I've decided that my art muscle needs to unrustify and beef up if I'm ever going to do anything useful with it.
So right now, I'm doing nothing but sketch sketch sketch.
Just so y'all know, I'll be updating this journal entry as I post more sketches. =3

If you're watching my scraps, then you've already seen the two sketches I did today.

So far, I'm just taking photos of family and friends and drawing off of them.
I'm also currently taking requests, but let me first lay out exactly what I will be doing.

First and foremost, All I'm doing is sketches. I'm not doing full-blown colored art right now.
Reason being that my PC is currently kaput, and thus I can't do any digital art even if I wanted to.

Secondly, BECAUSE my pc is kaput, my scanner is currently useless.
Apparently Hewlett-Packard doesn't provide mac drivers for the particular model scanner I own. (shakes fist at Hewlett-Packard) :shakefish:

So anything I draw and post will be photographed using my spiffy Motorolla Razr. (because I do not own an actual camera)

So please keep in mind, if you request anything from me as I am right now, what you will get is a poor quality photograph of a sketch.

As of late, on Saturday mornings, I've been tuning my tv to our local CW station to catch an hour of the Ninja Turtles cartoon.
Now I didn't like this cartoon when it first came out, because it was so VERY VERY different from the cartoon I grew up with.
But then I discovered that this current cartoon actually followed the darker tone of the original comic (which came before ANY of the cartoons and was in Black & White), to which I was like "There was a COMIC?!" O_O
So I checked it out and read the first issue online, and I was like "Holy CRAP, that's dark... How the hell did the 80s cartoon end up as it did?!"
So I gave the newer cartoon another shot, and now it's actually grown on me. (though I wish they'd show the episodes in some sort of chronological order, even if they ARE reruns. ><

This week, to commemorate the Turtles' 25th anniversary (yes, the franchise is that old) the CW made a movie called "Turtles Forever".
I first saw the commercial for this last week, and it got me really excited. Like GEEKY excited. You wanna know why? I'll tell you why.
The turtles of the current cartoon get to team up with the turtles from the 80s AND the turtles from the original comic to defeat the Shredder and stop him from destroying all the other universes.

And as you all probably know (and if you don't you haven't been paying attention) I'm an absolute SUCKER for crossovers. XD
So it was law that I get up on Saturday morning to catch this movie.

I just finished watching it this morning, and let me tell you, it was absolute HILARITY!!!

I about busted my gut several times seeing these goofy turtles that I grew up with driving the current turtles completely BONKERS with their cartoony antics.
Even the current version of Michelangelo couldn't stand it for very long. XD
Riding on the Turtle Blimp, he said to the 80s turtles "This is the lamest vehicle in the HISTORY of lame vehicles!"

At one part, the eight turtles were beating up on Hun and the Purple Dragons, and somewhere in there Hun says something and 80s Raph turns to the "camera" and says a witty reply (which he had done twice before in this movie).
Hun then picks up Raph and yells "WHY DO YOU KEEP DOING THAT?! WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO?!? THERE'S NO ONE HERE?!?!!!" and then tosses him into a wall. XD

And the Shredder..... Oh dear GOD, the Shredder. I never realized how WHINEY the 80s Shredder was until I saw him next to the current Shredder, who takes no BS from nobody, not even his other-verse counterpart or his supposed minions (Bebop, Rocksteady, and his ROBOTIC foot soldiers) or Krang (LOL Krang, what a joke). XD
And for those of you who follow the newer cartoon and haven't seen the movie, I won't spoil which incarnation of Shredder is the one they use in the movie.

*after-laugh sigh* It was radical, dudes! Cowabunga! XD

And then when they went into the Black and White world of the original comic, now THAT was interesting.
The city was all desolate. No people anywhere. O_O
And when they were fighting, Comic Leo was narrating everything they did, just like in the comic. lol XD
They even used some of the original lines from the first issue.

And the MAJOR contrast in the personalities of the three teams of Turtles was just incredible.
In comparison to the current cartoon's Turtles, the 80s Turtles are thrice as goofy as Mikey (even Raph), and the Comic turtles are thrice as stiff as Raph (even Mikey!).
But at the same time, they were all the same four turtles. Donny was still Donny, Leo was still Leo, Raph was still Raph, and Mikey was still Mikey.

I just discovered these two music groups on YouTube and they're both amazing.
Both bands do covers of video game/anime songs.

