So as I mentioned before, I've been working on a ton of concepts and interface items for "Sacred Seasons 2"...and I am excited to announce that the public beta has gone live! I've never been a morning person- so I'm in the middle of pulling an all-nighter to jump on a butt-crack-of-dawn flight to San Francisco- I'm pretty stoked about this trip because I'll be hanging out in the Bay Area with my brother and a couple of friends including :iconzatransis: for ....uh...a month? All I know is that I bought a one way ticket and have a pimped out garage to hang out in - haha =)

Anyway, Zat and I will be planning some Bay Area sketch jams...soon...

So yeah I have been crazy absent from DA- but thankfully due to some cool recent events.

As of last month, I have been transitioning into a new full-time concept artist gig for a new game =) SO- during my last job's two weeks notice, I have been burning the weekend and midnight oil trying to get everything in line.

With that being said, I am starting to get used to my new schedule and plan to work in some new work soon!

Just got back from hangin' in Chicago for nearly a week to attend my cousin's wedding- good times! While having a blast sitting on the plane and in the airport for hours, I put together a couple sketches. I thought a couple of them would be fun to experiment with in Photoshop. =)

So yeah- I'm alive! haha.

This last month has been nutso- Lots of random, cool things going on.
Traveling, deadlines, and a couple new projects in the works! =D

I've been traveling back and forth between Charlotte, San Diego, Raleigh, Nashville, L.A. and San Fran. While hanging in the Bay Area, I was invited by the 10th Muse gang to jump in on a podcast (Episode 62) =)

The con was a blasty-blast =) There was so much going on- I'm ready to pass out haha. While I was out, I was able to sign on D.A. sporadically and found out I was nominated for my first Daily Deviation! Now that it's all did and done, I want to thank everyone for stopping by, giving feedback, and leaving comments. JEEZ. I have been uber-low-key as of late, but lots of things are in the works!

I had a great time at Heroes Con and came back with a whole new mindset on what I need to make happen. Since then, I have been partaking in a couple new projects, and will be sure to post info when I can =)  Lots and lots of drawing involved...  (8_X)

ALSO- as :iconzatransis: mentioned, I am officially attending the San Diego Comic Con this year! WOO!

I  finally got a night to finish up the line work on this one =)

So basically this is one of those random concepts that wouldn't leave my mind until I put it down. I've had this idea of creating some kind of amoeba shell around a girl for some time now, but thought it was missing something... SO- I threw in some tattoos, bullets, forks, and a separated brain to accommodate the issue.

The shield derives from the girl's tattoos. She can control its form allowing her to attack or protect. Dodge and Burn Method in Photoshop:

-click on layer/New layer
-set the layer mode to "overlay"
-and check the box that says "fill with neutral layer 50% gray"

This layer will allow you to use the dodge and burn tool above the layer you want to touch-up with out the possibility of ruining your original colors/linework.

A lot of people have been asking about the "Cintiqery"...so I figured I would post my first impressions of it =)

INTUOS 3 VS CINTIQ 12WX:

I used to work on a Wacom Intuos 3 (8"x6"), and just bought a Cintiq 12wx. So far, I am LOVING the CIntiq comparitively. I was nervous about the screen size being too small, but since I was used to working on the Intuos, It hasn't bothered me. The Intuos is great for coloring, but very difficult to use for putting down final lines. I often found myself throwing a line, then hitting ctrl+Z over an over due to the visual disconnect.
