Even if you do not own an exotic snake, you can let your voice be heard! Don't think that just because you own a reptile that is not on the list to be banned you are scot free- there is always the chance that even colubrids ( corns, ratsnakes, kingsnakes) could be eventually added, as well as the bearded dragons and the lizards of sorts. This bill kind of like a blank check- pass the bill now, fill in the details later... Is this the kind of government you wish to support?? The HSUS is looking for a foothold, and if they get this foothold, what will they consider exotic? This can hurt us even more down the road then you may realize.

Find your state representative and start writing your letters. Send them to the representatives that are supporting this bill!

But, it was a very VERY low count, so they want to determine if its a pathogen or insidental...i have no clue what they mean by incidental...

But what gets me really upset was that this girl made it through q-tine with no ill signs whatsoever. I had her paired up with my spider, so now I have to be concerned about my spider's health.

She has not been open mouth breathing, no drooling or smears... I just hear a little noise when I seperated the male from her cage and tidied up her cage- it wasn't constant.

I have kept her cage clean- i clean it after she soils it- may not be right that second, but I check cages after work.

Her temps were the same- I work with 90 warm, 80 cool, in the winter tho it goes to like, 78 in the snak eroom on occasion ( since we put plastic around the window, its been staying at 82ish.

What the heck did I do wrong?

But like I said, the vet and the other exotic expert she was talking with aren't majorly concerned, but I still worry myself sick. So, instead of going to the new years party and drinking, I decide it would be best to get that girl back in q-tine and thoroughly clean the cages that were in that room. I have 5 holding tubs, so I can do 5 tubs at a time. I notice half way through bleach cleaning that the water pressure was really low. My b/f talks to the maintenance man, the other 2 buildings lost power- and that is where the water pump is. And to make matters worse- there is chance we will loose water! So, I try finishing up as quick as I can.

Well, we lost water. So I cannot even feel better about making sure all the other snake cages are freshly sterilized, and i am sitting here bored out of my mind b/c I cannot even sterilize my snake room.

I think power is back on, but I keep checking the faucets, and nothing comes out.

:sigh: At least I finsihed one batch and didnty have 5 snakes w/o a cage to worry about.

I am so happy I found a spider morph at the show today- nice coloration and pattern, and no extreme high white sides ( he does have white sides, but not as high as I have seen others, nor as low as i have seen others) He is relitively reduced patterned too- only a few spots, but not many.

Oh, I did get a new snake, a pastel bp. she is beautiful! I'll have togetsome good pics of her up here soon.

She is about2 years old, I haven't measured her yet, but she is aprox five feet. She is very docile ( which is good seeing how she has to potential to get up to 10 ft long) and has a great temperment. The reptile store said she was relatively docile- except for when she is feeding. If she thinks someone is going to take her food away, she'll get pissy. Heck, Iwould toO!
Only 2 things I don't like:
1- she is not on frozen thawed. She is eating jumbo rats, and once she gets bigger she will take rabbits... and there is no way I am gonna prekill a bunny! So, i have to get her on frozen thawed. I managed to get my baby python on frozen thawed, andpythons are known to be picky eaters, so I shouldn't have problems w/ frozen thawed for th eboa- who aren't as picky eaters. Damien, our full grown python, has yet to switch over to frozen thawed. he just refused to eat last night . But, if he doesnt take a frozen thawed, we offer a prekilled in a few days, so he is not hungry. ( he is showing no signs of thinning out at all)
2- she wa salways fed in her cage. I do not feed in their cages. One reason- if feed in the cage, they associate the door opening w/ being fed, and I dont want her to mistake my hand for food- they have much sharper teeth them ball pythons, plus this snake is already larger then our full grown python, and would take my b/f to pry it off of me if she decided to constrict on me/my hand. ** we already have a rule of no handling her w/o some one else present.** This one is not such a big deal- she shows no signs of aggression when I take her out of the cage, and I just bought a huge tupperwaer thingy to feed her in. I had her in it earlyer today, she likes it. Plus, I use cypress bark ( i am having humidity issues, this increases the humidity b/c it reatians moisture more then aspen bedding), and that could be deadly if she ingests it.

But all in all, I am happy with her. She was mite/tick free, and she came with her cage which will hold her when she gets to a monster size. I just have to change th eplexiglass front to glass soon. The pet store said I have 6 months to a year tho, but I will be changing it shortly just because. Plus, I noticed part of th ecage is particle board, which will most likely start to warp after a while, but for now, it is good.

I didn't get a chance to take some photo's of her, but she is very actiive at night and she climbs on this large branch, so that'll make a neat photo ( with the exception of the cage being painted this ugly blue color) But i'll get some photos snapped of her really soon.

