1] What is your pen name?
I tend to use one of three: Harlequin, Twitch, or Kpibca, which is as close as I can get to the Russian word for 'rat'. My real pen name is Nathan, taken from my middle name. So there.

2] How did you get the name?
Kpibca I came up with when I needed a new AIM name, Harlequin is based on my view of the world and how harlequins were originally narrators and observers in stories, not necessarily participants. Twitch I just have because when I get panic attacks my right eye starts going crazy.

3] Do you use PC or Mac?
A PC I got in Russia.

4] What software you use most often?
WinAMP, uTorrent, Trillian, Firefox.

5] Do you use mouse, or tablet?
I use a mouse. I wish I had a tablet, though.

6] The color you use most often is?
Probably black. Outlines, shading... black is very versatile.

7] What area of the pictures do you put most effort into?
In general, I work more on making sure the picture looks like it did in my head than anything else. This might mean more attention to shading, or to smaller details, but it depends entirely upon the style I'm going for.

8] How long does it take you to draw a picture?
On average, half an hour to three hours, depending on what I'm doing. Some of my vector art has taken days, and some of it I was done with in under an hour.

9] Do you keep your rough drafts?
Just in case I need to start over again.

10] What kind of font do you use most often?
Probably Tahoma or something. I can't remember what my IM font is.

11] What's the dpi when you scan?
I actually don't have a scanner, so I try to do everything right on the computer, at 300 dpi or so.

12] Do you do anything else when you're drawing pictures?
I ALWAYS have music playing, and I try to keep Trillian turned off. It's impossible for me to talk to people and draw.

13] How many pictures do you draw in a month?
I haven't drawn much at all this month aside from some designs for a friend's tattoo, but usually I'll complete three or four things. This month, though, it's more like one.

14] What kind of paper do you draw your pictures on?
I just use printer paper or sketchbook paper, when I do things by hand.

16] How long does it take to ink something?
I probably haven't inked anything since I was fourteen, I do just about everything on the computer.

17] Do you do doujinshi or original manga?
I'm not much of a manga artist, no.

18] Do you like doujinshi? Is it fun making it?
This question should not be here.

19] Ever submitted anything to a magazine?
Not yet, but very soon.

20] Did it get published?
I sure hope it will. ...did.

21] Who are your favorite artists?
Gary Larson, Michel Gange, , and Jeff Smith.

22] What's your favourite Anime/Manga?
My favorite anime will always be Big O, and my favorite manga will always be Ranma 1/2.


23] Favourite Character?
Godzilla. In anything. He's been in books, cartoons, manga, comic books, paintings... he qualifies for all of it.

24] Any artists that you'd like to draw like?
Oh gosh, this is a hard one. Pretty much anybody but Rob Liefield. Jeff Smith, ideally, but I'd settle for much less.

25] Do you buy books a lot?
Not as often as I used to, I'm mostly re-reading the old ones right now.

26] Did you ever buy a book to inspire you to draw?
Oh, plenty of times.

27] Any video games you enjoy?
At the moment I'm playing Soul Calibur IV, which is great because I can use the create-a-character mode to design my own people for stories. I also am LOVING Metal Gear Solid 4.

28] Any favourite characters from video games?
Mumbo Jumbo from Banjo-Kazooie, Yoshi from the Mario series, and King K. Rool from Donkey Kong Country. He should have been in Brawl...

29] Do you have a favourite writer?
John LeCarre, Emily Dickinson, and Stephen King are my big three.

30] Any books you really enjoy?
Anansi Boys, The Amazing Maurice & his Educated Rodents, and the A Series of Unfortunate Events books are my favorites.

31] Do you write fanfics?
I swore off fanfics when I was around fourteen. It's just not good for me.
