Anywho, I was surprised to find that I'll be done with uni for good soon as my last and only exam is in another 3 and a half weeks. It'd seem that Deakin's new trimester system does indeed make the uni year a bit shorter. It'll be somewhat strange finally being done with study and the like.

Armageddons coming up soon as well and I still have no idea what to do. I'm thinking something nice and simple is in order as I'm not in the mood to do a lot though its still tough to decide on anything. I went in to whinge about some pain and swelling on the left side of my abdomen and a couple of other things and left with a myriad of tests to do. An ultrasound to check and see if I have cysts on my ovaries (infertility here I come), an emg to check for carpal tunnel in my right hand, blood tests to check my thyroid levels as I apparently have a hand tremor and other prodding and poking of my abdominal/pelvic area whence I go see him next. Fun times really. The only thing that even vaguely concerns me is the ultrasound and so on as I'm pretty sure everything else is fine.

Anyway, that aside I realised the other day that theres only a couple of months or so left until manifest and I have yet to start anything. Quality as always. I'm still somewhat unsure about what I'm doing for each day though as things stand now my vague plans are:
Friday - Dawn (Pokemon Diamond/Pearl)
Saturday - Elincia (FE:RD)
Sunday - Zelos (ToS)

The only one of those thats a definate is Zelos as some friends and I will be doing a Tethe'alla group on the Sunday. We're just missing a Regal, though we're hoping to con someone into it soon enough =] The others are just ideas for the time being. I'm still not sure whether I'll be going along to Amaranth, though if I do I shall likely rewear Suzaku after fixing up the little things I skipped out on doing before Supanova.
Are any of you planning on coming along and if so, what costumes are you planning (if any)?

Lastly I'd like to say how proud I am to be a Victorian at the moment after hearing that we're apparently now the swine flu capital of the world. That and the fact that we've apparently been blacklisted by the rest of our country for the same reason. We love you too QLD, NSW, SA, TAS, ACT, NT & WA

Anyway, though its somewhat late I figured I'd give my rant on Supanova. I don't really have anything to compare to as it was the first time I'd attended, but it was pretty decent. It was a bit awkward to get to as there was some form of car racing thing on at the same time which left a lot of roads closed and public transport slowed but we managed. I ended up switching the days I was going to wear my costumes as I didn't get Suzaku's coat done in time for Saturday so I wore Enki on the Saturday instead. Speaking of which, I still need to get some photos of it as there were non taken on the day.
Not much of interest happened on the Saturday as we just wandered around because of how tired we all were, though Sunday was a bit more interesting. We were slightly more recogniseable and so we got some interesting photo requests. One particular person asked if he could have one in which he was first kneeling to Euphemia lovingly and then another of him pretending to punch Suzaku. It was amusing at first though the humor didn't last long when he then proceeded to re-enact Suzaku's trademark spinning kick and ended up scraping the side of my pant leg with his shoes. It left an awful dirt stain which thankfully washed out, but I wasn't able to remove on the day >=[ Needless to say I wasn't all too pleased.
I also managed to get my Manifest pre registration done as they had a stall there over the weekend so it all turned out nicely in the end despite all the last minute rushing lol.

Apart from that not a lot is new. Uni work has started to pile up and the fact that one of my groups is being really indecisive about what we're going to do one of our assignments on isn't helping. I fear that my Easter break will be spent rushing through last minute assignment work. Along with aforementioned uni work I need to start putting together something for Animania next weekend. I've gotten materials and the like together for something reasonably simple and hopefully I'll get it done over the next few days. Though sadly the only wig I could find in time was from a random party store (as anything I ordered online wouldn't have arrived in time) and its super shiny which irritates me greatly, though I'm hoping it won't be too bad once its been styled ;_;

Either way I'm looking forward to the end of this month as the majority of things will be over with by then and I'll have time to start on other things and just relax.

