I recently accused *Damascus6 of lying to the point that his Avatar piece was not a digital painting as he had claimed but was in fact a photo-manipulation that he was fraudulently taking credit for.

In the light of overwhelming evidence... I hereby give my full apology to Damascus5 for the accusation of photo manipulation and lying.
I fully admit I was wrong.

War Balloons

My newest deviation is a more realistic interpretation of the 'war balloons' that the Mechanist and Sokka created in the Avatar: The Last Airbender episode "The Northern Air Temple".
I may do some further adjustments, if anyone has any comments/suggestions don't forget to comment on the submission.

Who here remembers the LucasArts game 'Full Throttle'?

I really want to draw an updated version of the cavefish bike (the most awesome bike in the entire game)... but I can't find any good source material to use.

The only thing I found was a small pixelated screen grab from the game, does anybody know where I could find some concept art or better pictures of the game?

Web Design Tips

I got given a brief to design a website for a photography studio a few weeks ago... Jumping straight onto Photoshop (bad idea) I tried to pump out a layout.

It went from being what I thought was going to be relatively simple job into a mountainous job.

A few tips when designing a website for someone:

- paper first! : Doing the basic layout on paper and sketching ideas down makes life a whole lot easier than going to Photoshop first. You can branch out more, add/remove things without it taking hours.

- content! : try to get as much content from the client as possible before starting. This way you will have a basic idea of where you can put it. There is no point in making a house if it turns out the client wanted a music hall.

- colour scheme! : try and get a client approved colour scheme before setting out. This removes the chance of the client not liking a colour on the website, plus if you use a colour widget you can find colours that fit the scheme without resorting to guesswork.

Learn from my mistakes and not make your own.

This is a combination of laziness and the fact I have been a busy beaver for the past 4 months.

I In the past 4 months I have learnt a heck of a lot of PHP, CSS, Flash, etc. It is just crazy how fast the web world moves. I love it though.

Hopefully when Christmas comes around I can do more of the things I also love doing (drawing, creating pretty pictures, etc).

I have just discovered the awesome world of
prints... I did not know that it was free to sign up
for it! I always thought only pain subscribers could
sell their art.

From now on I shall try and aim to make all of my

Vector Art

Damn vector art is hard...

Just when you think you've got something looking good, you add a little bit more to 'add depth' but you end up screwing up the enitre piece.

Also is can be hard to know where shapes 'go'. Besides if you're not using Photoshop's brushes (where the majority of awesome shapes can be found) you'll find it hard to get any good shapes to use in your composition.

My first true vector art piece will be coming shortly. So i hope you guys will like it.
