<sub>I will be leaving for the beach in a few days, so I want to say early to everyone that I hope you have a wonderful New Year's Eve and look forward to a great 2010. We will be having our new year's celebration at Myrtle Beach, I hope it's not too cold there.

Today is "Card Playing Day" - a day to hang out with our family and friends and play any and all kinds of card games. It is sometimes referred to as a National holiday but there isn't anything on the books to make it official, though more and more people celebrate it each year.

<sub>Well the craziest time of the year is over! I'm very happy that my husband is off work until Jan 4, we are going to try and get some stuff done in the house. We had a good holiday, I was a little depressed here and there but overall it was fun. My mother and father and brother all came to my sister-in-law's house yesterday for dinner. We had ham and all the fixin's. I made squash and onions, and I'd made the sausage balls the other day - so good.Here's some highlights of my holiday...

Josiah told me before Christmas his dream was to wrap up in a blue snuggie (lol) with a blue DS. He got his wish!

My husband bought this ring for me for Christmas, it was a total surprise!

December 24, 09 Christmas Eve



It's Christmas Eve, and my kids are over at my sister-in-law's which gave me time to finish wrapping the presents. I really hope they like the presents, I kinda went all out this year. My oldest son is getting a lot of Doctor Who stuff - even found a replica of the Tardis key on ebay that I bought him, and a sonic screwdriver. Also bought him a cool video/camera. He and his friends are really into the whole youtube thing so this should help. Hudson got a turtle, I gave it to him early though. Some stuff for the DS that his aunt's giving him. Got my dad a bunch of various coffees. Got my sister-in-law a bevy of various books among some other things. My husband was easy, I'm helping him pay his car taxes. Though he apparently bought me something in a little box and I have no clue what it is! I don't think it's jewelry...hmm.

I've got to make sausage balls tomorrow and a carrot cake. My sister-in-law is an awesome cook, we are having ham with all the trimmings on Christmas day. My parents and brother are coming over as well. Now tonight the tradition is to have finger foods and open presents, this was my husband's family tradition that was brought into the marriage. So we'll have sandwich stuff, cookies, summer sausage and cheese and crackers and lots of shrimp, and dips and chips and stuff for christmas eve dinner.

Happy Winter Solstice to everyone. The longest night of the year is upon us. I wanted to share a solstice poem that I wrote with you, as well as some solstice art around dA.



A Lesson from the Dark

No matter what the year was before--
tonight is a night of renewal.

The darkness is long,
it's bitter and strong.
It tugs on our hearts,
and pulls on our soul.

It leaves our lives like a
frozen wasteland with
nothing left in sight.

But there's life there.
There's someone that cares.

Look at the evergreen.
Find yourself an acorn.

Even on a cold day,
all the trees seem dead,
you can find a pine tree alive,
and you can find an acorn.

Put it where you can see it.
That acorn stands for endurance.
There's a strong oak in there.
There's an oak in you somewhere.

The winter doesn't last forever.
Once it starts, it signals its demise.

God bless the Sun!

There's light, it shines in our darkness.
That's what Solstice is about!

The birthday of the Sun.
The sun and moon renew themselves
on the longest night of the year.

Anyone have any tips for taking photos of Christmas lights? I guess the biggest one would be to use a tripod, right? We are heading to James Island near Charleston on Saturday to see the lights and I hope to get some cool pictures. I have 3 shoots on Sunday, so there will be more fresh blood up soon. Monday is Winter Solstice - get your bird feeders ready!

Whew! I had a shoot on Saturday downtown at a major hotel and I worked no less than 14 hours (there was a bit of downtime between shoots while the models had makeup and hair done). I am so excited to show you the work as soon as the agency releases them, honestly some of the photos I feel are some of the best I've ever done. I will be heading to Charlotte, NC in January to shoot for the agency again. I am in desperate need of a flash for my camera, I had to rent one. So if anyone knows of someone that's selling a flash for a Canon Rebel Xsi let me know, I'll be able to buy it come the new year.

I've been overwhelmed by deviations! I had over 400 just from today, due to the groups I watch, so I'm not sure what I should do, any suggestions? It does make it easier for me now that I figured out how to view by deviant, but still... I just don't want to have to go through thousands of deviations a week! I can't really appreciate the art work or even try to fave and comment with that many, so I may have to resort to hiding the deviations from some of the groups I'm in. I really hate to do that because if I'm in a group, it's because I want to participate.