And of course, she is not named yet. LOL

Anyways,. my baby python is shedding. I went to take some photo's of him/her last nite, and saw it was working the skin off. That's why its eyes were looking all funky. I can never tell when the snakes are about to shed- i was only able tosee the cornsnake about to go into a shed- never the pythons. BUT that is good that its shedding- its skin will be nice a nd new and will be better to photgraph then.

I amslowely working on more art- ijust dont finish anything. I work on scethces so long that I get so bored w/ them. I only intend to take a small bvreak from them, but i tend tonever go back... LOL, but hey, i have been sketchinbg everyday this week... its justa little dissapointing to see how much you regress after being on a half a year art break.

Anyways, thats about it for now!

I am trying to keep up with my commenting. I have been slacking way to bad! I just cleared my deviations a few days ago, and as new ones come rolling in, I am trying to comment on at least 1 from every deviant. I may not comment on every single piece uploaded if you happen to be one of th eseveral who do mass uploads, but I will do my best to keep up with the new art you peeps through at me.

I do have 2 art pieces I am working on, one is of my snake and another is of my dragon char's. so, maybe sometime in th enext year I will finish them- that is if I don't get sick of them.

Now, i havent made a journal post about my new corn snake, and thats the snake thats missing, not my python. The last time i saw her was either tuesday or wed.

After eading stuff online, the other day when I though I heard something moving was not my imagination... it prolly was the snake moving around. But, seeing how I didnt know she was outof her cage ( plus a little intoxicated) i thought nothing of it. Plus, I dont remember if I was in the bedroom or in the spare bedroom drawing when I heard that.

So, i went to thepet shop, got 3 pinkies and have then in empty soda containers( 2 liter plastic ones, not cans) and I used the rat i have been thawing to scent the jars. Hopefully she'll come to them ( she was due to be fed today, so she is hungry) and i can get her back.

One bad note tho: i am in an apartment complex, AND there is a huge gapat the bottom of th edoor to the hallway... so she could no longer be in my apartment.

Now that Iknow she is missing, i'll be up tongith with my flashlight looking for her, since snakes are nocturnal.

Now I feel guilty for not handling her this week. I was busy with work to get stuff done for the festival, and I only opened her cage tyogive her water.

I think I found how she escaped. the screen top, tho it has locks, there is a little gap where the screen bends so you can only open half the top... i didnt notice that until I was looking today.

I hope I get her back!

Yeah, i did barf too, but only paret of that was due to the alcohol i think. i ate some really rank pizza befroe i went to bed...it didnt taste right. Plus, i didnt barf til the next morning, and i wasnt drunk then... but i had consumed a large amount of booze b4, but i managed to make it nto the bathroom before i yaked.

The reason I like here as an artist, first, she is very honest. She has no problems nor holds back on pointing out what I need to work on in my art. She really has helpful tips and imput on my art. Another reason she is an awesome artist is the style in which she draws. She draws with a realistic touch that any anime artist that is like me stives to achieve. I wish I could draw realisticaly! it woud so imprve my cartoony stle.

Take this piece from her for example: [link] ( sorry, i am not subscribed to da, so thumbs wont work) That hair! lookit that hair! I woul kill to be able to draw hair that god! well, maybe kill would be too strong of a word, but i a sure you get my drift.

She is always improving her style. She is doing what I shoud be doing! If only I could learn from her.... then I could be posting how proud I am of my works in my journal instead of some one elses...LOL. I need to do alot more studies to improve my style. But intil then, take a look at her artwork to see some beautiful finished pieces as well as sketches.

Also 's is a very nice person too... not stuck up over her art. That is a big plus for me.

as for what I am up to, I am really working on a story. Its going slow, but maybe i'll get a section up in a few weeks. I am also wrking on character design for one set of species for the story. Diego, the dragonish creature is one of the species in the story. The art for these char's are gfoing to be cartoony. I plan o makig Kane and those char's more realistic, but these are going to be cartoony... I still love drawing in an animeish/carttony style, so these will stay that way plus i just vision them as cartoony and not more realisticaly like kane and those char's.
I may get something up soon, but its not going to be perfect... i been having trouble with face proportions all of a sudden... egads.

Here is an issue: you can confirm by email. Easy, most places do that...well, my internet browsers STILL wont let me into aol. I already upgraded the internet explorer, and since i do not have a mac os X, i cannot get firfox or safari. So, getting into my aol accounts on my computer is out of the question. Fine. So, i had them call my mom ( whose phone # is on the account) to confirm. Once that is done, i change my password to somethng I would remember ( technically, i didnt forget my old password... i tried using that one for the new one, but they said i cannot change the new password to what it was b4,,, then why wasn't i able to get on??? egads) So I do that, and I see I have a limited access acount. So i cannot send any mney.

