I've finished my piece. Now what?
Submit it to Community Projects > Projects & Clubs > Photolit Inspiration.

Once you've done that, send a note to me with a link to the deviation so that I can put it in my "PhotoLit Entries!" journal.

When does the prompt end?
This is still tentative, but I believe we'll have it run until the ninth of October.

How are we supposed to create a photo (or piece of literature) from a piece of literature (or photo)?
I don't have any instructions on how to get inspired specifically, but I will tell you that you should definitely try keeping an open mind and letting the feeling come to you.

I'm an amateur writer (or photographer). Can I still participate?
Absolutely! We encourage everyone to participate in the prompt. Tell all your friends

While looking through the gallery, I found several pieces that inspired me. How many pieces am I allowed to upload?
You can upload as many pieces as you'd like. If one piece inspires several of your own, feel free to upload all of them.

I write and take photos. Can I upload both literature and photography?
Absolutely!

While reading, I was inspired to write. (Or, I was inspired by a photo to take another photo). Can I still upload it to the Photolit Inspiration category?
While, that's not the point of the prompt, per se, I support inspiration of all kinds. So, as long as you credit the deviant as specified in the Guidelines, that's just fine.

Does my photo need to represent characters or the plot of the literature specifically?
Not necessarily. Inspiration can come from any point in the story, and I wouldn't dream of limiting its scope in any way.

Do we have the right to represent the characters of a piece of literature?
Yes. The authors of the literature have agreed to participate in this prompt, and if any problems happen to occur, I will accept full responsibility.

There are a bunch of deviations already in the Photolit Inspiration category? Are they participating in the contest?
No. I don't know why they're there, and hopefully, we can get them removed.

I love the idea of this prompt and want to sumbit a piece to inspire others. Can I still do that?
You can. Just send me a note with a link to the deviation, and I'll be happy to put it up.

In other news, with my lack of sleep and complete excess of free time I've actually been [dramatic pause] writing. So, once I'm coherent enough to edit it all for grammar, expect actual updates. Amazing, right?

A Bit of News Mixed with a Whole Mess of Words.

So, this May has started off being one of the busiest (and most fun) months of my life. Lots has happened, and lots has yet to happen, and it's all very exciting.

First and foremost, I am DONE WITH HIGH SCHOOL

Second, I have been strikingly active literarily. This summer I'm participating in first, a Creative Writing Workshop, and second I'll be (trying to) write for Numero Magazine, a local Peoria publication. Both of which mean I'll have much more to upload in the way of fiction and non-fiction.

So, the time has come, and there are now only FIVE days until I will no longer be in high school. Awesome, right?

At any rate, the weather is gorgeous, and though I haven't written much lately, I've every intention of trying to become and remain a touch more active than usual. So, expect to actually, maybe, possibly, see me hanging around and doing stuff on the site.

An added note: I'm trying to do some work on "Train Under Water" [see: [link] ], and could really use some help getting it done. I need people to read it and tell me what they most enjoy and most dislike about the story. The more critical the better, and as always, thank you for your time

Happy Holidays, all! Hope you're all well and good. And sincerest luck to all you travelers if your roads look as bad as they do here.

As some may have noticed there's actually activity going on my page. Crazy right? Anyway, I am offering up assistance for all prose writers in need of a thoroughly critical audience. I posted a thread in the Literature Workshop forum here [link] . If anyone's interested just let me know there or send me a note, but please realize that thorough prose criticisms can take some time, and that I do have some writers that I'm working on all ready. All things in due time.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read all of that, and again, enjoy your holiday season.