Well, the day is here again, as it happens each and every year. It's my birthday! I am 38 years old today, damn I'm getting old and I have the silver hair to prove it!! Which reminds me, check out my new poll! It's actually been one of the best years of my life, and I'm dead serious about that. Probably the best year of my marriage (I've been married 13 years), and the best mental health I've ever had. I still have to deal with a lot of pain and illness, but my mind is better which goes a long way to dealing with my illnesses, and my medication is finally right. My mom ~dgpc4ever is so sweet, she just texted me saying "Happy Birthday, I hope you have a pain-free day" - I like that!

Groups! Groups! Groups! It's here, am I excited enough for you? I've already sent in an application to turn =camerawhore into a group. What a nice present from deviantART for my birthday! (Ok I know they didn't do it for my birthday but it's a nice thought).

I've had a few models flake on me in just a one week period and you know what? It sucks. I worked quite hard getting ready for the gypsy inspired shoot today not to mention spent a good bit of money on candles and such, and the model never called me to confirm nor sent me an email to say she wasn't available after all. Like I just recently told someone though, if you work with models you have to deal with flakes, it's just part of the job. Doesn't make it feel better though.

I did have a full weekend planned for modeling shoots, but the model for tomorrow has yet to get back in touch with me (don't you hate that?) which was for my Summer shoot, and then it will probably rain on Sunday when I was supposed to go to Camden for a trash the dress wedding shoot. Oh well. There is always another weekend. I'm off in an hour or so to see my husband play tonight at Carolina Wings with his band The Love Handles. I am supposed to do another shoot next week also but not sure if that will come through. I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week - and my birthday isn't long after.

Leonid Meteor Shower
I hope to catch this tonight, I missed it early this morning. They are predicting 20 to 30 meteors per hour for North America and 200-300 per hour in ASIA!! That's amazing! If I did the math right, you should be able to view them (along with Mars) tonight at 9pm EST.

First of all, my husband tells me about this thing on Yoville (from Facebook) that a friend of his showed him at work - that if you put this chair on top of a bed, then one Yoville character lays down and one sits in the chair it looks like they are getting busy! Who came up with this?! So I went to one of the "perv" rooms and I saw it with my own eyes! Here's a screenshot:



This is why I don't want my children on Yoville, this is crazy and hilarious at the same time and very, very sad. Make sure you full view to see the crazy conversations.

I am so happy with my photos from Auldbrass Plantation and I truly hope you all have been enjoying them. Auldbrass is in Beaufort, SC - It's the only plantation that Frank Lloyd Wright designed, and it's owned by Joel Silver (Matrix, V for Vendetta, more) - I even got to see the Oscars he won for the Matrix movies in person!

My big news is that I am leaving in the morning to go to Beaufort, SC to visit one of the homes that Frank Lloyd Wright designed called Auldbrass Plantation. It's only open to visitors one weekend every two years so it's pretty special that I'm getting to go there. You can't take photos inside the home but I'll be sure to get some outside, it's a very unique looking house and I can't wait to show you! I love taking you all on my adventures with me, even if it's after the fact. If I can talk my sister-in-law into it, I want to visit the ruins of an old church as well that's on the way.

I've got some major projects coming up the next two months-

- Trip to Augusta, GA for a mini shoot-out with several alt models
- Summer Nymph shoot with Aleceyia
- Trip to Camden, SC to shoot a trash the wedding dress with Kira Alexis
- Gypsy shoot with a lovely young lady from Model Mayhem
- Winter Nymph shoot with Gabrielle (same one that did autumn) (tentative)
- Snow White shoot with Maharet Bloom in December

Not to mention some personal things-

- Doctor's visit to see about some surgery
- Barn Festival on a working farm on the 14th
- Getting my Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes to the pickup spot on time. We are doing two of them this year. For more info see [link]

- Thanksgiving Festivities!
- My birthday is on December 4th!
- Christmas shopping...a big pain in the ass if you ask me.

anyway just a little taste of my schedule, not to mention the daily grind which includes picking up my children from school every day which takes 1 1/2 hours due to them being in different schools, but I've been using the time I sit in the car line to listen to the CD's from the photography school I'm enrolled in now. Here's my babies on Halloween...

Hudson as Mario in a costume my mother made for him, including the hat!

Josiah as a Dalek from Doctor Who, he came up with the idea and design and my mother helped him sew it.

