since my inbox is almost 9,342 msgs.
i have to clean it manually coz there are important mails with my username and pass in them so i have to keep my mail tidy.

as i was browsing the mail i started from this year upto 2005.

every time i read a mail that has a significant event in that day it all comes back to me. hitting me hard, very hard. then there are mails that made me pick options. where in some i made good decisions and bad ones.

the cleaning took me back to my good old days at school. projects, assignments, templates, request, attached files that didn't meet the deadline, forwarded mails that i didn't read, spam, scam mails, pass mails that curses you. that sort of stuff.

it was fun to take a peek back since they are already past tense.

after cleaning i am stuck at 2,532 msgs, and i am currently stuck at the year 2005 accrdg. to the dates of my mails.

going back to this day..
im currently looking for a summer job. finding one is hard but you have to swim in that flood of ads.

my mind is too stuffed with tutorials..

its been awhile.

i'll be helping this guy to purchase his 1st DSLR cam.
because of his budget constraints he decided to purchase a Nikon D40 or a D40X depends again on his money that he would be bringing that day.

And yes we will be @ Hidalgo by then canvasing from Henrys, Mayers, 24K, JT etc-etc.

has been comparing Nikon and Canon for the past few months. Since the Canon 400D costs around 33K @ Hidalgo. it may take a long time to buy it. while the Nikon D40 is @ 22K (grey unit or with CDSC) and D40X is @ 28K (grey only ata) so he opted for Nikon with its wallet friendly price and ease of use.

As for me i'll just be there as a guide. LOL

some thoughts to ponder on..



all city - to go all out, to put up your tags around the city/town

bite - to copy another writer's style. considered as plagiarism.

blockbuster - huge block letters that takes up alot of space. mostly used to cover up other tags and throw-ups

bomb - painting or marking with ink. to cover an area with tags or throwups

bombing - to go out writing graffiti

blackbook - mostly contains scratch work, flicks of works, other writer's tags. looks like well yeah a black book.. duh...

burner - a simple peice that burns whatever else its on the wall. only has few colors compared to a throw up

crew/cru - a group of writers

crack fill - throw up that is intentionally hasnt been filled to reveal what is underneath

ETOE - a train painted from one end to the other (end to end)

fill in - a throw up w/ filled in center

getting up - getting your name up. also the action of going out tagging.

going over - crossing out someone else's work w/ your own. the idea is to do something better in order to burn the other person off the wall. this also means war. if you get caught crossing out a peice by the writer prepare to loose some teeth in the process.

hero - a bystander who contacted police of "writing" activity around the area.

king - highest compliment you can receive in graffiti

legals - legal works or permission works

planner/s - another term for street artist/s.

rack - to steal. example = rack some paint, to steal some paint.

stencil - a pre-made pattern. used with the application of paint + stencil + wall/surface. reduces the painting time and worry time.

sticker - the preferred medium by planners and writers alike.

tag - a writer's signature

throw up - your tag in big (bubble) letters.

toy - an inexperienced writer. counterpart of n00b, novice.

up - a writer who is active and has a noticeable amount of work around town

writer - someone who does graffiti

Isabel College. dahil nagloloko ang aking kamera or deadz na ata invite ko na lng kau. the Open Public Shed openned early in the morning (march 21, 2007) up until... i don't know (until they buff it out) admission is free. feel free to roam around. or wait for a jeep it is "OPEN" so anything goes...

anyway.

the "Open Public Corridor" in my area was not so lucky. i started in the wee hours of morning, almost got caught by the security guard. then after 10 hours they buffed it of... too bad i have no proof of it. but it is the same design as the Open Public Shed theme. hmm so sad. but its ok. i'll be back with a vengance.

anyway.

its indeed a successful event big ups for the organizers and the people who endured the heat, dust, pain.

HELP HELP HELP

im currently planning a community project to teach art to streetkids
think of it as an extension of the food not bombs activities some people are doing
and the filmshowing project that's supposed to go along with it.

setting up/renting a projector and a screen is still the hard part because renting costs a lot of money, and such expensive equipment must be handled carefully.
i already have found some people who would like to contribute to the film showing, so that's covered, plus i have some stuff of my own that i'd like to show.

now, feeding these kids and showing films is one way of helping and educating them
but i want to take it one step further...
watching shows and being fed is a one way street. puros receiving lang ginagawa.
i want to have them do something to stimulate their creativity aside from playing.
i want something that they could do to positively interact with their surroundings.

education without action means nothing, ika nga sa kanta ng ignite.

