Well I entered a Disgaea Comic Strip Contest a while back and finally got to see the results. Even though I didn't win I did get a honorable mention. To be honest I thought I was going to win, but oh well.

Here's the link to the contest results:
[link]

I'm the Madhadder entry if you're wondering.

I think the most pleasing part of this contest was it literality took me about a minute to fill in the comic bubbles.

I always browse random deviantart accounts and I love some of the artwork that people do. Because of this I decided to get off my lazy butt and actually practice drawing once more. Once I draw a sketch I'll also attempt to use Photoshop to color it.

And BTW I know my artwork isn't going to be as amazing as most of my fav's but hence why I need practice.

For all the people who draw well and have amazing art skills in general (Like Photoshop or even Photography) give yourselves a pat on the back you've earned it.

I had a chance to work as a Photoshop Artist in the Video Game industry. 3 things would have been obtained: Money, Experience, and my foot in the gaming industry. The interview itself couldn't have went better because if it did they would have given me a gift basket.

But I also had to take a photoshop test. It's hard to explain what I had to do, but I'll try to explain. They gave my photo's of 3 people, they wanted me to take the 3 people and put them on 1 image; easy enough. Then they wanted me to turn them into more of a graphic/cartoon type style. They said it would take roughly 2 hours and it did.

After sending my first entry they gave me a reply to try again, then I spent another 2 hours and sent it and they sent it back saying to try again, and then I tried my last time and they said "It's still not what we're looking for but your time and effort is appreciated". If I got the job they were supposed to call yesterday, which they didn't.

Well it's great to know that my time and effort was appreciated, well that's nice how much does that pay? Nothing, oh good to know I wasted more than 5 hours total. (Not counting the volunteer work I did for them but that's another story.)

I can color sketches in Photoshop, add/remove something, create things, and even do animation in Photoshop, but of course they wanted me to do something I've never done before.

Overall I'm just venting that I could of had a job in the gaming industry, something I wanted since I was 10, and could have finally had a job after a little more than a year. Lame.

After getting the Limited Edition of Street Fighter 4 on the release date, it's been fun. But honestly I think I may re-buy Street Fighter 3rd Strike. Both games are pretty fun but 3rd Strike was damn sexy.

With being able to parry almost any move, theme music for almost (if not every) character, juggling your opponent like a crazy person (though not as ridiculous as Marvel vs. series.), and specials that don't just damage your opponent. (Like healing, increasing power, etc.) It's still a hardcore game even today.

If they ever make a Super Street Fighter 3rd Strike HD like they did Street Fighter 2 HD; I would be playing that game for years to come. Online play FTW baby!