I ended up dressing up as a gypsy, one of those costumes you can always figure out last minute right? It was fun, though I don't think my kids enjoyed themselves as much as I'd have liked. We saw all kinds of folks down at 5 Points including Michael Jackson, all the Muppets, an Elizabethan woman whom I stalked trying to give her my card so I could photograph her, Princess Leia and Han Solo, lots of angels and demons, Curious George and the man with the yellow hat, all the villains from Batman, evil clowns, vampires and more vampires... and I can't even remember it all now. Oh! And I think it was Saddam Hussein with a big missile through the chest, he was there too! Hudson was thrilled because three "hot" (his words) Japanese ladies wanted their picture with him as Mario. Haha. He's too young to know what hot is, isn't he? He's just 10.

Tonight should be fun for my household, my husband's band is playing down at 5 Points (the Love Handles - he's the drummer for those of you that live in SC)(www.thelovehandles.org) - and my kids have great costumes that my mother made for them. Josiah is a dalek from Doctor Who and it's amazing! And Hudson is Mario from the games, my mother really did a great job on that as well. I don't know what I'm going to dress up as, I thought my husband and I were going to be Daddy Warbucks and Annie, I even bought a wig- but he isn't going to dress up anymore since we aren't going to the party after. I told him he owes me 15 bucks for that damn wig, because I just don't see myself using a curly red wig like that in my photography, but who knows!

I read in $Moonbeam13's journal that October is Self-Promotion Month, so I'm going to take the time to do just that in this journal and hope everyone that reads this takes the time to do so in yours as well!

Who are you?
My name is Pamela Borawski, and I am a 37 year old happily married mother of two sons. My sons are 10 years old and 11 years old and keep me very busy! Any advice from anyone that has or has had pre-teen boys I'd appreciate! I live in the beautiful state of South Carolina, only a few miles from the beach and the mountains, with scenic rivers and lakes right around me.



What is your artistic passion?
I love nature, it's where I find my "religion" you might say and it's also my muse, not only for my nature photography but for my portraits as well. Not to say I haven't done your normal run of the mill portraiture but I really love to get out in nature with my models, or bring nature into the studio such as in my Autumn Nymph series.



Why did you get into art?
I've been interested in art since I was a child, I remember a drawing of a dog my mother hung in her room that I drew when I was very young. I also delved in photography when I was younger, just a point and shoot with film - this was in the 80's. I really got inspired to do more in photography when I lived overseas in Cyprus in 1994, and visited Egypt and Israel. I took tons of pictures, and sent lots home to everyone over the months I was there. I loved catching what I was seeing on film. After I got married, I got really sick... when you are sick for so long with no cure, depression comes. I began to use photography to escape the depression for just a few minutes, hours sometimes. My mind and heart and soul was very dark, but the flowers and scenes and pictures of my children were bright and cheery. It's odd because now that my mental health has improved, I enjoy taking darker photos, and love graveyards.

Riley Philpot is a 9 year old that is being sent home with leukemia, the doctors can't do anything else for her. According to the doctors, she has run out of options. Her one wish from Make a Wish Foundation she asked for LOTS of letters/pictures to be sent to her home that she could read/look at. If you would like to be a part of this effort, please send Riley a get well card to the address below. She has been battling cancer since 2006 and went into remission, but the cancer has since come back and there is nothing more they can do. Also, if you have friends and/or neighbors that would like to be involved in this effort, please pass this along to them too.

In personal news, even though it rained during the shoot with Maharet, I think we got some good photos. We didn't get to do the whole shoot, so I'll be photographing her again sometime soon. She is part Native American so portraying one came easy for her.

Our heat is broken - yes that sucks very much. It's been pretty warm during the day here in SC but at night it's pretty damn cold, and I hate being so cold in the house. I have fibromyalgia and the cold makes my joints hurt really badly. My husband is going to the bank tomorrow to try and get a loan to fix the heat, it's going to cost us about $1000 so we have to see if we should just get a whole new system or put that kind of money into ours. Though to my contest winners, I promised you all subs and I will keep my promise!

In personal news, I got back from the SC State Fair a few hours ago, and my photo in the exhibition was SOLD! I am in shock, and so happy! We spent a fortune at the fair though so I am really not making that much haha...they've really upped the prices this year. $40 just for the four of us to get IN the fair - no rides or food included!! As you can tell as well, I got back from the beach all in one piece too. I've posted a few photos from the beach but I've been so busy I haven't had time to do much editing this week. I didn't get to spend as much time at Brookgreen as I wanted, not to mention a storm came up suddenly and I was lost in the gardens by myself! Scary! Tomorrow (well today since it's almost 2am) I've got a shoot with a lovely young woman named Maharet and we are doing a Rose Red theme.