hence im trying to come up with an art workshop
it would be awesome if anyone out there could donate

those are the things i need.
yung pinaka maliit na box lang ng crayons and maliit na box ng chalk
kasi i plan to have the kids take these individual boxes home.

the paper will be used for the workshop, and they can bring some home
but the point of choosing chalk and crayons is because paper is not always something they have
and i want them to take whatever creatity they have and unleash it/express it on the streets.

think of it as sort of a streetart project,
where streetkids, or just about any other kid could take back the streets and have fun.
i remember drawing in walls and streets when i was young.
so in order to foster creativity, i hope this would provide an outlet for release.
chalk and crayons are not permanent, and can be easily cleaned.
but that's the way life is, impermanent.
and i would like to teach them that everytime someone erases what they dowould serve as motivation to start anew.

there is a place in cubao behind an old cinema which a part has been converted into a future independent community space/punk library, which will serve as a venue.
there is ample space where during the activity, we can feed them vegetarian food
and if resources allow, probably some film showings too.

i also need some help with on the approach i should take with the teaching process
any inputs with the best way to go about it would be highly appreciated.
people who would like to help out witht he taching are verymuch welcome.

anyway.. im just starting with single layer stens for now, but once i cut this obey star stencil it has 2 layers. Layer 1: the big star then, Layer 2: the small star with the giant. moving on.. the creator Shepard Fairey says its all about PHENOMENOLOGY, a person may see the sticker/poster as nuisance or an art. it really depends on the person's view. as he quoted, "The Medium is the Message". What I like about this site is the wheatpasties he created. very kewl.

Am planing to wheatpaste, since last time that i created the wheatmixture it turned out so-so... and edible yummm, all i have to do now is to find a printing shop. or an OHP to trace out my pattern. but thats in the future plans of mine. for now ill try to improve more on my stencils. The area here is sprawling with blank walls. well for some there are gang graffiti here there.. still our area is in the Golden Ages of Graffiti which is Gang Graffiti.

anyway.. the Pilipinas Street Plan sten is finished and cut. the G-man is OK, then the OBEY.. hmm only the OBEY hehehe still the star needs to be cut. then the STCKR-RVLTN stencil is being cut.
wait what is the STCKR-RVLTN?? since im part of stickerwar and stencilrevolution i thought of combining the two.. since im spraying stencils on sticker... no harm done. for now haha.

well inde nman pero since lam nyang ginagawa ko ren un eh di ako nagmadaling tumakbo at tingnan ung sticker.. isang lang masasabi ko saludo ako sayo!!! ang tapang mo pare. Ang kulit nung sticker may 4 figures na nandun (3 boys and 1 girl) then a caption says "Airport Drama" sa ilalim. simple pero astig pare!!

well recently.. or last monday i was drafted by the committee of families within our barangay to be the Head Committee... of what you say?!?!?... For this one time event only i will be in charge of our barangay's pyrotechnic show held at the end of december... well its a great idea.. for me its another burden because there are only three of us organizing the said event.. only three person-tag along group that arranges and make the event successful...

its the chairman's idea to lessen firework accidents that occur during the year.. well as i can see it there is no dumb person in this barangay that would man handle an explosive then light it up.. well not at the moment.. so its up to us.. YEHEY!... boooo!

but its gonna be a fun event tonight coz we are testing some fireworks we bought earlier in the afternoon.. hehehe time to terrorize the neighborhood.. err i mean lighten up hahahaha!!

from a sticker site they sey that acrylic or clear enamel would do the trick.... to make it waterproof i guess i forgot that one... and been experimenting with gloss and matte sticker paper... for budget matte is good but if you post it ex. outdoors it has small life expentancy but with an acrylic / enamel coat it can last for a long-long time, so sometimes i post them indoors ex. waiting sheds phonebooths, public utility bus etc.-etc.... while the gloss sticker paper is doing a-ok but its a bit expensive.....hope i can have an attack later in the evenin to show case new designs..

been busy lately as you can see in the gallery.. by tom i'll be printing new sets of designs... and then attack at public areas... well why stickers.. hmmm the tools are there it just needs creativity and thingking... try to forsee what the passerby would think after a glimpse of the sticker would it give any reactions to him/her... well yeah.. yeah,, blah... blah.. but im motivated by MutatioNation and his crew of sticker soldiers.. their works are great!

