Christmas shopping this weekend!
So future shop is idiotic...

Bought a present for someone. The box said this thing was RED and had a very bright red swatch on it. We asked the associate "is it this read or this red?" pointing to 2 images in the flyer. one was bright red, one was a gross fuchsia... the clerk says "OH its this one" pointing to the bright red one. thats good, so we go home and open it up to double check that its all good and nothing missing... Its pink.. its ugly pink.. fuchsia. Not even close to red.. so we exchange it yesterday, for a black one... box says it's black, we ask is it black? yes.. its black.... yes definitely black... get it home.. .its DARK..... dark... BLUE! i thought it was just the lighting in our house, but when I looked at the receipt... it says NAVY BLUE!

Whatever... SHE GETS BLUE! lol

Deleted some people from my devwatch today... not many, but a few that made me think "why the fuck did I ever watch you?!?!".. you know... those ones...

Got a new itunes card, gunna get some xmas tunes if itunes doesnt suck like it normally does.

UG, I feel like death.

I have this nasty sore throat thing. i've had it before. its agony.

Our bunny died as you know, and my friends mum died this morning. I'm so sad for her.

My mums cat Checkers had a lump form on her tummy, then it got red. Mum took her to the vet and they wanted to charge 1000$ to just check if it was cancer and mum wasn't willing to do that, but then checkers chewed it open and she had a hole in her tummy the size of a toonie! it was so gross, so we rushed her to the vet and she had surgery today to get the mass that caused the bump removed and it was apparently quite huge inside. what was sticking out was quite small in comparison... poor Checkies has now a big huge incision on her tummy and has to roam around with a cone around her neck.
But at least she's okay.

I got my special order from work (half of it) of Aquabee Marker paper in 11x17 size so I'm going to do this issue of Daquermini on it

I hoped it would come in time

Not sure why I bother coming on here

Well, the day before yesterday our rabbit died. Little Ukio (aka Hitler) woke us up at 3:30am with a lot of noise in her cage. Given her weakened condition I knew she wasn't up for playing so I got up to check on her and when i reached in i grabbed her ear and tugged on it a little to see what she was doing (in a nice way- she used to like it) and she didnt move and she was cold. Jeri was awoken too and asked if she was dead and i said ya she was. Being that it was 3:30am there was nothing we could do, so we went back to bed, but sleep was not really going to happen. 'Bout a half hour later there was more noise from her cage. I was like "wtf?? not dead" so i turned on the light this time and looked in thinking she was being a bit of a brat, but when I saw her laying in her cage it was pretty clear she was on the way out. Â we petted her and sat up with her a bit and just went back to lay in bed. There was more noise again and this time when we checked she was gone.

We went to mums house the next day. Very tired.

Well, on Nov 1 I get to go to "This is it". I'm pretty excited. Little concerned that I dont have my costume started at all right now and halloween is in a couple days. Our work is doing star trek theme and of course we wanted to be borg. so ya... I got some sculpey to work on haha!

So my big sister temple is Running for the cure to breast Cancer. Some of you know (most of you don't because I don't tend to make a spectacle of these things) my Aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer and she's been going through the worst hell I've ever seen enduring the chemo and all that.

I'd really appreciate you guys donating to my sister run! She's running for my aunt and also her dad she lost to cancer 10 years ago.

If you cant donate, you can do a service by spreading the word for us, and hopefully spread it to someone who can donate

WOW, dA has become a less and less desirable place for me to stick around. I remember the old days when dA would give anything a shot, all the options considered all the view points, and they made something that in more cases than not satisfied everyone! This sharing links debate has been like talking to people with headphones on. They just keep running off the first thing they think everyone is concerned about without actually exploring all the areas of concern. They keep going off on the "art theft" and the "you can share anyways" argument without exploring the Aesthetic for Commercial artists, the concern that make up artists have with models, and the poor film community left out of portfolios forced to used regular dA for that, and the Lit community. All these people have raised valid concerns that are simply not brought up in the "appeasing" journals put out by staff. It's frustrating. if it's not one thing its another...

The pieces were painted live at the RDS Skate Supply Lower Lonsdale Block Party and Skate Competition. Each artist was given a 3' x 4' canvas and some spray paint (compliments of Opus Framing and Art).