Not too great a deal has occured since my last entry. The summer holidays went well and were full of much fun and well appreciated time away from uni. Today however was my first day back and what an uneventfull day it was. Between the 4+ hours of travel and usual lack of quality that Deakin provides, not a great deal occured. I went to my first Animating Motion class and learned of the fact what I had assumed to be quality animation skill from Disney all these years was often rotoscoping and of the fact that you can perform said rotoscoping in Flash. Who'd have known. I was pleased however to discover that one of my 9am classes had been changed to 2pm. I no longer weep at the idea of having to wake up at 5am to take a 6:45am train to uni.

On a more interesting note, ~yoru-yume and I have proceeded to resume progress on our Supanova cosplays since her return from holidaying in Japan a week or so ago. I've decided to go both days afterall as I've found a nice and speedy costume to do for the other day which I only needed a wig and some assorted beads/cords to make a necklace for. Hopefully the wig shall arrive in time as theres only 2 and a half weeks to go. After which theres Minifest and Animania. The latter of which we'd been planning on entering in the WCS, however due to recent developments we've chosen to opt out and work hard to at least try to get the costumes we had planned for it ready in time for the convention and normal cosplay competition. Its a bit dissapointing but theres always another year when we have more time etc.

Either way, thus far my cosplay plans for the aforementioned conventions are as follows:

I was reading through my Motion Capture textbook on the way back from the city today and there was a portion in there where the author said that back in the day when Motion Capture was first introduced and wasn't being used as effectively as it could - therefore making life hell for animators who had to deal with it - they came to call it "The Devil's Rotoscope". I found this to be rather entertaining and thought it'd make an amusing and catchy title.

And lastly, I'm going to be finaly having a photoshoot next weekend with my finished up Midna costume. I've been dying to do it since September as I would really like to have some decent, photos of it but have had to wait till I had the time to both finish up what I didn't get done in time for Manifest and get out there to take the photos. Soon after which I hope to get around to finishing my Ranulf costume and doing the same with it. Either way, with luck I'll soon be spamming my gallery with such photos

Meanwhile, uni is almost over bar my exams. That presentation I'd been worried about turned out to be a pack of lies as there was pretty much no one there save us students and our lecturers. All that worry for nothing. I also managed to get my 3D animation done in the span of 3 days/10 hours. Its so very lame and highly amusing. I shall upload screencaps soon for the entertainment of all.

Secondly, as soon as exams are over I'm going to finish off some costumes/start a heap of new ones. Look forward to progress rants and eventual photos.

Lastly, I've finally gotten around to starting to play Super Mario Galaxy nearly a year after I got it (very slack I know) and its proving that I have very little patience. All those worlds where you have to do tedious manuvering are driving me insane! Hahaha. Ah well, I'll probably leave it be again now that I shall be starting my hopefully hardcore exam study. And with that I'm off!

Its the first three groups of people thats making me feel incredibly uncomfortable and I know my dread will only increase the closer it gets to the day. I dislike presentations enough but this will take the cake of the most awkward one ever. My informal Choreography of Digital Space presentation in a few days will be so much more enjoyable and stress free. I look forward to it.

Anyway, now that I've done my stress-venting I'm off to finish some MotionBuilder stuff before I get back to my modelling. Look forward to seeing the most lame and effort lacking 3D work evar within the next few weeks lol

Theres only another 4-5 weeks until my semester long group projects are to be presented both of which are coming along nicely. The first is a website for a charitable organisation that deals with young women and I was pleased to find that they'd chosen my design for it, so I'll post up a link to it when its finaly up and working, though that may take a while depending on when the client gets the content into it. The second being a motion capture related project in which we're going to be bringing my idea for an interactive instillation to frutation. Or so we hope haha. I'll likely have something to put up from that as well.

Anyway, on a more relevant note I'll soon be starting work on some form of professional portfolio to help me gain employments after I finish up at uni mid next year so be expecting an influx of all sorts of things ranging from webdesign to 3D modelling. More of the latter than anything else though as I need to develop hardcore skill. I'm also planning to brush up on my flash and so there will be many animations/games to be had. The first of which will likely be a dress-up game as I've been wanting to do one for a while. Any suggestions for a character to use?

