I accidentally hacked through a femoral artery and meant to cut along side of it. it wasn't really my fault because she had a deviated arterial canal, and it appeared that the vein was running in a completely different direction, causing a little groove under the skin that tricked me into thinking that was truly where the vein was. I spent what seemed like hours cleaning blood off of the ceiling. Very disappointing.

Wow. What a weird year so far.

UPDATE: I totaled my Jeep on Tuesday night after my Aiki Jujutsu class. I was exhausted and rummaging in my gym bag for my bottle of water, looked down for a second and when I looked up I slammed into the back of a Ford Expedition. I'm glad I carry the maximum insurance. Hopefully this won't turn out too bad.

Life sure can get crazy really fast.

Update AGAIN: We *are* working things out and it looks like I may be moving to California within the next few months. My Jeep will be paid off in the next week or so and I will then go buy a truck (hopefully). It's so funny, I have a hard time dealing with the small pressures and nuisances of life - I usually let them bottle up and then I explode, but when faced with real danger, real catastrophe, I am cool and calm every time.

No matter how fucked up it can be, I still love life!

We got called out on the carpet a couple of times to fight, walked away just fine. At some point my room mate thought it would be amusing to hit me with a pool cue. Through years of practice, I was able to work through my drunken pig state and use my drunken ninja skills to take it away and hit him in the eye with it.

I believe there were also many glasses broken, one of which was actually broken in a pocket of a pool table as I attempted to make a rather difficult shot and Bill thought I couldn't do it. Bill is a jackass. The tourists that were showered with gin, ice and broken glass then scowled at me and I told them to fuck off. Both the bouncer and the bartender laughed and eventually the tourists did indeed fuck off. I imagine they went back to their casino where it was nice and safe. Douchebags.

Our nights consisted of wandering Fremont people watching and placing the occasional bet on whatever game struck us. We'd seek out Chicago-style hot dogs and fried Twinkies for nourishment, slam shots of espresso and cans of Red Bull and then we would work our way to Hogs & Heifers and hang out with Bonnie, who would sit and do shots with us, bullshit and try to out do us in every way. Or maybe it was us trying to outdo her and her looniness...I think I may have been the first customer in a long while that actually impressed her, but then I also have worked many years in the bar industry and know how it feels. Ultimately, we would wander Fremont in a drunken haze (H&H closes at 4AM - lame) pour ourselves into a cab and head to the Double Down. Our last night there, after making friends with a group of punks and me backing up one of them when a guy wanted to throw down, we all made it over to another place in the middle of nowhere called Divebar, where I met another cool bartender named Rob. Somewhere around 8 in the morning, I believe Rob stopped charging any of us for drinks. I vaguely remember doing shots of Jaegermeister and chasing them with gin and tonic. Let me tell you my friend, if you would like to go blind for an indeterminate amount of time, this is the way to do it. We guzzled PBR, Jaegermeister, Jameson's, Guinness, gin, and 7&7 like they were fucking tax-deductable! Anyone that looked at us wrong got called on it, and anyone that had the balls to step up either realized shortly after what a mistake that was, or they became our friends.

All-in-all, it took us two or three days to fully recover from our antics, but it was worth it and we are already planning for our annual Christmas-in-Vegas vacation.

Oh, and did I mention I got flipped off by Elvis? Fuckbag.

Last night a scored a second job to hold down through the rest of the summer which should enable me to pay off some debt and not have to worry much about money anymore. I was offered a bouncer job at my favorite blues bar - Char's Has the Blues. It's only two or three nights a week, but it's a really cool place and the gig is easy - plus I think it will bring some good perks!

His kidneys failed and I had to have him euthenized this afternoon. He went everywhere with me. He made it from Park Rapids MN, Fargo ND, Las Cruces NM, Phoenix AZ, Puerto Peñasco Mexico, and back to Phoenix. He also lived with two wives and countless girlfriends, as well as some completely platonic friends that understood the fact that this cat had a a sense of humor and liked to play pranks. He was an amazing friend who always knew when I was down and was there for me, either purring and cuddling or acting goofy and playing to cheer me up. I already miss him more than I have ever missed anything in the world. My heart is officially broken.

I held him as they filled him with death. My left hand held his little head. I used to call him "Triangle-head", because cat heads kind of appear triangular sometimes. Anyway, today I was getting off the freeway on the way home from work and some sort of screaming music was pulvarizing the air around me...you'll see...mine is the black Jeep with the Deftones stickers plastered all over the back and thumping bass -usually some sort of Deftones/Helmet/Pitchshifter or whatever blasting from it...

So anyhoo...driving, blistering hot out, listening to my music, VERY loud...when I notice this car behind me getting off at the same exit. Mom is driving, her kids are in the back seat - it appears they are all singing and playing around. No big deal, but I kinda think it's cute. They catch me watching, so I avert my eyes and watch the road again. Then out of the corner of my eye, I notice them pulling up beside me. The little ones in the back start waving at me. Keep in mind, these are like, I dunno - maybe a bunch of eight year old kids. All of a sudden they start rockin' out to my music - I mean like head banging, devil horns, totally thrashing!
