I have a collection of 1500+ movies in my tv room which makes me thank the gods for making me live in Asia where piracy is just another part of day to day life. When some of my friends go about downloading movies ( Which are pirate as well) I go about shopping for DVDÂs coz I just wanna have them where I can see rather than in a folder in a pc. So I have collected so many movies and TV series DVDÂs in a few year span. I time to time check out the collection and watch the best stuff over again. Recently I watched all the Xmen movies and all 4 Fast and the Furious movies. And IÂm on the Jason Bourne these days.

I know I canÂt really justify buying or downloading pirate stuff. Even I would love to own 1500+ original DVDÂs with all those extra features and awesome looking cover etc etc. But sadly the cost of an original DVD is more than 10 times Â yes 10 TIMES than the pirate one. Which leave most of us with no option.

How does the piracy really work in your continents? Is it some thing which people really donÂt take notice of or is it like committing a real crime??

I must admit that some time when youÂre married most of the things what you like to do has to be given the second priority. Or no priority at all. Which sounds sad but at the end of the day what you really care is what matters.

Recently one of my friend who is a music producer offered me a deal to be in one of his upcoming music video. This is not to photograph or anything but to actually participate in the visual as the main male model. And this song is sure to become a local hit since its sung by a heartthrob. And I listened to the preview of the hit and already started to like it. But this opportunity which actually came to me without any prior notice which was bundled with a shot at fame and some extra cash which many would be striving to give a try at this time of the period was completely let down by me. And the reason is that my wife does not want me to do that

It created a bit of heat but since I was not so badly wanting to do it I said ok fine and went about my life.

The strange thing about life, marriage and woman is that itÂs quite hard to identify any of it. To draw any lines or make any rules which you can fit in to all the time. As an example woman love men with talent. They go crazy over musicians and actors yet they donÂt want their men to be even close to it

I mean itÂs quite obvious that itÂs just a random opportunity and there wonÂt be more coming my way because I'm not a pro model (and I donÂt have the looks for it at the first place). But it was considered complete the other direction by her. IÂm not blaming her or anything by writing this but at the moment IÂm quite confused of what actually woman wants.

IÂm sure itÂs a question which many of the ladies out there can answer. Ladies pls enlighten me.

I thought of writing some stuff which related to my life at the moment. Since I donÂt get to write much stuff here in DA most of you must be wondering how my life is about after my last journal updates.

My wife is now recovered a lot from her spine issue. She can do about most of the house work and have started to go to work as well after a 2 months medical leave. She still finds it difficult to sit in one place and work. But her workplace have given her a suitable chair and some other facilities as well which is a relief

Career wise I had several changes as well. Few new areas came under me and I have a lot on my head at the moment. Office is a busy place. With all the drastic cost cutting initiatives which is going on things have got even tougher out here

I had no or very little time to travel after my wedding. So my photography gear is just used for day to shoots (Which as mostly boring stuff like friendly gathering etc) at the moment. On top of that my pc has given some technical issue (With the VGA I think) so thatÂs not working at all. Well its working but I can see any thing lol Have to get that fixed before I shoot any thing big next time

Furthermore IÂm on a diet which is intending to reduce my weight and gain more muscle definition before my next big competition. There will be few competitions coming up starting from November onwards which IÂm hoping to give my full attention. And yes dieting sucks but seeing results made me to do continue it

Thank you my dear friends for all your well wishes and words on my previous journal entry.

Mo (my wife) is still in the hospital and recovering little by little. Doctors gave her a spinal injection which she said was a painful procedure

Seeing her lying on bed like this from last Sunday breaks my heart. But I believe that she will be strong again and will be able to move around as usual.

For years I have being working-out for the pleasure of it. But few weeks back I have set my mind to compete. And yes it was one of the greatest decisions which I have taken when it comes to my fitness history. I participated for a novice bb competition last Saturday and loved doing it.

All the wonderful guys I met there and the enthusiasm which runs sky high amazed me.

From now on I have set my mind to compete. So I will train harder, eat right and get the correct supplements to gain muscle, shred fat and win a title some day. My next meet is in another 8 weeks. So I have changed my workout plans and started to prepare for it.

Due to few changes which are happening in my work and personnel life IÂm finding it difficult to spend much time here on DA lately. The most important reasons out of many would be

1. I'm getting ready for my wedding which is in another few weeks

2. My professional work related changes and new responsibilities

3. Planning to participate for a body building competition which will be my fist

By now I have made over 78,000 comments which is an incredibly huge number come to think of it. All of these were made with my finger tips one after another during the little time I was here. There were days I have spent on welcoming new members who joined in giving them a pleasing experience. Which I did after what I felt when some one welcomed me to this vast community that made me little bit confident to roam around and explore.

Some days I was having lot of trouble in mind. And some days I was not healthy enough to write long. But I kept doing what I used to do. Look for good art, view and comment. After some time I realized that I should do more to these arts and artists. I should share what I see with others. And then I have started my journal series ÂI want to show you what I sawÂ back in 2007 May. And I will be publishing its 50th entry very soon. Over those journal entries I have featured 100s of art work and artists which I proud of.

