rofl I love these guys. they're the ones I've been training while waiting for pat to catch up to me so we could battle. I find it funny that they actually almost did better than my original team, especially my Wigglytuff, believe it or not.

now that I'm finally free to train further and challenge the Elite Four, I'm having a hard time choosing who to focus on as my main team for the big matches.

so 16 things about me.

1. I like chickens. they're awesome. I've taken to hiding one in each of my comics now. <3

2. I used to be horribly addicted to the internet, but now I hate going on it.

3. relating to above, if you don't get a reply from me it's nothing personal at all. I don't really reply to anyone online anymore. years of dealing with immature idiots put me off to it for good. I'm also horrible with writing/dealing with e-mail because of said reason. if you do get a reply, well, you're very lucky. I prefer if people CALL ME and talk to me like a human being. <3 (unless you know me strictly via internet, then I try to reply more n such)

4. I was strictly an anime artist, but now I've grown out of it into new things. consequently, I'm completely out of touch with who I am now and am searching for my voice.

5. I have a REALLY hard time throwing away bags. hey, you never know when you're gonna need one!!

6. I'm horribly addicted to the Pokémon games. I own one of each generation and have played it to the max for the most part. I am currently playing FireRed, and consider it probably the best one so far. (I'm currently working on another pic of my alt. team lol)

7. For the most part, I am happy with how my life has gone despite everything I've been through. I greatly value my blessings.

8. I am actually very religious, though I don't parade it about. I am very open concerning it.

9. I love listening to Disney music. OMG I can listen to the Lion King soundtracks forever. <3

10. my boyfriend is awesome. <3

11. I put makeup/do my hair nicely when I'm home alone and cleaning, but when I go out I don't. I feel that you should not have to do that stuff in order to be considered pretty by others, but I like to have fun with it when I'm working on stuff alone.

12. my brother and I have a very good relationship and hardly fight. people envy it, but that's only 'cause we're all each other really had growing up.

13. in elementary and middle school, I had a very preppy tendency. now I think I'm the opposite...or am I? I think I am just myself now.

14. I don't really ever dwell about what happened in the past, since it's already happened.

15. I don't like Halloween. this year was all right, but I still don't like it much.

16. I LOVE Christmas!!! I don't care about gifts or anything, I just love...IT. ya know? lol ^___^ <3

as I predicted, I rarely go on the computer nowadays, and even if I do, I only check e-mail, dA, and maybe one or two other sites pretty much. life's been insane like I never thought. If I'm not at school I'm at work, and if I'm not at work I'm doing homework. I feel like I've lost all sense of the outside world.

but that's okay. I'm learning a lot, and I feel like I've become a bit better of an artist. I am having fun, despite it all.

I don't have much else to say, really. I'd love to submit some stuff here, but I haven't gotten around to scanning them yet and I have too much to do right now.

uhh...it's not much, but I try to update at least once a week or two. that's about all the time I can spare for the internetz nowadays.

seriously, I...don't go on the computer anymore aside from checking my e-mail every morning. I didn't used to, and once ended up commuting all the way to an early class that was canceled. so yeah. now I do that. but aside from that and checking my comments here...yeeeeah. I still do read all comments and stuff though, even though I may get to them a bit late. it's not much, since I think most people are in the same boat as me right about now. lol XDD;;

regardless of all the work, I am having fun with it. even reading my history textbook is interesting for me. this year is just fascinating in general, and I owe much of that to my amazing teachers. I am FINALLY starting get why I pay so much to go here. lol

after looking at *tobiee's work some more, I felt like doing more distorted perspective stuff. so yeah, most of what inspired me to do this kinda stuff was his work, even though it is vastly different from this. (clarification: more from his sketchblog pics, not so much his dA stuff)

ummmmm...bunch of different ways to style it. it's fun trying out new things, but I think the faux hawk is the most fun. the long pic is a bunch of put-together little pictures, which I'm surprised as all heck it came together decently, and slightly warped like I thought it would be...uhh....

anyway, it was my first experience with a table in the Artist Alley. It was a lot of fun, even though those around me scolded me for taking on so many cheap commissions and overall too-low prices. However, I counted it up, and I made a pretty large profit. cool stuff.

some asked if I would be back next year. at first I didn't intend to, but the weekend went so well that, yes, I would love to be back next year. this time, hopefully I'll have better products, etc.


sharing a table with was the best. we immediately clicked, and I couldn't imagine hanging out with a better person. after the con we took her back to NYC and I showed her around. it was a lot of fun. Being somewhat of a tourist in my hometown made me realize how lucky I am to live in New York. We hit up all the major places and my favorite hangouts in two days...intense stuff. we were dead by the end of it, and I felt bad for her having to go back to work right when she got home...hopefully you managed to stay awake!!

a tremendous thank you to for all her help that weekend, I don't know what I'd do without you~!!!

it was awesome being corner-mates with who is an absolute sweetheart, and extremely talented.

