Grandma finally gave me my graduation present. Twenty five whole dollars. Thanks grandma, I sure don't spend twice that a week on groceries.

And then to make up for the mishap with the toothbrushes, my dad gave me a gift card to Target.
Only it was from 2007 and when I checked the balance there was nothing on it.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much for Christmas, but I wasn't really expecting to be completely insulted, either. Am I fucking adopted? Am I someone's bastard child? Are my teeth that bad? I know it's the thought that counts... but something tells me there isn't much thought in a used gift card.

Merry fucking Christmas! This is really the cherry on top of being LAID OFF on Christmas Eve!

So even though I have bills to pay and no income, I'm going to go out today and buy myself some nice shit. Because fuck everything. No really 2009 has been great for me. Except for the part where it was the worst year of my entire life.

The apartment is lovely and everything is fabulous. The amazing ~prawnsy, out of the kindness in her heart, helped us lift heavy boxes into our tiny abode that our frail arms could not manage. Thank you, Amanda. Thamanda.

When we get internet (eventually) and get all settled in, I will probably be less of a horrible recluse. And maybe actually draw something for once that isn't a doodle of a Neopet while I'm supposed to be reveling in the thrills of real estate.

I always draw people facing left. At the same angle. Doing the same things...

I used to have a good balance of both, but now I usually stick with the digital world. Digital monsters.

NO BECAUSE I WAS WORKING ON THAT RIGHT BEFORE MY BRAIN WENT "FUCK YOU, YOU DON'T GET TO DRAW ANYMORE."

How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
It used to take me up to eight hours. Back in the good old days. Now I usually slop something together in a couple hours and call it good.

What music do you listen to while you draw?
Anything from trip hop to hard NRG to electronica to power metal. I can't not listen to music while I draw.

How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
It depends. Usually ideas just come to me but OH I GUESS THEY DON'T WANT TO NOW.

Your favorite drawing utensils?
Wacom Intuos 3. Except for the part where I've been using it every day since 2004 so there are hell of scratches that shit up what I'm trying to do. I don't treat it rough, things just wear after so much use. Also Sakura Micron's are nice. I own a set of Copic Multiliners but they kind of blow in comparison. $60 dollars I will never have again. I also prefer Prismacolor markers over Copic markers, so I don't see what everyone's deal over Copic is because I always prefer other products over them. Fuck you Copic, your markers don't blend as well and your pens smear.

Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
Lately BLACK AND WHITE. I don't know why. I like all colors though.