Here I have met some remarkably talented artists, photographers and further more enthusiastic art lovers which we become fans of each other. Currently I have 274 deviations to my credit on this site and over 1700 people who watch my work (Which most of them are not quite active always

The worst what I worry about is that I cannot do most of the best weight training exercises and that sucks. Even long distance running and cycling is not good for me any more

This week end IÂm moving to a new house. A rented one actually. For some time I wanted more space and a peaceful environment to live on and specially a place to park my ride safely. So was doing lot of packing and lifting in the past few days which made my spine exhausted once again. Now I have to rest for another few days before I put my hand on any thing heavy again.

IÂm a Buddhist and I believe in Karma. And I wonder what I have done to deserve such limited movement with my spine and delay in achieving my goals due to that. Already few years of my life has gone by without achieving some of the things which I wanted to do mostly because I canÂt move the way I used to. Specially photographing some of the harsh terrains in the country and to compete in a fitness competition. Some say surgery is a solution but I still canÂt make up my mind to it yet.

Apart from that the global financial crisis has started to him me. I realized that IÂm not saving any money and not having enough money to do what I want to do all of a sudden. And all of my trusted banks are not doing very well so they have refused to grant me any loans for some time. They say they have stopped giving loans for some time!!! Well that sucks. Because not like other years I need some serious cash this year coz IÂm hoping to get married soon. And I have already spend every thing on it and my car which was continually given me trouble for the last several months

My company is doing quite ok yet they are having less revenue and they have cut down on lot of benefits and bonus and increments this year. So some of my most expected Âextra cashÂ is on halt for a year. On top of that my DA subscription has run out and IÂm having trouble upgrading it coz there is some error every time I try. So I thought to give it up and go without a sub for some time. Well that will prevent me from doing journals on features and polls

But just as I said before IÂm glad that my work inspire lot of young people around the globe. When I wanted to start in photography there was no one I knew who can give me a piece of valuable advice. But today due to the grace of the web IÂm capable of commenting and expressing my views on others work and interact with them at the same time. While doing so I gather much required knowledge and share my own experiences as well. And the best part of it is that most of these wonderful people are still very young and bundled with talent and interest to achieve more and more every day. I wish I had this opportunity to see 100s of amazing works of art when I was 15. I wish I had this chance to speak to so many fellow artists and share my views with them when I was 18. I wish I had this wonderful chance to read so many interesting articles and journal entries and bloggs when I was 20.

My dear friends. For me it may be few years late by now. But for you this life is a blossom which is waiting to bloom. Nourish it with your fullest effort and show this world how beautiful you and your work are. All the best !!

I have done this for over several years by now. And one thing I know is that what other people tells about your work matters a lot. Even for a professional, comments are required. Not just to see how good they are but to identify even the slightest mistake they do. Being good is not enough. Art is more than that. But art is not a competition between any one else. But itÂs a competition between my own self and my own previous works only. With every new shot I take I strive to beat my previous shot. With every shot I take I try to learn more of techniques. And my works are simply not measured by me. ItÂs measured by a vast community. A community who like to see my work. A Community who wishes to see me produce better photos every time. A Community who likes to see me improve. I salute them. All of my fans who give me strength and placing trust on me

Today I would like to share some thoughts about placing comments on photographs. I have commented on 1000s of photographs over a period of time and I have learnt some basic ÂDoÂ and ÂDo notÂs in the process.
Maybe you have already read these stuff some where if so just treat this as a refresher

First of all decide if you have to comment on a photograph or not. Because keeping a comment on the web is not like meeting some one with their photograph in hand face to face like in an exhibition. If you decide to comment then you have taken a step to express your feeling and an earned an opportunity to interact with the photographer

If you have time to look at the photo and if you have the time to comment then try to avoid comments such as ÂNiceÂ Â AwesomeÂ ÂwowÂ as much as possible. Because from the photographers point of view itÂs just an appreciation. A simple momentarily expression of emotional hype by looking at their work. If you think you like the photograph they why not say so in few words? And if you donÂt like some thing in it why not tell that also?

Now you know that you have to express what you feel in few words

So what can you exactly tell?? For a start why you like this particular photo! What kind of a feeling does it brings you. Does it make you cheer up or does it make you sad or lonely? If so itÂs a good comment to place. Every art work has its mood. Even small depending on the viewer. The artist would love to know that.

Does this particular photograph makes you remember any thing? Any thing what some one else did or some thing from your past. A smell from some where. Some thing that you felt. Or some where that you went? If you mention it that means itÂs a special photograph for you.

Now comes the technical aspects. To do this maybe you require some knowledge about photography but itÂs not a must. DonÂt be embarrassed to keep a dumb comment about some thing technical or ask some thing which you donÂt understand. A technique maybe. A good photographer will always correct you. Give you some advice or share some of his valuable experience with you.

Have an eye on these things. Colors used, sharpness of the photo, composition, focus. They are simple to identify and simple to comment on. A photograph is made good or bad with a mix of all these. Tell that to the photographer.
