You know, when I first  considered publishing Caribbean Blue http://cblue.katbox.net/ , I wondered how much interest there would actually be in the book. So I ran a couple of polls on the site to measure how much people would be willing to spend (which would define if I could make two 150 page volumes or three 100 page ones), and located an on demand publisher that could handle small order runs.

I also started to prepare the material, and a lot of effort was invested into updating the artwork of the early part of the story. Ever since I started working on the Caribbean Blue webcomic ( http://cblue.katbox.net/ ) back in 2005, I've always dreamed of releasing it in printed form, and at long last that day has finally arrived!

Well, almost... But the ball is really rolling now ^_^'

There is still some editing to be done, but with summer around the corner, I will be able to get some serious crunch time in. So much that I'm ready to start taking preorders with an expected release date of August 2012.

So I'm finally back from vacation, and finally recovered from that terrible jet lag! Total 9 days in Japan and 6 in Thailand, what an amazing trip this was!

Got to see a lot of stuff in Japan this time, including a traditional portable shrine festival, sumo tournament and the anime fair in Tokyo.

The drivers are ok, the worst that happened to me was a bruised leg. The cars however... not so much.

Even with insurance its going to cost me at least 1200 to fix and pay for the ticket, so I may have to consider opening up commissions again.

I'm taking advantage of the thanksgiving holidays to format the first 105 pages of Caribbean Blue to be released as volume 1 (out of 3 to be eventually released). I hope to have it on sale by mid December, just in time for Christmas. This should give me enough time to print and review a prototype, and get some decent cover art for it.

The estimated price will be 14.99, for a total of 110 pages. Its a bit more expensive than your mass produced manga, yes, but you have to take into account that its a color comic  ^_^'

I do need some help though. At first, the system just stopped responding after freezing up when I tried to boot up Bad Company 2 for the first time. I had to take the system apart and test part by part just to get something to come up on the screen, and even then it was a low resolution and slow to the point of it lagging during window moving)

At least the comic and art files are all intact.

Device manager shows an exclamation point under my video card with a "This device cannot start" message (installing new drivers does nothing).

I'm not really sure what to do at this point. >.>

Well, truth is that it flies no matter what you seem to be doing XD

The trip went very well, got to do almost everything I wanted to do, and save for a short bout with some food poisoning (I'm pretty sure it was the undercooked egg in some ramen). I took about 1600 pictures and recorded about 3 hours of videos, but I'm still shifting through it all. I also kept a travel diary of sorts, and hopefully I'll be able to edit it all together for some posts here on DA.

Last year I traveled to Japan with friends, I enjoyed myself so much I wanted to go back and experience a lot of things I missed out the first time around. I researched plane tickets for months before finally booking flights to and from Tokyo (Narita) early October 2010.

Been planning the trip in detail for months since then.

Earthquake. Tsunami. Radiation.

Wow, it's been a while since I updated this. At first I would think there is not much new to report, but actually a number of things have been going on, so here's the major highlights:

Friday:
Arrived in Monterrey around 1PM local time, Avencri and a freind picked me up and we went straight to the convention grounds. At the enterence I met Chalo, Jeso, and MagoLobo who were also arriving at the event. After getting our wristbands we headed inside and set up out tables :)

6 years on DA, and about to pass the 200k mark. I guess its been pretty slow, but I don't really care about that XD Being on DA has allowed be to meet tons of great artists and has helped me improve my art quite a bit. Still, I hope I can hit 400k before the 12 year mark XD
