okay, so i got my resulsts a week or two ago.
ABBB, with an A in photography!

but unfortunatly that brings my photography course to an end.
i'm still going to try and carry on taking photographs, but i'm so busy lately with work i haven't actually taken any photographs in months!

i'm saving to get a DSLR sometime soon though, so keep your eyes peeled.

well, i just came back from belgium AND ireland recently, so i have a many a photo from those two trips to upload.
i've also been taking a fair few photo's whilst in class at sixth form and playing around with them for my portraiture project. although many of them aren't that relevant for what i'm aiming to do, i still think they're good photos and it's always good to take as many as possible! i'm just getting a grip on the kind of photos i want to take.
i've got so many photoshoots i want to do as well, so i'm getting them all lined up.

but for now, i'm going to upload a new photo everyday. (:

went to four galleries during the trip
the: van gogh.
stedelijik.
bojimans von beuringen. (which was by far my favourite.)
& kroller-muller.

i've got a good lot of photo's from the trip &i'll be uploading them over the next couple of days i guess, some general ones from the trip &others with more specific concepts, as the teachers set certain tasks each day. (:

well, study leave's over, exams are done &it's back to sixth form to start A2. ):
can't wait for a new photography project though! quite looking forward to it.
as well as going to amsterdam in less than a month for a photography trip, can't wait!

i've being keeping creative &taking a few photo's every now &again, as you can see from me gallery. (: &i've recently discovered layering textures over photo's to make them that wee bit more interesting, it's quite a cool effect!

the photography &art exhibition at my sixth form's happening next week, which is going to be really good. there are so many great artists/photographers about. then i get to take my peice's home & put them in my room!

i've also just subscribed to deviantart for a month &see whether it's worth it or not. (:

anyway, the concept i've been basing my freedom photo's on is restrictions, but not straight forward ones, ones we have become so accustomed to we barely realise the way in which they restrict us. i suppose many people would find the way they fit as restrictions quite extreme, but that's the point.

i'll be posting them soon, probably next week, along with a couple of test shots that came out really nice as well.

flipping through the book &seeing famous fashion shots along with snapshots of his dog at the park made me realise how photography as an art form is more about documenting and responding to your surroundings rather than just taking a pretty picture.

this along with a blog i read here made me appreciate my photographs alot more &feel free to submit photo's without worrying about how amazing or pretty they are, which is something i think people strive too much to acheive.

capturing memories &emotions in pictures, as well as finding a way to photograph your subject in an inspired way is alot more important than fitting a stereotype of how a photograph should look.

something i'm glad i've finally realised.

the pjoject they're based around is 'image &identity', which i've kind of moulded into a concept of my own i guess:


judging a book by its cover.

by somehow obscuring a persons face, &therefore identity, in order to let image shine through &speak for itself.


i'm not sure how happy i am with the overall concept, i may change it slightly, so we'll see! i'll be uploading the final photo's in a month or so when they're done!
