This latest series (although only 4 images edited down from 10) is in preparation for a larger piece I plan to do in about 3 months time. The images are part of my 'Good Photography' brief and consist of a single or selection of images taken from a famous on-line auction website. The objects were then rephotographed in a studio environment and placed along side the originals in order to show the difference between good and bad photography.

The next stage phase of this project is to acquire more objects that have been photographed poorly and rephotograph them in a technically correct way. I'll then create auctions for the newly photographed objects and see if they sell for more than I paid.

Hopefully what I'll see is if people warm to the formality of the images and believe the descriptions I give them more than the one that accompanied the original photograph or if seeing the object in a setting that people can relate to (familiar DVDs, material covers/colours) helps them associate with the item and make it seem more real and obtainable.
