Sigh... so good news and bad news:

Bad news: no Otakon in the summer. No money, no time, no up-to-date understanding of fandoms, no friends .

Good news: WILL be doing art-related things in the summer, so might post a thing or two.

OH and I have a Wii. Unfortunately, it means no money for the new Pokemon game... oh well, more time to look COOL to my peers. The new Zelda game is somewhat upsettingly easy... but it's still spiffy as hell. Someone invent skeeball for the Wii! :/

I'm going to try to keep a little journal of all the art-related things I do here.

Anyway, I've broken in my Intuos! I started this really elaborate thing, but it might not be done for a while (trying out a LOT of new techniques).

In any case, I'll be taking two time- and money-consuming studio art classes this semester, so I probably won't have too much time to give due love to the Intuos. Or at least I have to burn through $195 worth of painting supplies first.

Also, when the natural lighting gets better in my room, I'll take some photos of stuff I've made over last semester. I've got a few things I quite like, but they don't photograph very easily.

Well, I guess that's about it. I'll probably continue dumping little sketches in the scraps area, so that might be the only place to see much work from me for a little while.

Somewhere between not having my scanner for a whole semester and it getting covered in 10 inches of paper (mother dearest has poor organization habits), I have lost the will to actually scan things.

And so it is with great delight (or obsessive glee, if that is what you call reloading UPS every hour, on the hour, despite the fact that a delivery date has already been provided) that I wait for the coming of my new Intuos3 tablet tomorrow. As luck would have it, I will be out of state for the whole day, so that means I'll be staying up all night to play around with it.

Which means art for you the day after tomorrow. ...I guess that was the only sentence you had to read of this entire post.

Oh, and is anyone here on ComicSpace? Because I now am.

Have I come back to dA?

I don't know how it happened, but I suddenly got 1000+ new deviations to look at between today and two days ago... which brings the total up to 8,617.

Do I intend to go through ALL of that? Hell, no. But I'm going to make a big strong effort. I got it down to somewhere in the 3,000's a few months ago... but that was with a subscription. And now, dA does not seem to want to show full-sized images to me... rather inconvenient!

Anyway, I've been cleaning out this account of pictures, scraps, and old journal entries. Part of me doesn't want to delete anything. It is like an archaeological dig in here, with all of the dated entries from way back. I think I've attempted to leave dA half a dozen times... but I don't think it can ever be done as long as this account is around and nagging at me.

In any case, I guess you can expect the occasional art post from me. Oh, and you might as well know that I am making Otakon plans, which involve some limited edition fanart prints (limited because of Otakon policy, not my own idea), some general prints that will make everyone happy, some REALLy artsy fartsy stuff, and maybe even an original doujinshi (provided this writer's block goes away). I'll keep this journal up to date with the details.

It has been QUITE some time since I posted anything here. It just took me about a solid 10 minutes to figure out how to post a journal entry.

Anyhoo, I've got an up-and-running website! It has some of my newer art there... including the thing I just posted. Not very exciting, I'm afraid. I try to sound smart there and stuff.

So... I really doing know what to do with this account. I keep it around with the vague hope that I might find some time to get back into the whole dA community... but at the same time, I really want to delete it and start over. Get rid of this old username that doesn't really fit anything about me anymore.

In any case, I'm hoping to get back into doing lots of digital art.... although I am currently without a tablet (just gave my trusty Graphire of 6 years to my mom). We'll see if I can muster up the funds for an Intuos, or if I'll just suck it up and get another Graphire (for anyone who is interested, Circuit City has them for $50 after rebate).

I guess I'll try to do some house-cleaning around here and see if I can salvage this dA account. But the sure way to catch what I'm up to is going to my website, so please check it out.

JOIN THE OEKAKI ARTISTS DIRECTORY!

Have you ever seen an oekaki that just made you think "Wow, this artist is AMAZING! I could look at their art all day!"?
Have you ever lost touch with that great artist or friend whom you met on an oekaki?

I definitely have, so I've spent the week setting up a directory where oekaki artists can add their info and some art samples to share with other artists. Since oekakiers are basically wanderers in the digital art world, it'll be a great way to keep track of your favorite artists.

Please help by spreading the word and ADDING YOUR OWN INFO! [link]