The first one it called The Red Wings, and they mostly do rock covers.

They don't have a lot up right now, but what they do have up is very pleasing to hear. ^_^
They only to video game music.

The second group I just discovered today, and they're called The Spoony Bards (yes, like the "spoony bard" line from FF4). [link]

Though they do have their own channel, most of their music can be found on other channels via video from their many many performances.
Such as this one. I'm not sure if this person's actually part of the band or what, but this channel has a LOT of Spoony Bard videos. Much of my playlist comes from this channel as well as the actual Spoony Bards channel.

They've covered SO many songs from both video games and anime, it's simply amazing. It's sad they don't have any of their works available for download.

They don't even have any actual mp3 quality music readily available to listen to aside from the very few they have up on their MySpace, so making a playlist of their various videos is the closest thing to it. XD

Somebody went and uploaded the entire Gargoyles series on YouTube. (Yes, even the *UGH-gag* Goliath Chronicles *pukes*, though this person has it labeled as Season 3, even though it's a separate series altogether and NOT a season)

If you haven't heard of this game yet, I'm telling you about it now.
This game is SO addictive. I'm practically glued to my DS now.
Basically you help the little dude solve problems by giving him the tools required to complete it.
You can literally give him anything you can think of.

If he needs to reach something up on a cliff, you can type in "pegasus" and a pegasus will appear on the screen and you can give it to him so he can fly up and get it.
Or you can type in "helicopter" and he can use the helicopter to fly up there.
Or you can give him a trampoline to jump up there with.
Or a rocketpack. Or a pterodactyl. Or wings.

Or if there are a lot of dangerous critters between you and your goal, you can put a kraken of a trex or a cthulu to kill everything so our little hero can go get it.

If you like puzzle games, then you'll love Scribblenauts.
That's about all I'm gonna say about it.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I gotta go blow up the wall so I can get on my pterodactyl and fly past the bear and lasso the boulder out of the way.

I just went and saw Ponyo last Saturday. Once again, Mr. Hayao Miyazaki has graced us with another sample of his genius storytelling.
I don't like the commercials they show for it on TV, cuz they don't really do the movie any justice.
It didn't top Howl's Moving Castle as my favorite Studio Ghibli film, but I did like it a lot.
Thus far there hasn't been a single Ghibli film I didn't like, especially the ones directed by Miyazaki.
This man's attention to detail is astounding. Even the most minute details that nobody would never even think of, he made sure to get animated.
And also he has little to no dependence on computers for his brilliant work.
He even had the honor of making the first movie to ever win an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film, which would be Spirited Away.
Also a very very cute one.

That was one of two movie I got the chance to watch in theaters. The other of course being Ponyo.

If you've never had the pleasure of watching any of his movies, you are sadly deprived and need to go watch one right now.
Even if you're not a fan of anime, I'd recommend watching his movies. (My mom is a fine example of a person who isn't into anime but loves the work of Mr. Miyazaki.)
Out of bias, I'd recommend starting with Kiki's Delivery Service, because that was the first Miyazaki movie I ever watched. (And also this one is still my mom's favorite.)
Porco Rosso is also a very good one, and also My Neighbor Totoro, but my favorite by far is Howl's Moving Castle.
I know there are many more that I'm missing that were done by Miyazaki, but I can't think of them at the moment.

Edit: I thought of some more you need to watch.
- NausicÃ of the Valley of the Wind (Patrick Stewart is in that one. =3)
- Princess Mononoke (This one is kind of violent, but still a very nice story)

Of course, since we're talking about Studio Ghibli, there are also the movies directed by Mr. Isao Takahata.
I've not seen a great many of his films, but the ones I have seen I liked. (such as Whispers of the Heart, The Cat Returns, and Pom Poko)
It's not that I don't think Takahata makes good movies. His animation style is equally nice to look at, and the stories are also excellent.
I just think Miyazaki is a much better storyteller.

Oo, also. I had learned (during the time when my obsession with Lupin the Third was at its peak) that before founding Studio Ghibli, that Mr. Miyazaki was one of the head animators for the Lupin the Third series, and even directed one of the movies before retiring completely from the Lupin franchise. (This movie was Castle of Cagliostro)
Awesome movie. One of my favorites of the Lupin series. ^_^

Also, Miyazaki animated a few episodes of an old anime series called Sherlock Hound. (pretty much Sherlock Holmes with dog people

)
Very cute anime. Highly recommended. Go watch it on YouTube right now, only twenty-something episodes long. ^_^
Even the episodes he didn't animate, you can see his influence in. It just has that level of quality.
For being as old as it was (I believe this was made in the 80s, but I could be wrong) the animation in every episode was superb. Worthy of a feature film.

