Well, first off, I haven't been updating recently, so here's a little background on the oncoming story. I met this guy (James) on the internet. I met him in mid July and we email each other at least once a week (it's all we can squeeze in due to school and everything). We started getting along really well and I grew really fond of him, but I wasn't sure if he felt the same way.

James is 21 and he's an English major at CSU Stanislaus. He's also a drummer in a band called "Jolly Kryger." Well, his band was going to have their first public show at a coffee house called The Queen Bean. Admission was free (yeah right, you had to make a purchase from the coffee house before you could walk over to the stage area.), so I decided to suck up my nervousness and tell him that I would be there. For moral support, and per Dad's request, I invited a couple of friends to join me on my trip to Modesto. My friends Elysia and Lizzy were glad to come (though I never told Elysia the time, and I never told Lizzy why, haha).

Some of you may know that I tend to get lost very easily. We were already running late, and we missed an exit (my fault! and the lady who wouldn't let me merge's fault). I texted James saying that it was very likely that we would be late, it was 7:20pm or so and his show was supposed to start at 7:30pm. He texted back saying that they had an opener so Jolly Kryger would be playing at 8:00pm instead! I was excited because I wasn't going to miss his show (we were already almost done with the directions on the Mapquest map). Well, we make it and we see a sign saying that a purchase must be made before you enter. We were like "ok, but does it have to be coffee?" So we got in line in the coffee shop and I texted James that we were inside. He came in shortly after to greet us and to see if he could get us in for free. He walked up to the security guard and said that we were family (specifically, I was his "sister" and Lizzy and Elysia were his "cousins" haha). But to no avail (nice try, though, James!). We just bought a couple water bottles, an orange juice, and a cookie.

The opener was alright, but Jolly Kryger was amazing! They began by playing a couple of audio clips from The Dark Knight with the Joker saying something like "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. We are tonight's entertainment!" I think, I can't really remember what it said. James was disappointed that people were talking throughout the whole intro, but they all did great! After the show, he came over and his shirt was drenched in sweat. Which makes sense, he was really into the songs. He gave me the play list

After the show, he suggested that we go to dinner or something. So we waited for him to finish loading his drums into his car and pull around so we could follow him to Denny's. He dropped us off at the parking lot and we waited for him to take his drums back home and change. It was about 11pm when he finally showed up again, haha. We got a booth and Lizzy and Elysia sat on one side while James and I sat on the other. We had a little dinner and stayed there talking til nearly 2am! I was disappointed that we had to leave. Anyway, James sat on one end of the bench and I was at the other at the beginning (there was a sizable gap between us), and by the time we decided to leave, we were leg-to-leg and elbow-to-elbow, haha. I hadn't moved at all, so either he scooted over on purpose or it was a result of his fidgeting. Considering that he most likely noticed that he was so close and didn't do anything about it, I think it was on purpose, hehe. I felt bad that he paid for everyone's food, though. Oh well. That's just guys for you, haha.

On the way home (well, we missed another exit, haha) Lizzy and Elysia told me that he looked like he was really into me. I guess I failed to notice that for the most part, haha (except the sitting so close part). I was so excited that I couldn't fall asleep (we got home... ]]> *gure-okami GAH http://gure-okami.deviantart.com/journal/26676839/ http://gure-okami.deviantart.com/journal/26676839/ Tue, 18 Aug 2009 17:27:01 PDT so, yeah, my aunt died this morning. she had part of her intestine removed around midnight and something (gastric stuff) ended up killing her (I think. also a combo of a terrible lifestyle and double pneumonia). so...if anything, don't pray for me, but pray for my mom and her family. I didn't really know her all that well (like most of my mom's family), so the only way that this upsets me is because it upsets my mom. and apparently my other aunt and one of my uncles completely broke down (after all, their dad died in late may). so, yeah, just pray for my mom and her family.

ok. school. SO STRESSFUL. and it's only my second day. PE seems really easy, and I have a friend and a fun teacher in speech. so those classes aren't so bad (yet). today I had geology (I'm kinda iffy about my teacher) and japanese. japanese seems easy enough, but I have to drive like FOREVER to commute to the campus. and then I need to walk to the back of said campus (which is FREAKIN' HUGE) and then up some stairs. my legs feel like jello D: TOO MUCH WALKING TODAY HAHA. wow, it doesn't sound so stressful when I say that my classes seem fairly easy. but it really is stressful.