Either way thats it from me for now. I thought it was about time I posted another journal seeing as theres been nothing new from me in a while.

I can understand wanting to stylise characters and such to fit the theme of a film, but eh. They looked more like some form of fan-created dark elf mixed with something else. Mind you everything else about them was appropriate. I absolutley LOVED their costumes. Especialy the red waist sash/war emblem thing the prince had on <3 <3
I was also rather fond of this characters design and the way its scenes were shot [link] Though I must confess, I kept thinking of Micheal Jackson due to its nose/long black hair haha.

Anyway. I'm just that little bit closer to finishing off a couple of the costumes I'm in the process of making. Though my work load has increased by 2 due to finally being able to steal away a friend of mine so she can get the fabric she needs for her costume which I'll be making for her. That and another quick one I'm whipping up for her birthday party that I may well re-use on Manifest friday.

On a far more interesting note however, I commenced the making of my Manifest costumes late last week. I ended up deciding on Midna (Zelda: TP) and Ranulf (Fire Emblem: PoR/RD). Rather than do the smart thing and begin on Midna first as its likely to take longer due to the fact that I'll have to make my own patterns for most of it, I started off with Ranulf. Thus far the pants and his little orange and green striped skirty/sash thing are done with a few other small tid bits completed. Hopefully enough both will be completed by Manifest which is in late September. On top of my own costumes, I need to make a Tsukasa (.Hack//sign) one for a friend for that weekend. Should be fun trying to squeeze it all in between uni. In the meantime, should I upload progress pictures as I make the both of them?

And thats about it for now. There will be a few things being uploaded over the next few days of the artish kind as I'm going to try and get some things done for Doujicon this weekend.

We got best group on Thursday as Maya and Mia Fey from Phoenix Wright and runner up best group on Saturday as Soi Fon and Yoruichi from Bleach. The latter of which stunned us when the called our names as we really weren't expecting it as we had had a lot of angst the night/morning before regarding our wigs.

Either way, there will soon be photos uploaded of said cosplays as soon as we get our hands on some photos. We're waiting for the photos from the Gencon photoshoot to be posted so we can take some of their Thursday ones as we didn't manage to take any of ourselves apart from a couple of us in the cafe area being foolish whilst eating. So the Bleach ones will probably be up first as we have at least a few we took just before departing, though I wouldn't be surpsised if they too were mostly just silly photos that didn't show costumage clearly haha.

1. I have a slightly obsessive compulsive habit of wiping surfaces with my hands. I'm doing it to my keyboard now as I type haha! It is a habit which irritates my family greatly, especialy when I'm at the computer as thats when I do it the most.

2. I'm still afraid of the dark to some extent. Always expecting something to be around the corner and the like D:

3. I'm rather scared of dogs. Far to many unpleasant experiences in my youth have left me with a fear of them. Though I'm comfortable enough with dogs that are with their owners/belong to someone I know, all it takes is a little growling or barking and I get frightened.

4. I dislike/am not very fond of chocolate and many other sweet things. There are only a few sweet things I'll eat and even those are eaten very rarely and in small quantaties.

5. Though I can understand my first language (Macedonian) perfectly well when its spoken to me, I constantly forget words/get muddled up when I'm speaking it to others nowdays. Probably because its been so long since I've had to speak it.

6. I'm 20 and still haven't gotten my drivers license. I've been a tad lazy about it.

7. Apparently I have a non-Australian way of speaking which leads others to believe I'm an immigrant of another English speaking country. My favourite guess is when they ask whether I'm from America. My friends and I are always amused by that one as its the least likely of the lot as there is nothing American about the way I speak/pronounce words. I think its just my tendancy to pronounce things phoneticaly/not skip letters in a word or abbreviate things into a slur. Regardless, I blame it on my being foreign.