But now I'm just rambling, so I think I'll stop now.
I think you get the idea.

I'm a huge fan of Hayao Miyazaki, and if I ever had the chance to meet him, I think I'd die.
Partly because I know he doesn't speak English, and I don't speak Japanese. XD

Okay, Y'all remember that 5-second commercial I mentioned a while back? (in this journal entry [link])
Remember how it was driving me nuts that there was no indicator as to what it was about?
Well, I found out what it was. They finally revealed what the big mystery was.

All this mystique and "Ooh, dramatic suspense" crap was all foooooor...... (drum roll)

Fox35's brand spanking new WEATHER RADAR!!!!

.........LOL WTF?! XD

All that for an upgrade to their weather department? LOL!

It's not even finished yet. They're still building the darn thing.

They should change their station ID from WOFL to ROFL!

It's just hilarious. Ok, so it's kind of a big deal cuz it's at the top of meteorological technology.
They even went as far as to say it's more powerful than the radars from two other stations combined. (WESH2 and one other one, I don't remember which)
Anyway, suspense is over. And boy what a let down.
I was expecting it to be some kind of new awesome prime time show or some sci-fi made-for-tv movie or something, but no. It's the new radar!

Dubbed "The Guardian". lol

I removed one of the stories from my fanfiction library.
Don't worry, it's not Gold Demona (either version) or Fraggle From Outer Space.

It was my PokÃ©mon fic that got the boot.
Why? Because it was incomplete, only a prologue and the first chapter posted on there.
And since it's posting, there have been changes to Katana's team and as well as the stories of how she got them, which changed what was supposed to happen in that first chapter.
The only part that didn't change was how she got her first, a Vulpix she named Foxfire.

But anyway, I have no intention of ever editing or writing further into this fic, and as a result, I didn't want to keep this obsolete version of the story.
So there you go. It wasn't even that great a fic anyway.

Sims 3..... For those of you who don't already know, this is my first ever Sims game.
I've played Sim City before, but it's not the same thing.
Same company with the same goofy sense of humor, but definitely not the same game.

I'm totally hooked on this thing, making Sims left and right of everybody I know.
So far I've made myself, my husband, Vaala (the real life one, not the character), my mom, my little sister, and Sean Connery (because I promised my mom I'd have her married to Sean Connery

).

I still need to make Vaala's boyfriend, his roomy, and my in-laws.
I also intend to make an attempt to make my fanfic characters into Sims. Let's see how well that goes.

I even have a house set up for them on the beach of Sunset Valley that looks like an apartment building. XD

I actually started playing the game with the sims of me and my hubby, and let me tell you, it's addicting.
My husband in real life seems to think he'll never see me again.

lol, Anyway, I'm off to finish the rest of my morning routine before going back into the Sims.

In other news....

Yay! I got KotOR II to work!!!
All I had to do was downgrade the video driver to the beta version of the driver I had. =3
And now it doesn't crash!!! I'm so happy!

I would like to express a huge thank you to everyone who helped me out here in my time of frustration.
All your awesome suggestions help make this possible.
I'd be totally lost and unknowing of what to look for if not for you.

UPDATE!!!!
I've played with it a little, and I'm more or less satisfied with the result thus far.
Stay tuned for further tweaks and modifications.

I've decided that my journal needs to be updated.
In this modern age of CSS journal themes, I've found it would probably be MUCH easier to organize my journal crap if I used a CSS Theme.
Now, I don't know crap about the deeper workings of the code, so I couldn't possibly hope to ever make one of my own.
However, I do know enough about coding to be able to somewhat tweak the code I'm given to work with.
Of course, the base theme will always be credited to the original creators (credited at the bottom), but for the sake of personalization, I will be working to tweak and modify it, possibly changing some of the imagery so that it suits my personal needs.

For now, here is what I have. I will probably add more sections as I see fit, depending on whether or not I find the sections to be ethical.

In other news....