I got a new phone~ a purple lg lotus~ and she has internet~ (yes, a "she." her name is vivi, and she's a bitch C: )

it turns out that schwarzenegger signed some thing that changes community college enrollment fees from the usual $20 per credit to $26 per credit. and even though I've already paid my enrollment fees for this upcoming semester, they're gonna add charges that I have to pay. that's about $72. and I still need to purchase the rest of my books. I feel like they don't want people to get a decent education in this recession. I mean, not everyone has a job...and I need to sacrifice full-time work for college. that makes it even harder to get a job, because my schedule isn't very flexible at all for work. AUGH. I'm pretty stressed out now.

dude, I've killed literally over 20 flies in a 10 minute period today. for some reason our house has been overrun with flies and we have no idea why. last night I walked into the bathroom and saw about 10 flies. needless to say, I was very uncomfortable with it and I killed them all. they were all huge flies, too! it was really disgusting. hopefully they are dying off by themselves, too.

ok, so I guess I am all alone after all. my sister went to spend the night at a friend's house...WOO peace and quiet! BOO I'm probably gonna end up watching scary movies and get freaked out for the rest of the night D:

but the main reason I wanted to update was about a guy from my church. he passed out in the shower and was in there for hours until his wife got home. she couldn't revive him, but the ambulance she called was able to. the doctors have no idea what's wrong with him. he's a great guy, and not very old at all. it would be nice to pray for the family or keep them in your thoughts...

on another note, I'm apparently going to see the midnight showing of the new harry potter movie. I haven't even seen all of the last one (let alone finish the 5th book, haha), so I'm gonna have to watch the 5th movie before then.

ALSO I have jury duty :C they're still in the "pick the jury" stage, and I still have to go back next tuesday. it sucks. I hate going to oakland.

so if you didn't read my last journal, let me get you up to date. ~Jinx-Yomisota visited me last week, and she flew home today. we went to japantown in san francisco the day she arrived, on monday we hung around town (and went to trader joe's omg, haha), tuesday we went back to san fran to the art institute to look around, wednesday we went to calaveras big trees state park (and made fun of the redwoods), thursday we went to the monterey bay aquarium (and hung around cannery row and went beach combing during high tide, haha), friday we went to yosemite (and saw three bears), and finally, saturday we went to the desert (not the traditional kind with the sand and cacti). it was pretty fun

I freakin' talked so much I'm kinda hoarse, haha.

so, I don't know if you have heard yet, but ~Jinx-Yomisota is like, totally visiting me for a week. starting on sunday C: WOOT I GET TO GO TO SAN FRAN TWICE THAT WEEK haha. WAIT. THREE TIMES. XD my car is gonna hate me, but deal with it syd! (syd= my car's name, pronounced like "cid")

and yes, jinx, I'll be able to pull myself away from sims 3 long enough to pick you up from the airport XD I mean, I'd rather go to japan town with friends than play a computer game XD

uhm...I don't know if I mentioned this in the last journal concerning the emu and my grandpa's funeral, but that funeral was my first open casket funeral. I had no idea until I saw a guy in a coffin (whose face didn't look sunken in enough like the last time I saw my grandpa the year before). I saw him over my mom's shoulder, and I awkwardly pointed at him and asked "uhm...who is that...?" I was so uncomfortable around the casket. maybe I've watched/played too much zombie stuff, haha. or maybe it's just the instinctual fear of seeing a dead body of your species that made me anxious...I dunno X3 either way, I had a little fun at the luncheon afterwards. I saw my cousin kiale (pronounced "kyle") and we talked about his joker costume that he wore for halloween (it was FREAKIN' AMAZING btw. he looked almost EXACTLY LIKE heath ledger's joker). it was pretty fun...

but yeah, I should go clean my room now.

on a lighter note...we had a lightning storm yesterday

we haven't had one for YEARS. I was so excited, though it lasted for less than an hour. I didn't really see the lightning itself, only the flashes out of the corner of my eye. but it was directly above our house and the floor shook. it was great XD

on an even lighter note...I got the sims 3

can't say I'm too pleased, however. I don't think our graphic card can really stand it (though it meets the minimum requirements, and exceeds it by a bit). so I'm probably gonna end up getting a new graphic card and see if it works then...or maybe I'll just wait 'til we get a new comp this summer.

omg jinx only one and a half more weeks. it might not be very hot this summer, so bring some warmer clothes. but just in case, bring some cooler clothes, too...I'll update you later on the weather.

so how are you guys? (jinx, did you schedule a tour at the institute yet?)

