Aseverar nuestro orgullo de negarnos a hacer matar animales para nuestro consumo

Nos negamos a robar a seres sensibles sus únicas posesiones, su propia carne, sus propias vidas. Nos negamos a participar en un sistema de cría que convierte la corta existencia de los animales en un verdadero infierno. Nos negamos a hacer esas cosas por el puro hecho de satisfacer nuestra gula o de conformarnos con habitos y tradiciones.
Una negativa de este tipo debería ser lo mínimo. Sin embargo, la historia demuestra lo dificil que es decir "no" cuando el barbarismo se ha vuelto un estandarte social.
Queremos aseverar nuestro orgullo de decir ese "no".

Denunciar la vegefobia

La gente pretende avergonzarnos. El vegetarianismo es denegado, ignorado, ridiculizado, marginado e, incluso, difamado.
El vegetarianismo es una forma clara de objetar contra la legitimidad de enclaustrar y matar a billones de animales. Por su sola existencia quiebra la ley del silencio. Por ese motivo provoca risa, odio y fobia.
Por supuesto, la persona vegetariana inofensiva es respetada cuando él o ella asevera que su estilo de vida se trata de una simple "opción personal" arguyendo dudosos motivos de salud, medioambientales o simple y noble ascetismo. ¡Pero pobre de nosotros si cuestionamos el barbarismo abiertamente!
Primero se reiràn de nosotros. Preocuparse de vacas y gallinas es ridículo segun parece. Ridiculizar las personas es un medio de rechazar sin argumentos las ideas que no gustàn. Pero si no nos doblegamos las risas se tornan en muecas. Éramos mamarrachos, ahora nos hemos convertido en monstruos. Somos traidores de nuestra propia especie por no consentirle todos los derechos; padres indignos por no iniciar a nuestros hij@s en las delicias carniceras; miembros de sectas intolerantes porque no pensamos igual que el resto.
Nos acusan de ser terroristas, o satanistas. A veces dicen que idolatramos la naturaleza, otras veces que no respetamos sus leyes. Intentan de cualquier manera avergonzarnos o rechazarnos simbólicamente de la sociedad.
Pero nos negamos a estar avergonzados de nuestra compasión. Vamos a dejar de escondernos. No pedimos perdón por nuestra negativa a matar. Estamos aquí, vivimos, pensamos y hacemos que se sepa nuestra postura.

Aseverar que existimos

Somos millones en el mundo quienes decimos NO a las masacres. La mayoría de las civilizaciones han cuestionado la legitimidad de ser carnívoro. ¿Alguien habla de ello? En las escuelas no se menta el vegetarianismo. Cuando murió Theodore Monod, los medios de comunicación de masas publicaron muchas cosas sobre él, excepto que era vegetariano. Leonardo da Vinci escribió una vez :
"Desde mi mas temprana juventud dejé de consumir animales, y llegarà un día en el que los hombres veran la muerte de un animal como hoy la ven de un humano".
Decir que existimos y que vivimos sin carne demuestra que un estilo de vida así es posible. No comemos vacas o cerdos, pollos, peces o gambas, y sin embargo vivimos tan bien como el resto, a pesar de lo que divulgan algunos "especialistas" cuya ciencia parece consistir en negar la realidad. Ni el vegetarianismo ni el veganismo (que excluye todos los productos de la explotación animal, lácteos y huevos incluidos) tienen efectos negativos sobre la salud. ¡Los estudios disponibles demuestran mas bien lo contrario!
Matar para vivir no es inevitable, ni individual ni colectivamente. El ganado consume muchos más nutrientes de los que su carne muerta ofrece. Sin embargo, el dinero público se invierte masivamente para mantener la cría de ganado y la pesca.

Defender nuestros derechos

Los seres criados para la matanza no tienen ningún derecho en absoluto pero para nosotr@s, que expresamos nuestra solidaridad con ellos, uno otorga algunos, en teoría. Queremos ejercer nuestros derechos plenamente, porque son nuestros, y porque son suyos, los únicos que pueden tener hoy, a pesar de ser indirectamente.
Tenemos derecho a alimentarnos correctamente en comedores, en el trabajo, en escuelas o en cualquier otra comunidad.
Tenemos derecho a educar a nuestr@s hij@s sin imponerles los productos del matadero, sin derogar de nuestras convicciones y sin que la sociedad intente convencerl@s que sus madres y padres son personas anormales.
Tenemos derecho como tod@s l@s demás a obtener información médica adecuada e imparcial.
Nos negamos a participar en las carnicerías financiadas con nuestros impuestos y las montañas de subvenciones destinadas a la cría masiva y matanza de animales.
Queremos estar en posición de rechazar cualquier empleo que participe con la explotación animal.
Queremos acabar con el silencio que acompaña a nuestras ideas y acciones. Exigimos el mismo tiempo para hablar que quienes nos atacan. _{Isn't it amazing how many new deviations are submitted daily on dA?

That the amount of people who are interested in dA increases daily?

And the fact that so many artists have found a platform to dicuss and present their work to others?

Without a doubt it's a big, interesting and versatile community.

But isn't it amazing to always see the same artists on the frontpage every single day concerning the fact that so many new deviations have been submitted?

We're all aware of that and believe that this has to change. It is already quite difficult for the "unknown" artists to promote their work and gain more attention.

Clearly, we do not intend to deny the skills of those great artists who enrich the community by sharing their magnificent work. But we do intend to enhance the platform in such a way that "unknown" artists might get a real chance to draw the public attention to their own pieces of work by promoting it on the front page of the community.

In our opinion we think it unjust to only have the chance to be represented on the front page if one has the luck of having many watchers.

We would like a better system which allows a deviation to be seen on the front page if, for example, it has 'only' reached about 40 favourites and about 200 views.

Take a look at the actual situation: You have uploaded an impressive piece or art that gets faved according to the number of your total views/watchers. Then, however, a more popular deviant uploads a more or less 'average' deviation and automatically reaches more than the double of your favourites/views in a mere moment.

A new structure of the frontpage could enhance the actual competition on dA, i.e. popular deviants wouldn't be able to best the "unknown" artists by posting a rather average deviation.

A reasonable alternative to present the "daily top favourites" on the front page would be a bigger amount of thumbs which would show the 40 best deviations of the day in a random order.

We think it's in everyone's interest to change the current situation and make dA a place where creating and sharing unique art plays a far bigger role than scrambling for new watchers.
