It was an awesome experience and i hope to come back the next year because there is so much cool stuff to see and enjoy. I got my portfolio reviewed by a couple of different companies who gave me great feedback and were very interested in doing some proyects with me, so i´ll let you know as son as one those things come to realization.
Also i met a couple of my favourite artists as Lesean Thomas, Sanford Greene, Jim Mahfood, Nathan Fox and i made some new talented new friends too.

Muy bien deviants, ya estoy de vuelta de la convención de San Diego.

Fue una experiencia increíble y espero poder volver el año próximo porque hay muchas cosas geniales que ver y disfrutar.

La organización del evento es increible y asi se toque hacer filas para entrar tienen todo tan controlado y bien manejado que la cosa se mueve a buen ritmo y no toca esperar tanto. Al recoger el Badge correspondiente de cada día uno puede dirigirse a donde mas le llame la atención y empezar a disfrutar de todo lo que la convención tiene para ofrecer. Uno puede meterse en las conferencias que las distintas compañias tienen para hablar sobre como hacer parte del medio o para actualizar a los fans sobre cuales seran los nuevos proyectos, también se puede entrar en las conferencias de las nuevas peliculas que van a salir pronto al mercado. Por ejemplo estuvo Peter Jackson para promocionar la nueva pelicula que se encargo de producir sobre extraterrestres Distrito 9.
Si se quiere hacer parte de la industria del comic esta por supuesto la zona del portfolio review donde distintas compañias estaran pendientes de revisar el trabajo de la gente para poder escoger con quien quieren trabajar en un futuro.
Los cosplays son increibles y muchisima gente se disfraza, desde los mas chicos hasta los mas grandes y se de todos los personajes que uno se imagine. Por supuesto que los cosplays más populares son los de las niñas con los que todos quieren tomarse fotos.
Se puede conocer a todos los artistas involucrados en el medio del comic y estan ubicados en distintos stands, booths y artist alleys por toda la convención, se pueden comprar comics, jueguetes, afiches, video juegos, obtener autografos, conocer gente famosa del medio del comic, la animación, peliculas, de todo.


Con respecto al cuento al que yo iba, les comentare que mi portafolio fue revisado por algunas compañias que encontraron mi arte muy interesante y quieren hacer algunos proyectos conmigo así que tan pronto se realicen les estaré poniendo al tanto de estos.
También tuve la oportunidad de conocer a algunos de los artistas que más me gustan como Lesean Thomas, Sanford Greene, Jim Mahfood, Nathan Fox, Chamba, y conocí nuevos y talentosos amigos.

I´m traveling tomorrow to be at the San Diego Comicon!!! How cool right??. Its a huge deal for me and its the biggest acomplish of my life. I´ll be meeting a couple of my favourite artists, buying lots of comics, books, toys, taking pictures of hot cosplays and most important of all, showing my comic portfolio to get it reviewed by the most well known companies in the bussines. So i´ll tell you all how did it go later.

Estuvimos en el evento de sofa 2009 con el grupo de Nahualli Comics y estuvo a la altura [link] Conocimos a talentosisimos artistas del comic colombiano como Alejandro Mgnz y vimos su espectacular dibujo de los Darkstalkers para el libro tributo, [link]
También tuvimos la oportunidad de charlar un rato con el dibujante de Zuda comics Juan felipe Salcedo quien nos dio algunos tips y datos curiosos para ser mejores en la ilustración de arte secuencial y comic. Hubo de todo, Transformers, Star wars, muñecos, Yumma Yumma toystore, comics, colección de Batman, video juegos, muñecos en plastilina, Cosplays, de todo.
Luego les estare ampliando la información al respecto. En la galeria subi un dibujo sobre un cosplay que me gusto mucho en el evento.

Entre el 23 y el 26 de abril se presentará en el centro comercial Outlet BIMA la primera edición en nuestro país de SOFA, el Salón del Ocio y la Fantasía.

Los tiempos cambian, los jóvenes cambian y sus gustos y formas de utilizar el tiempo libre son cada vez más complejos, resultado de la apabullante aceptación y adaptación a nuevos sistemas de interacción personal en donde la web y la tecnología se convierten en el mayor filtro de comunicación.

Así mismo, canales artísticos convencionales como la pintura y la literatura se quedan pequeñas al intentar amontonar a nuevas generaciones urgidas de alternativas culturales, por esta razón, un espacio es abierto al público en general dando cabida a nuevas y vanguardistas tendencias sociales y pedagógicas.

SOFA, el salón del Ocio y la Fantasía en este año convoca a 7 de estas culturas alternativas y a todas sus comunidades: ilustración Japonesa, literatura fantástica, juegos de video, juegos de rol y estrategia, ciencia ficción, comics y art toys.

