To the great board it used to be.

I don't know who actually reads these thoughts but I have been asked to comment on why all of my nude work has been removed. I chose to do so personally as my way of protesting the levels of pure crap that is appearing on DA recently. Four years ago when I joined (and paid for a subscription to) DA rules where in place restricting the artistic latitude of images that were allowed posting on this site. ..now I wish the rules were back. DA has become nothing more than a venue for individuals to post snapshote pictures of their pets which have no redeeming artistic value. In addition the cheap show all form of nudity that prevails this site takes away from the artistic venue of DA. As one other contributor rightly pointed out " How can I defend against against crap like this when people will use it to justify their negative position to nude art in general." This member is right. The crap that we have seen becoming more regularly on DA takes away from the true artists who practice their craft. An image of a naked body is not automatically art the way some here would believe it to be. It is time DA returned to it's core phylosophy and that is work that is truly artistic.