ONE WEEK left to submit to the Sting Song Title Contest - see the bottom of this journal for all the info you need!

I'll be heading out Friday morning to go to Myrtle Beach, SC for a brief weekend vacation - just the girls! I have been looking for some models to shoot while I am there, but people aren't getting back to me or aren't available, very sad. I will be going to Brookgreen Gardens on Saturday, which is a lovely sculpture garden. There are some photos of this in my gallery but I was only there about a half hour last time I went, and just was crazy shooting while my husband hurried me up - so this time I'll have several hours to walk around and really compose my shots better. God I hope it's not cold this weekend!

Well, I survived my trip to NY this past weekend, we got home around 3am this morning. I had a good time, though I was pretty sick on Sunday. Our first flight to Dulles was kinda choppy and I felt so sick but the flight back to Charlotte was pretty smooth, even if it was several hours delayed.

I've got to get my two framed photos down to the state fair tomorrow. I'm entering "Vintage Daisy" and "Banishing the Darkness". I hope they get juried in, even just one of them in would make me happy! A ribbon would be nice too!

World AIDS Day 2009 will be held December 1, 2009. The theme this year is "Universal Access and Human Rights".



From the AVERT web site:

Started on 1st December 1988, World AIDS Day is about raising money, increasing awareness, fighting prejudice and improving education. The World AIDS Day theme for 2009 is 'Universal Access and Human Rights'. World AIDS Day is important in reminding people that HIV has not gone away, and that there are many things still to be done.

According to UNAIDS estimates, there are now 33.2 million people living with HIV, including 2.5 million children. During 2007 some 2.5 million people became newly infected with the virus. Around half of all people who become infected with HIV do so before they are 25 and are killed by AIDS before they are 35.

Around 95% of people with HIV and AIDS live in developing nations. But HIV today is a threat to men, women and children on all continents around the world.

I invite you to take part in a project that I am hosting in honor of World AIDS Day 2009. Why am I hosting this? It is near and dear to my heart.

My uncle was told he was HIV+ in 1990, and lived for 6 years after being told this. He died in June 1996, two months after my wedding. He had attended my wedding but was very sick, and two months later almost to the day he walked himself into a hospital, and never walked out. I didn't get to see him before he died, my wedding was the last time I saw him alive. I can't even begin to tell you how much my uncle meant to me, he was an ever present part of my life since I was a child, and it devastated me to lose him to AIDS. Of course officially they wrote he died of pneumonia, and listed AIDS second or third on the death certificate, but AIDS is what killed this very good and beautiful man.


This is a photo taken of me and my uncle at my wedding, the last time I saw him alive.

I have always been too broken up about losing him to do anything in his memory publicly, though I did name my first son after him in memory. I've lost friends because I have had someone die of AIDS in my family. People thought I should keep it quiet. But I am a stronger woman today than I've ever been and it is time for me to lend my support to AIDS research to help someone else's beloved uncle, or anyone else, to find the cure for this killer disease.

The above quote from AVERT says 95% of people with AIDS live in developing nations, but this was not a fact in the 90's and I know many that died of AIDS including my beloved uncle. I do this in his memory, RIP Jimmy Ray McClure Jones.

THE PROJECT - AIDS Charity Book

I have been a member of deviantART for over five years and I am constantly overwhelmed by the amount of talent on this site. It is heartwarming and challenges me each and every day to be better. What I would like to do is to ask you, the amazing artists of dA, to submit whatever you do best - whether it be traditional art, digital art, photography, photomanipulation, prose or poetry - and let me compile a charity book whose proceeds will go directly to AVERT, an international AIDS charity (find them here: [link]). Depending on how many participate, I will choose the submissions to be included in the book.



Your piece of art (and yes I consider literature to be art as well) should follow the theme of World AIDS Day - or be somehow related to AIDS. Red ribbons are beautiful things. Your creativity is a must, whether it is simple or more involved.

I still haven't even really scratched the surface of the shoot-out photos so I'm steadily working on that. I also had a new shoot with West and I'm really happy with how a lot of them turned out. October is going to be pretty busy for me, so that should be fun. I'll be out of town to upstate NY at the end of the month so there will be at least 3 to 4 days I won't be around.