8. I have been known to coerce others into doing rather idiotic yet hilariously entertaining things and begin long lasting ongoing jokes at ungodly hours of the morning (usualy between 1-4am). There are several videos/photos lying around that are evidence of this. Some of my favourites being when ~Moggleberries and I tried to dress as spartans using whatever we found in her bedroom. A doona makes a fabulous cape.

9. Most of my spelling errors are due to my tendancy to spell things phoneticaly/as they are pronounced. Much to the irritation of ~vauny-vaun. Bought instead of brought and so on.

10. And I shall use this last place to inform you all that I expect friend codes from those of you that own SSBB as of Thursday. Yay Brawl.

Enough of that though. Saturday that just passed was Animania and I was talked into wearing my Sakura costume for the re-doing of our Tsubasa cosplay. I hadn't planned to at first though after bringing the costume along anyway I ended up doing so. After the day was over I had decided to dispose of it somehow as I never wish to have to suffer through wearing it again. Its not that I dislike the job I did in making it, I just really really dislike the character along with many other things. Its at this point in time that I'd like to point out that I didn't choose to cosplay as said character, I only agreed to do so as a favour to some friends who had a gap or two in their group cosplay last year. Never again. Never again.
Despite that Animania was reasonably interesting for a small convention and there were many wonderfull costumes to be seen. The most impressive being the two that won the qualifying round for the WCS. It was almost inspirational to see such quality. Makes me want to do something equaly impressive someday haha!

Speaking of cosplay, I think I've pretty much decided what I'll be doing for Manifest this year:
Friday - Momiji (Fruits Basket) or Linebeck (Zelda: Phantom Hourglass)
Saturday - Midna (Zelda: Twilight Princess)
Sunday - Subaru (.Hack//Sign)

Friday I'm not really sure about as it almost seems pointless to cosplay as I'll only really be there to pick up my pass, though the two are both equaly midly impressive cosplays that are ideal for such a day. The Linebeck one is all done apart from needing a wig and some boots.
Sunday I'll be dressing to match Dana in her Tsukasa cosplay which I'll also be making so that should prove interesting. Though I've yet to find anywhere with an appropriate wig. Speaking of which, finding a long orange wig without a fringe is proving to be extremely difficult. Should any of you know of anywhere I could find one, do let me know.

On the topic of conventions and cosplay, it'd seem that while visiting my dear wife this year there will be some new-to-Australia convention called Gen-Con on. It goes for 4 days apparently and so we have decided to seize the oppertunity and go there in cosplay for at least 2 of the 4 days. Thus far the only ideas we've had are:
Mia (~vauny-vaun) and Maya (me) Fey - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Lenalee (~vauny-vaun) and either Allen or Kanda (me) - D.Gray Man
And others which I've forgotten

The first is one we shall most certainly be doing as it fits ever so perfectly. The second is also rather likely though I'm not sure which of the two I'd rather be. I'd originaly planned to go as Miranda, though there would be a lack of continuity in uniforms as ~vauny-vaun would be making Lenalee's first exorsist uniform. That and it'd be far easier for me to quickly whip up either of the other two costumes haha. I dunno though, what do you lot think? I'm leaning towards Kanda more so than Allen.

I'd also like to sit down and organise some stuff for Doujicon this year, though I don't know if I'll have the time and motivation to spare between working and doing my uni stuff. Speaking of uni stuff, theres an assignment I should be finishing. And so with that I'm off!

Art electives D: I haven't done any form of art subject since high school and that feels like it was so verrryyyy long ago.

I was looking at the list of DVD's being released next month at work the other day and I was surprised to find that a lot of the things that were only in the cinemas a few months ago are coming out. Golden Compass for example. Its almost impressive how quickly they're being flung out nowdays. Then again I'm not surprised. They probably have to to keep up with the pirates. How I love it when someone returns a DVD that they've rented from the our store with a burn't copy of the disc inside. Nothing sussed. You totaly didn't take this home to just make a copy. And its always really really bad movies you wouldn't want anyway.
They're about as amusing as the people who try to pick up and walk away with the PS3 from the BluRay display. Smart thinking, especialy when theres a solid metal clasp holding it onto the stand. Some people never cease to amaze and humor me.

