Obviously I'm recently obsessed with decoupage. I have several styles of boxes (round, rectangular, star-shaped, and some others) in my possession already, I also have some small frames, and wooden cigar boxes I can decoupage per request. I have a few old vinyl records still I can decoupage for commission as well.

In addition to my regular decoupage work, I have literally hundreds of pressed flowers sitting in large dictionaries at home and I can incorporate them into frames, or do a collage using the flowers (example: [link])

I've also made a few pieces on thick paper using old book pages as background with pressed flowers, and scriptures or quotes on them. (I also make beautiful cards)

Longer process commissions for me would be colored pencil or graphite pencil drawings, or paintings, per request.

I'm kinda hoping this will result in something.....

I'm registered for all my college classes. I'll be taking English 101, Intermediate Algebra, Oral Communication (Speech), and Intro to Astronomy. (I needed to take a science class and all of them were full except astronomy...but I enjoy looking at the stars so I'm sure it won't be boring). I will be taking all of these on Mondays and Wednesdays, and hopefully be working the rest of the week. Classes start August 22nd, and I went "school shopping" today. I feel like such a little kid again....b/c I bought a backpack and a lunchbox, and highlighters, and pretty folders. I'm such a nerd. :) Oh well, I'm sure someone will think I'm adorable and befriend me. I'm getting so nervous about the first day. It's like the first day of middle school, when you knew like 30 other kids that went to your elementary school, but everyone else was from somewhere else. I'm so akward when I first meet people, so I'm pretty much dreading my first day. *sigh* Anyways, just thought I'd write a little personal update.

Well first of all, I thought I'd tell you about my experience modeling for :icondella-stock: on Friday....we went out to the beach and she took pictures while I rolled around in the sand in a formal gown. Check out her pictures here [link] . The interesting part though is what I went through Saturday when I realized I had to clean it off before I could take it to be drycleaned. So I took the dress out in our driveway and used the garden hose to rinse the majority of the sand off. Then I decided the easiest thing to do would be to rinse the rest off in the shower. This is the funny part....I actually had to put the soaking wet dress on while in the shower in order to get the sand off. I used the removable shower head to rinse while holding up each separate layer of the dress, over my shoulder, to get all the sand off. It was such a pain but it looks like new. No one would know if went swimming in the ocean! :giggle:

I'm so used to not relying on anyone else to get what I need. I hate that feeling when you have to rely on someone else to take you somewhere or to pay for something.....even when I lived with my parents I hated that. So yeah, that's a bit irritating, especially since I don't know what's wrong yet, how much it will cost to fix it, or how long I will have to leave it there. :omfg:

Anyways, it looks nice outside today. :sun: Probably in the 80's so far, its slightly cloudy. I wish I was at the beach, but its only Wednesday. :painter: I've really been in the mood to draw lately but I just haven't had the time....which makes me miss school b/c we were pretty much forced to work on a project and finish it. I have a bunch of projects I've started but I haven't finished. I hate that. I'm such a procrastinator too...so something I started last summer is still waiting for me to finish it and hang it on a wall somewhere. Does anyone else ever get bored with the piece they're working on, so you have to start a new one, and it takes forever for you to get back to working on the original?? I have that problem. I suppose that's why I've really taken to photography....it takes less time and energy but still releases those "creative juices" and makes me feel good. I simply love the way art makes me feel....such a stress reliever. :deviation:

You know what is really starting to bug me.....all the wannabe artists using deviant. I absolutely hate when I'm just browsing and looking at other peoples galleries and I stumble across a gallery that is merely filled with random, thoughtless personal snapshots. Like someone said to themselves "hey, I think I will take a picture of myself and I will call it a masterpiece". That's fine and dandy if they consider something to be art because, in my opinion, art itself is a personal interpretation of something. But in all honesty there are too many of these so called "artists" claiming space on deviant and I truly believe they should go find themselves a place at myspace or something. :stupid: It's absurd to think there are so many great artists using deviant, some who could really call themselves professionals, and yet there are people out there who fill their galleries with random personal photos, random photos of friends, or sketches on notebook paper-buy a sketch book for goodness sakes! Ugh. Enough venting though....I don't like to vent so I will stop now. It doesn't do any good anyways.

Maybe its all this rain. It's been pouring today and I've got what seems to be a cold and it's putting me in a sour mood. The worst thing is I'm stuck at my horribly boring job until 5 so I'm just counting down the minutes till I can go home.

*Note: For those of you who don't know what an appraisal is....It's basically an assessment of the value of a home used for buying, selling, or refinancing purposes.

I've heard that incorporating animals into a logo is a good marketing idea. Therefore I chose to use a cheetah in my concept because we have a 24 hour turn around time. So it's getting across the message that we're fast. My concept is that this cheetah is so fast that his spots are coming off. The image would be above the company's name and address and would be used on letterheads, business cards, etc. I would like some critiques please. Please view image here [link] .
