It's been a long while since I've painted on a regular basis, but that's starting to change as I'm making time for myself these days. Working on several pieces, with more in the sketchbook just waiting for canvas. I'm working towards a show in late winter, and I'm working hard to get it. working alot, painting alot. not a whole lot of time for deviantart as of late. just started a large oil piece. 6' x 8'. renting a studio so i can go larger and paint more regularly. sketching out a 6'x 10' piece, but i'll need special order the canvas. new job as an ad monkey for a local monthy news journal and bozeman guide. not bad work, it buys the paint. otherwise i've been very retrospective latley, kind of made me sad. i'm out

So I'm sitting in my apartment at my computer just down from my roomate and all of a sudden the desk starts wobbling. Anoyed, I look up at my roommate with questioning gaze, but he's doing the same to me. It's then that I notice that all of our pictures seem to be ungulating, as a matter of fact, everything is. So that was my first earthquake, and in Montana no less. It was only a 5.6, and it was about 50 miles away, but it's very discomforting when the ground wobbles.

Ive cleaned out my gallery here. It felt cluttered and messy. I think Ill only keep new work here from now on.

I find that I have become disenfranchised with deviantART as of late. I understand that this is a community site, but it just feels that the larger it grows the less focused on the art it becomes. I suppose its been that way for awhile now. Im not ranting and raving, complaining or bitching. Im not demanding it be fixed and made right for my benefit. Frankly I think there are far more people that see DA for its social aspects rather than for the art and the artists. Not to say that the site lacks art and artists, there are SO many very, very talented artists here. The problem is that it has become increasingly difficult to find them amidst the noise that is deviantART. I can browse this site for hours and MAYBE find a handful of pieces of any merit. Tucked in between the never ending stream of vanity snapshots, the obsessive fan art, (sorry if I offend) the drivel there are jewels, that I love finding. It has all just become too much, and made the whole process almost not worth the effort. I find myself just sticking with the artists Ive found over the years, browsing their galleries, and their favorites for new and refreshing work. Like I said, I dont expect it to be fixed because I dont like the way its going, anymore than I expect to change the course of a river because I dont like the bends. These are just my thoughts on the matter.

Well the featured chat with `arcipello and myself went fairly well. Lasted a little over two hours, lots of questions, a few drawn out answers. Subscriptions where handed out by the man up front, so some people went home happy. Next featured chat is with °attila and °matteo. It should be interesting.

Along with the new domain is a new site design, nothing fancy, just something that works.

I've been painting alot, and selling more of them. I'll try and get some shots and scans done, post them.

I've got a new series in the works, one I have been meaning to get around to for awhile. It will be titled oneHALF. It's the second series in a series of 4 series. The first installment was the 25 pieces of oneFOURTH. My intentions are to compleate 4 installments with a total of 100 pieces, so maybe I'll get around to it.

Speaking of the oneFOURTH series, I running a little "sale" on the prints through DAprints. I've dropped the prices on all sizes a considerable amount, so if you ever wanted prints from the series, now is a good a time as any.

On other fronts, I'm slowly settling in out here in North Carolina. I like it here, but I don't know anyone, and that's how that goes.

i'm moving soon, in the next few weeks, east. i'll be driving from montana to kansas city where i will stay for a few days and visit with family, then i'll be heading to north carolina to hang out with friends and partake in there couch for an amount of time i havn't quite thought out yet, and then i'll settle somewhere. i've decided i need more of a local artistic community. don't get me wrong montana has it's artists, lots of them, some of them even talented. the problem with the local scene is.. it's far to western, and when i say western i don't mean it's west of the miss. i mean it's cowboys, and barns, and mountain landscape and not a whole lot more. so all this being said if anybody wants to go get smashed with a stranger on my route east, by all means let me know.

she's been on here for some time it seems, but i just found her. she's a damned fine photographer, go see.

My two latest pieces are included in said chapter. The series I am doing was originaly called 99 and was in fact intended to consist of 99 individual pieces. After some thought I have decided.... that is not gonna happen. I'll be cutting the number or pieces in the series down just a bit... to 25. just a little. The series is going well I think. I've started my limited edition run of each piece that has been compleated. I'm doing 25 sets on a nice heavy fine art paper.