I really need to finish up that short comic thing and I need to whip up soon enough. Though mildly exiting uni work awaits. I need to catalogue and compare allll my old board, card and video games over the years. If thats not an easy HD I don't know what is.
And with that I'm off for I grow increasingly hungry.

I've recently aquired many a materials/supplies needed to run off prints, make bookmarks, cards, badges etc etc etc. All in preparation for motivating myself to whip up some goods for a new-ish comic/art convention being held here around July this year. I'd hoped to put together some things last year but a severe near half year long artists block prevented that good and proper.
Anyway. Apart from original work which doesn't really need outside input, I'd like to ask those of you who'd care to comment what sort of things appeal to you artwise. Be it things such as mermaids, elves (things im sure there will be an abundance of already <3) or fanart related stuff. More so the latter I guess. Of the small amount I plan to put together I'd like to know what others would actually want. If I just drew what I liked, I'm sure I'd end up with a heap of things people have barely heard of or care for haha.
So go for gold and leave suggestions for me to mill over. I'd appreciate it greatly.

Your hardcore-awesomeness knows no bounds.

So what interesting things have occured to me in these 9 months of journal-lessness? Not a great deal acctually. Though here are a few things anyway:

- Visiting my dear wife and while there discovering that I don't particuarly appreciate rollercoasters. Though I can proudly say I've been on the Lethal Weapon, so I've had at least one hardcore experience before retiring from rollercoaster riding for a while.

- Getting a new job at Blockbuster. Its a DVD/Game rental place for those of you who've no idea. The position of Duty Manager allows me to be slightly ruder to rude customers.

- Buying myself a DS and Wii. At least one of the two is in my favourite color (blue). I demand the exchange of friend codes!

- Cosplaying for the first time, which was fun apart from the fact that I was a character that I don't particuarly like. I'll have to get some decent costume photos up later on.

- Finishing my second year of University and finally getting my course transfer into Multimedia.

- Getting that much closer to going for my driving license. Even if I am a couple of years late haha.

- Meeting new peoples and doing new things in general.

There really isn't a great deal to say that'd be of any relevance lol. Either way I figured it was about time I made a journal. I plan to upload a lot more this year, and to upload things I've drawn for myself or for enjoyment. After I finish the last few requests etc that I owe that'll be it for a while unless the suggested item interests me.
I'm thinking of going along to this thing they've started to run here in Melbourne called Doujicon. Its an art/comic convention of sorts. I've missed out on going for these past two years cos of work but no more lol. I'd like to go at least once ;_;

Anyway, I've got some Uni work to rush off to do but I'll scatter a friends list and club list at the bottom of this journal to compensate for the lack of color or interestingness in general.

Today I was purchased a new computer. Which is good I suppose apart from the fact that I'm now burdened with the plague that is Windows Vista. Its eating my ram ;_; My poor ram..
However, one thing I find handy is the new monitor. I thought 19inches was a lot. I now have a 22inch one <3<3
Its been rather bothersome trying to find stuff on Vista cos they've renamed and or relocated some of it. Very confusing indeed. That and the constant need to approve everything it does. If it were a person it'd probably be something along the lines of:

Vista: Hey Liz, can I scratch my ass?
Me: Yes.
Vista: Mmk. Are you sure?
Me: YES!

I've sworn so many times today And I don't normaly swear much if at all!! I feel ashamed lol.
I'm somewhat irritated that I forgot to salvage all my fonts before I rebooted the other pc before handing it over to my sister. Now I have to go find some more. Vista doesn't even have Arial Narrow! The outrage!
It also won't allow me to install Open Canvas or Painter Classic because "The operating system does not support" the software. Bah I say!