Well, I managed to play through KotOR I two more times (each for light and dark side), in spite of all the crashes.
I found that the trick is to save CONSTANTLY and just continue the game like normal every time it crashes.
Now that I've finally gotten through the first game for the umpteen millionth time (because yes, this game was that good) I decided to finally delve into the monstrosity that is Knights of the Old Republic II.
.......or at least I would be if my computer didn't decide that it hated KotOR II.
I thought it was annoying when KoOR I kept crashing, but at least I was able to play it.
With this game, I can't even get past the opening splash screen.
At the point when it's supposed to go to the start-up menu, it gives me a black screen and the wonderful "send error report while we close your program" message.
And none of the forums I went to was any help at all. I think my PC just hates me.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Although, I could probably just play it on my husband's PC, because it runs perfectly FINE on there.... Even though his computer is almost the same as mine!!!
......Makes no sense.
*sigh* Oh well.

This is driving me nuts.
I've been seeing this commercial lately that's like 4 seconds long, they show a space shot of the Earth off to the side and these big letters that say "It knows what will happen".
And then it does some static and the letters change to "Soon you will know", and then it statics again and the commercial ends.

Does anybody have any idea what that's all about? They show it ALL the time now and I have no idea what it means.

No number of words can ever express enough the kind of loathing I feel for this operating system.
PCs are the marvel of home technology (their hardware is MUCH superior to that found in Mac computers), but they are run on the absolute worst software known to man.

Oh how I wish I had a better alternative for my games to run on.

Is there a word in the English language stronger than "hate"? Whatever it is, I'm feeling that for Windows right now.
My Windows is newly reinstalled after completely formatting the computer. Clean slate. Everything should be working just like it did when I installed it the FIRST time.
But NO! It decides it wants to act all screwy. Even after I installed all the drivers I had for this computer using ALL the CDs that all my hardware came with.
And I'm not even gonna get INTO what a huge pain in the ASS it is to reinstall Windows. (not to mention a pain in the wallet, but that's a whole OTHER rant)

My internet works fine now, but now my games won't run right.
Everquest worked for a while, but now it won't even run the patcher.
I tried to play KotOR a couple days ago, but it won't stay up for more than 10 minutes before it crashes and completely closes. I can't get past the stupid Endar Spire tutorial part because it keeps crashing!
At this rate I'll never get to Taris!!! Let alone all the fun dialogue with Carth! UGH!
I even tried bumping all my settings WAY down so it looks horribly crappy but runs easier on the computer. NO HELP AT ALL! IT STILL F*ING CRASHED!!!

I tried updating all my drivers, but none of the websites will cooperate.
So far the only driver I've successfully updated is the one for my video card. (nVidia's website actually makes SENSE)
I tried to go into the Device Manager to update all the drivers individually, but all of them keep saying "Cannot install/update/connect blah blah blah...".
And then I tried to find a program that would be able to update all my drivers, but all the ones I found are only free for scanning your computer, but if you want it to actually DO something you have to pay $30 to the company that made it, and it'll update all the drivers.

I know it's not a virus because:

1) I haven't done anything that a virus would come in from.
2) I installed Avira Antivirus and had that scan everything to make sure that wasn't it.

But no. That's not it. Aaarrrrrrggghhhh!!!!
Why can't things just WORK?! Why can't problems just be FIXABLE?!

Please stop sucking, and try to make something that doesn't suck.

I think the universe is out to make sure I'm not happy.

I just got my mac back from the Apple store (after having to take it over there twice for repairs).
Everything's working properly and hunky dory.
Except now my PC decided it wants to keep giving me the blue screen of death ten minutes after booting in!
WTF?! This is Windows X-f*ing-P!!! XP doesn't get the blue screen of death!
I thought Windows had evolved PAST the blue screen of death! WTF?!
It's really annoying! And when it does decide to stay on for more than ten minutes, I can't get Everquest to work!
Edit: I've discovered that it's not just Everquest, but also all my other online games as well as all of my browsers. The only internet-related programs that work are my two Instant Messengers (AIM and MSN).

This only adds to my extreme hatred for Windows. Â¬_Â¬
If the slightest little thing goes wrong, the whole thing goes kaput, and there's nothing you can do to fix it except format the thing and start over. ><
PCs are great, but Windows sucks ass. I hate Windows. Windows needs to die. Did I mention how much I hate Windows? Oh yeah, and it sucks too.
I wish there was SOME alternative that DOESN'T require having mad computer programming skills! (and, more importantly, will run my games!)
If I could run my games on my mac, I wouldn't need my PC at all, but then I'd still have to deal with the mac's hardware issues.

