But really, I'm surprised everyone didn't kill me, going on as I was about how awesome it would be. I'll just say that little kids dressed up as pirates is probably the greatest thing I've ever seen.

On Saturday, despite raining profusely, there was a good showing of folks, the vendors had all kinds of pirate memorabillia, both authentic and the tacky. On Sunday I went up alone to take pictures; favorites were the parading of Blackbeard's "head" (paper mache, and 4x the size of a normal human head, nonetheless) and the "capture" of the pirates.

a Canon TX with no lenses, unfortunately, but can remedy that soon.
A mass of filters, (who the hell knew we had filters?)
A bunch of shutter cable thingies, extender lens, all kinds of crazy stuff.

All in all, this loot remedied the 5+ hours I spent researching stem cell research....bleh ]]> ~flameofanor
