OK, so yesterday, with the help of 4 of my six kids, we got potato salad and cranberry sauce made. yes potato salad. my wife doesn't like mashed potatoes and every one in our house loves potato salad. and two apple pies done late last night.

this morning I made two pumpkin pies that just came out and now the turkey is in the oven. should be out by 3:00.

my 4 and 5 year old girls are the most excited about Thanks Giving. they are more than delight ed in seeing all this coming together.

shew wants to go back so bad I told her to go, enjoy it again.

her response was, "Really?!? can I?" then she said I can take out oldest daughter to see it next week when she doesn't have so much homework. (yeah I'm a Twi-Dad.)

so, yeah. me=Single dad for the next few hours.

on a plane to California.

left this morning with the baby... she left me with the rest of our children.




of course it is not as bad as it sounds. my father in law passed away and she is flying home to be with her sister.

I CANT BELIEVE THIS YEAR HAS FLOWN BY SO FAST... wow...

so much to say and not a lot of time...
had a interesting weekend... started friday evening with 6 - 12 year olds having a B-day sleepover in our house. it actually went prety well... except the 4 yearold thinking she was a 12 yearold and at 3:00am trying to go downstairs to rejoin the sleeping masses. Saturday afternoon my new 12 year old went iceskating with the youth of our church. she also just happened to slip on the ice and take a ride in an ambulance to the closest hospital... turns out she landed on her back and was too afraid to move so they called 911. so $100.00 of christmas money later (thank the Lord fore good insurance) we find she has a sprained ankle... and a brused back. nothing serious.

on other news... I got to hold and play with my 6 mo old son more today than I have been able to since his birth! I put in a lot of extra time last week so I would have today and tomorrow off of work! YAY ME!!

tomorrow starts off early with me taking my son to his 7:45am orthodontist apt. and later in the day the exciting part! we are getting a babysitter so My sweetie and I can have a mini date and finish shopping for the big day... just stocking stuffer stuff left. yep!

thats about it for now...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to every one who reads my nifty journal... and even to those who dont.

ok, not really. but I got your attention. so here I am dead tired and still wanting to update my journal...

Korbin is now just over 4 months old... over 19 lbs and huge... really 12 mo outfits are almost too small to fit him.

2 weeks after school started a strange illness started to plague our family. it took two and a half weeks to finally cycle through everyone at least once, the lucky ones got it twice.

A buddy of mine is moving out of state to be closer to family. he had a 36" wood lathe he didnt want to move. so he gave it to me. I'm so excited! now I need to clean out the garage to be able to use it... right after I find the crib hardware so I can assemble it and give my 4 mo old a place to sleep... yeah I know, should have done that months ago. well he came 2 weeks early and we never got to go searching in the sea of boxes thrown in the basemnet...

And at least I still have a job.

... I'm very tired... going to bed now.

this morning started like any other...

5:00am - alarm goes off... hit snooz.
5:20am - I finally climb out of bed and shower for the day...
6:00am - wake wife up so she can shower.
6:30am - lunch is made, eat breakfast...

I decided to post a new deviation this morning since I have been so busy I havent been able to post it for a week... so I was running a bit late...

7:00am - I finally leave for work.

7:10am - my wife calls... she said, "I think my water just broke... come home."

so after getting the older 3 kids off to school and calling our good family friends who are willing to watch the younger two we head to the Hospital...

I know what those of you who are reading this who have had children are thinking... 'Water broke! 6th kid! what!?! no instant laber!?! nope. my dear wife Stacie was not having any real contractions yet...

after dropping the 4 and 2 yo off at our friends I called my boss... I dont think I have ever heard him get so excied as I told him my wife and I were going to the hospital to have the baby.

finally we were there, checked in and in our room... slowly over the next 6 hours my wife started having contractions that progressivly got srtonger and stronger...

at 3:20pm this after noon Stacie gave birth to Korbin Dean. a 8lb 15oz, 20" (50cm) baby boy!

as I statedin my subject... this is two weeks early. we were so not ready for this, but it actually happened on the only day our good friends could have come and watched our kids after school. we have been so very blessed.

we sold our house and closed on our new house yesterday!

most of you havent knows that we were trying to sell our house... after 2 months and dropping our sell price a lot... we got an offer last thurs and we accepted! we also had made an offer on another house and it was accepted last sunday... so now all we have to do is close on both! we are so excited! the new house is a allergy free environment. pergo floors and birber carpet. that will help Kaylie (2) out a lot!

every one is healthy at the moment... a big bonus! and my OT is done... so I will actually get to see my family again!

my wife took Kaylie to an alergy specialist this morning...

turnes out after a few tests she has no food allergies... but she is allergic to cats.


this complicated with the puenomonia she may have never fully recovered from is the cause of her problems and sencitivaties to other things...

we are finding that Kaylie is allergic to wheat, legumes, nuts, bananas... basically her diet will consist of rice and potatoes.

Aidan seemes to be having problems as well...

I got some sort of sick or bug thing that put me in bed for the last two days... I have never been in so much pain in my life. my head, arms stomach, back, legs... excruciating pain. I still have a soar throat and aky muscles but at least I'm not bed ridden any more...

I'm sick again... or still... I finished my second round of meds thurs. but they did nt seem to be doing much for me. since then I have been getting slowly worse. last night I hit an all time low. I was getting worried I would have to go to the hospital... luckily no. I was having such a hard time breathing. I have spent all morning in bed (except for making breakfast). I dont have enought streingth to do much...