I thought having a shiney new tablet might be super inspiring but after 2 weeks of owning it I had done nothing (traditional or digital). Then today i said "fuckit!" and started playing with it and boom, I'm starting to be happy with the result of what I'm doing. Its a painting of MJ, and its digital, but those 2 things aside, I'm pretty pleased (not that I'm against painting MJ but It's just that when you want to work on your own stuff, fanart/ tribute art is a frustration)

anyways, Maybe I'll post it but ... i dunno. I'm not exactly fond of digital work and its more of an exercise than really a "creative thing" in fact, it isn't really creative at all - its just a photo referenced duplicate sort of... sometimes you need that though. to get the uncreative out of the way. Maybe just post it because there is a tribute category... we'll see if it still makes me happy when I'm done HAHA!

i started reading the very thick MJ biography (updated and re released) on Tuesday, and to my horror, I am at the end... And guess what!? HE DIED :<

Bad ending.
I'm surprised i burned through 2 books (ones around 3 inches thick) in less than a week but that what happens when art takes a vacation i guess.

Spent the last couple days working hard over a hot computer on 2 logos.
I got them both done, and so theres a bit more income. Seems like i got kinda piled of paying gigs the last few days, or rather, everything's paying at once LOL.

not complaining, no sir!

I got to get a commission from =windfalcon, going to be buying a book from *rainetomoe, helped `FallenRox and `allhopeislost with kitty jack, and =ladydove7 with her lights. Its been great.

I'm also pleased to say I finally got a new tablet after bitching about my old ones pen for so long. I now have a Intuos 4 Small. I needed small because my table is too tiny for anything bigger (and I might have a few paycheques right now, but I still cant afford anything too big). I was a little annoyed to discover that the button settings aren't illuminated except on the control ring. ya that little dot... but the settings for each button are not shown which is kinda irritating since there are 10 settings on these buttons i have to magically memorize. But whatever, its still rad.

so my old Graphire 4 4x6 white still works, but the pen has no rubberized grip. ~~if anyone's desperate for a tablet, I'd be willing to let that one go. Plead your case. you can have it for the cost of shipping. I think i still have the mouse for it too if you want that.~~

I got hightops today! reminds me of my kid days when I thought they were super awesome (80's) because they made my feet look adult!
I remember having red ones that looked like ronald mcdonald shoes. i loved them. Okay, I never wear anything but long cargo pants, usually with pieces of other things sewn on them... I've worn shorts for the last week. my pastey off white legs have seen way too much sunlight. yet the colour doesnt change. I just get freckles.

Since my dA page isn't much good for posting art at all since most features ignore the film gallery, and I have maybe..... 2 people who actually comment on my work, I might take everything down (except some choice prints?) and move it to a personal gallery on my domain. What do you think? I have a domain, I should use it right? No one comments, so I'll not have comments able and I wont miss anything! Or make it like a blog feed or something.. I dunno. Seems like a good plan to me. I'll just need a stellar website design to inspire me, and that might take a while.

I'm simply trying to generate traffic to our domain by restricting everything there... that's not an unreasonable concept is it? LOL!

it's no secret that my love for dA has shrunk into quiet (and sometimes bitchy loud) disappointment. It cant be too much of a shock that I'd want to shrink my gallery down can it?

So the other day Ann asked me of I wanted to Paint on a big canvas for a charity thing on Saturday. I said sure, not really knowing what it was, then at the staff meeting Ann said that i was a features Graffiti Artist at the RDS (Skate Shop) Block party. OH really

My Painting will be sold at a charity Auction. There will be a website I'll link to as soon as I get that information. I hope it sells

It was done on a 46" x 60" Canvas, using only Plutonium spray paint.
I have NEVER used spray paint before LOL! I'm so surprised and quite pleased with how well I did, considering... you know... I love to experiment

My left hand is terribly sore. TERRIBLY! I have a big bruise on the base of my index finger from trying to smash the caps on the ground to open them (as per the instructions on the can, where they expect you to pop the tops by slapping the top on the can, but it takes several whacks on concrete!) and my index finger is bruised from the actual pushing of the caps to spray! Holy heck. I think it will be pretty sore tomorrow too. I was painting for around 6 hours with only minimal breaks. I'm surprised I didn't get heat stroke. I was in direct sun the whole time.

Been a while since I've actually gone through my message centre but, with the exception of a couple deviations, Its empty.