Finally I contact the guy selling the item and ask if I could send him a dolar to make sure my accout was working because I was getting a wierd messege. He says fine, so I send him the money... at east I try. So after about 30 minutes of: trying the help links to resolve the issue, no sucsess. I also try getting a new paypal account, and nt only did i have to get a new yahoo email adress b/c my normal one is already used for the first paypal account, i go to add my cradit card, and that one cannot be used because it is already used on my old account. So i try to delet that card, and I cannot.
So i call the help center, and after I get transfered severaltimes, hoping that the cell phone i am on doesn't run out of batteries, they re-activate the account... nothing was wrong! Apparenty, since i forgot my password... paypalmakes it next to impossible to do anythg without calling.

Well, I just sent him a dollar, and I am sure it works. Hopefully. if not, I amabout ready to throw something out my window!

So now I have a story writen on this laptop, and I cannot print it out ( the laptop has no cd drive more me to install my printer to it, and now no external zip disk is working)

So, i guess i wll not be able to get my stupid story printed out or uploaded or anything becase this pc laptop is just so damn retarded. I had never had any problems getting an external disk drive working on my mac.

I do have bad news tho... for me. I jut found out today that I am laid off from my job... its not permanent...but it will be for 4-6 weeks t least. I am hoping i'll get enough with the unemployment checks that I will not have to getr another job... I would prefer to just ride out the temp layoff till there is some work to do.

So, I am opening up commissions seeing how i'll have over a month of no work. However, my markers will only last til they last... I cannot garentee to be able to buy makrers as much as I did before. I can still do simple color, but none of the buy a marker just for a piece. For example: I dont have many pink markers at all, and seeing how i never really use them, ia m not buying a pink marker.

I can still check email and DA when I am at my mom's.... but this will be the pace it is at.... just once in a while. Everytime I come over here I am working on getting ym room put back topgether, and don't have much time to be commenting/uploading artwork. I hope people'll will still watch me, I have no intentions of abandoning this art account.

I tried checking DA at work, but they have dial up, and I froze their computer. So, that means my only option for internet is the high speed connection, and that costs alot more then dial up. Dial up is evenb out of the question for me b/c i have no landline, so it will cost about as much as the high speed...

So I will be very dormant on DA for the time being. I am drawing again, thankfully, but very slowley. I may have something to show soon. Hopefully next time i am online I will be able to look at more artwork, I rerally miss seeing what all my friends here are drawing. Its just that I cannot get too distracted from my room or it wont get done, and its taken me soooo long as is.

Um, I have been slow on the art thingy, I am actually starting up another story idea, but that gets me mad, I havent even finished the story with kane stan and my other characters yet, but ihave no desire to work on that story at the moment. I'd say maybe i need a break from it, but it already has been at least 6 months since i worked on it.

On another note, I was considering opening a print account, but I do not think I really have anything worth selling, or anything anyone would really want to buy. Your input would be appreciated if you have an opinion on this. Well, I am currently working ona couple of different pieces of art.... and my stinkin' copic marker for the medium grey is completly dead! I was part way coloring in th epants, and it died... thing is... this is only the third piece I used that marker for, and in th esecond piece, i noticed it was starting to go! Now, I know, or i was at least told, that copics are refillable... but still! I thought prisma colors dried out fast! I atleast get several more uses out of the prismas! P;lus, the copics seem to streak a hell of a lot more... Anyone have any suggestions? I knw working faster is a solution, but I am already working pretty darn quick.

I found an older drawing I did, and i think I am going to ink that soon. There are a few mistakes, but I am working on getting those fixed.

And gosh darnit, i wish i would work on my story a lot more then i do! I am almost done one chapter... but just can't finish it! Erg.

I attempted to computer color one piece as well, but I can no longer comp color stuff... i lost my patience for it, plus it does not look as good as I think it should.

Eh... I am kinda getting sick of my style as well, but that could just be me getting into one of my moods again.

This is for all those people that I watch.

How do you want me to crit your pieces? I am often times afraid that I will crit to harshly on peoples works. Now when I say harsly, I am not saying criting meanly... but just letting you know what looks weird or off or whatnot. I know some people may not want such a heavy crit, but some people may be up for it.

I do want to help other artists out with crits like the way I ask for them, but I just don't want to step over the line. Some people get all mad when you give them an honest crit for some reason.

So if you reply to my journal saying how you feel about this, I'll know how to handle the crit.

If some one wants to donate a pice of theirs to see how an honest crit would be like from me, just let me know so you all would know how I handle giving out crits.

egads... yeah, didnt we go over this already? I guess it would be the portrait of Don. I was challenging myself to do a more realiustic picture and doing it just in colo rpencils ( BTW, this was the piece that I had the comment on that ruined my day LOL)

Well, first off, I went to my drawign class tues nite, and I brought some of my work to show the person running it, and she informs me of a cartooning exhibit that will take place next year, and she'll give me dates... why? I went to yet another gwar show thursday. It was soo cool! It was at the silo, so not only was it closer then the elec factory, but it was also smaller, but that meant the audience got more soaked! I was right next to the stage, got an awesome vewi of balsac playing the guitar. I was wearing a brand new white l/s tee, and now it is completly red!!