Arrrrg! Stupid computers. ><

And on top of all that, I've hit a writer's block.
I hate writer's block. I haven't had a real block in a very long time, and now I'm totally blocked. ><
Grrrrrr! I'm not happy, Bob. Not happy.

In this channel there are interviews with some of TV's most legendary people.
Including Alan Alda (Hawkeye from M*A*S*H), William Shatner (Cpt. Kirk from Star Trek), Sonia Monzano (Maria from Sesame Street), and many many MANY more.

I just have one word for you: Mabinogi

For the past few days, I've been submerged in the world of a game called Mabinogi.
Now this is different from most of the other fun things I've been absorbed into.
How is it different, you ask?
It's entertaining enough, that I actually got my husband to start playing it with me.
And he NEVER joins me in any of the goofy little fun things I do.
Yes, for the past few days, he and I have been dungeon crawling in Mabinogi.

It's a really fun game with a LOT one can do, and it doesn't even have all its features available in the U.S. yet.
There are lots of quests to do, lots of different kinds of crafts, and best of all, no one is restricted by class.
If you want to be a caster, you just learn some magic and off you go. Level it up some to raise up the necessary stats, and you're set.
If you want to just do melee, you can do that too.
It you want to do BOTH, there's nothing to stop you from doing so.
You can even use your craft tools as weapons if you want. (though it's not really recommended, since you need them for crafts)
And another cool thing is leveling up your craft skills adds to your stats as well.
So you can level up your music playing skills or your blacksmithing and get some neat stats.

The pet system is really interesting in this game, too. Your pet is basically a separate character that you can make and pick on the character select screen.
You can play the game AS your pet, and then when you play your human character, you can summon it to fight alongside you.

Your characters can also age, which is a pretty interesting feature. My character is 18 while my hubby is 17.
There's a whole other system involving age, but I don't really fell like explaining that right now. XD

In fact, I think I'll just close this topic by saying it's a really fun game, and I recommend it to anyone who likes playing MMORPGs but doesn't want to pay the monthly fees that the more popular ones cost.

Until further notice, I'm not gonna be able to do any colored artwork.
I installed my old art programs on my new PC so I could finally try and finish these projects that have layed incomplete for the last couple of months.
But then I actually open the files and find that my monitor absolutely refuses to display the colors the way they're supposed to appear.
It's one of those new fandangled digital critters that make vieo games look freaking awesome.
Which it does. All my video games look freaking awesome.
I just can't do any art on it because Gold Demona looks all pale and sickly.
And no matter how much I adjust the settings on my monitor, I just can't get it to look right.
And when I finally do get it to a point where Gold Demona is the correct shade of yellow, everything ELSE looks like SHIT. WTF?!!?!
So yeah. I can't do art on my PC. Not without using all the wrong colors.

What kills me is that my Mac (which is only a few months old) displays all these colors perfectly.
So if I ever want to color my art again, it will have to be on my mac, but due to some stupid financial situation we're currently trudging through we can't afford to purchase the wonderful Adobe programs that will allow me to do that.

SO yeah, any art I post from here (until (God permitting) I can finally get art going on my Mac) will all be sketches and/or photographs.

Actually I've been back for a few days now (since Sunday morning, in fact).
I've just been too lazy to write about it. XD
That and Final Fantasy XI's sort of taken over my free time since I've been back. XD

Anyway, North Carolina was awesome.
A lot of farmland, though. Not nearly as much as Indiana, but there are lots of farms.
We were visiting the historical city of New Bern.
It was really cool. I learned a good bit of history while I was there.
I learned that New Bern was the original capital of North Carolina before they made Raleigh the capital.
And I also learned that New Bern is also the place where Pepsi was invented.
I even got to visit the actual location where the inventor dude (don't remember his name for the life of me and I'm too lazy to go look it up) had his drug store before he invented Pepsi.
Now the place is a Pepsi gift shop place called The Birthplace of Pepsi-Cola.
I got me a pin, a hat, and a can cozy, which is actually really funny because I'm a Coke drinker. XD
*drinks from her can of coke that's sitting in her Pepsi cozy*

Anyway, we were staying at a timeshare that was right by a marina right on the Neuse River(spelling?).
We took a cruise tour on a neato little sloop.
It was really interesting watching the captain manage the sails and stuff. The winds were kinda strong, so the boat was REALLY slanted for most of the way. XD
But it was lots of fun.
We also took advantage of a lot of the activities that they had in this timeshare community, mostly stuff involving the pool.
We'd go to the water aerobics class and then go straight to the jacuzzi right afterwards. XD
Lots of fun.

