Ok, so i know i don't really update this much but i might start doing this more. I am now officially done my first year at York and I have to say I was a little dissapointed with it. I was expecting there to be a little more actual learning as opposed to the whole modernist "everything goes" thing, not to mention the pointless classes which you are forced to take which try to push the modernist ideas into everyone's heads. Granted it does give me a place to learn and I am growing as an artist but most of the learning is done on my own. In fact, one of the most usefull courses that I took was psychology. I am thinking I may not even take drawing again at that school and just teach myself considering the class I took was supposed to be the one on perspective and proportion and we didn't learn either. I will continue and just learn from my own sources however, i really wish the system was better considering the money I am paying for it.

On a side note, since I have been out of school I have started reading a couple books on my own which a friend told me about. I have to say the book is amazing so far and I would suggest that anybody interested in improving themselves as an artist, no matter which style, should read this. It's called Classical Drawing Atelier by Juliette Aristides. Amazing, amazing, amazing. It talks about composition, line, movement, proportion etc. There is also another book by this author on historical techniques to painting which I am looking forward to reading. Well that's all for now!

Ciao