Turned out Mytoons took a nose dive so my favourite place to upload animations is gone. Found out because someone reported that the Trailor for Conflagration was a broken link on our site.
so I re-uploaded it to Aniboom. Aniboom is good and fast but not as cozy as mytoons. I'll miss them

And No I have no intention of Uploading it to dA. The uploader is too slow, and without a loading bar or any other indication of uploading besides a swirly dot, I dont even know if its working and most times its NOT. I loved dAFilm. I wish they'd work on it more and get it up to snuff.

SO, i got a new router! Some of you knew i had problems with my router just dropping the internet anytime it wanted, and I'd have to go unplug it, replug it back in and wait each time. It made skype conversations irritating, and uploading was brutal! I'd have to shove everything on a flash drive and take it to kittys computer and upload it there. I'd also almost never have it connect automatically when i started my laptop. I'd have to go fiddle with the router to get it to work the first time.
The new router is faster than my old one, and its connecting automatically, its password protected so people cant steal it from me, and so far, no problems. Installation was a BITCH though. but it worked

Not sure what I'm going to do today. I know i have a PILE of stock photos to upload to my stock account, and to enter in LDDs contest, i should really do that or I'll miss the deadline.Some of my Alberta photos and some more from the aquarium.

and i should take the opportunity to work on conflagration some but my tablet pen lost its rubber grip due to the ravages of time and now it makes my hand bleed if i use ittoo long

Got resident Evil 4, Wii version yesterday, and some more cradled panels to paint on. I've also been using Oil pastels to draw little thumbnails for future paintings. its been fun, but I dont like pastels much, they just seem to be useful for creating the look for my thumbs.

well, I need food.

I just wanted to clear something up, I have nothing to do with daqueran. LOL Daqueran is Entirely `misskittyoooo's comic, and noone else's. I helped with a few pages, some touch ups, I'll toss in a filler in Issue 2 for the print, but overall Its all Her. I didnt design the characters, I only know a bit more of the story than you guys.
So give credit where its due and credit only `misskittyoooo for the creation of daqueran. Okay? Okay...
Besides, it hurts my feelings when noone knows what the fuck conflagration is

Encaustics How to Blogs

^limnides expressed such an interest in Encaustics when I started posting mine, I started posting the blogs I've been wanting to do for a while. So far I've done 2 parts complete with photos:

Part 1

Supplies and tools. I went really in depth into which tools you would need, and how I improvised to make mine in a pinch. I've also included a list of pigments that should not be heated, so should be avoided in encaustics. I'll be expanding on that list as I get more information. I'll have to bug Maria again, I think I've asked her 100 times now HAHA!

Part 2

Making encaustic Medium. I step by step instruction on making encaustic medium from beeswax and resin crystals.

whats next?

Part 3-5 are coming up. I'll be making a walk through on doing an actual encaustic painting in the style that I use, since the internet is plugged full of tutorials on how to paint with the iron, but none on painting with brushes. I will also be doing a blog on safety for encaustics, and caring for encaustic paintings. So hopefully I will have sort of the definitive guide to painting with encaustics, since there doesn't seem to be anything that complete anywhere else.

The story is, we are just leaving Stanley Park after a long time at the aquarium, and there is a pond that usually houses many geese and ducks, and is loaded with delightful pond scum, and goose poo. Technically its probably a very rich habitat for wildlife but for humanity, its generally a scum pond that's nice to look at. to this guy, it was a water fountain, bathtub, and swimming pool.

Mum Got us a Wii For our birthday. It's been great fun

the Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility has been so awesome! I think its one of the best in the Harvest moon series. I have a flock of chickens, a silk worm, and a goat so far. Its very cute, and challenging to raise money in.

We spent most of the weekend at mums eating ice cream cake and playing wii sports. Usually the game that comes with the system is pretty shitty, but Wii Sports is AWESOME! it really is! it uses the motion controllers the best! we were sore from bowling and golfing

HA HA!! It's amazing and its fun, and its also fun to play with mum! We got Mario Kart and Animal crossing as well. I've not figured out how to get friends codes, or enter friends codes yet, but we will

I also got Joes book Experimental Magic. Its a MUST HAVE for Animators of all kinds! WOW, I was anticipating this book for a long time, and I was not disappointed. Joe did a nice little splash drawing in my book too <3

Back to help Kitty with harvest moon XD shes hitting geysers in the mine and is freaking out XD

on a whim today, mum upgraded our phone plan (we bundle with her) and switched carriers (because rogers would only upgrade 1 of our phones, and not all 3) so now i have a Blue samsung cleo phone. its pretty cute

i'm totally happy :3 except that Dev mobile doesnt have them in the list so i cant get wallpapers :\
we also got a couple more seasons of Little House on the prairie too. so now we have season 1-4,6,8,9 and the 3 movies.