EDIT: more amusing than important...on the way to my grandpa's funeral, we passed by a field (well, practically all areas next to a california highway are fields) and there was an EMU. IN. THE. FIELD. not an ostrich, I know those far too well (after living next to an ostrich farm for a couple of years, you would think I would know them like the back of my hand). it was definitely an emu. someone was raising an emu. I was so freakin' excited.

last fall I read a little book called "Skellig" by David Almond. I enjoyed it a lot

I was also very excited when I heard that there was going to be a movie coming out based on the book. I watched it last night

it was GREAT. tim roth did a terrific job at portraying the titular character. he had the perfect amount of cynicism and hopelessness. I recommend watching it :3

since my brother's gotten an xbox 360 for christmas, my whole gaming life has opened up to a variety of "kick-ass games" such as dead space (haven't progressed at all, haha), left 4 dead (we really need xbox live), and resident evil 5 (I'm so not used to the controls). on friday, I rented the prince of persia for the 360. my first ever try at the prince of persia series, and I'm addicted to it. it's due back tomorrow, and I only have to defeat the hunter one more time and then finish up at the temple before the game is over

then I will be sad :C but hey, I'll soon be occupied again. as far as I've heard, the sims 3 is coming out in june. I'm really excited for it

OH we got a baby rabbit a little over a week ago. he's a holland lop named gregory (his full name being "gregory jack house arp," haha. his nickname is house because he walks funny sometimes). he's white with grey speckles and blotches and he's absolutely ADORABLE.

I'm so excited

I only have 3 more finals and an essay before I'm done with this semester~ and one of those finals is open book C: I'm only really worried about my anthropology final tomorrow...I don't think I'm ready for it >_>;

- it all depends on my mood. as of right now, it's a tie between Jean and Lestat.

-officially? they're both free, but if the storyline that Jean is in was "real," then Jean would have a fan-pairing of sorts with Alice.

-Jean is a hunter of sorts. like, a vampire hunter. but he hunts pretty much anything (seeing as how he doesn't have a steady income, he's really flexible)
Lestat...I would hafta say he was some kind of guardian thing...I haven't really thought about it much...

-Jean's self-proclaimed archnemesis is Alek's dad, Dmitri.
Lestat doesn't have one.

-let's see...I don't really develop them as much as I should, but I do create them. Nikolas is probably the baddest.

-HAHA NO. I'm terrible at writing stories. I just develop characters, throw some kinda background on them and let them mingle with other characters I think they're most suited for. my reality is much too boring to write about, anyway X3

pray for my cat kiki. she woke up meowing really weird. like, it was high pitched and kinda wavering. it reminded me of when our late whiskers died. so I freaked a bit. she's all right now, though. I'm not sure if she had a nightmare (can they even get those?!) or maybe she has some kinda condition that hurts her every now and then...she's already 12...what made me think it might be a nightmare was the fact that she was looking around desperately until she turned around and saw me. then she stopped and just stared for a bit (always with the staring!). and she was fine. again, I was not, haha

I'll just work off my calories by walking my dogs more often, and I'll take art next semester when I should have more money...

my sims 2 game kept crashing, so I took it off my comp. I was sad...all that hard work building up several families and friendships and whatnot all gone to waste...my main family just had a baby and then it crashed >:C now they're gone. and I'll most likely sell them so I can get sims 3 that comes out in feb. it alllll works out...

pray for my cousins. my cousin's (almost) 7 year old son is getting physically bullied on the bus to school, and the school isn't doing anything about it. it's not a major situation, but it would give their family peace of mind.

anyway, christmas has gone and left us for another year. how sad D: oh well, my birthday's comin' up (kinda...4 months...exactly 4 months, wow

). I'm totally buying a wii with my birthday money XD

I'm so glad I wasn't sick on christmas eve like I normally am. instead, I'm sick now D: good thing I don't have school or work for a bit...speaking of which, the gamestop I'm working at is thinking of downsizing...and seeing as this is my THIRD week without hours, I believe I should be looking for another job...sigh...job hunting sucks so bad. I have an application for the parks district...I'm gonna fill it out tomorrow (hopefully)...it would be fun, working in nature and all...

