary) education isn't cheap, and I can't really afford it.


I really don't want to have to drop out of school - if I do, I'll have to go back to another minimum wage, menial-labour job to pay off what I owe and the chances of me getting back into the school later on are pretty much non-existant (I lost my previous full time job when I went back to school).


So I need to get through art school and I can only afford to pay the interest fees until April/May, so by then I need to find a source of income.
I have been looking for work, but have so far been unsuccessful, and my family isn't able to help me either.


So the other night, while discussing possible solutions to this problem with my friend (and fellow artist) Derk, we came up with the idea of an art auction with dozens of artists volunteering their work and some of their time to participate, with the proceeds going to my tuition. ..."

I say that all you talented artists who for some unknown reason pay attention to me (that would be you, Monty, Ash, Rowie, WI, ... err, you know who you are already) help out. And all others who randomly drop by, go here [link] and read up on the details.

Update: Here's the new deal. I'll do a complete traditional piece and inform the buyer via email of its completion. Then I'll figure out how the money (if I take any) and art will be sent. Probably snail mail until the rest of my senior year tutition is paid and application fees and senior week trips are paid for. Oh, and I get a new computer. I also design dresses and such for special occasions. I've been doing a lot of prom stuff lately.

I'm getting my new desktop on Friday and I have the day off so I can spend it loading my programs, uploading art, and generally catching up. My old one, however, has the AIDS of computers and will literally destroy any other PC connected to it if you try to transfer anything. Even with commercial grade anti-virus protection. So I shall attempt to devise a way to send files from there via the Internet to school, clean them up there on one of the laptops, then send it home. Hopefully, it will work and I'll have all that art I was slowly working on. Hopefully. If not, then I have to start a lot from scratch. Not really a lot, but I will have to reteach myself how to shade.
PS: The day after the new PC arrived, it shorted and the guy who was supposed to fix it has yet to come. I hate you, Dell!

Speaking of prom, I need to find me a date. And a dress, accessories, shoes, a place to go afterwards, a ride, and a plan for senior week. Damn it all to hell.
In other news, I went on my mandatory retreat in January and actually enjoyed it. Besides finding out how seriously fucked up some of the people in my class are and that I'm not alone in that whole bit, I got a candle, new piece of jewelry (a cross), and some great stuffs out of the whole deal. Unfortunately, I can't divulge anything about it, not even here, in case someone from Prendie who hasn't gone yet finds this journal and reads it all! Ah well. Maybe next time. Oh, and I'm hoping to put myself through hell and lead April's retreat.

Hello again, all. As you know, winter break is over and it's time to get back to what really matters in life: going to college. -_-; I'm kind of tired of people saying that kind of shit to me. "Art isn't a really career."; "You'll never make money that way."; "If you don't get accepted to an art school, then what?"; "You're not going to amount to anything at this rate.". More or less, it's only making me try harder to get to where I want to be, to do with my life as I see fit. Why does it seem like people are trying to control my life? Does the way I think, what I see, how I feel not matter anymore? In a way, what these people have said has made me almost want to give up entirely. Then, there are those very few that inspire me, encourage me, give me the strength to stand and say "shut the fuck up, bitch'. To these people, no matter if you know it or not, I love you guys and will miss you when I have to go to college or whenever I'm not online constantly. Thanks so much to all of you.
Now, over my little ten-day break, I've realized something very important: I can't draw backgrounds to save my life. I try and sometimes I do something amazing, but for the most part, I'm horrible. But I do love designing. I love creating unbelievable outfits and taking from all I've seen and know. Granted, no one on dA or other sites will be able to see any of this until I either get a new computer or the old one is fixed, but take my word for it when I say that my personal fashion gods have deemed my designs gorgeous. Right now, I have two lines in progress with another street line in the plotting stages. One is just a line of prom dresses for my friends IRL. They've asked me to do them and I agreed. Some others have also asked, but until they offer money, they won't get shit. ...That's kind of mean, now that I think about it but, simply put, I don't really like them and they're just trying to use me. Anyways, the other is Viscitorian, a mixture of modern metal, with its leather and PVC, and Victorian style, with all the beautiful lace. When you see most of the designs, you'll probably think of some of Anne Rice's vampires.
Yeah, so that's my life right about now. It's been a bit hard and trying, but I'll muddle through. I always seem to in the end.

Well, the play ended long time 'go and went fairly well, though I didn't go to many cast parties. I tried out for the spring show, Grease, and am currently awaiting the cast list since I didn't make a lead call back and knew I wasn't (update: I just checked the list. I didn't make the cast either.). I now have four complete/near complete pieces for my portofolio that I'll post here after I get my new digital camera (with printer dock) for the aforementioned holiday. I'm done my art classes and miss everyone in them terribly, especially Will ('cause he liked that mess of overdone detail I called a skeleton) and Melissa ('cause she's funny, though Republican. But I can deal with that.). I'm taking either Comic Book Illustration or Character Development in the spring. I'm working on a line of FF-like fashion for my portfolio as well, mostly to flesh it out and give it more variety. I still haven't done my holiday shopping or artwork (yes, this year there really will be something for everyone here) but I'm going to try to do it this Saturday. The Christmas concert is coming... Enough said.

Well, I now officially have two nearly finished pieces for my portfoilio and a concept for a slightly abstract one of a geisha. Only 12 more to think up and do. -_-;
Anyways, I've been reading 'Memoirs of a Geisha'. I love it so much! I suggest that if you have any interest in Japanese culture at all, you should read it. I'm so glad it was on the reading list this year. I have a feeling I'm going to like 'Princess' too.
Im not continuing the Tarot series, at least not at the moment. I need mre stuff for my portfolio and, unfortunately, anime won't cut it. I will probably do a bit of photography and maybe a bit of slightly abstract work, but no more anime. Not now at least.
Hell Week is coming and I don't have my character shoes... Shit. I should go buy them soon. Quite soon. In other news, I have fallen madly in love with Utrecht, even though my debit card seems to go dumb when I walk in! .:glares the bastard piece of green plastic:. But all will be well next time. I'll try buying less. Try... I'm going to have to see if Pearl or any other local stores happen to have a site. And if they're cheaper. .ets the image of the prismacolor pencils:.