So today i am dedicating my day to the pursuit of Conflagration. I'm tempted to post a trailer animatic or something, but I don't think it would do anything but disappoint me with the lack of reaction I'd get on here. Maybe i'll wait? What do you think? want to see an animatic for the trailer? the Trailer is going to be the first thing I post from the film. I've got it all storyboarded, I've just got to get the animatic worked out and dope it all, then I can animate. I think Ive figured out how i want to do effects, and it wont be in after effects as I initially planned.

I've been experimenting with my new art supplies a bit, and I'm working on a few paintings and drawings. all of them started, none of them getting completed

Daqueran was featured in the Estonian FHM! Kitty scanned the article here. Its pretty swell thats for sure

Kitty and I have spent our days watching Little house on the prairie. We bought season 1 &2 on DVD. We also got the first season of Rome, Duckman, golden girls, and another season of Seinfeld

we wont be bored for TV watching now haha! I think we need either 1 or 2 more seasons of seinfeld to be complete.

So most of you know, I experiment with all art supplies I can find or get my hands on, I've also got GADS AND GADS of product knowledge stuffed into my skull from my job at the art store, so Its about time I put that to better use than telling idiots in the store that acrylics aren't for kids.

I've started a blog Experimental Guru (following a theme see, Animated guru is my other one). Its got a temporary layout until i get my butt together and fix it, but in the mean time its going to be fun! I'm going to not only promote other peoples links to art websites, tutorials, resources and the like, but it will also be the place where i will be posting my tutorials from now on (with the exception of video tutorials which will still be hosted on dA for convenience but posted on the blog as well).

BAH!

Last night as the bus pulled up to our stop after a 13 hour shift at work, 2 fire trucks whizzed past us and pulled up right in front of our building

There was black smoke billowing from the top of the building but we couldnt see from where. When we got in we saw the Firefighter panel on the wall (has flashing lights indicating which floor the alarm was triggered on) and it was OUR floor that had the flashing light, Worse, it was in our section of the building. I ran around the back to the courtyard to see if I could see which apartment it was. Luckily it didnt look like ours.

When i got back we could go in. All was well. Fireman told kitty that it was someone Across from us that burned their dinner.

I spent oddles on framing yesterday, but its for the greater good! I'm framing "bala's home" because as you know, its made of up layers of acetate and vellum so its clipped together with bulldog clips, which really doesnt do much for me presentation wise! LOL

so ya, matting coming for that, Frame coming for Commission, and I got some new oil paint. hydrangea blue, cinnabar green, brown pink and transparent red earth! Joy!

Forgetful Guru

So I was painting the first players of my painting for my aunts Christmas present, Andi was trying to be careful to use enough Galkyd to Make it dry fast enough for me to work on it by the next weekend. Well i was good, all until i got to the bright spot. I dont think i used ANY galkyd there. This morning it was still almost as wet as the day I painted it. Very Annoying. It might be okay to paint over tomorrow though. I hope. There is going to be A LOT more to this, but I thought it looked nice as it is as well. and Its something to post about, to keep me motivated.

I have another drawing in mind as well. I might make it a combination of vellum and acetate again, but It might just be markers since I haven't done that in a little while. I think I'll probably play with my Effects for my Fire animation probably and maybe add a few more inbetweens just to smooth out the ending part a bit, but I'm moving onto trying to design the style of my water as well (which prompted my new drawing idea as well).

So there's my news, sorta.

Books and stuff

i got a set of 4 jack Skellington figurines yesterday from an Anime Store in Surrey. I know a few people who would be in heaven in there HAHA!
My big purchase was $70 worth of books!
I got 2 Peterson First Guide books. Ones for Rocks and minerals, and one for Trees. As I'm working more detailed on environmental aspects of my film, I'm hoping these will be useful.
I got the Sea Monsters Book. it came with 3d glasses LOL! but its awesome! I regretted not seeing it in the Imax when it was here.
I Also got the National Geographic book "Deep Ancestry - Inside the genographic project! its so far a really interesting read! i followed the Genographic Project on the website for a while.