I don't have college again until the 20th. I can't wait until then. I'm taking a figure and composition class, and that seems like great fun~ I haven't had a traditional media art class since my first semester of my sophomore year (the end of 2005). I think it will help me improve my people drawing skills drastically...which is a great thing considering I draw people more than anything, and I don't believe I'm all that great at it...

sigh...I'm so lonely D: I'm a hopeless romantic, and it sucks that I have no one to be romantic with. huh. I think I say random things when I'm sick. oh well.

so I've been obsessed with birds lately. love 'em to death now...and that obsession led me to a wondiferous book called Skellig by David Almond. I loved it so much, I just wish it were longer D: it's about a boy named michael who moves into a new house. he's upset that his baby sister is dying and, despite his parents telling him not to go into the flimsy garage that might collapse at any given moment, he enters the garage. it's full of cobwebs, bluebottles (flies), spiders, and beetles along with furniture and loads of boxes. when he makes it to the back of the garage, he finds a man sitting against the wall. the man has apparently been there for a while, eating bugs and mice that wander near. he's covered in cobwebs and bugs. michael keeps coming back to visit "Mr. Nobody" (the man doesn't reveal his name to michael at this point), bringing "27 and 53" (items on a chinese takeout menu), aspirin, beer, and codliver oil (the man is suffering from arthritis from being still for too long) each time.
it's really a good book. it makes you think about different things...(like, school is for chumps XD )

uhm...I had my first day at work today :3 it was...painful D: the gamestop isn't open yet, so we were setting up, meaning: unload boxes, open boxes, hang shelves on wall, sort games into piles, alphabetize the games, put them up on the shelves, and PRAY that you have enough room for all of them. I really like my co-workers, though. they're great and funny :3 but my feet and legs hurt real bad D: like, I can barely walk, I'm not even kidding. like, if I were to try and walk to the livingroom right now, I would probably collapse D:

in celebration of me getting a job, I called up my good friend ~BM-Atticus to eat sushi with me. though...it was supposed to be yesterday...but she had to work late...SO WE HAD IT TODAY. and she brought her sister and friendssssss. jake and kim (kelly?). ANYWAY we had sushi, then went over to hollywood video (where ~BM-Atticus and jake work) where we brought out two decks of cards and started our wonderful time. we played a few games of mao, then scum (I was vice-scum. LOWER THAN SCUM), and finally BS (if you play neopets, you would recognize it under the name of Cheat). towards the end, kim (kelly?) had to leave...so we brought helen in after she got off work. then her boyfriend lucky joined in on the fun. it was great

but my butt and shoulders hurt from sitting on the floor.

my mom is addicted to twilight. she's almost done with the first book (staying up till at least after midnight to read it). I'm only on chapter 5 when edward asked bella to go to seattle with him. ah well.

OH I signed up for my next semester already. I'm taking art 3A (figure and composition I), anthropology 1, history 7 (u.s. history of some sort), english 4, and women's weight training. it all totals 14 units >_>

we finally started to get our winter rain here...california has a mediterranean climate type, meaning that our main source of water comes in winter. it's hot and dry the rest of the year...so I was really happy for the rain, though it came later this year than last year, but that's probably because of the lack of el nino this year.

anyway, for job updates...I applied to several places this weekend. lots of places are starting to hire for the holidays. I already got a call-back from best buy. I have an interview at 10am on friday. I'm so excited. I'm also going to apply at the regional park district as an "interpretive student aide I." basically, I would have to perform para-professional naturalist duties and perform programs such as: snake talks, puppet shows, mine tours (we don't have mines nearby, I would think...well, only coal mines), history talks, etc. I think it would be very interesting and great for practicing my public speaking. plus, it's something I think I would really enjoy- teaching youths about nature and whatnot.
let's see, I also applied at gamestop, target, any mountain, barnes and noble, and borders. I would've tried mervyns, but they just went out of business. 50-70% off for a lot of their stuff. I might go check it out.