Its been a while since I last did anything to my page apart from upload that silly deviation lol. So here I am making a journal entry to fill the void.

Last week was so much fun. came down for a week and a bit and we did a heap of stuff involving many others. I also gave blood for the first time on Wednesday last week. And nearly passed out lol. Apparently I hadn't drunk enough water before hand, but thats to be expected when donating blood is suggested half way through lunch.

We got mobbed by giant ducks on a trip to the park, rampaged through the city where I found an awesome stuffed Ram and just lurked here and there. I also cut my hair D:

Thus far I've spent this week rushing about and calling people and inviting them to birthday related celebrations and charity fund raisers. Its so confusing. I've no idea who I've invited to what and who's going to what. I'll find out on the days I guess XP

Speaking of which. I'm 19 on Friday. Gah I'll only be one year away from 20. That sounds so old ;_;

I'm looking forward to Uni starting again, mostly because it will mean having stuff to do. Though I've yet to hear of a definite starting date. Laziness. Soon enough I'll hear from them. That or I'll ask tommorow when I go to sell of a text book. Har har.

In other news I agreed to join a friends group cosplay this year. I thought it'd be an interesting new thing to do. Though I also fear it.

Only a spoonfull but thats not the point. I've noticed that everything thats mushy or liquidy food wise tastes the same. It sucks.

came and saw me the day after the surgery. She was the first other than my family to witness my swollen face. My jaws was all squarishly shaped so I looked all rugged and handsome like a man. Now it just looks like I have a couple of ping pong balls in my mouth on either side lol
I also recived 's care package the morning after my surgery. The awesomeness.

But eh, I have very little to do. The medication I was prescribed has been making me feel really out of it. The box says somethin along the lines of 'May affect mental alertness or co-ordination'. Cursed side effects. Its really unpleasant. What sucks more so is the fact that I have to rest and such. That and the salt wash I have to run through my mouth every two hours.

Enough whinging about that though. I got to vote today for the first time. It was rather uneventfull. I was slightly dissapointed.
I also preordered my copy of Zelda for gamecube on Wednesday morning. Its out here on the 14th of December. Not too shabby I guess. Only a week after the Aus release of the Wii and such.

I should draw something sometime soon. Hmm.

Perhaps its just my warped sense of humor or something, but I do look forward to it. I'll finally be able to use the awesome straws that ~Moggleberries got me earlier this year for that purpose.
The only part of it that worries me is the anesthesia. I hope to god they just gas me. I'm not fond of the idea of needles being shoved into the back of my hand. Something about it unsettles me.
And so I ask of you all for any ideas as to what can be eaten/drunk through a straw. Seeing as apparently I'll be living off food through one for a couple of to a few days.

One thing I'll have to make sure of is that I get to keep the teeth afterwards. I've already refused to sign them over as samples to be used in teaching dental students and so I should rightfully get them afterwards. Afterall, they're mine and a part of me! They can't possibly refuse my request. I can imagine their reaction to me asking to keep them afterwards.
Dentist: "Why would you want to keep them?"
Me: "So I can keep them in a jar and rattle them at small children."
Dentist: o_O

I just hope the asswipes don't get any smart ideas like "Hurhur we shall dispose of them while shes still unconcious!1!1one!!"
Even afterwards when I have a mouthfull of gauze and cotton I shall demand my teeth!! Just because I'll be incapasitated doesn't mean they won't have to face my wrathful vengance if they fail to comply.

I also look forward to documentating the whole event. I shall make a journal of awesomeness. Its a shame ~Nyx408 will still be in Japan at the time. I was hoping to make a day of it. Yet again, excuse my warped sense of humor. Its such a shame it will be long after halloween. Otherwise I'd be able to frighten the small children that come begging for candy. Heh..

Other than that, Uni is over for the year! Huzzh! It has been for a while now but thats not the point. I just have exams left and then I'm free as a bird. Free I say!!
I'll leave it at that because I've forgotten if there was anything else worth saying lol. Tata!