The absolute cherry on the top of my delicious book pie was "Feathered Dinosaurs - The origin of Birds". It accounted for $45 of the $70 I spent on the books! Its amazing! The art work is gorgeous and the concepts in it are brilliant. It's my pride and joy right now

Because I bought more than $70 of books, i got a free Calendar of Whales and a book bag! How nice

`FallenRox posted some Visual Suggestions for the film gallery. We discussed and planned a lot of stuff for film together, and I'm glad to see those suggestions getting posted. In my humble little opinion film NEEDS these to be implemented, and soon. There is a huge struggle with clarity in regards to film. Rox's Plans solve a lot of those problems!

I'm quite enjoying my little art blog. I post in it lots, and having it there motivates me to post my daily news. its satisfying to HAVE something to post daily there too! The sketches on there wont end up on dA. Maybe only animation tests, if its not too much of an annoyance to shrink them. Mytoons has a bigger player so I might end up posting them there instead. They also have HD, which my Film (hopefully) will be, so it makes more sense to post it where I can actually see the work I've put into it. (dA needs to hurry up and get with the times!! HD and bigger player please!!!!)

So, ya, despite my leaving CR, I still plan to be a deviant. There area few things i have planned.

~freelancers - =ladydove7 is letting me take the reins on it, and as soon as the promised "groups" feature comes out, I'll be getting it all set up and back in business. Please go add that account to your devwatc. I'm hoping that i can devote a fair amount of attention to it

Tutorials - Despite the uncertainly with film I am feeling now, I do plan on making several video tutorials that I've been planning.

Cartoons - ^misskittyoooo and I have been planning on doing a little animated series for a while now. They'll likely be hosted here on deviantART, and we will also likely sell DVD's of them once we build up enough as well. Keep an eye on Gurukitty.com for that.

Pimping - you can still count on me to fav every article that comes in my watch (this goes out especially to the GM's) and to pimp anything you like me to. I have a pretty broad base of watchers so I think my pimping is useful. Goodbye CR

I've been thinking about it for a long time, but Yesterday I finally made the decision to leave Community Relations behind. I am hanging up my hat. I need to take care of myself for a while, and be just a person again. I need to meet some goals NOT associated with deviantART and develop some ME again. $Moonbeam13 says I'll be welcome back if I want, so maybe this ends up being more if a time off than a permanent situation. Depends on life

Reflecting

I joined CR in October 2006 as the Manga/Anime GM. I made huge sweeping changes, big mistakes and lots of friends. I swished over to Traditional ART after a while then worked my hardest as the Animation GM. Working with `FallenRox was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had. `FallenRox and I quickly became friends and I've adored every minute working with her. Her passion and drive for film is simply unparalleled.

$Moonbeam13, ^Ikue, ^PurpelBlur, ^ArtisticAunJuli, ^limnides & ^oilsoaked are all so awesome and dedicated and supportive!

One could not have asked to work for a better team of people to share time with.

And the Film team is always awesome! ^ElectrikPinkPirate, ^feawen, ^Kaotika & ^kmdigital - all awesome! (send your animation DD suggestions to ^feawen now plz)

OH YA AND ^misskittyoooo!!!

I worked really hard on the CR team. I hope you learned from me as much as I learned from you, and I hope you will continue to show respect to the volunteers that are still dedicating time to helping you everyday.

I will still be here, but I hope maybe some of my traffic will be generated for my ART instead of my symbol - Artist for Life, deviant til Death.

When one things ends, another begins

I'm pouring all my previous energy directed at CR into my own projects now. Painting, Art, and most of all, Conflagration. my Film. Its been neglected for too long. I sacrificed a lot of time for CR and without that time I can now refocus, and start doing stuff for me. I'm going to clean up my house and reorganize and turn my computer corner into a studio. My new focus is ART. I need to develop. I'm going to join the Nvan arts council and try to get my work into shows, and be a real artist. I'm going to get back into animation and start applying for jobs in studios again. Why I stopped doing that, I simply don't know...