The show was the same as the one in the elec factory, but they played alot of songs that i liked, so I was happy.

Some one brougtha 5-7 yr old kid... dont worry, he was not in the pit.. but oderus picked him up, then prenetnded that he was going to throw him back to his father... LOL. It was fun.

I bought a t-shirt that was printed too low, and a bumper sticker.

I want to go to another gwar concert already.

In case you haven't figured it out, I am back. LOL, I realize that I have never changed my journal entry since I left for vacation. Vegas was great. We went out on a lot of walks and drives during the day. At night, we hit the casino's. I didn't win It was agreat vacation, I got several photo's, and i am looking for the good ones to place up here.

I finally went to the art store and got some big paper and a few markers. I have a project I am working on, and now that I have the big paper, i can start working on it. I am going to be watercoloring, and I baught some new watercoors, the good kind this time, no cheapo stuff. well, my brushes are cheap, but i didnt feel like paying 8 bucks a brush at the ne store.

So in a few days, i hope to have it up. Maybe even a few pieces, sinc ei am working on quite a bit.

My freind makes costumes!! And they are really cute. I always enjoyed making costumes, from rocky horror to anime cons... and i always thought i was kinda good at making costumes...

One you saw the line art too, i dunno if i am gonna comp color that or marker... i dont know yet. the other one is probably gonna be a valentine's day thingy... since i missed thanskgiving, and i will miss my roll-over to the thingy on my counter. so yeah, you'll prolly have to wait til valenties day...if i ever finish it.. well, in an artistis block once again... I bet you all thoguth that I just drew hat pic of kane in Kane01... LOL, wrong!!!! I found it in my room, i drew it a few weeks ago, i just inked it and comp colored it.
I am working on stuff, so technically I am drawing, just not getting paast the sketch stage, but thats ok since the sketches are turning out good.

But here is my idea. Its with my story. I think I may go with the writing it as a book, and then try to get it published. BUT i may decide to make a web comic as well. I have to do a lot of research on this.
the reason for the web comic is trhere was a post in the forums with this one person asking if people would pay to see a comic, and majority of the peeps said they wouldnt with all the free ones out there. They even stated that it would be hard even if they provided an actual comic book.
But i dunno. I do have lots of time to think about it, seeing how I am just getting the outlineing done ( which I have fallen behind on as usual)
but if i do do the web comic, i am hoping to get help on it. i know a freind who is good at backgrounds, but that doesnt mean he'll want to help me... for free. LOL. I dunno. me just rambling. I am gonna work on my outline now.

Well, here it is, a long time since i drawn.. well. thast is a lie, i did draw a pic of Vince from FF7, but it is taking me forever to color!!!! I am working on it slowely each day. At first I thought it was b/c i just didn't want to color that pic, but that is not true.. i havent worked on my Don pic either... just not inspired to color.

..or to draw, really. In a way, it frusrates me. When I see the same dev up ( the WIP of DOn) i get so sick of looking at it, and i want to see something new there... but i don't feel like drawing.

I am not too upset with that because I am working on my story, but if i don't draw in a while, it takes me a bit to get back into it. I dunno... actually, i just thought of all that as I started typing... guess it has been sub-conciously (sp) on my mind..

Anyways... i plan on doping a chapter outline a day for my story. There is about 15 chaps, and i am done 1 and working on 2, so if i do 1 chap a workday, in about 3 weeks i'll be done outlining. BUT what is the real point in outlining? I mean, i know, it gets my ideas down, but i wrote several of the chapters already. I know i am gonna have to rewrite them, but i didnt even do a first draft of all the chapters.

THEN i have to decide if i want to keep it as a book OR do a big comic book.

I really want to do the comic book, but there are just soooo much aspects in a comic book that I would highly doubt I would get it one in a lifetime.

I have 1 freind who is an artist. That doesnt mean he will help me, he has his own ideas to work on ( plus he works all the time) (( oh, and i have been bugging him to get an account here, but he doesnt have net access! I wish you all could see his work!!! )) and if i had help, it would go a lot quicker... but i am very picky about who i'd let help with the comic, and besides the only artist freind i have is that one dude ( LOL, any hadesladies remember Chaos? that's him)

Sigh. I mean, i know it is not that difficult, but with 2 jobs I have very little time to do anything.

I dunno. I am not upset at all, just frustrated. Why did i bother writing this story? egads it is just digging at me to get finished!!!!

oh well. who knows, perhaps someday I'll finish the book, i only hope some company would publish it.