I loved getting to know , the hair-and-makeup expert. she was so cool. lol

I bought Pie-IX from and talked with her a bit, she's so nice!! I would have loved to talk more with her, but I feared I may come off as too stalker-ish. I've known her work for years, around to back when she was on Cimetery as Kyla. It was really awesome getting to meet her!

I finally got my hands on a copy of Directions of Destiny by and talked with him a bit. I've been a fan of Hans' comic work almost since the beginning of DoD, so it was really cool. He's also a really nice guy, and DoD looks even more amazing in print, if that was possible.

I met and she is...probably the sweetest, most hyperactive person I've ever met. she's great, I would have loved to have gotten to hang out with her more...I've been a huge fan of her work for a while now.

and I finally bought a joker poster. I luffs it.



hmm...what else...I'm kinda too lazy to post pictures of stuff, so I guess that's about it.

OH umm so yeah, while pat, cari, and I were trying to hail a cab on the way to see Avenue Q, this stylist comes up to me and offers to cut my hair for free. he seemed pretty legit, so I went in to the studio the next day and omigosh it was so cool, I felt like I was on some kind of tv show!! anyway, long story short, I now have a suedo-fauxhawk. people fear me now. it's awesome. lol

also, like many others, I saw The Dark Knight saturday night in Imax with ~loeki. we waited 4 hours in line in order to get some of the best seats, and it was more than worth it. I already have my tickets for next week with pat. I'm not going to spoil anything, but...

why the hell did Heath have to die? I am convinced that no one could ever do a better joker than him.

why did I like him so much? because he was the only one that GOT to you. weather you wanted him to or not. he MADE you laugh...literally. THAT was the creepy part. no manaical laughter, no out-of-the-odd jokes, etc....just...indescribable madness. perfection. he deserves to get that oscar, no doubt.

also, he deserves an award for the best magic trick EVER. rofl. XDDD <3

and, well...that's all I have to say. I look forward to seeing it again just as much as I looked forward to seeing it the first time. it easily racked its way to probably my favorite movie.

yes, this means I am planning on re-doing it. and when I say that, I MEAN completely re-do it. chopping unneeded characters, revising the all-too-long-winded story, and so on.

umm...so yeah, I've been having fun experimenting with fabric paint. or more accurately, a solvent that you can put into any acrylic paint and turn it into fabric paint. (I also have one to turn it into airbrush paint, but I have yet to try that out with my airbrush)

so my first attempt sucked, and I'm not gonna post it. >___<;;;

here's my second, done on one of my favorite, but incredibly old and loose, tank-tops.



I'm rather pleased with it. except for the fact that I forgot about my boobs where I put the main part of Bizo's portrait and when I wear it ya can't really see it. whoops.

I'm rather proud of this. colors are much harder than black, and require many more layers. this isn't done yet, I have more to add around it.

I really love The Lion King, it's what I grew up on. I was working on a pic of Scar, 'cause he's a sexy beast and was my first love, but it's not coming out too great so I'm gonna trash it and start over...blah, I can never get anyone from LK right. =___=;;;

*cough* so yeah. blame work @ Starbucks and teh Pokémans for me not working on Rennen. Seriously, I've become obsessed and have been playing nonstop. I think we're both a bit too competitive for our own good...

hnn...yeah, pokémon is the shizz. I want to do a painting of Houndoom crunching a majikarp to death, just 'cause I think it'd be really funny. hnn...my favorite type used to be I think fire or psychic, and I've always loved my Houndoom and Espeon most, but lately it is definitely Flying, hands down. Since playing FireRed with the original 150, I am also starting to really appreciate poison. but really, if I could train all Flying-types, I totally would. It was fun. really interesting to see so many amazing artists who respected and understood comics as an art form. there were really unique things there, it was a really great experience.


and it was FREAKIN' HOT. like wtf. there was a billboard outside the building with a thermometer on it...it made me want to cry. it was 99˚ the ENTIRE time. all I brought with me were my long dark jeans. FUN TIMES.

luckily, our room was air conditioned. but one of the floors weren't...I felt bad for the exhibitors who got caught there.


our booth was AWESOME as usual. we had an amazing space, and it was just great in general. there are a lot of sva alums there, so it was a lot of fun. I got to meet a lot of great people, and hang out with all my old friends. I missed them. <3

I am just testing the CSS of the journal...not final at all. because it's pretty obvious that everything is WRONG. >___<;;;

HAHA I have no idea what I'm doing. but what else is new? XD;;


anyway, have some WIPs.

