I have re-uploaded all the dual desktop wallpapers. The download links for them all work now.

Well it's only been 8 months since my last journal entry... And not much has happened. Still hate my job... But then again, who doesn't? Still exploring when I can and working on renders when I can. Mapping here and there and playing AQ2 on a semi-regular basis. Life isn't bad. Quite good, actually.

Went to OPEX last week. It was awsome. Got to see some hardcore Red Swingline Stappler action! Ok, seriously, it's not about office products... It's a giant UE meet. That is, urban exploration.

I must admit, I love UE'n. The thrill of sneaking into places I shouldn't be, seeing things that most people won't, exploring the long abandoned halls, rooms, catwalks, and tunnels of buildings and structures, the industrial graveyards of various industries... It's just fun. And some of the sights are quite beautiful too.

So I went to OPEX last week. Saw some awsome places. The Montreal Malt Plant, Geo-Reed building, Dow/O'Keef Brewery, Montreal in general, and lots of other good stuff. Had fun meeting all the people and exploring with them. My favorite of all was probably the old Welland Tunnels. Gave me the impression of 28 Days Later. An abandoned car tunnel flooded with water and without electricity. It was quite the sight to see.

Well that's my short and cryptic journal entry for now... Pictures from OPEX will be going up slowly. I've already added one yesterday. Hope you enjoy it! =]

I hate having to think of subjects so I've just decided not to put one anymore. And it's really quite embarrasing how long it took me to figure out where the thingy to add a new journal entry was. I woudl have though clicking the big journal button at the bottom of the title thingy would have let me. Apparently not... Ohh well.

So yea another year with little to no activity on my page. Figured I might as well wish the 4 people and the random traffic visiting my page a merry christmas. =] So, merry christmas! And have a happy new year!

As for new stuff? Well I've got 4-5 things that I'm working on right now. Expect some new stuff soon. I actually have time to play! I love christmas break...

Well it's been over a year since I've really done anything. Ohh well!

Did a few new renders of existing landscapes. They're optimized for for dual monitors at 2048x1536. So each image is 4096x1536. I'll probably zip or rar them up or something and upload them with a thumbnail at about 1/4 the size. So enjoy them!

Other than that, I have a job again. And I like this job! Hopefully they'll keep me around for a while. =]

Well, all the friends are heading back to school now... The fun of Christmas Vacation is over. But it was one to remember! Hope everyone had a merry Christmas and a happy new year. I know I did. =]

As for school... Not looking forward to it. Think I'm stuck in a program that I know I'll get tired of if I go into it professionally. I want to switch, but my university doesn't have what I need. Guess it's time to start looking around and hope that I can transfer!

And in other news, I've given up on 3D Studios MAX. Lightwave is much better... Hopefully I'll be able to force myself to learn it good enough to start character design and possibly even animation. Now THAT'S fun.

Well I guess that's it...

Well it's been over a month since I've posted anything. No real reason for it... Just haven't done anything. Haven't even played with Vue at all.

But I decided to play around with it the other day. Little did I know that I'd end up with 2-3 seperate scenes... heh. Empty marsh was a failed attempt at creating something along the lines of The Misty Marsh. Was going for the watery canals of a marsh land but it didn't work right. So I deleated all but what's there and got that. It looked good, so I kept it.

The Misty Marsh was better. Still not great, but better. I was hoping to add a rolling fog or mist just above the water but coudln't get it to look right. So much for that... It turned out alright in the end though.

Other than that, nothing really new. I've been playing with 3D Studios MAX a bit. Aiming to get into Character design. That will most likely end in disaster with something that doesn't resemble any organic form... Heh...

What a weekend...

So I took my first road trip this weekend. 7 hours of non-stop driving on a 2-lane highway full of pot holes, cracks, ruts, bumps, construction, and people who can't manage to keep up with the speed limmit. This is managable... Good 'oll passing lanes!

BUT! What really gets me... Stupid little hick towns that post NO direction signs to other highways what-so-ever and have construction with dead-end detours. WTF?

So I only got lost twice... Yipee! 7 hours to get from Sudbury to Kingston, it it was worth it. The changes are so massive it's hard to believe. Temperature, people, driving style, number of prisons, and general atitude.

Here in Sudbury, you're stupid to drive a bicycle on the road. It's certain death for most. However, people in Kingston actually obey the law and ride on the street! And they don't fear cars at all! And best of all, people don't drive like assholes all the time! It's great. Everyone is so cautious and polite to pedestrians and cyclists...

And did I mention speed limmits? There are 2 groups of drivers in Kingston. People who do the speed limmit, and people who do 20 UNDER the speed limmit. I'm scared to do anything above! Maybe it's just because you can see a cop from anywhere you are in the city, or maybe because you pass everyone while already doing the speed limmit? Not sure on that one yet... Either way, it's hard to follow the speed limmit. But here in Sudbury, it's considered to be driving slow if you're doing anything below 20 OVER the limmit. Takes some getting use to. =]

As for the temperature... I leave Sudbury. It's cold outside. The van is hot because it's parked in the sun. So I turn on the air conditioner to cool it off. I get out in Kingston and nearly die of heat stroak! Had to stay in the van for 15 min or so to get use to the heat. =]

Well, this has been another rant by me... It's had nothing to do with art... =]

But I figured I should wright it down somewhere so I don't forget... So, enjoy! =]

Ok well I figure I'll have to do one of these sooner or later... So why not now?

First of all, I'd like to say that with the exception of 2 pieces here, everything was created and rendered from within Vue d'Esprit 4. Acrtic Valley was done in Bryce 5, and Ice Droplet was a photo I took with my digital camera. =]

Other than that, not much to say. Just little random things and annoyances in life.

Ohh yea, everything on my page so far is old stuff. Stuck on dial-up at the moment so I can't upload much at a time.

One piece I was working on today was lost for good. =[ Vue d'Esprit decided to "lock up" on me and didn't recover. And for some strange reason, no backup file was created. What a surprise...

Ohh well, shit happens.

That's it for me. I'm out. =]
