It was a great honour to be selected as a finalist in Asia Without Borders, Asia's leading photo competition organised by award-winning magazine Asian Geographic!

The competition boasts 9,000 entries from over 30 countries and this year, underwater photographer Brian Skerry and world-renowned photographer Steve McCurry was involved as first round judges with a live judging grand finale held on 07 December 2012.

I've been away for some time! Have been quite busy after I decided to turn full-time to photography. Work has been satisfying, and it's really great to be able to meet people from all walks of life!

Just an update on what's been going on lately :wave:

I have uploaded a new deviation Behind the mask. This genre of photography was the "trying something different" I mentioned about in my previous journal entry. I hope I did not scare anyone away with my amateurish attempt :D :faint:

Just some latest updates.
Just very recently, I have been officially accepted as a Getty Images contributor! Just very briefly, in the photography world, Getty Images is something like an online stock image library. It's definitely an honour to be accepted. Another small step forward for me yay! :) :w00t:

I received news that one of my close relatives was swept away by the typhoon, Washi, which rampaged over the Southern islands in the Philippines. Apparently, he was directly located around the main river, working up on a crane or something, when disaster struck...Until now, he has not been found... This was so sudden, and came as a shock to everyone. We are hoping everyday for a miracle.

This incident made me realise again how fragile human beings are. And made me recall my past memories of another friend and relative.

Looking back at my gallery, some of my first deviations on DA were First light, Mount Robson, and were submitted in the first week of Dec. It's been more than a week since then.

Maybe some of you are wondering what the title means. Although as all of you can see that my account has been here for 3 years (!), I forgot all about it and was inactive all the while. It was only until the past week that I decided to start my journey on DA.
I'm not sure what was the reason, but maybe because I was feeling down recently and was looking for an outlet... Something terrible happened, but that'll be for another post...