I have 52 messages to go through... we'll see how that goes...

yeah so its true... visit to the dock, meds and steroids later I'm on the mend... thankfully not in the hospital, but that will change if I dont take it very easy... just holding my 1 year old (who's Birthday is today) is very taxing.

the past weeks have been major crazy. lots of OT and not much time... still havent done anthing on my digital art show projects. gotta fix that.

we finally released our data and the lead designer of my program is taking us out to lunch tomorrow! bonus! free food!

kids started school this week, so I get to work later and have to stay later...

my net usage has to stay restricted because of other stupid people here at work leaving a window open the net... and running up the usage hours. so now they are scrutenizing every one. and tecnically DA is not work related so I need to be carefull.

Following is my response to DA! Your comments are much appreciated, for if i am wrong in my views and standing point, then i will need you guys to show it to me.

While i guess i can appreciate the way the rules apply to other art (i wouldn't know, i am not that prolific with my repertoire and choice of media) i still maintain that you have done me, as an inker and a person a great wrong.

Like i have said before, the pencils are meant to be inked. If you can show me one penciler that would be annoyed at his pencils being inked then maybe i would have to rethink my standing point. There are plenty of places where pages are available for inking. Pages are freely distributed between inkers and pencilers on many a list, as long as nobody makes any money out of it. It is how we practice. It is the way we learn and get better and learn our CRAFT.

Well I was tagged by (big suprize).

Rules: List 10 things about your art and post it in your journal. Then pick 6 other Deviants to do the same.

1. I ink byhand, and use gel pens... .5mm and fiber tip
2. I use my lunch hour to ink...
3. I started out inking digitally and was turned on to inking by hand...
4. [edited] I started drawing at a very young age... then gave it up... now I more or less have lost the real tallent of drawing... (inking takes a hole differant set of skills than penciling)
5. In 7th grade art class my teacher thought I had traced some cartoon dog pics that we were supose to redraw... I didnt trace them... and to prove it, I drew one 10 times te size...
6. I have 2 fine art degrees, an ASA and a BFA, both majoring in 3D art (not CG)
7. I scan all my inks in at 400dpi... but post the 50-100dpi's on DA
8. I am picky when it comes to the pencils I ink.
9. I dream everyday of having more time to ink...
10. I believe everyone has the ability to be an artist. You just have to want it and work hard.

I was going to do this last night but I was tired... and then my mom said (as we were in the kitchen) "well do you need a piece of pie before bed?" uh, do you really need to ask? yeah, 2 pieces later... my dad had pics he wanted to show me of Dannis's wedding (bro that was married 2 weeks ago) so I sat through a slide show of that... it was cool to see. my bro Dennis really got himself a winner! he seriously married up! then pics of Aarons wedding (friday). neet stuff... but I was tired...
so here we are tis morning...

so I have basically 2 days left... today and tomorrow. my dad belongs to a master gardener club and has a thing from 9:00-12:00 and a duch oven lunch to go to! since I'm a gardner this is very cool! and food too!! nice!

Dennis and Kathleen are comming over for dinner after chuch meetings today. it really has been a great weekend.

and I have gotten 4.33 pics inked... very cool! so exspect those when I get back.

my ride to the airport leaves at 5:30am...

so tonight I need to pack and do 2 other things.... one of wich I cant remember what.

I'm getting mighty excited...

*bonus* monday I stopped by the pharmacy to pick up Kaylies prescription. they told me I had a refund comming... (what!?!) so not understanding why, and needing to check our bank to see if they had really taken out the money, I took the $92.92 and quite puzled went home. after a leingthy phone call we find that their records showed us as paying cash and taking the prescript. then. we didnt and tried to right the situation. at the end of the conversation the pharamacist told us to keep it because of all the trouble we had had over this. 3 trips there, insurance calls, calls to the pharmacy, stress on our part. wow, its some much, much, much neede cash right now..

so my brother Dennis called last night, the one that was just married and wants me to reside at his house wile visiting family for our last brothers marrage...

like the title sais, "SCORE" dont get me wrong, I love my family. but I grew up in the house and my siblings (4) and their spouses and children will all be there... so I get a room all to my self! as long as they have net access I will be in good shape. if not my parents do, so its all good! I'm starting to get pretty excited about going!

my fingers are burning 15.5 hours later...

let me start from the beginning...
when I was getting the plants for our garden this year I bought what I thought was jappalino peppers...
as they produced the fruit I could tell they were not jappalino's but another variety. long and spindily, not short and fat.

so earlier this week i picked 75% of them and gave them to a sadistic co worker who loves to torment us with his habanero concauctions.

the other 25% I was planning on freezing for use later... so I picked 12-15 hot peppers from our garden and proceeded to de-seed and de-vine them. about 15 minutes after I was finished my finger tips (pointer fingers and thumbs) started to burn... let me preface this with, a week ago I was cooking some taco meat for taco salad. I decided to add a little of our hot peppers so I picked and cut one up. curious I dabbed a piece on my toung... no bitting, just a dab. IT was hot and my mouth burned for 5 min. ok, back to the story... so my finger tips were burning, instinktivly I put my finger in my mouth... (let me just say this was just stupid on my part) aprox 1 sec later my mouth and lips were burning with the same painfull intensity... so hours later they start to sub side a little. but any time I touch anything it flares up again... especially something warm.

now 15-16 hours later they just tingle a little unless I apply a lot of pressure...

moral of this story... it dosent have one...


more good news. so my wife calles this morning... she is taking our 2 year old to the DR and later herself...

she calls back a little later. Kaylie has a really bad case of impetigo or medically known as acute contagious staphylococcal or streptococcal skin disease.

then a little later she calls to tell me she has a strep throat...

so every one is sick in our house or has been sick but me.... since it is spread by saliva this means no kissing the wife. or any one else in the house.

and a DR bill is so not what we needed right now or to have to pay for prescriptions... wile I'm not in as bad a shape as ~trialsze but I dont have money for food so this is just bad...


on an up note... I have 5 days left till I'm on my way to my bro's wedding!
and 6 new watchers!
