And I managed to draw xxlonelyhunterxx that I promised a loong time ago :0

Anyhow Japan was very nice, Amongst many things I got to play Street Fighter 4 for the first time, I won once but mostly got my arse kicked XD

Also I saw monkeys and snakes and huge wasps in the mountains. Apparently they also have small angry black bears. I had lots of strange expectations (due to much anime exposure) when I arrived, but it was totally different

I must have seen it a million times: take off your shoes like one does at home when you enter somewere, right? Still I manage to step on the floor in the ryokan with my shoes on :3 Gomenasai Kayo-san! >< Ah well.

I missed my chance to see a panda since it had died ;_; in Ueno zoo. R.I.P Ling Ling. I've never seen a panda so I really want to see one.

The Gibli museum in Mitaka was very cool, but hard for stupid gajins to get to since the only way was to type in a lot of kana in a strange Lawson-machine that printed tickets XD But we did it! I'm very proud of me and my friend Jens

I did endulge myself in otaku-bonanza stuff that I will talk about some other time XD

Well over and out for now.

With the new moe-wave (if you can call it that) that recently has reached our shores (we have shores here so it's just a figure of speech :3) I was wondering about what anime characters I really do like and why. For instance, what are the key characteristics that makes a character appeal to you? Is it how they behave? What they look like? Is it the world they are in? Perhaps the story?

Thinking out loud here:

Why does Saber from Fate/stay night fair better than Charlotte from Samurai showdown or Jeanne d'Arc from the PSP-game (with the same name) They all have an apperance composed of armour and blue and yellowish cloth

But it's only Saber that apparently sells like hot Haruhis(quote from dannychoo.com somewhere XD (if I remember correctly, maybe it's okay either way :3)). This is referring to figurines, I forgot to mention that. How do

they measure who is going to get figurinized in the first place? Does Saber have an otaku-appeal-impact of 9/10 or something?
8/10?

And they have to measure against some demographical traits too.. How many of the customers like things that are kawaii vs. things that are kakkoii?

Anyhow, I would like to know which ones are your top 3 favourite anime characters

Mine are as follows:

1.Yukari Sensei from Azumanga Daioh (for beeing the most evil character evarr XD and uh teacher fetish thingie. Yup.)

2.Jo Carpenter from Bakuretsu Tenshi (she is somewhat akeen to beeing a closet lesbian Clint Eastwood, you cant go wrong with that..)

3.Noda Megumi from Nodame Cantabile (wich reminds me of me in some wierd way)

I'll make a list of everyones opinions later and post them here next month

Hi, again Yesterday I red about a guy that, well he's 4 years older than me that made several million dollars in two years buy selling homepages wich he made whilst drinking coffee in a coffeeshop. In the article he made it sound so easy and was probably honestly wondering why more people didn't do what he did. Is it about being at the right place at the right time or is it something else? I don't actually have a point about all of this but anyway To me luck seems to be a sort of skill that you can train. Or to phrase it differently there's some sort of hard-work behind the scenes-stuff that doesn't show. All you hear is about the success. Or something :3

I need to do more interesting poses, feels like I'm repeating myself from last year, but that's the problem when you don't think

It's nice to be able to draw but to be honest there's not that many job opportunities open if you don't draw stuff that people want. And it's boring to draw like cars when you like drawing girls. So 90% of the time you'll be doing stuff that you don't want.

I better learn .net or something that generates income. But that also seems like a bad idea compared to the coffee-shop guy.. sigh XD

Think to much and you bang your head against the wall, if you're strong enough the wall brakes and you rampage freely to whatever end. Thanks for watching btw

A lot of work related things swooped down upon me around christmas last year, and when it finally was over I totally lost my ability to draw :/ I dunno, to combine drawing with playing guitar seems to work fine, but apparently not with making homepages.

Yesterday after talking to Kuroi-san on MSN in the middle of the night I finally started to draw again. In the morning it was starting to look a bit less crappy :3 I have managed to make one single sketch after like 20 hours It feels like I'm starting all over again.. ah, well.

And so the snow finally came to the small town. It was in late october, the boy sat on his purple yogaball like most days. Under the desk there where lots of shining lights, glimmering in the deep darkness. A slight humming sound could be recogniced if one choose to listen closley, thought the boy. As well as the sound of running water. Snow fell outside in silence. And suddenly, the fish turned around and looked at the boy. Wonder if the fish needs to swim around like that to filter air from the water, the boy said to himself as he slowly rose from the purple ball and went out into the kitchen. And the fish, the fish said nothing.
Signs that you're getting pulled in by the Japanese cultural revolution is when your squeel in anguish-ness over translated japanese games. It does litterally feel like physical scarring of me poor eardrums sometimes, especially when it's poorly done. X0 How hard can it be to keep an option to include the original language

Then again, I'll guess I was quite happy with it when I was smaller and barely understood english so..

Uhm, the text uh, I still would prefer that in english. Almost forgot. :3 Oh I'm such a hypocrite XD

Wee happy midsummer

From here it only gets darker and colder outside, soon it's going to be two meters of snow again. Since its only warm and sunny for 4-5 weeks at best one tends to appreciate it more I think (when I'm not wiping pidgeon-poo of my balcony) I'm a little at loss on what to do next, shold I try to write a script maybe, or practice drawing backgrounds. Heck knows note to self: make script before attempt at drawing manga. Not the other way around.