I came home to disappointment as well as `FallenRox no longer being the leader of the Film Team and I don't know why, but it has left a pain in my chest.

I have to take some time to digest some things and make some sort of decision on what to do. I have hung onto too much false hope for too long and its made me look like and feel an idiot.

Crawwwwlling in my skinnnzzz: Turn off your air conditioner, turn off messengers, your cell phone ring, your TV and anything else that might make some noise in the background. OH that includes your ripped Linkin Park music too

MAKE a tripod. stack some books and set your camera on it. something like that. we don't want to hurl because you made us seasick from shaking around to much. This also applies to using a Screen capture program. Please turn off the clicking sounds and the auto zooming in the program. Scare of the century D:

This morning as I was counting the Holbein Acryla Gouache, my boss came up to me and was like "I thought we discontinued these..." and I nearly DIED. They're my favourite gouache. the Daler-rowney stuff I'm sure has its good points but as far as I'm concerned its crapola! I LOVE MY HAG D:
He looked into it and realized he was wrong, but the heart attack had already occurred :<

I bought Misty Green and Bronze gouache today to add to my pile. I'm gunna work on some bird anatomy tonight. possibly with gouache XD

Film applications

So ya, some of you are waiting on us to process your applications. I know, its a bit behind because everyone who handles them went on vacation, and everyone on vacation used that time to apply for film privileges! LOL! Rest assured, we are all working hard on them and we will get through them soon! When processing application we come across situations that make the act of processing them slow to a crawl! Lemme give you some pointers on making your application fast an easy to process for u, so we don't end up slowing down even more!

Small Files: I know your best work might be 10-20 minutes long, but we can discover your mad skills in less than 5! It's kinda a bummer to have to load a 20minute film just to review it. It would be really helpful if you kept the files you want to apply with short and sweet. If you have a long film, formulate a trailer type format, or take some of your best scenes, or submit your demo reel! It would really make a big difference in the speed we proccess applications. On that note, uploading your best quality file to your own website is really nice, and the quality is wonderful, but its a bitch to load that behemoth. shrink that sucker down! Make it fast and furious!

Host on youtube: YouTube sucks monkey balls, thats for sure. but there is one good thing about it. They load fast! if you host your work on there for us to review it makes it really easy to process them! Don't worry about how youtube butchers the quality of your film! we just need to check for certain things, and we know the mess youtube makes and we can see past it for the purposes of processing your application

Don't host on sites that require user logins: I wont sign up for every site out there just to view your film which requires me to login to view it. You might get lucky and I might already be a member of that site, but it wastes a massive amount of time logging into these other sites or having to create an account to view your stuff. To me, thats an invalid link. Make sure your film is viewable to the public.

Dont lie: Don't lie about your music rights. When I review an application, and it says "there is no copyrighted material in my submission" and then I load a David Bowie fan video, your credibility drops 100 points. If you don't know where you got your music from, it doesn't mean that its not copyrighted.

Merry Christmas

Okay, I think this year goes down in history as being the christmas with the most weird random shit XD

So Christmas eve at work was generally uneventful. we had to load the shipment that arrived piece by piece from the alley because the truck was not able to get to our loading bay, then after that the truck was stuck for almost an hour trying to get out of the alley. Then we got the rest of the staff's blessing to go home half an hour early! we thought "yay! christmas starts early".
Theres a saying about counting chickens before they hatch, we forgot about it :B

we took the seabus across the Vancouver, to hop on my skytrain to surrey. Normal routine, the train takes about half an hour ish... 45 on a rough day.
We get on at waterfront station and the train is sitting there for 45 minutes!!!! I was keeping better spirits about it than kitty thats for sure. Any announcements made were few and far between. we finally got word that there was tree fallen on the tracks in new west that had stopped all the trains in vancouver.

Finally we move! but not before a woman reeking in perfume (of which we happen to be allergic to) stood her fat ass right next to us! Okay we moved a stop, sat another half hour, next stop, again, half an hour. this goes on, for a LONG time!