ANYWAY. my cousin's and my grandpa's surgeries went well, they're all recovering great, too. AND my cousin's son just lost his first tooth~ he's growing up so fast *sniff*

uhm...I had my first exam in marine bio today. I admit, after seeing the possible questions on the test, I was a bit worried...but I think I did pretty well. I didn't answer one problem, though, but it was just 2 points...no big deal, right? it was something about negative control, and I can't remember what that is D: and I couldn't remember what the thing that sea stars use to move/breathe/eat was called...I KNOW HOW IT WORKS, I just can't remember the name for it. oh well.

I have a make-up exam for statistics at 3...I hope I'm ready for that. TIME TO STUDY! haha, no, I just need to write formulas and other important stuff on a piece of paper and I can use it on the exam.

I've been drawing a lot lately. I mean, not like serious pictures or anything, mostly doodles and designs...but I have a lot of them all over my notes and precious binder paper. I even have two sketchbooks that I'm using simultaneously. one for daytime drawings and one for bedtime drawings :3 I tend to draw right before I go to bed. just some last minute thoughts before I sleep and forget about them.

I applied for jobs at OSH and pet food express last week...please pray that I at least get a call back from one of them. I really can't stand that I can't even get a job at a friggin pet store, I mean, I WORKED AT A VET CLINIC. I KNOW ANIMALS. I KNOW ANIMAL PRODUCTS. come on, I'm more qualified for a pet store than most people D: and it sucks that there's really only like, 3 different pet stores in the area, and I applied at them all, and so far, I only got one call back. at the beginning of summer. job hunting sucks.

well, my cousin had her surgery to get her stint and polyp removed. she's doing fine now, though she says she feels like she was beat up.

but NOW is a life or death thing. my mom's dad has so many health problems. every couple of months, he gets his stomach pumped and they pump out something like...26 something (jars I think). but he also has diabetes and severe heart problems. next week, he gets a pace maker, but they're going to have problems getting the defribulator working because of his many cardiac problems. it's a very risky procedure...if he doesn't get it, he would die in the next couple of months...but if he does get it...he might die during the procedure, but he has a chance of living longer. my mom's really upset, even though he wasn't the best dad in the world. so it would be nice if you guys pray for him (his name's marvin, btw) and my mom's family.

on another lighter note, I'm applying at pet food express and osh. so...hopefully I get one of those jobs C:

my cousin is currently sheltered away in a hotel with her two kids- a 6 and 1 year old- while her husband, who is in the coast guard, is positioned in the hurricane. she, of course, lives in texas where the hurricane is hitting. she is fretting about everything. she said the military base is flooded, and that's where one of her cars are. her house is also currently flooded, and she's worried that they might not have anything left after the storm. and to top it all off, her 6 year old has started acting out in all the stress.

so...if anyone could pray for them, that would be very much appreciated.

well, as some of you might have known, I went to check out the university of humboldt with my friend this weekend. it was about a 6 hour drive...but the last half of the drive was gorgeous. it was all coastal redwood forest. the campus was amazing as well. my friend and I walked around the science building when we first arrived. we met up with ~akiu2028 and a couple of her friends at the library (by coincidence, haha). so yeah, aki gave us a tour around the campus and told us as much as she knew. THERE ARE SO MANY STAIRS AND HILLS haha. I shoulda worn better shoes with actual SUPPORT XD

I got back home today around 3:00. I was so glad to be out of the car. I was stiff from not stretching and whatever. all in all, I think I might definitely want to transfer there after I finish my GED...

normally, between psychology and marine biology, I have an hour to kill. doing homework usually fills the void, but I didn't have any today, so I munched on an apple. then out of nowhere, this guy comes up and sits next to me. we introduced ourselves and started chatting about school and tv and movies and whatnot. he used so many big words that I kinda zoned in and out of the conversation @_@ then he started talking about government and religion and philosophy. OF COURSE I don't keep up too much in politics, and I've never been good at talking about christianity (I can never describe what I want to say clearly) and philosophy just BLOWS MY MIND when I'm not prepared for it...so basically, he's an athiest anarchist who loves philosophy and engineering. talking to him INFURIATED me inside ('cause I never like to be rude that way). but as a reward for not being rude and holding my faith, never letting it waver, I didn't have lab today

the animals never arrived (we were just gonna draw them >_> for...three...hours.) and I think it might've been God's doing. WELL THAT'S WHAT I BELIEVE. IT MAKES ME FEEL GOOD.