Durante cuatro días, estudiantes de colegio, fanáticos especialistas y la comunidad en general, vivirán una experiencia colectiva en la que conocerán a fondo nuevas propuestas de manejo del tiempo libre a través de exhibiciones, conferencias, talleres y demás actividades relacionadas, que con uso adecuado pueden llegar a generar valores ciudadanos e intelectuales.

Invitados nacionales e internacionales como Francesca Dani, modelo italiana profesional y campeona mundial de cosplayer, Mario Castañeda, actor mexicano de doblaje en series como Futurama, Dragon Ball Z y McGyver y Lorena Alvarez, ilustradora colombiana reconocida por su trabajo en Revista TU de México, entre otros especialistas, serán los encargados de difundir sus conocimientos a los asistentes.

El salón del Ocio y la Fantasía se llevará a cabo entre el 23 y el 26 de abril en el centro comercial Outlet BIMA.

Expo Comics & Dreams.

La inaguración de la exposición Comics and Dreams estuvó a la altura. Hubo muy buen ambiente, fue bastante gente, el Guason del caballero de la noche repartio vino, habia caballetes para dibujar en cualquier espacio de la exposición y las obras no se quedaron atras pues se vendieron de diferentes autores en la misma noche.
Sigue abierta al publico hasta el 24 de Abril, asi que todavía estan a tiempo de pasarse por Casa Ensamble. Además hay camisetas, postales y botones de la exposición. No se la pierdan!

Quisiera invitarlos a una exposición de comics que se va
a llevar a cabo en el laboratorio de Casa Ensamble creado
por la actriz Alejandra Borrero. La exposición se llama
Comics and Dreams y junto a otros 6 talentosisimos
artistas voy a tener la oportunidad de mostrar mi
visión sobre el aposionante mundo de las historietas
y sus increibles personajes.
Me gustaria mucho que asistieran puesto que hay
que apoyar el medio del comic en nuestro pais para
que cada vez empiece a coger mayor fuerza y se
vuelva parte escencial de nuestra cultura. Va a estar
buenisima porque cada artista tiene una disposición,
un estilo y una visión unica sobre los personajes
populares de los comics que tanto nos gustan como
el hombre araña, dick tracy, el capitan america, lego
y todos estos muñecos que nos diviertieron tanto de
niños y aun hoy en dia lo siguen haciendo.
entre los artista invitados estan Alvaro Barrios, Andres
Penagos, James Echeverry, Luis Lopez, Nadine Ospina, Rodolfo
Leon y por supuesto su servidor David Velásquez!

Les anuncio que he sido escogido para ser publicado en el libro tributo a los Darkstalkers de Udon Comics. Estoy muy contento y hasta la convención de San Diego podre ver que tal sale publicado mi dibujo junto a otros talentosisimos artistas de todo el mundo.

Estare publicando los otros dibujos que hice para el tribute a escepción de la ilustración escogida para aparecer en el libro.

También les cuento que en Abril voy a exponer sobre comics en Casa Ensamble junto a artistas como Rodolfo Leon, Nadine Ospina entre otros, les ire dando mas detalles sobre la exposición para que puedan asistir y puedan ver algo más de mi trabajo. Y si todo sale bien hasta podre tener mi artbook para promocionarlo alli y venderlo junto con las obras a exponer.

I´ve been selected to appear in the Darkstalkers tribute artbook and i´m very excited about it because there are going to be a lot of talented artists there and i am going to be published with them. so exciting!!!

Its going to be published until the San Diego Comicon so we wont be able to see the image until then. But in the mean time i´ll upload my other entries for the contest.


Also there is going to be a comic gallery wich i´m going to share with another talented colombian artist as Rodolfo Leon and Nadine Ospina. Its going to be great and i´ll be selling my artbook there too.

Hace poco que se termino el tercer concurso internacional de manga y aunque puse todo mi esfuerzo para entregar un buen material no alcance a entregar el comic. Bueno supongo que podre seguir puliendo detalles del comic y mejorarlo para la proxima versión del concurso hasta el otro año, jejejeje.
A eso se debe que subiera varios dibujos sobre anime, puesto que durante todo el mes de enero me entrene visualmente con todo el manga y el anime que me fuera posible encontrar. En eso me antoje de hacer algunos fanarts de las series que estaba viendo para influenciarme y mejorar mi linea japonesa. espero les guste lo que subi.
En la galeria subi la portada del comic y se llama Escuadron Tokio, pero todavia no voy a a subir las paginas porque quiero mejorarlas y pulir detalles. Por lo menos la parte del guion en japones ya esta. aqui el link a la portada ::::: [link]

What up everybody

ok, the third international manga contest is finally over and althought i worked as hard as i could during the hole month, i wasnt able to deliver it on time and i couldnt get into the constest.
i Know, its kinda sad, but there was nothing i could do.
i uploaded the cover and you can watch it on the gallery.
i´ll keep working on it since i have an entire year to fix details and make the comic look fantastic for the next installment of the constest.
So there is this Darkstalkers tribute now and i´m excited to work on it to see if i can make it this time.

caracter personal y porque no tiene molestos

About the comic quest, if anyone missed
the last journal i´m going to inform you
again so you cant miss a thang!! hahaha.