The timeshare we were staying in was REALLY nice.
I was majorly impressed by the architecture of the place. ^_^
I even made a little video tour of it.
I'll post it up on YouTube when my mom gets around to giving it to me. (since it was HER camera )

I'll also post up pictures on my MySpace and Photobucket when I get the chance.
So you can stay tuned for those when I post them.

Yeah, I needed something like that. ^_^
A week far away from everything.
It was a really nice trip, and we came home just in time. Right on the last day I was feeling really homesick, particularly on the trip home.
The trip TO there wasn't nearly so bad. We had lots of music and snacks, and I had a gameboy and book of crosswords to keep me occupied. ^_^
The trip home was grueling though, especially since my gameboy had died only a few days before hand and I'd forgotten my charger.

Oh well. I got some drawing done while I was there, too.
So as soon as I get some art programs installed on my new PC (and as soon as I stop playing FFXI, lol) I'll finish my incomplete projects and get started on these new ones. XD

Yesh, well. That's about all I gotta say for now.
I'll see y'alls when/if I get some stuff posted. XD
.........But first I'm gonna get back to playing Final Fantasy XI.

UPDATE!!!
I finished the cheat sheet! So anyone who's read my fic can look up any reference they haven't been able to figure out.

I'm taking a vacation from my perpetual vacation.
My mom, sister, and I were invited on a resort vacation by my mom's friend's mom, so we're all gonna cram into my mom's minivan and road trip up to North Carolina. ^_^

Since I live in Florida, that's going to be a hell of a drive.
But that's okay, because I love road trips. Because I actually know how to enjoy them. There's a reason for the existence of the saying "Getting there is half the fun." Because it IS!

Anyway, once we get there, we'll be gone for a little more than a week.
So for a whole week, I won't be around to answer anybody's comments.
I leave the morning of the fifth, and I return on the fourteenth.
This'll be the longest I've gone without a computer for a long time. We'll see what happens.

I don't even know what we'll be doing up there. I just know we'll be staying there for more than a week.

In other news:
I'm working on a cheat sheet for my Gold Demona fic, listing every single reference I've put into it.
That includes borrowed characters, names of places, songs I've had characters sing, and etc.

So for anyone who's read my fic who'd like to know all the references they didn't point out right away, That'll probably be up in some way shape or form before I leave.
So far I'm halfway through rereading the fic and I already have two whole pages of references in Microsoft Word.
Oh boy.
I never realized just how long this list was until I actually started putting it down in Word. I really put a LOOOOOOOT of references in there.
And there might even have been some I missed, cuz I'm really mostly skimming through the fic to find the references.
Anyway, yeah. a list. It'll be up soon.
If it's not up by the end of the week, I'll probably finish it up and post it after I come back from my vacation.

In OTHER OTHER news: (update)
One of my anime music videos has been removed from YouTube.
Somebody in some Japanese lettering claimed my video as copyright infringement and had it removed.
To be specific, it was my Lupin the 3rd video, "Lupin the Lover Boy".
That sucks, because that's one of my two best videos.
Now the only place to watch it is either on my MySpace or to download it from my animemusicvideos.org page.
Oh well. I didn't like YouTube's system of doing things anyway. Whenever I post a video on YouTube, they always rape the timing between the video and the music.
I'm not going to post it again because I wish not to incur the wrath of YouTube and get myself banned.
So yeah...... Bye bye Lupin.

...so I'm going to post a journal with a bunch of random thoughts and rants.

The first of which being that I've just added a shitload of stamps to my shoutboard.

Boredom is unhealthy. It makes people do stupid things...... like collect stupid little stamps on their shoutboard.

I should be writing my book right now, but I'm trudging through the nasty swamp known as "the beginnings of the story".
Since this baby isn't a fanfiction and is actually a completely original piece of my own creation, I find myself stuck on the smallest little details.
I can't wait until I get to the actual meat of my story. Then maybe my muse will start hitting me with her 2x4's of inspiration again, and my story will start pouring out.
It wasn't nearly this hard with my fanfiction because I already KNEW all the stupid little details I needed because I was an obsessed nerd for all the fandoms I wrote on. XP
Still am actually.
I'm just not writing fanfiction anymore.