so yeah, a whole hour of talking to him. my head hurts D:

so I have a four day weekend

I'm applying to pet food express tomorrow. I hope I get the job, I really need it...

it's been really hot the last couple of days. the whole summer has been cool and nice, but now it's like pushing 100

kiki hates yori still. and yori still sleeps in the pantry. I tried letting her sleep inside last night, but she started chasing a fly in my room around 1 am and it kept me awake so I stuck her back in the pantry. she sounds like a cricket XD

I finished professor layton and the curious village. it was greeeeaaaaat

the ferris wheel scene is pretty popular among fans, but I really liked the ending the best

especially when layton built that glider and was flying through the air with flora and being chased by don paolo (? I can't remember his name. don-something) so yeah, it was great. I loved it even more after I saw this little amv (spoiler warning, I guess): [link] I'm not sure if you can see it without signing in, but if you can, you can remove the comments over the video by clicking the little bird at the bottom with the speech bubble.

so yeah, college is going pretty well. I'm all caught up on homework and I don't have monday classes next week because of labor day, so I won't have homework from that XD psychology is really easy. we haven't really been doing anything. marine bio is probably the hardest...well, at least with all the work. statistics is pretty easy, it's the terms that get me, though. and english 1a is ok. it's pretty dull during lecture. good thing it's in the upper level of the gym. at least something will cure my boredom up there.

uhm...I think that's it...uhm...yeeeeaaaaah...

EDIT: dude...who else here watches the marvelous misadventures of flapjack on cartoon network? I just found out that thurop van orman, the creator, has his own account here on deviantart *thurop there are some early drawings of flapjack and k'nuckles in his gallery :3 also...if you want to be like, an animator or something...read his journals...they have some tips in them.

and my first day of college is my busiest >_< it started at 9:30 with psychology (ends at 10:45). then at 12:00, I had marine bio, PLUS the wednesday marine bio lab (so that's another 3 hours, making it end at 4:20), I came home real quick for a bite to eat, and finally, I had my statistics class at 5:30 (and that ended my day at 7:20). I am EXHAUSTED. then at 12-ish tomorrow, I have only one english class, and that's it

WOO.

psychology seems easy enough.
marine bio looks like it might be a little challenging...hm...
statistics looks easier than algebra 2 XD

I'm so glad yori tired herself out before I got home. I do NOT have the energy to chase her around the house, haha.

I've been seeing quite a bit of professor layton art, so I tried the game on a rom (the freaking save doesn't work D: I have to start over) and it is AMAZING. I love all the little puzzles, and the animation is great for it's simple style (though the emulator made it a bit choppy, so I have to check it out on youtube). I'm excited about it though. I really need a job so I can afford it, haha. remember everybody, EVERY PUZZLE HAS AN ANSWER!! (prof. layton ftw yo [luke is pretty cool, too. he's a freakin' fanboy XD ])

yori is so much like our late whiskers. even though kiki hates her, yori will jump on her and get the crap beaten out of her. and she'll still go back for more :0 I guess my sis calls her "lucy" (for lucifer D: ). well...yori has a bunch of nicknames...like: yoyo, yo's, lucy, kittan (sounds like kittan from gurren lagann, haha), crazy, psycho...the list goes on and on XD AND SHE MAKES A SUCKING SOUND IN HER SLEEP. it's so funny. her lips twitch and she makes that sound XD

I went to visit my relatives over the weekend. we came back today.

it was great

except for the fact that we had to stay at my grandma's 'cause my dad was afraid that my uncle would go crazy or something.

my grandma told me that there were kittens born under her house a couple months ago and that they live in her backyard. SO. I went to check and lo and behold, I saw two run off and one lay a few feet away watching me warily. until, of course, I approached it.