The thing is that i´m going to work in a
comic quest that will endure 2 or 3 months
maximum, but the idea its to have 3 comicbook
stories fully drawn till the end of December.
Its just an exercise and a personal proyect
that i want to develop in order to achieve
a better comic portfolio.
The idea is to upload 3 pages or at least one page
every week in a particular day, lets say it
would be every fridays so i have time to work
on the layout, colors and all the process involved.
i want to show the people the best pages i could
draw but i dont want it to take me forever.
so i´m going to do this thang and you´re all
invited to check the pages every friday.

i´ll be posting the first pages this friday
and we will see how all goes along.

IF YOU KNOW THE BAND MUSE YOU DONT NEED ME TO TELL YOU THEY MAKE THE MOST OUTSTANDING SHOW OVER THE FACE OF THE EARTH ( NO KIDDING THERE ) AND BOGOTÁ WAS PRESENT IN THE CONCERT WITH ALL HEART AND JOY READY TO RECEIVE ALL THE POWER AND ENERGY THAT THE BAND HAD TO OFFER.
THE VIDEOS IN THE BACKGROUND WERE THE BEST I´VE SEEN FROM THEM, CRAZY DANCING ROBOTS, CURIOUS BEES, INSANE AND BEATIFULL LANDSCAPES, MARCHS, ATARI SPACESHIPS, REALLY CRAZY STUFF THAT I´M SURE WILL INFLUENCE ME TO CREATE NEW AND COOL PICTURES.
AND MATTHEW BELLAMY CELEBRATED THE INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH OUR FLAG OVER HIS SHOULDERS LIKE A CAPE AND SANG SOLDIER´S POEM AFTER THAT. AWESOME!

IN THE OTHER HAND, OUR BELOVED DARK KNIGHT DELIVERED THE MOST DARK AND INTENSE COMICBOOK MOVIE WE HAVE SEEN IN YEARS. MY RESPECTS TO THE DIRECTOR WHO TOOK A GREAT CHARACTER LIKE BATMAN AND PUT HIM ON A LEVEL THAT WILL MAKE PEOPLE THINK TWICE BEFORE SAYING SOMETHING LIKE COMICS ARE FOR CHILDREN. ALSO WATCHED THE GOTHAM KNIGHT DVD WITH THE "IN THE DARK DWEELS" AS THE MOST ENTERTAINING EPIDOSE, WITH A SHARP AND DARK STYLE THAT SUITS PERFECTLY WITH THE CHARACTER THAT WE CAME TO RESPECT IN BATMAN BEGINS AND TAKE IT TO NEW LEVELS.

TODAVIA PODEMOS DECIR ALGO COMO FELIZ NAVIDAD???? YA CON EL TRANSCURRIR DE LOS AÑOS, Y PUEDE QUE ESTO SUENE MUY A ABUELITO, LA NAVIDAD NO ME SABE IGUAL, ESTA VEZ TIENE UN TOQUE DE ACIDEZ BASTANTE EXTRAÑA, PUES LA COMERCIALIZACION SIN DUDA LA HA VUELTO IRREMEDIABLEMENTE COMERCIAL, YA QUE LA NAVIDAD EMPIEZA NO DESDE DICIEMBRE PERO SI DESDE OCTUBRE. Y NO ME PARECERIA RARO QUE EL PROXIMO AÑO EMPEZARA DESDE SEPTIEMBRE. LAS NOVENAS NARRAN SIN CESAR UNA Y OTRA VEZ LA MISMA HISTORIA Y LA VERDAD YA NO LE VEO EL ENCANTO. bueno, tengo una noticia no muy agradable para todos aquellos que alcanzaron a visitar y ser parte del foro de nucleargraph. lamentablemente el foro ha terminado, y esto se debe a que no puedo seguir ocupandome como deberia ser en esa sección de nucleargraph. he decidido cerrarlo por completo y no dejarlo totalmente a la deriva y sin ningun control.
quiero agradecerle a todas las personas que participaron en algun momento en el foro con sus valiosos comentarios y con sus ilustraciones.
por el momento tengo otros proyectos e ideas que deseo sacar adelante y ocuparme de lleno en ellos.