I'm looking for a good site or someone with some experience with special fx makeup to tell me how to do ice/snow on a model. I am going to be doing my Winter Elf soon and I want ice to be on her cheeks and across her bare shoulders. I saw somewhere you can use sea salt, so not sure about that. I just really want it to look nice and wintery and icy.

Well we had a great turnout for the shoot-out I hosted this past weekend. There were lots of photographers and even though not all of the models showed up we still had some great models on Saturday and Sunday. I'm pretty sure I got to work with all of them at least for a few minutes so you'll be seeing them show up on my page as the weeks go by. Some of the models were the same from the Laurens shoot-out for those who remember me doing that in the spring - Morgan and Katie. Since I was hosting I didn't get to go around to all the locations like the other photogs (I was watching our stuff mainly) but Sunday I got to go to several places with Jackie and Brittany, and some at the Horseshoe of Murphie.

My big shoot-out is this weekend, though since I am in charge not sure how much photography I'll get to do unfortunately. I'm sure I'll sneak away for at least a few shoots! We are going to Saluda Shoals Park tomorrow for Labor Day, it's a beautiful park on the Saluda River so I'm sure we'll have a great time.

Had a great shoot with a model called "Draven Spell" from Model Mayhem. He was a great guy and had a lot of creative ideas. Still active on swap-bot.com and postcrossing.com as "druideye" - go figure right? And a friend of mine is asking me to seriously consider going back to roleplaying, but I'm just not sure. I haven't roleplayed in over a year, but it was a part of my life for a decade! I'm not sure what to do. I don't want it to overshadow my life again like it did in the past. And there are some real jerks and idiots around the 'net that I don't want to run into again.

I'll be quite busy soon enough though, as I am going to be starting classes soon - yes my nearly 40 year old ass is going to take online courses in photography!

Had a shoot yesterday downtown, with the them of "urban fairy". It was a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy the shots as I post them. I tried to tell a story with the series.

I haven't felt that great lately, probably due to overdoing myself on vacation and with the shoots. Due to my health problems, it makes it very hard for me to be too active and it wears me out when I overdo things. So I guess I need a vacation from my vacation. At least the boys start school this week so that will give me some needed rest.

Got back from a vacation last weekend with some great shots of the mountains and countryside - at least I like them! It was such an amazing place where we stayed, it is called Dillard House in Dillard, Georgia. Our room was lush and comfortable, the view from our back porch was breathtaking. We took a carriage ride, had a wine and cheese reception when we got there under the trees with flowers all around, and sat on the rocking chairs on the huge front porch enjoying the breeze and view. Dinner at the Dillard House was mouth watering, it was served family style - all kinds of bread, fried chicken, baked chicken, salty ham, tons of veggies, and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

We also had the chance to visit the Tiger Mountain Winery, a small winery in a valley. I bought a bottle of Viognier, so good. We drove through the vineyards, small but quaint and very well taken care of - flowers everywhere. Next day we went to Helen, Georgia which is supposed to be like an alpine village - I wasn't impressed. It was too fake, the buildings were pretty and Germanic but inside they were selling t-shirts if you know what I mean. No real crafts and such. We also took a hike to Anna Ruby Falls. I'm sure we did more than that but I can't remember everything right now!

Got three shoots this weekend, so for those of you who follow me for my portraits and not my nature shots, I'll have something for you this weekend. Still have plenty more nature shots for you though!

Some of my Ophelia shots have been put up, I have a couple more of Lydia in the river that I want to share and then that'll be it! I'm going to Georgia this weekend so I won't be around for a few days, but I should come back with some mountain and river shots.

I'm so happy because I found someone to help me with housekeeping and she starts next week! I am disabled, so doing a lot of normal things is very difficult for me. So some help will really make a difference. Plus my children are very messy boys!

So excited about the recent "autumn nymph/mother nature" shoot! I hope you aren't bored with the shots, I know I put up a lot. I handpicked the ones I liked the best out of over 250. My next shoot for my seasons theme is "Spring" but that's not until September. I might try and get "Winter" in before then, the same model that did "Autumn" wants to do "Winter" so who knows.

I've been having a lot of fun swapping my ATC's and recently joined swap-bot.com under the name "druideye" go figure right? So if you're part of that community, friend me! To find my ATC's check out ~pamelaski.

Heading to the mountains of Georgia this weekend, so I won't be around from Friday through Sunday unless there is internet at the cute place we are staying. It's called the Dillard House, and the restaurant is SO GOOD, they feed you family style. It's amazing. They have a little farm, and cottages to stay in, so we are staying there on the property. Pretty fun to travel to eat, maybe that's why I need to lose weight!