I told my cousin *shiroi-tategami about them and we got her boyfriend to help us catch them. we set up the most cliche trap ever. the ol' stick holding the box up with bait inside ([link]). we used a can of tuna as bait. after we set it up, we went to the courtyard on the other side of the garage. *shiroi-tategami went to check on the trap and she saw a black kitten sitting outside the trap (which was set off). the kitten bolted and she saw a gray kitten's face sticking out of the handle of the box. the gray one escaped, but she noticed another kitten in the box trying to get out. apparently *shiroi-tategami was calling to us for help when she grabbed the last kitten, but we didn't hear her. she remembered me telling her to scruff the kittens so they can't reach your arm. she came into the courtyard holding an orange and white kitten that was flailing frantically. her boyfriend grabbed the trap box and I grabbed the lid. we took the kitten back to my aunt's house and locked it in my cousin's old room (she moved out not too long ago). the kitten ran in circles around the room really fast, earning the name "Turbo". we found out that Turbo was a girl. we bought her cat food, cat litter, etc. she went to town on the soft food, up to the point where you could feel her round little stomach. she was terrified of us at first, but I think she's more ok now. we got her to purr within a couple of hours and the next day she was climbing all over my shoulders and hair while purring. it was so cuuuuute

we tried catching her siblings, but we couldn't catch them. also, we had to move Turbo to my cousin's apartment, where she hid under *shiroi-tategami's bed.

we went to the beach on monday. most of our group (my siblings and cousins) crossed where the ocean came inland a bit. the tide went up to my knees at first. we all went to the tidepools and came back. *shiroi-tategami and I went to the wet sand and built a sphinx while the tide rose. her brother was building a defense for our creation. afterwards, she and I went back to the tidepools, but the tide rose considerably. the water went up to where my legs started and they completely covered my cousin's lower half. so we walked around with wet legs most of the day.

EVERYONE GOT SOOOO SUNBURNED. and I was surprised at how pale my second cousin foy was. he's been in iraq for so long, but it's like he's never tanned. it's weird.

SUNBURNS HURT. GOOD GOD. I have a HUGE one on my lower back where my shirt rode up. and my left hand is swollen because of the burn on it. it sucks! D:

uhm...then we went to fresno to have lunch with my grandpa. *shiroi-tategami overslept and we couldn't get a hold of her, so she had to drive herself and she kept getting lost. we had to leave for home when she arrived. I felt bad D: though, cuz, mom said that that was a good experience for you! so at least one good thing came out of it

speaking of cats...*lone-momo's cat tigger has developed cancer. if he were human, the tumor would be larger than a man's fist. it has developed rapidly and will cost $1000 to remove, something that the family does not have. she and =budgie are holding a raffle, tickets are $5 (USD, of course) as a fundraiser. please check it out.

I also saw hellboy 2 on friday. it was great. I really enjoyed it. prince nuada had me torn between attraction and repulsion. sometimes he looked great, and other times he made me kinda sick. it was weird. and johan krauss was pretty cool, too, though his whole "by the book" attitude bugged me (and for those of you who watched the movie, did you recognize johan's voice as seth macfarlane from family guy and american dad?)

grawr. I'm frustrated now. I don't even feel like typing up everything that I typed up last night. TIME FOR BULLET POINTS.

1. bought a shirt today for a job interview at cosco. I waited in the employee break room for an HOUR AND A HALF until they finally got to me. another girl was there for an interview at 4:30, half an hour after mine, and she still got interviewed before me. D:<

2. I think I got sick. most families fight physically or verbally. my family has biological warfare. GET YER ENEMY SICK WITH YOUR GERMY GERMS!

3. I found a site full of giant microbe plushies. black death plushie ish so cute <3

4. firefox is great. internet explorer 7 keeps jacking up on me. so I'm now utilizing firefox more often.

5. I've come across 2 good anime series. utawarerumono and ghost hound.

6. it gets really hot after the 4th of july. it's been in the hundreds all week. so I've been swimming. but I haven't gotten burned yet

7. college text book prices suck big fatty ol' rocks. it cost about $472 for books, and I found a good graphing calculator at the low price of around $50 (compared to the $115 that the bookstore wanted for the same calculator)

8. so, continuing the job search: target, lowes, and home depot are on my list if I don't get the job at cosco.