EXPERIMENTAL MANGA WORKSHOPS AT THE MARIKINA SHOE EXPO


The Japan Foundation, Manila, in cooperation with the Future Prospects Art Space and the Artists Den, presents "Experimental Manga at the Expo", a series of manga drawing workshops at the Future Prospects Art Space, Marikina Shoe Expo, Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City on November 18 & 25, December 2 & 9 2006 and January 13 & 20, 2007, from 2-5 pm.

Topics to be covered are: 1) Illustrating Emotions Through Facial Features by Elmer Damaso (Nov 25) ; 2) Exploring and Expressing the Darker Emotions by Marius Cornelius Funtilar (Dec 2); 3) Alternative Media in Emotional Drawing by Nelz Yumul (Dec 9); 4) Women, Emotions and Drawing by Joanah Tinio (Jan 13); and 5) Techniques in Expressing Emotions with Drawings by Melvin Calingo (Jan 20). Lyndon Gregorio will facilitate the initial workshop on November 18. The culminating activity will be an exhibition of the works by the participants on January 28, 2007 at the Future Prospects Art Space.

Workshops are free but participants are required to bring their own drawing materials (sketchpad/ paper, colored pens and pencils and, other coloring materials). Only fifteen slots are available per session, thus, interested workshop participants are encouraged to call and register their attendance on or before Friday, November 17. halloween is fast approaching again and then all saints... well there is only one destination i would go at that time and that would be the nearby cemetery.. and again as the previous trips we have to sleep there for a couple of days.. this is one time for me for feeling dead for a day.. but its nice to have some company..

but before i go i have to upload the ones i have sent to TEM ill just put them in the scraps for awhile..

its finals week again have to focus on studying or else i might say goodbye haha

well anyway before i study tommorow i've been in anime marathon lately.. watching.... many titles: ParaKiss, Ichigo 100%, Karin, Ouran Host Club, Full Metal Panic 3rd season..

whew... got to rest my eyes for today and tom. is back to study-study-study haha

anyway been thingking on joining the engineering's own journal/newpaper for their upcoming release.. they want artworks, photographs and compositions.. well i'll be joinin the photographs.. and the only manipulation you could do is crop, hue, contrast, brightness, filters... hmmm and only 5 photographs... per person.. been in deep thought as to what subject that i would take.. but as i could see it maybe its good to take on the 5 photographs but i'll have to take other themes for it.. as i could see.. 1 shot would be outside the university.. while the other 4 would be inside the univerity.. dividing the 4 shots.., 2 shots would be focusing on some "human" side while the other 2 would maybe focused on engineering as being 100 years... i hope this works and i'm not good at pleasing people but i try.. heck and i'll do it in my finals week even... ughhhh... not again.. but hey i want to leave something for my university if ever i might not be taking another step again.. well that would be the worst case scenario..

well getting the emo off have to go and sleep and prepare what would be a very hard task to accomplish.. or maybe not hehehe

after seeing all that furious and harsh wind that blew throughout the day it left a mark in my mind.. nature is still dangerous.

well its still cram week but hey it doesn't restrict us to have some fun right?? well anyway been a lot of emotions lately and its forming a tropical storm in my heart... well im an emotional person at times..

hmmm moving on i finished reading Ichigo 100% in the scanlations that my friend gave me even though the ending is a bit well shallow the creator did its best to finish the story and the lives of its characters.. i have to say after reading the manga it left a void in my heart... it also is the reason why im all emo and after realizing past things i got teary-eyed and want to cry... for a moment... *sniff* well life is very fast as they say... and were in the middle of it all..

*sigh-sigh* have to ease my heart for a bit

to start things off tom would be our 1st field trip for our Natural Science Course yey! and we are heading to Wawa, Lemery Batangas! Wohoooo near the oil-spill cause where doing coastal clean up this time.

i really dont know why we are there but i believe its for us to be useful citizens to help in our own whim to help mother nature...

anyway, the whole class would be going there too... ooooo sounds interesting... together with the chem and other IT sections...

tom as i see it i would hit to birds with one stone... seriously.. cause i've been thinking of traveling and taking my camera to take pictures... since my works sometimes focuses on urbanism and people i wish i could apply what i have learned in the seminar last time and shoot nature, people, the very essence of life in a frame... *kinda* the seminar last time was attended by a marketing director from Canon Phil. and boy it was so much fun and new.. they also showcased their cameras and printers... with them are powerful EOS-350D, EOS-1 *which takes many shots per sec*, and another EOS type which is sleak rather than robust like the past model i've mentioned so far.

whew... long talk.. have to catch breath..

after this its back to cramming week again... *sigh* and it will be bloody very bloody!
