In other news, I've got some textures just sitting in iPhoto right now waiting to be uploaded, so sometime soon I will put those up as either Photoshop brushes or a stock pack, since they are all similar. Also, I haven't touched Apophysis in about a month or two, but I'm going to launch it again soon so I can continue working of some fractals.

I can't even begin to describe how happy I am. One of my fractal stocks got a Daily Deviation. My face has been red for a half hour, I'm so gobsmacked.

Whew. Is there anything I can really say to that? You want something like that so much and then one day it just happens. I logged in and saw I had 800 messages, and was like, "Whoa. Something's up."

So... that's just fabulous. Just... wow. Thank you so much to everyone who favorited my piece and left comments - I think I answered all of you back in one way or another, as I try to do. I really appreciate it

Anyway, like I promised, I have some new stocks for you - some clouds and some mountains. The majority of the mountain pictures were taken along Alaska Hwy, or somewhere in Canada. Enjoy!

These include rust stock images, chains, leaf imprints, and a lot of mountains and sunsets. Look forward to that! Also, for brushes, I've got a few ideas and am also going to make some old ideas come alive... hopefully I will start churning out some new brush sets sometime in December, when I have access to Photoshop 6.

… for the creative use of color, brushes, and photomanipulation to convey a theme. One glance is not enough for this piece; take a second look and you’ll notice things that you didn’t before. “The Butterfly Effect” by *octobre-rouge is a very sophisticated and professional looking piece that belongs in the pages of a magazine.

SECOND PLACE: Walking in the Limelight by =Initio

… for the beautiful retouching and interesting colors. “Walking in the Limelight” by =Initio is a beautiful piece that uses what would otherwise be an unusual, pukey green as the skin color that just makes her face glow. The makeup, also, is very well done; as everyone knows, adding eyelashes is a tedious process, but these don’t even look photoshoped. I forsee a career in photo touch-ups.

THIRD PLACE: Submerged by ~Artistic-One

… for the creative idea and nicely done execution. I looked at this piece and said, “How did this person even DO the water? I wish I could do water like that!” The makeup and hue of the face matches well with the water and the idea, and the best possible image was chosen for this piece. “Submerged” by ~Artistic-One conveys so many ideas about emotions and depth – it is a piece laden with meaning.
