I guess it was about time I got into this show.  At first it seemed kinda like another over-the-top stupid cartoon thing, but I had a buddy that made me watch some more episodes on the DVD, and some of the episodes are REALLY FUNNY!!

It was really neat that Cartoon Network had their own little "cartoon theater" way back when...you know when they would show little cartoon movies like The Hobbit, Race For Your Life Charlie Brown, and The Iron Giant...but one particular movie stood out among these...more well known movies...a film that just kinda faded into obscurity...I'm talking about Twice Upon a Time.

I can't believe it took me so long to find out that this whole series on youtube...and its on ANIMECHANNEL!!  Which means that its legal and probably not at risk of being taken down or anything, so thats cool.  Back in the day, I would watch this on Toonami any chance I got, because it had giant robots, cool animation, and unforgettable characters that made the show great.

I know that quite a few users around here use PaintTool SAI as a very VERY good resource for creating art with...looks like it can handle under very basic systems, and best of all...ITS FREE!! Sort of...  So whats keeping me from getting it?

Many of you have somewhat strange and vivid dreams at one time or another right?  I had a particular dream a couple nights ago which fit this category...it went like this: I was on a family road trip, and we kind of took a wrong turn or something, and ended up in this massive grassy field, the sun was shinning...not a cloud in the sky, and scattered throughout this massive field were all these 1950's-esqe futuristic semi-trucks and buses...thousands of them...and all were in different colors, lots of chrome...and were almost whimsical in design.

Hey, you guys remember ReBoot?  It was that cool little almost-but-not-quite-forgettable Canadian classic from 1994, and was the first half-hour FULLY computer animated tv series ever created...I loved watching this after school back when Toonami was still on, and for all you lucky Netflix subscribers, seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming!!

Another interesting piece of our childhood history is this nifty little device introduced for Game Boy in 1998...its Game Boy Camera!!  This little baby could take digital pics on your Game Boy in all its black and white 4 color pallet glory...you could alter faces to make your friends look all goofy, play games, animate, and do all kinds of neat things.

Max Fleischer, one of the great pioneers of American animation, and creator of many great cartoon icons such as Koko the Clown, Popeye the Sailor, and of course, Betty Boop.  I remember seeing some old Betty Boop cartoons on television and through those really outdated VHS tapes which were so poor in picture quality that it wasn't even worth watching...maybe.

Well, its come to my attention that the hit alternative rock group R.E.M. is now disbanded, ending its run with 15 albums, some of the strangest music videos ever created,  and a whole lot of fans that are really gonna miss them such as myself.

Why...is this little game...Angry Birds...SO POPULAR!!!!?!!?  They got plushies, shirts, and the game is featured in about a MILLION cellphone and tablet commercials...the creators of the game must be swimming in gold bricks and naked women (men?) by now.

Probably Cartoon Networks answer to go into competition with SpongeBob...The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack hit the air June 5, 2008 and went on to create 46 episodes until its end on August 31, 2010 with the series finale.  Since then they have shown very limited reruns...and now its not even apart of the schedule anymore...this show is less than 3 years old for poop's sake and its not even apart of the Cartoon Network lineup anymore...jeez what happened, was there a big ban on the cartoon or something?

Yeah, back when Toonami was oh so young and vibrant, we all got treated to the watered down, U.S. version of Dragon Ball Z, otherwise known as the "Ocean Dub" version.

I've grown up playing many game systems, some on platforms some on pc (not very many) but now that I've gotten older, I've accumulated an enormous collection of games and game systems.

The first consoles I grew up with was Atari 2600 actually...and GameBoy...god I love that bland, grey toaster...and then it just grew from there...I have about 12 different systems so far, ranging from the late 70's all the way up to the present...and 5 of those systems are portable ^^...now that we got that out of the way, how many different systems do YOU guys own?  It might be tough, and no, emulators don't count...

I've tried all kinds of different programs to create 3D with, free programs like Anim8tor were okay, but lacked function and had kinda quirky controls...I've tried stuff like Blender but...good lord its a hard program to learn...too many variables...and I never really bothered with 3DS Max...but then came a program from good ol Google called Sketchup, which has been around for quite sometime.  This is a 3D program primarily designed for creating architectural examples and interior designing, but you can do sooooo much more with it...given some great examples off of this site.

We've seen some fantastic groundbreaking films from Pixar/Disney almost every Summer, this year however (and I regret to say it), Pixar actually made...a mediocre movie, specifically Cars 2.  Now I've watched it recently in 2D (3D movies are far to expensive and hokey) and I thought it was okay, I love the chemistry between Mater and McQueen, it was very comical, but the film tended to focus on Mater, in fact you could scratch off the title "Cars 2" and put "Mater: the Movie" instead...

Or maybe you would...they have done some specials in the past, but these particular toons are more than likely probably banned from all tv because of the apparent and obvious racism toward the Japanese and use of material such as the swastika.

I find these to be very interesting if you haven't seen them already, but they are from Looney Tunes, the characters are voiced by the great Mel Blanc, and its in black and white!!  These cartoons can also get a bit naughty as well =D so heres a couple of cartoon shorts from WWII featuring that dunderhead of the U.S. Army: Private SNAFU...

...And now everyone has Sonic fever, including the Sonic Generations demo that should last for about 15 more days now...I think...more vids have been released that show that Generations does plan to re-release a bunch of Sonic's classic stages all thrown together into one spectacular game.

Along with the awesomeness of the updated graphics and music, many want to know what other stages will be included in the game, and I can only assume that many of the more well known levels will make it...but just for fun, here are some of the levels that I want to see remixed...

Well thanks to some dedicated people from the last journal, I have now learned that there is in fact a new Nintendo console coming out sometime next year...and they call it...the Nintendo U.

The successor...

Unveiled at E3 2011, Nintendo's newest bright eyed piece of hardware will feature not another Wiimote, but a whole other part of the system which features a screen with a stylus pen and buttons similar to the GameCube (and the same buttons from the Wiimote).  This means you will be able to take the system with you, thus its half stationary and half portable...pretty cool!!
