On that note, there is something I must apologize for.

I always claimed that I have big dreams, that I wanted to become a great artist, and that I would work hard for it.
Evidently, that was not true.

Maybe I had these dreams, and maybe I really believed in them, but in time... the reason I continued drawing, and giving a token effort to improve, was because I wanted people to like me. I wanted people to like me because I wanted to be happy. I have self-esteem issues. When I first got online, I was convinced that nobody could ever like me. Then I found people who would appreciate me for who I am. And I found that drawing is something that I can do well enough that people will praise me for it.

I disappointed many who perhaps believed in my own dreams more than I did myself.

What will happen now?

Well... I will have to think about this for some time. About what I am, how I got there, and what I want from the future. Truly want.
But I'm optimistic.

Work, you know. It's pretty rad.

Angst follows.
Woke up after so little sleep. I thought my whole body consisted of hands. My real hands were just hands attached to more hands. All these hands wanted to do something, had something to say on how to present a picture, wanted to get to work on it, and I didn't know what my real hands were. My arms were reaching out, my shoulders. Everything was in a strange turmoil.

Gonna get some therapy, too. Find some numbers, make some calls, write down more numbers. Easy.

Sorry to anyone looking forward to comics that try to warm your heart. Maybe there'll be more soon. I don't know. I really just don't.

One thing I have to note first is how odd your emotions get when you're angry at a person for vague reasons and then you find out that your anger was unjustified and... stuff. On that note: Silent treatment is the worst treatment.

Art-wise, either I'm running out of steam (ALREADY?!), or I need to reconsider my methods. I seem to be falling back into bad habits, and, you know, practice is hardly worth it if what I practice is a faulty technique.

I think it has to be like this:

1. Picture what I'm going to draw.
2. Construct it.
3. Take in the construction (if it's good) and imagine the finished product over that.
4. Finish it.

That whole "eyes go here, mouth goes there" deal won't get me anywhere in the long run... A picture should be one entity.

I really wanted to get at least page 2 done today, but chances are looking bad, not to even mention "at least". Ran into some problems.

Good news: I figured out a way that makes digital coloring easier.

Bad news: ................. It still sucks! It takes ages, it's unsatisfying, and it takes ages!

So I guess one of the things I learned today is that I'm really going to have to invest in a frikkin tablet.

Also that drawing two characters in the same image makes them instantly 50 times harder to draw, trying to draw them again in a similar shot while retaining their proportions makes it again 50 times harder, and you can add another 50 if they're actually, like, INTERACTING and stuff.

I bit off a little more than I can chew with this one! Next few pages should go much more smoothly, though. So yeah. I hope you guys like them colored pencils, because you's gonna be seeing them for a while.

In all seriousness: Hi.

Things have been changing, and yet not. I'm in a state of troubled calmness and life is spinning monodimensionally. So much for that.

Well, as you may have noticed, not much came out of my last attempt to revive this here place. I dunno why, really. I don't really draw many "works" for some reason. Much like it has been for the past years, I mostly draw concept sketches and such. But there's a ripple on the surface here. I'm slowly moving into directions. I initiated an artistic duel with an overpowering foe, a battle that takes place in comic form. The comics I have drawn for that duel, and the previous Art Battles that inspired it, were the only true comics I have ever drawn... But that will change. The webcomic is conceptually nearing the phase where I mostly have to worry about how to set things up, not so much what I want to do in the first place. I'm both despairing and coming to terms with my life, and it's an unsurprisingly awkward feeling. I feel worthless, and the feeling of worthlessness is depowering, but at the same time, I realize that it really just takes a will to just DO IT to get out of that hole. I've taken up jogging because running is good against depression. Depression is also a prime reason not to leave the house, but I'm not having any of that. Damn my weakness to hell, I'm gonna get this show on the frikking road.

Now!
I'm sorry for not commenting on any pictures since then (except for a few of Anna's, I guess?), and I can't really guarantee that I'll start doing it now. My internet habits are weird and I still don't understand them myself. What I can tell you is that I've been downloading thousands upon thousands of pictures that strike my interest for some reason, so I can collect them in a giant heap of references. That also means I'm less afraid to check out works superior to mine. Instead, I strive to find out how I can break free from my old form to bring vitality into my art.

... I'm really sorry for neglecting you guys who haven't forgotten about me yet. I can't really explain it, and I sure as hell can't justify it, but, it's just the way the cookie crumbled. Stupid cookie.

So... What will I be doing with my gallery?
Assuming that I WILL keep it updated, here's an overview over the things I might have in store:

1) Pokemon stuff. I've recently become obsessed with the critters again. In fact, this stuff will be further divided into two categories:
a) Fake Pokemon. I've been playing with the idea of creating a rom hack of a D/P game to insert some Pokemon of my own design, along with new characters, a new world, and a new plot with much more depth.
b) Trainer's Log. I still don't actually own any Generation IV game, but I want to import Platinum once it comes out in the US. Since Super Smash Bros. Brawl has failed me, I'll turn this into the one game I wanna focus on and become good at, and to really get myself into it, as well as to get some light drawing and comedy practice, I'll document some events in the game from the view of the player character, a ditzy version of myself, in the form of free-form comics. It might be nifty!

2) Stuff about my webcomic. Concept art, perhaps, though it's constantly being revised. Then again, why not start uploading designs before they're finalized? Maybe I could get some nice feedback.

