Was in the Best Buy and had to decide between a PS3 and a 360 - ultimately went for the 360 because I feel it does wireless controllers more gracefully than the PS3.

I've been using v7 since they launched it for beta users like a month ago; perhaps I'm just used to it, but to me the site feels and handles exactly like it did before, just better. Usability is better, UI is sleeker and simpler, and functionality, especially message centre is vastly improved.

Frankly, I don't get what there is to bitch about? The new fullview and browse methods are fantastic; load any sequence of images (from deviantwatch to collection to gallery) and browse them using keyboard? I've had it around a week now, and it's pretty cool. Does it do anything my iPhone doesn't? Not that I can tell. Is it basically just a huge iPod touch? Yeah, as near as I can tell. Is it a magical and revolutionary product (I can't believe Apple are actual using this as the tagline)? Well, it's certainly pretty cool, but I have yet to cast a spell with it.

The most important question, I suppose is; is it useful? Do I need it? No, not really.

I bought it for a few reasons;

1) It's a wonderful portable folio. So Chris Knight and I are going to open our own little print shop in the next week or so. It's going to be focussed on our collaborations from the outset, but we're going to add some individual works to it and maybe even get some of our buddies to throw some work in there too. Have had some fun meetings, some with :devspyed:, some without. In a way I wish we had more time here to explore, but I've already visited the studios and people I came to see, so prob for the best we're headed back to LA tomorrow.
