First off: I would like to apologize profusely for the amount of time it's taking me to finish the commissions. THEY WILL BE FINISHED, I promise! I'm just such a terrible procrastinator, and I'm very very sorry about that.

Like, so I was totally in Walmart, right? And I, like, was looking at posters because my dad was, like, getting chicken food... anyway. I totally found a Transformers G1 poster! Isn't that just totally, like, awesome?

Anyway, I did actually find this really wicked G1 poster... my only complaint is that Starscream is in alt-form.

Well, Armada finally arrived.

Unfortunately, it doesn't play in my DVD player or my PS2.

Fortunately, my PC, Vincent, rawks. Why? Because Armada plays in it!

So... yeah. I'm pretty addicted, even though I can see why some people aren't huge fans of it. The kids are SO FRIGGING ANNOYING. I don't know why they even bother having them in it. Buuuuuut... on the plus side the Minicons are so adorable you want to puke, so that's okay. I really like the designs for the Transformers, too, although I can't help but notice that Megatron looks a lot like Shrapnel's and Kickback's
twisted love-child.

The animation itself is fairly good, although I've noticed that it follows in the finest tradition of anime with lots of static shots and scenes where only the mouths move.

All in all, a purchase well worth the wait.

Only now do I realize just HOW much of a geek I truly am. TF the movie came out, and I've been on this HUGE as in COLOSSAL Transformers kick ever since.

...and it's showing no signs of stopping.

It survived the entire G1 series and now is prodding me into buying Armada. Ah, well.

In other news... not certain if I'm going to Ohayocon or not, anymore. It's very expensive, and the two at-home friends that I wanted to bring along probably can't go... Sorry, Bishie!

Perhaps JTAF... if they have one this year... and if they get it set up in time. I really wanna go to Botcon, but that's a long trip too. :/

Woooow... random, totally uninteresting junk. Hm. I must try harder.

^_^ Hiyas! I got back from a trip to Kauai about a week ago... it was awesome. I was there during the quake. All the islanders were all "omgwtfbbq!" and I was all "lol liek kewl".

Anywho...

Halloween is tomorrow! Yay! And I have to work... But I do get to dress up! That makes it allll better, lol.

I've been working on a halloween image. I do not kid. It's all scanned and digi inked and I've started coloring it. In fact, all I'm really doing now is adding in the shines and shadows. :3

Buuuuuut... knowing me and my procrastination problem... it may not show up until the day after Halloween. Thank goodness it's not particularly Halloween-ey. >.>

This journal will be updated as I watch new and old movies that I feel everyone in their right minds should watch. It will be a list of films, with a short description of each.

Kinky Boots - Based on a true story. A men's shoe company is going out of business, and the heir turns to kinky boots for men to save the family legacy. Funnier than it sounds, I swear. It's got great music, and a very familiar actor to anyone who's seen Serenity playing a drag queen.

Serenity - Simply the best sci-fi movie made in a long, long time. The music is great, the special effects are awesome, and the plot twist is wonderfully executed. If you enjoy Serenity, then you should watch Firefly, the TV show that Serenity stemmed from.

A Scanner Darkly - Can we say head trip? A twisted tale about a not-so-distant future in which almost everyone is addicted to a strange drug called Substance D. Beautifully animated through retroscoping (animating over live-action film). Based on the novel by Phillip K. Dick, who also wrote the novel Bladerunner.

Mirrormask - Simply awesome. My hat is off to Neil Gaiman on this one. The script is funny, entertaining, and actually works with the strange world of Dave McKean. If you like The Labyrinth, you'll love this.

The Wild - Yeah, I know it's been out for a while... but I just saw it yesterday. I liked it, better than Madagascar, personally. Interesting parallels, but what can you expect when one half of a creative team jumps ship and pitches the idea to Dreamworks? Yes, that's right, Disney wasn't just trying to compete. Amazing. I think the thing that got me about the movie was that William "Kirk" Shatner played Kazar and actually sounded EVIL!

Hot Fuzz/Shaun of the Dead - First I have to say that I'm reviewing these two together because that's the way I'd like to watch them. That way, you laugh so hard you feel like you're going to puke. Which is a good thing. Seriously. Both of these movies are utterly brilliant comedy from utterly brilliant people. The special effects are astounding, and no humans were hurt in the making of either film.

...although it certainly looks like they were.

Transformers ('07) - Awesomeawesomeawesome. Although I may be a bit biased. The comedy scenes in it are surprisingly well-executed, there is an actual plot, and the writers made a ton of shout-outs to the TF fandom. That, and there's big, bad-ass mechanoids bashing each other throughout the film. My only complaint about this movie was the death of a character that -- since watching G1 -- I have become very attached to.

Oh, yeah, I should say... this is some of ILMs best work to-date. An awesome special effects company that keeps pushing the envelope, and boy did they push it hard.

I'm officially a college girl! Woot! It's not as bad as I expected, although it is a little lonely, since none of my friends are in any of my classes.

Then again, I did opt to ease into college life, so I'm only taking yoga, life drawing I, and jazz choir.

They're all pretty fun classes, but I have to say that downward facing dog is the most ebil yoga pose I've had to do yet.

Jazz choir is fun... we're singing some songs that I really like... "Fly Me to the Moon" and "Killing Me Softly With His Song".

A major plus to being on a college campus is all the hot guys that are my age and a little older. Big, big bonus, especially since I've caught a few of them actually checking me out.

I'm thinking of having a booth at the Anime Faire this year... although I'd have to get some prints of a few of my pieces, and work on some new ones... which I have been very lazy and not really working on anything... >.> WoW is a major distraction from art, lol.

Well, that and school and work.

I'm so excited! Next month one of the Indie's (Independant Films) that our theater is getting will be A Scanner Darkly! I've wanted to see that since forever! Retroscoping looks really cool.

Oh, if any of you live near SF... I'd love to see you at the Anime Faire this year! It would be cool. XD

Things have been a little messed up lately.

But.

I'm pretty much back on the wagon and I PROMISE there will be new art soon.