Since right now my art has been put on hiatus due to lack of PC, much of my time has been spent (or rather, wasted) playing a goofy little kids MMO called Toontown Online.
This game is evil. It's a frickin KIDS game. Simple as heck. And yet so addictive. What the crap?
My husband gives me strange looks when I get mad over a mini game not going the way I like.
And to make matters worse, I actually PAY for my account on Toontown.
I'm not complaining, mind you. I like playing Toontown. I'm just criticizing myself.

I also started playing Pirates of the Caribbean Online, but I've decided that I'm not going to take on any more paid accounts for any more games. And Disney can't seem to make a free MMO that's completely FREE. All their MMO games have this thing where you can play the game for free, but you can only get so many features and such if you stay on the free account. If you want to get ALL the bells and whistles of the game, you have to pay twelve bucks a month for it.

I hate Disney. As a company, they just drive me nuts. They just make SO many business decisions that make me go, "WTF!?"
Don't get me wrong. I like Disney movies. Up until they stopped doing 2D animation, I've liked all their movies.
That was the first decision they made that made me not like them anymore. Getting rid of hand-made 2D animation in favor of 3D computer graphics.
So far all of the 3D movies made by Disney have been completely unintersting.
Chicken Little? yech. Meet the Robinsons? What the crap?

Now before you start replying with "Well, what about Cars and Wall-E, and all THOSE?", let me just say that I'm not including Pixar Studios in my rant on Disney.
Pixar kicks ass. I love ALL their movies from Toy Story to Wall-E. And I also love all their shorts.
All of their movies are original with their own original stories, worlds, characters and concepts.
And they're actually INTERESTING. The stories have depth to them, and you can really connect with the characters.
And also John Lasseter (Whom I believe is the guy who RUNS Pixar Studios) is the man in charge of dubbing Studio Ghibli films.

That's another animation company I love. Studio Ghibli, where the genius of Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata is molded into brilliant movies.
Now, mostly I'm just a Miyazaki fan. Currently my favorites are Howl's Moving Castle and Porco Rosso.
But Takahata has pulled out some good movies of his own as well. I personally like The Cat Returns and Pompoko.
Studio Ghibli is so good, it's one of the few anime styles my mom can actually recognize. Her favorite Ghibli movie is Kiki's Delivery Service. ^_^

Holy crap on a sandwich!
My pageview count is closing in on 10k, and I have NO way to celebrate it! D=
I currently have no PC, so I can't do any art, or even a cheesy MS Paint kiriban pic.
I'm stuck with my no-art-programs mac!
So unless my new PC is finished before my hit count reaches 10k, I'm screwed! DX

I'm amazed my count even got THAT high.
I've never exactly been very well-known. =/
I'm not nearly as good as most of the more popular artists in my category, so I can definitely see why it took me this long to get even up to 10k. XD

But anyway, I'm sort of lost as to what I'm gonna do here.
Cuz really, 10k is a REALLY great number.
At least for me it is anyway, cuz I'm an unpopular dork.

I'm glad at least that I've never had the pleasure of participating in the drama of a flame war.
I hate drama. I try to avoid it at all costs.
So in that aspect, I'm glad I'm not one of the more popular artists on DeviantArt.

So really, it's a sort of balance act between the coveting the love and attention of more than just a small handful and the relief of never having to suffer a retarded teenage drama.

I suppose the best I can do as far as celebrating 10,000 views on my page is to write about how wonderful it is that 10,000 people found my work interesting enough to come in and look at it, whether they commented on anything or not.
Whether they faved anything or not.
Whether they added me to their watch or not. (Although that's always a rare treat to see in my inbox. )

And I hope that I'll eventually get 10,000 more.

Wee! And no I will not be posting it on DA. Two reasons:

1) DeviantArt is a huge pain in the ass to post stories on. (Why else do you think I don't bother posting my fanfiction on here?)
2) I don't want anybody stealing my ideas.

So yeah, unless I postpone this story again by starting ANOTHER fanfiction (and I pray that my muse won't be THAT cruel to me, I was originally going to start this after finishing Gold Demona), you won't be seeing any more written works from me until I publish this sucker.

I found this on 's journal, and thought I'd give it a whirl.

1. Pick six of your personal characters (originals, fan characters, persona's, etc...).
2. Number them one through six.
3. Answer the following questions with each character's personality in mind.

