My co-worker/good buddy Stephanie came with me to Horsetooth Reservoir in Fort Collins last night, with lightpainting and creative photos on our mind. By the time we reached the bottom of the cliff (it was almost 9:00pm and pitch black) our spotlight was nearly out of battery, so after a couple lightpainted portraits, we set the camera up for shooting star streaks and the like. Hope you enjoy, I hope to get another chance to get out and go lightpainting again soon, and this time we'll be better prepared!

So I'm awake because I was supposed to go photograph some kids watching the lunar eclipse at 3:00 in the morning at Horsetooth Reservoir. So here I was, awake, dressed, cameras ready, when they come to tell me...... trip's cancelled. Why? It's overcast.

Anyways, I just posted a few shots from CSU football, my first chance to shoot sports with Canon's new EOS-1D Mark III camera, paired with an equally phenomenal 300mm f/2.8L IS lens. More to come as far as photojournalism stuff, but I felt compelled to add a few football shots for no other reason than I have them here.

So I've been at Colorado State University for a whole three weeks now, and I've already shot some stuff I think are at least worth considering including in my portfolio. Not bad, ehh? It took me months to get anything worth sticking into a portfolio at UNC. Thus far I think transferring to CSU has been one of the smartest moves I've ever made, as far as career goes. Soooo much more competition, but likewise, it makes me that much better a photographer. And by much more competition, I do mean I was passed over for one of the two credentials they have for the CU-CSU football game (aka. the Rocky Mountain Showdown), even though I may still be shooting fans from the stands. Photo essay, anyone? Anyways, I'm off to bed. I have a hard time thinking during an 8:00 math class on a full night's rest, and I'm only getting maybe 1/3 night's rest now, so without further ado...... Peace!

So as many of you have noticed, I've been covering the Colorado Eagles hockey team all season, and as of Wednesday, the season is finally over. It cumulated in a 4-3 victory and the hoisting of the Ray Miron President's Cup and the emerging of a new CHL Champ.

It has been a pleasure to intern for the 2006-2007 CHL Champions, and look forward to doing it again next season. What a great team, with classy players, and a great coach. I'll be adding photos here soon of the Championship game.

Have a great summer, everyone ^^
