Hello everyone... as some of you might have noticed, I was super late on getting back to everyone about stock usage. I'm going to try not to let my messages build up like that again

In other news, I've got some textures just sitting in iPhoto right now waiting to be uploaded, so sometime soon I will put those up as either Photoshop brushes or a stock pack, since they are all similar. Also, I haven't touched Apophysis in about a month or two, but I'm going to launch it again soon so I can continue working of some fractals.

Amber

I know I haven't put any stock images up in a while, but I'm going to be attending the Academy of Art University in San Francisco starting September 3rd, so I will have better access to Photoshop and a wide array of cameras (so not having batteries for my camera is no longer an excuse )

Among other things, I will have lace stock, more rust textures, and some new brush sets.
Oh. My. God.

I can't even begin to describe how happy I am. One of my fractal stocks got a Daily Deviation. My face has been red for a half hour, I'm so gobsmacked.

Whew. Is there anything I can really say to that? You want something like that so much and then one day it just happens. I logged in and saw I had 800 messages, and was like, "Whoa. Something's up."

So... that's just fabulous. Just... wow. Thank you so much to everyone who favorited my piece and left comments - I think I answered all of you back in one way or another, as I try to do. I really appreciate it

Anyway, like I promised, I have some new stocks for you - some clouds and some mountains. The majority of the mountain pictures were taken along Alaska Hwy, or somewhere in Canada. One glance is not enough for this piece; take a second look and you’ll notice things that you didn’t before. “The Butterfly Effect” by *octobre-rouge is a very sophisticated and professional looking piece that belongs in the pages of a magazine.

Other works by the artist:

[link]
[link]
[link]

SECOND PLACE: Walking in the Limelight by =Initio

[link] by

… for the beautiful retouching and interesting colors. “Walking in the Limelight” by =Initio is a beautiful piece that uses what would otherwise be an unusual, pukey green as the skin color that just makes her face glow. The makeup, also, is very well done; as everyone knows, adding eyelashes is a tedious process, but these don’t even look photoshoped. I forsee a career in photo touch-ups.

Other works by the artist:

[link]
[link]
[link]

THIRD PLACE: Submerged by ~Artistic-One

[link] by

… for the creative idea and nicely done execution. I looked at this piece and said, “How did this person even DO the water? I wish I could do water like that!” The makeup and hue of the face matches well with the water and the idea, and the best possible image was chosen for this piece. “Submerged” by ~Artistic-One conveys so many ideas about emotions and depth – it is a piece laden with meaning.

Other works by this artist:

[link]
[link]
[link]

Thank you to everyone that entered. The choices were all excellent, and chosing among them was difficult – but we have decided. Remember that creativity was the main thing we were looking for.

Contest Rules:
1) Must use a stock photo from rosinangelstock's gallery (but can use other stock photos as well)
2) Must follow dA's submission rules and give proper stock credit when due
3) Limit five entries per deviant
4) Creativity is your stongest selling point here!
5) This is mainly a photomanipulation contest, but digital overpaintings and even traditional art is welcome
6) Send your entry by note to either me or with the title "Contest Submission" and a link to the deviation.
7) Please make sure you state on the actual deviation that it is entered into this contest - it helps with promotion