I phoned mum to tell her about the troubles. the train finally moves, only to be stopped again at Columbia station. 2 stops from our destination!! and we are told we will be waiting "a VERY long time" the train however moves!! but only just far enough to be in the fucking tunnel in the pitch black!! Kitty is banging her head on the door window and a woman says "if you fall out, it will cause another delay" ROFLLLL
then the train moves AGAIN, BAKCWARDS!!! back to columbia station. They make an announcement to the people on the playform that its a EXPO line not a millennium line (we were on it, we needed expo) and then moments later... they tell us ALL to get off, its NOW a millennium line train....

Holy fuck did that ever take the cake! we were furious, THEN to top it off the next train that comes... MILLENNIUM!!! and it was EMPTY!!! then the Expo comes along, and its PACKED!!!!! we stood on that train, and it pulled into the tunnel and stopped... the announcement again we will be waiting a "very long time" and "use alternate transportation if you can"
Oh really? we're in a fucking tunnel...
They wise up and back us out back to the station. I phoned mum and she got fed up and said she was coming to get us, so we had to get off and wait for mum to pick us up.

all put together we were stuck on the trains from 4:15pm until 7:30pm when mum got us...
all because "snow got in the switch and they couldnt switch tracks" and that was after they cleared the tree off the track.

Okay, that little piece of hell was over. we got to mums, nuked up some grub and I was exhausted and just wanted sleep.

when we went to bed, there was loud activity on the balcony that sounded like someone climbed on! startled us up! then we went back to bed but it was the party fuckers from the upstairs balcony that were being super noisy!! You all watch the ^deviantartfilm account right? you should! I know I've gone over this a million times already but maybe some of my newer watchers didn't know! ^deviantartfilm is the Headquarters for Film and animation on DA

Thats right! Updates, polls, and bug information is all there! you can also keep your eyes on the status forum. There is a thread specifically for bug reports! Its awesome because then you can check there first, before noting any of us on the film team, and get your answers faster! Neat eh? It's exciting I think :3

Blast from the past!!

Applications

We get lots of notes, and comments asking about the status of film applications, and then when we investigate them, they've been submitted a day or 2 before. Please be patient!!!! The applications can take up to 2 weeks but rarely ever do, and if they do its generally due to a holiday season or something like that. The more time we spend investigating your application, thats less time PROCESSING it! Patience in a virtue!!! Please....
Having said that, yes, you may find it slows down over the holidays a little! Please don't note us about it! We'll get to them. believe it or not, we have families too!! We're doing our best. If it takes a little longer, we're sorry, but please be patient :3

You have a video camera? Oh that's great! That means you can film yourself, your brother, a friend, your pet, or your mom doing simple actions like walking, running, jumping, or even dropping a ball! That means you can make footage so the animators or anyone that draw can use as a reference! If we can get a lot of references footage like that, Deviant Art could become a very useful tool for animators around the world! Imagine, if it becomes enough popular, people from animation studios could use your stuff as references!

If you have a moving walkway, you can film yourself walking from, side, and then from front! We need these kind of footage. You can make a happy walk, and then an angry walk.

schedule Madness

In the coming weeks Up to and after christmas My schedule is going to be pretty crazy. I have 7 day work weeks, my only days off some weeks are Christmas and New years day. I really don't know how active I will be. I just wanted to let you know.

DD's

In this busy time, I'll try to set some DD's, but I only have 2 notes sitting in my inbox with DD suggestions I haven't looked at and since only about 1/10 is acutally even in the right category when i get DD suggestions, I don't know what my options are going to be DD wise. So either get sending me some, or don't complain about the lack of them.
Animation has been pretty good about having DD's frequently, so you have no real reason to complain if I miss a couple weeks, or they run a little thin for a while. Don't forget to send some suggestions to ^feawen and ^misskittyoooo for animation as well!

I've been playing with Oil paints lately, and cold wax. Its been fun. Here are some paintings I did, If you are interested in seeing them I mean.

Maria at work got me interested in Encaustics, so Eventually I might get into mixing my own wax's and stuff. We'll see how 2009 goes. (check out Marias work! she's AMAZING!)

Whale Adoption

I got my certificate and Tote in the mail for my Killer Whale Adoption!!! I listened to my CD of Killer Whale voices and it made me so Happy! I have a certificate to frame on Payday now :3 YAY! so excited

Oilpainting

Ive been painting with Oil and Wax, and its awesome!!! I love it! But they take TOOOO long to dry LOL I cant scan em either cuz the wax never fullllly dries so I cant squash em on a scanner XD I'll try to take photos soon <3