I finished page 3. this is a preview of it. 'cause...I dunno, I guess I'm going to wait to post them until I have a clear idea of when I can update again.



next to it is the lineart cover for 'Zukunft' and as you can see, this was the first time I drew Bizo's tattoos on a piece of tracing paper instead of directly on to it...I think it worked well, it was a lot less of a hassle.

as I'm refining the pages after 4, I'm seeing how difficult it is to keep the quality so nice. it takes a lot of time because of all the references I use now. most of the drawings after that page I didn't use a reference, and everything looks horrible so I have to re-do...everything. I'm being really nitpicky, but I hope my hard work will pay off.

The only reason I'm getting things done....

SOOOO I tested it and...yeah, I suck pretty badly. but I'll figure out how to make a perdier journal tomorrow...for some reason, I'm really tired right now.

good thing my b-day's coming up in the beginning of july, but it's still over a month away. I don't mind having to manually check my comments and whatever, I just want to be able to customize my journal, that's all. with the special journal feature I could post WIPs and other news and it'd just be better so that you guys aren't completely left in the dark.

I feel bad...I dunno. I may just purchase a month until then or...well, if anyone feels generous for an early b-day gift or something? I dunno. ;___;

I guess it's come to this...if anyone buys me a YEAR subbie, I'll do a full completed piccie request for ya if you want. I figure it's fair since I charge around 30 for one anyway.

FT is my way of exploring and practicing my art. I have admittedly grown to somewhat dislike the generic anime and manga style, and am trying to develop a style of my own that shows off my true ability. manga is almost too easy for me, plain and simple. I have come to realize this now, after years of immersing myself in it. what I love about looking back on the FT pages is seeing my development, and I feel it is enjoyable for many of my readers to track my development as well. it was only a matter of time until it evolved into what it is now. this amazing artist: *jdillon82 julie dillon, started off as I did, and I looked up to her a lot. It's how I started. I wondered why she stopped doing anime and I was so sad, but now I understand. it is simply the individual artist learning what they are meant to do.

I'm sorry, but 'Zukunft' may be the last thing you see drawn in such a style. In all honesty I greatly dislike how FT was, mainly in terms of storytelling. I seriously began to consider either re-doing it or even stopping it. I chose to re-do it. or at least suedo re-do it. that is what chapter 7 and on will be. the story will be told much clearer, and will be more relate able. FT is about racism. however in the entire 6 chapters, this has not been conveyed at all, and in fact the story has been going nowhere. starting now, you will see a very different story. in my opinion, it has been greatly improved. in many, it may not. It is up to my readers to decide whether to keep reading or not.


I am also well aware that this will not be the end of this. I am ready to make my case, since I still do have appreciation for some more original anime and manga. I understand you, and I get it. I am a nerd, and I still read Bleach and Naruto. I regularly play Pokemon. I love Death Note, Fruits Basket, Honey & Clover, Code Geass, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and many others. I am still very open to it. It is simply the fact that I am changing as an artist. I hope you guys can understand this and continue to watch my development.

so...I'm kiiinda procrastinating, but not really. I figure I'm in a pretty good place with my finals, all I need to do is type up two short papers and I'm done. woo! still busy though.

finally uploaded Masquerade to dA...finished it a few weeks ago, actually. just been too crazy a life to upload it. my other finals I probably won't upload...Art History I may after I re-work it over the summer.

I re-did my site: [link] and it has my portfolio and stuff on it. some additional works you haven't seen since they're more fine artsy. still working on the site just tweaking it during class. it's actually one of my finals too. lol XD;;


CON STUFF

ComicCon was a lot of fun...I had a really great portfolio review from the founder of Tokyopop, he was surprisingly very impressed with my work. he seemed very interested in hiring me in the future, but not now since I'm still only a freshman. I'll probably enter The Rising Stars of Manga this year to follow up on that. I know I say that every year, but this time I kinda mean it. lol XD;;

I will be attending some cons you probably don't know about...Mocca in June, and SPX in October. more info about that will be later, 'cause I don't know much about it and I'll have to ask my puppy for specific info. update: MOCCA is on June 7th (he thinks), and SPX is October 4th and 5th this year.

for OTAKON I will have a large table in the Artist Alley and will be sharing it with she will also probably come back to NY with us and I'll show her around...it's gonna be a lot of fun, I am very excited. ^___^

I'll probably be going to more, like NYAF again, but that's in a while so yeah. No AnimeNext this year, I has no monies to go to any other cons that I can't get in for free lol.


school is almost over...it's sad. I'll miss it. I am very excited for next year though, it will be fun. ^__^ sophmore year is the craziest year though, and I will be commuting as well, so I probably won't have any extra time for art to submit here, and FT too. sad. but I know I will get so much better, so it is exciting. I want to try to go in a different direction with my art. I guess you'll see the outcome of my experiments over the summer. lol