1. What would happen if one and two ever met while shopping?

They'd say hi, catch up on old times. Gold would wonder what the hell that is Mac bought.
And then Mac would go into a long and complicated explanation as to what it is and what it will be used for with all this scientific mumbo jumbo that will confuse Gold horribly, especially through Mac's thick Scottish accent.

2. How long could two and three stand being around one another?

Probably as long as one and two, considering three is kind of the same character as one.

3. Have three and five ever dated? Would they ever consider dating?

Nope, they're straight.

4. Could four and six be friends if they ever met?

Probably not. Allen's too much a goodie goodie to consider being friends with an evil bastard like the Prime Ruler.

5. If five and one were in a story

Katana would think Gold was a pokemon and probably try to catch her.

6. Sharing ice cream sundaes and chatting, what would the conversation be like between two, four, and six?

(Allen) Wassap?
(Mac) Aye.
(Prime Ruler) Greetings.
(Mac) What in the bloody hell is HE doing here?
(Allen) I invited him.
(Prime Ruler) And who are you?
(Mac) He looks like my dead husband.
(Allen) Well, I kind of am, but I'm a different version from a different fanfic.
(Prime Ruler) You make no sense, boy.
(Mac) More sense than you, Mr. Trying-To-Take-Over-The-World-One-Generation-At-A-Time.
(Prime Ruler) That plan would've been perfect if it weren't for you meddling gargoyles!
(Mac) Aye, I've heard that one before.

7. Six and five move in together, how would they get along?

They'd get along pretty well.
Katana might be disappointed by Allen not having any pokemon.
And Allen would probably get along with all her pokemon, too.

8. One and four meet up with three and five. Soon, they are arguing and fighting, who wins?

lol, it'd be just about impossible just getting one and four (Gold Demona and Prime Ruler) together without one trying to kill four.
Anyway, if they got into a fight with three and five (Goldie Fraggle and Katana), Gold would probably join up with them and kick the Prime Ruler's ass.
Though that in turn would also kick Gold's ass because of that happy bond they have. =/

9. The television is on and four and five are fighting over the remote, who would win?

Katana would win because she'd pull out her Machamp and have him pick up the puny little fraggle and hold her away from the remote.

10. If three saw one kissing six, what would they think?

She would think "Um...... ok? Why am I here again?"

11. Two comes along a bridge, whistling while he/she walks, what are they whistling?

12. While walking along the before-mentioned bridge, two spots five talking to three. Does two continue walking or do they stop to talk to five and three?

Mac would stop and stare at Goldie, first wondering what sort of creature she is, and then wondering why she looks so much like Gold Demona.
Then she'd ask Katana where she acquired such a strange-looking creature, to which Goldie would start yelling that "I'm a fraggle, dammit!"

13. What are five and three talking about on that bridge?

(Katana) So...... You're not a pokemon?

14. Driving through the city streets, four turns to three and tells them their personal, darkest secret, how does three react?

For future reference, I just want everyone to know that if ever I post a screenshot of my desktop, I don't want anybody to fave it!

Particularly my mac desktop!

I'm going to be changing it from time to time, so it's not always going to be a picture you like.
And it will more often than not be artwork which may or may not be mine!
I can't stand getting faves for art I did not do.
I wish I could disable faves for such pictures, but since I can't this is the best I can do.

Not only did I manage to rewrite everything I lost in the current chapter of my Fraggle fic.
BUT I also managed to write PAST the point I was at when my harddrive went kaput.
Not only THAT, but I ALSO managed to FINISH that chapter and finish one MORE.
So now you get TWO chapters for the price of ONE.
Isn't that SWELL?!

...how to recover lost information from an external harddrive?

I am crying right now.
The power blinked once for no reason, and my external harddrive (which contains all my art and writings) is nonfunctional.
My mac can't read it and my pc says it needs formatted.
And if I format it, I am sure to lose everything, so I have no idea what to do.
Can anybody help me here?

I am hating my so-called "surge protector" right now, because it was supposed to prevent this shit from happening.

Update 6-18-08: Well, I'm not feeling quite so depressed anymore, but I'm sorely disappointed.
The case seems to be hopeless, as I've tried several methods to try and recover my files from this broken harddrive to no significant success.
Thanks to those who've tried to help me.
But I guess I'll just have to accept that I've lost all of it and move on.

Which means starting over on the next chapter of my fraggle fic, which I had mostly done when this happened.
Oy......