3) Aaand whatever else I come up with. Yay!

So, brief update:
-I moved to Leipzig to live with my mother and her boyfriend and study here.
-Studying things you aren't interested in is worse than school.
-I applied for a Creative Writing course in order to study something I AM interested in. Wish me luck.
-I drew little as always.
-Planning to start a webcomic. For serizzles now.

I guess I'll delete some of the embarrassing crap from my account and leave in some nostalgic or even good stuff... as soon as I figure out how to do that anyway. Hell, I bet DA has gained all sorts of new features and stuff while I was gone... Anything important I missed?
Also, what was that I heard about them owning rights to your stuff?

Wait, you ask why I was gone for so long in the first place? Well... hum. I guess it was the stress. I couldn't handle having to check on so many new Deviations and commenting and everything, in no small part due to the fact that looking at the work of others much better than me just made me trust even less in my skills and... stuff. I matured a little by now ( w00t ), but I hope you'll understand that I... deleted all the thousands of messages that I missed by now.

Well, that should be it. I guess I'll upload a few drawings... I have some writing I could upload here as well, but then I'm a bit worried about having it stolen... ah well.

I've been to the book fair in Leipzig.Three days in a row. I would have told you about what has happened earlier, but.. I had no access to the internet...
And.. a LOT has happened. Many important things, too..
I will try to remember as well as possible.. only.. really personal information will be excluded, so my friends will have to ask about that personally.

Day 1.
I went to the fair with mother's partner. We went on the first event on my list, which was supposedly a religious debate about its advantages and disadvantages..
It turned out to be, as far as I actually stayed, less more than the two guys giving loose information on C.G. Jung and Karl Bart, without coming to the point and without even stating the theories they were evaluating... in short, it was barely interesting or inspiring.
But at least that gave us time to check out the Poetry Slam!
The only contestant we saw was the last one who first read a rather weak angsty poem about society and waffles, but then made me laugh really hard with a piece of poetry in which many words were replaced by names of cities and countries... it was awesome.
But in the end, they had to decide on the winner a second time because the first evaluation was unclear, and the last guy read a piece that consisted on a lot of sentences that rhyme on "Top, die Wette gilt", which was also hilarious, but the winner was in the end the guy who read his lovely poem called "Ode an den Arsch der meinen PC geklaut hat" ( Ode to the asshole who stole my PC ). Ah, the joys of modern poetry.
After that, I walked around a bit, and I checked out the anime section...
I was overwhelmed by the masses of manga and anime... people who all draw manga as well, many of which are likely better than me...
Hmm...
There was an anime cinema which showed AMVs ( anime music videos ).
There was one about a hyperactive girl with awesomely fitting classical music.. ^_^ It was actually inspiring, seeing as I have a hyperactive girl in Fabella Vitae..
There were many other cool videos, too. One of Evangelion, for example.
Other than that, I don't remember much....
However, I made an.. interesting.. discovery.
Yu-Gi-Oh is not only a prime example of how different a manga can be from its anime, it SCARED me. o__o
Yami Yugi is a psycho, his granddad looks a lot like one, the games in the beginning are less about cards rather than bets and courage tests which end up with the bad guy being given a horrible curse or dying....... dude.
And Yugi is bisexual. Whee!
The day there ended with me being down due to a certain manga and certain people who rock a lot harder than me and with a certain.. event my mother dragged me to..

Day 2:
..this. Is one of the most beautiful days. Of my whole life.
First, I went to an interview about the borderline syndrome as the effect of sexual abuse... sad topic, but I needed the research for my story. It was... helpful, albeit depressing.
Right afterwards, I wandered around aimlessly only to find that I was about to miss the DRAWING LESSONS WITH KAZUKI TAKAHASHI-SENSEI, THE AUTHOR OF YU-GI-OHDLASHIOÜDA
..I never went there since mother's partner wrote that it was in the "CCC" instead of the "CCL"................ durrh.
But, I spent the rest of the time in the anime section of the fair.. and wow. Just wow.
There were cosplayers everywhere. THere were otakus. Mangaka. People like me.
For the first time since I was a mere child, I felt like I belonged with the others...
There was a stand where you could register yourself and start selling drawings. The talent of the others... overwhelmed me. I was about to despair when two girls talked to me to make me buy stuff. We began to converse, and they liked me.
And since I felt like drawing something, but didn't know what to draw, I simply drew one of them as a catgirl and gave it to her.
To draw it, however, I had to sit down on the floor, and since people kept almost stumbling over me and I had little space, I simply moved underneath a table and continued drawing there.
...apparently, people found it quite amusing.
I was probably the most photographed non-prominent non-cosplayer of the day. ^_^;
But.. I didn't even mind them laughing. In fact, I liked it.
To laugh is something precious, and they didn't laugh AT me, they just laughed... it was great. ^^

And I got my scanner working again. So... as soon as I feel that I'm not innerly trembling from stress anymore, I will upload some nice pictures. That I will.

Also, while I'm here already, I might announce a rather ambitious project...
I want to create a series of rather big clay figures of all the main Fabella Vitae characters.... in symbolic poses and detailed and proortionally correct as well as in realtive size.... if I manage that, I can really call myself an artist. A real artist.
...so.