I discovered recently that my two fishes which are about 14 centimeters now, will grow to about 80 centimeters, and they can be up to 1 meter and 30 centimeters in the wild. I wish that someone in the animal store whould have told me when I bought them :/ Like, these fishes can become twice the size of your aquarium, maybe it's better to get some smaller ones.. sigh. Maybe it's cleaver advertizing to get me to buy a bigger aquarium :3 The fishes are nice tho, they are called pangasius hypophthalmus in latin and "shark-catfish" in swedish. I dont know the english name for them.

I realized that I need to spend about twice as much time on each pic in order to iron out common mistakes and flaws XD Thanks again to those that pointed stuff out, where would I be without you?

Please continue to do so ( but only if you want to )
It's somewhat hectic right now, my univ-japanese exam is in the beginning of july, and Tomiyama-sensei probably plans to hunt us with shinais if we fail. XD Nah, she is actually an amazing person. Tremendously overqualified for teaching us actually :0 I'm happy that she is there.

Right now I'm trying to design an Usagi MKIII armour, but it's hard. Got inspired by watching E3-stuff tho, I really liked the FFXIII clip like, Oaah, how do they do it? XD But I'm sure that they make heaps and heaps of stuff and just use the best design from there.

Hi and welcome to my page ^^

I've kind of figured out that I need to get better at various things in order to produce better quality images.

Thoughts on stuff:

1. Study anatomy like there's no tomorrow. Which means continuity in drawing bodyparts on paper I guess. It's something that I should do every day.

24/4 - Hands and eyes are used to express feelings and therefore of more importance. General bodyposture is important too. I need more practice making them neat girly-hands X0

2. Learning to paint. Colour theory is good but what I really need is to be able to visualize how a finished result should look like and then magically conjure it up somehow

24/4 - Figured out some stuff regarding "warm" colours vs "cool" colours. There's a way to pick out cooler or warmer colour in photoshop. Instead of using the general colour picker you can choose the RGB-one and pic higher or lower values on R and B. And apply them as you see fit along the z- axis in your pic

This is probably only appliable when you have one lightsource.

3. My lineart is actually rather ok I think. I'm happy with trying to use the pencil tool and ordinary brushes in Photoshop. I tried flash for a while, but it looked to mechanical somehow.

24/4 - I'm really into not having to ink right now ^^, trying to improve with sketching.

4. Better design. I've found out that this is closely connected with the ability to make sketches. And the ability to be impression(ated) XD by your surroundings.

24/4 - When does it stop to be anime and start to be something else? For me it's mainly the eyes for some reason. Some drawings I do just don't look enough anime, I've yet to figure out what the key parts are that makes up an "anime"- drawing

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, critique highly encouraged. Scream at me and tell me I suck XD
It's the only way I'll ever learn.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

27/4 - Thanks to everyone that has commented ^^ It's a bit overwhelming when you're used to 3-4 pageviews a day XD

Regarding the pageview crusade, uhm, I've been told that if one tends to the little things the big things will work out by themselves, to sum it all up I shouldn't worry to much about it XD (morrowindy reference again )

I've now a clear understanding of where I wish to go from here on.

I'll try to message everyone back, but there's only one of me 0_o

and thanks for reading this highly irrashional piece of text ^^

btw, I found a nice tut on composition here: [link]age=

Sorry for not drawing anything lately, but I've been confined in my bed due to fever for the last week or so. Well, it's a part of life I'll guess..

I got myself an account at [link] last week, they have amazing gear for drawing stuff there

Hello again ^^

Hm, when I watch my early pics it's like: omg what where I thinking, but that's probably a good thing if it continoues to be like uh, so.

Right now I find it much easier to draw on the computer, but I tend to make silly anatomical mistakes that I don't do when I draw on paper. And I don't know why X0

Colours is a big enigma, I discussed with my friend Jens on cromatic scales and how you are supposed to pick out certain colours, how they fit together and so on. (uhm, like music scales) I can analyze my pics after they are done but mostly I don't know which colours to use and why.

I need to get better at forecasting which colours to use I'll guess.

I made lots of progress last week :0 I read basic colour theory here (wiki) [link] trying to figure out how to paint. Made a few tests with complement-colours wich all looked bleh.

After that I had a go at Linda's hair-tutorial over at furiae.com of wich I understood almost nothing XD
(she is super amazing btw, I could prolly draw for ten lifetimes and not get anywhere near.. )
But uhm, I learned to do custom brushes

I finally figured out that I can get away with having like 6 layers in photoshop instead of 60 if I paint instead of making each colour a layer + shadows + more shadows and so on.

So yeah, I'm going to paint a lot more I think

Hellooo!

And welcome to my page.

Here I will discuss various topics that is of concern to me, like for instance, why are all my backgrounds either white or shades of purple? (almost all of them maybe XD). About me, uhm I am sort of an Illustrator/webdesigner. I have a master's degree in systems analysis, (I almost dunno what that means tho, don't flame me for it plz it's called something else in swedish) but here I'll (obviously) try to draw stuff.

Hm, if you play mmorpg's you tend to pick up ways of spelling that's faster but more anoying to the poor people reading.. I'll try to ease up on that.