9. I lost the game.

10. my first day of college is on august 14. but I start the classes on august 20. I'm excited.

so the next thing must be another reason why I haven't really been on. pokemon. yes. you read correctly. pokemon. I've gotten really addicted to it- not the anime, mind you. just the games...and the manga. I just bought my first volume from singapore (chuang yi comics also translates manga into english. they're pretty good from what I've seen). I bought volume 15, and I plan to buy up to 22. that's the whole ruby/sapphire arc. I mainly bought it for steven (the champion of the ruby/sapphire games). he is definitely my favorite. uhm. yeah.

enough of that...job hunting sucks. especially the one's with the psychological tests. so yeah, now I have to continue looking for jobs. which sucks.

I don't care much for being an adult. my siblings are all over me for whatever I decide to do. yes. I am sick, and I can eat ice cream if I want. and I can go to bed whenever I want. DEAL WITH IT. and stop whispering behind my back. it's rude. and it especially bothers me if I can HEAR EVERYTHING YOU'RE SAYING. geez.

ONTO GRADUATION. it was long. and hot. good thing I didn't have to wear the black robes, haha. I've never been happier to wear yellow XD anyway. for presents...I got money. lots and lots of money. more than $500. and a 2001 toyota corolla. my little syd...(there's a reason that I gave him that name >_>; ) OWNING A CAR SUCKS, TOO. I have to pay for gas. and I have to look for a job. which really sucks if I run out of money for gas. sigh.

I went to fanime 2008 in san jose over the weekend. it was AMAZING probably because I was only with ~BM-Atticus and another friend (who will be called kim). we stayed at a hotel across the street from the convention center. there were a lot of people there. and I only met nice people. it was great. we played apples to apples in the game room and we had a huge group. it was fun. I bought a sakabato (reverse-blade sword), a short sword (for my bro), a couple of figurines, a couple of pictures, a couple of cells (from jubei chan), a shirt from vg cats (the jenova's witness shirt. the artist was really nice, too bad he left kind of early), a couple of plushies, 3 mushishi dvds, and finally a new wallet.
we went to a "how to talk to girls" panel. it was great. we met a nice guy dressed as an umbrella scientist bitten by a zombie (from resident evil). he asked us if we wanted to have dinner with him and his friends, but we had already eaten dinner before the panel. kim and I saw him again on our way back to the hotel, and he complemented our shoes (a line that the panel speakers used as an example to strike up a conversation). we plan on going next year, maybe he will, too.
uhm...when ~BM-Atticus and I were away, we left kim near the forming hentai (porn) line playing her ds. when we came back, she ran over to us and said she was freaked out 'cause 2 guys from that line were hitting on her.
hm...that's all..NO. we were also in a minor minor fender bender. just a scratch and dent. nothing serious at all. everyone's ok. uhm...yeah. I might post photos of the event later...

I'm going to disneyland tomorrow! for my senior trip. none of my friends are going, though, which makes me look more like a loner than I already am. depressing.

and finally...the manga serialization of mushishi is ending in a couple of chapters. I seriously almost cried. I LOVE that series so much. I have every volume and every episode out so far. it doesn't get enough love...and there's only 46-48 chapters out...it's much to early to stop! D:

and most importantly, I'm all signed up for college and everything. I just need to pay my fees. I'm just going to a community college in town, then I'm gonna transfer somewhere...probably the art institute in sf if they'll let me...that would be great.

I went on a field trip today. it was pretty fun. the scenery was great. I wish I had a camera. my legs hurt pretty bad, though...and I feel like passing out right now XD (the good kind >_> )

I just got a call from my friend from middle school. I haven't talked to her in a couple of years. she grew up in a bad family and either she makes horrible choices or she's a pathological liar looking for attention and sympathy. honestly, no offense, I think she's the latter. I feel bad for her. I mean, I feel REALLY bad for her...if she IS telling the truth, then I hope God would use someone to help her out, make her feel loved again...however, if she's lying, then I hope she would realize that she shouldn't lie to me, that I'll always accept her as a friend and she can't possibly make me feel worse for her.

I went on a field trip yesterday. we hiked uphill for over two hours. it was awful D: now my hips hurt instead of my muscles. weird. anyway, we saw tons of lizards, I warned the class about a baby rattlesnake hiding about a foot away, and we saw four golden eagles. one adolescent and three adults. we also saw various other birds and a mule deer.

...who else saw that irish comedian on comedy central last night? tommy tiernan? haha yeah, he was funny.