Had a shoot yesterday with Davana, down by the river by the zoo. Haven't edited them all yet, still need to work on a set. I have a big shoot tomorrow, the first in my series about the seasons. We are doing Autumn tomorrow night. Really looking forward to this.

Worst thing about this past week was that my house had a flood. It was awful, really awful. Unfortunately we didn't have flood insurance, you have to pay extra for it. So yeah we didn't have it. Never expected the flood to happen, guess you never expect anything bad like that. We ended up having to dig a huge trench in the backyard and put rocks in it for a drainage type thing. French drain I think it's called. Hopefully that will solve the issue and we'll never have a flood again. Horrible.

Oh, I'm excited to find at a local thrift store an old plastic toy camera! It was $1.50, and once I figured out how to open it I put in an old roll of film I found, so we'll see what comes out when I take some photos. I also found five rolls of undeveloped film that I've no idea what's on them!

Well my shoot didn't take place, unfortunately. I'm supposed to have one tomorrow, but people are having a hard time getting back to me it seems! I'm sure you've heard photographers complain about models being flakes, it's just part of the scene I guess.

After a double shoot last Friday morning, my family and I flew to NY which turned out to be quite an eventful trip, all I can say is don't fly jetblue. My schedule is booking up fast with modeling shoots and I'm very excited, plus we are going Saturday waterfall hunting in the upstate. Hope all you Americans have a great 4th of July! We'll have fireworks all weekend here I'm sure!

June 21, 09 HAPPY SOLSTICE!



I'm already trying to think of a good subject for my next contest. Got any ideas? I've been trying my hand at jewelry making, I would appreciate any comments on those deviations! Well my little sister made it to Florida all safe and sound, I'm going to miss her. She MIGHT be moving back in a month but I just don't know. I have some really cool shots of Michelle to post, my light blew during the shoot but I think they still came out pretty nice - I like them and that's what counts, right? Haha.

Summer is in full swing... HAPPY SOLSTICE! First day of summer, and it's in the low 100's here... so damn hot and humid that I can't really get out and do anything. I went shopping yesterday and I was sweating like a stuck pig which was not attractive at all. Three cheers for air conditioning in the South!

I'm finally through editing all the portraits (nearly 2000) from the Laurens shoot-out I attended. I now have to start burning CD's to send to each of the models. I'm heading out of town tomorrow to Caesar's Head, hopefully I'll have some nice APN shots when I get back; supposedly some great waterfalls and mountains there. The contest is almost over, there's just about a week left if you want to submit!

Last weekend's model shoot-out was amazing. I took nearly 2000 photos, so I'm still editing them and trying to put my favorites up for you to see, as well as the models and their mothers. I also have a few shoots this week and next, so the focus will be on portraits for a little while.

BTW....I STILL NEED HELP FROM all you wonderful artists out there!! A chance to have your art published!

I held a poll on my page for the next contest, and you voted for "Childhood Without Children"! I am a mother, I have two sons that are growing up fast. If you walk through my house, or step out into the yard you will find evidence that children do live here. This is what I want to see- the evidence of childhood but without showing any children. Please be creative! Think outside the box. If you have any questions, feel free to note me.

This is a PHOTOGRAPHY contest. No photomanips. No stock usage.
Two entries per account, please.
Please link to this journal, or the news article in your artist's comments.
Entries can be new or old.
If you donate a prize, you may still submit.
If your photo includes any picture of a child or children, it will be disqualified. Your photo should not include any people at all, just to clarify. It is not a portrait contest, more of a conceptual photo contest. Thanks!

It's probably a good idea for you to do a search of your user name on google images and see if people are stealing your art. I did it and I found many people using my images on blogs and web sites. I am going to start putting 'druideye photography' on my art so at least if someone steals it, it will have my name on it.

On another note, as I mentioned yesterday, please only critique my work, not the model. I photograph models of all shapes and sizes and races and there is no need to tell someone they are chubby or anything else that has nothing to do with the actual shot's qualities. I believe beauty can be found no matter what size you are, how old you are, or what race you are.

My husband and I will be celebrating 13 years of marriage on the 13th, Monday! So excited! We are going to Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden tomorrow to celebrate, so lots and lots of new flower pics coming. Today (April 1) I remember my best uncle Bebo, who died in 1996 of AIDS. Today is his birthday. He was a great man that meant a great deal to me, and it broke my heart when he died; such a wound that will never heal completely.
