Damn. Damn damn damn damn damn.

I just got an envelope from Max regarding my tuition costs.

They don't take OSAP.

No student loan. No INTEREST-FREE student loan.

No bursaries, no scholarships, because it's a privately owned college. I have enough in my mutual funds for my first year, but after that . . .

The first year is going to clean me out. I've only got about $2,600 in my savings (I was only able to get my first job this year, and now I'm going to lose it because I'm not going to Carleton anymore and it's at the library there), and just getting a train pass to GET to school for the first year is going to cost me $900.

I'm getting to hate Toronto.

My only option is to open a line of credit. With a secure line interest is good, about 4.5%. You can get a secure line of credit by putting up liquidatable (is that a word?) assets, like a car or house or whatever.

I don't have a credit card, much less liquid assets. I don't even own my own BIKE.

I could open a line of credit with a co-signer. Thing is, you don't really want to co-sign, except maybe with your parents. Neither of my parents has a secure line of credit. We'd have to put our house on security, since it's all we have that a bank would take (both our vans are wrecks, maybe worth $1,000 each). In fact, I think we're in debt right now. Mom can't work, Grant can't work, and Mallory and Dean are too young to work. Dad's getting a raise this year (government finally realized that you need to PAY the military if you want to keep peacekeepers), but not enough to cover something like this.

This leaves opening a student line of credit with a bank. Okay. No big deal, right? I'll just have a chunk of loan to pay off, same with an OSAP.

The rate of interest on a student line of credit is OVER TWENTY PERCENT.

The tuition for all three years alone is $30,000, not counting the extra money I have to spend on paints and other class supplies, hygiene and other personal crap, and minor rent for whichever grandparent I stay with (not to mention train passes, can't forget those!).

Maxine said that if a student is good enough and in bad financial trouble they'll sometimes offer to finanace them 'til the end of the program, like an OSAP. This has happened a grand total of twice.

So. My options? Work my ASS off, prove to them that I have talent coming out the ears and therefore am too valuable to be dropped, apply for every non-school-associated scholarship I can find, and deck myself out with luck charms.

Unless you guys can think of anything else.

*sigh* Man, and I have a Latin exam tomorrow to worry about on top of this. It's gonna be a long day/night, I think . . .

At least we get quiche for supper tonight. ^^ And it's sunny and warm out, and Latin is the last exam I have to worry about. And if all else fails at Max, I can drop out after first year; that'd give me enough fine arts skills to maybe shoulder my way into the industry on my own.

It'll all turn out okay. :)

My HEAD. x_x

Okay, survived my Hums and Classics exams with minimum damage. Bombed at least a quarter of my English exam, kinda-sorta on purpose. Now all I have to worry about is my Latin exam tomorrow, and that damned overdue ESSAY. :twitch: (And, technically, my Anthro exam too, but not only is it easy, and not only do I already know what's on it, but I don't necessarily have to do it, either.) Which I SO do NOT want to write.

Also the commission for Rasputin's. And trying to work on my doujin. And get the stuff about my new school sorted out. And make a trip to my old high school. And learn how to do taxes. :chainsaw: And still working on top of this. I haven't even had time to DDR lately. ;_;

At least I finished Daughter of the Forest (made me cry ;_; ), and now I'm onto Son of the Shadows. And I wanna go to Chapters again and finish reading Comic Party and DNAngel. And other stuff.

Gorgeously warm out, at least. I was able to wear shorts yesterday. ^^ People think that because it's so cold up here we must get long springs/falls. Nope. The summers are just as hot as our winters are cold. So the in-between seasons are usually over in less than a month. XD *waves flag*

Also got myself a GreatestJournal, because I'm just that much of a comment whore. And I needed somewhere to put all my Riku icons.

And I'm attempting to diet, because I'm planning to go to Anime North as Kairi. Said diet is (supposedly) quite simple: no sugar, no flour. Takes down your carbs and refined sugars.

BUT I AM GOING TO GO INTO WITHDRAWAL. *_@ *snarlbite*

Well. This has certainly been an interesting number of weeks.

I'm officially accepted into Max the Mutt, and equally divided about being ecstatic and being terrified about it. It's mostly the idea of having to live away from home for so long, but I figure I'll get the hang of it soon enough. I'm just lucky enough to be able to live with relatives instead of having to rent; the tuition's going to be enough to have to pay as it is. Anyway, apparently the school is appalingly short on female students, so Maxine has me on a "recruitment mission" of sorts to track down girls who might be interested in the program. :XD: I've found a few so far, but the going is still slow; if you know anyone, tell them! Please?

Took out a book from the library called "Daughter of the Forest" by Juliet Marillier. I am astounded. This woman's work is amazing. It's a retelling of the old Irish story about the princess whose six brothers are transformed into swans, and she has to fashion six shirts out of nettles in order to break the curse, without ever saying a word. Even if you don't like or have never heard of the original tale, if you have even a moderate taste for the fantasy genre then I suggest you go check her out.

On the school front, I finally have two essays done (my Hums one; one on Egypt and Mesopotamia that's been overdue since December, and one on Taoism), and two more to go (overdue Classics one on the oneiros and an Anthro one on why manga is so popular in North America). Anthro is due tomorrow and I haven't started writing it yet. Gack. Gack. :fear: Still haven't started the Classics one, either, but it's already overdue and I figure I can bull it, as long as I get it in before the exam. I hope. :crossfingers:

Speaking of exams, got ones on the 11, 12, 18, 19, and 21. Fun times. At least my Latin and Hums exams are third and fourth, which gives me some time to study, and Anthro is last (which I don't have to study for at all). Classics and English might be tricky (that's a lot of reading to get done in one weekend), but I figure I can pull them off. Somehow. o_O Between painting the blinds for Rasputin's. ~.~

At least all the snow has just about melted, so I'm biking to school again. :D

What else? I am falling progressively more and more in love with Riku and this fic. I'm planning to finally finish that FFIX doujin once these damned exams are out of the way. I'm also planning to randomly search my library for books on alchemy for fun once exams are out of the way (shoot, I'm going to have to get a library card for Toronto when I move there). I realized I still have an LJ (and somehow subsequently got myself involved with FMA!crack). Hoyesh, and Adam and I are working on an interesting KH fic. And that's about it.

W00t. Well, this was . . . rather unexpected, actually. But it's looking to be awesome. :w00t:

I've been getting more and more into my artwork lately, and was toying with the idea of looking into some art schools next year, when I stumbled across a Canadian university/college search engine online. I looked up some art programs for kicks. Guess what I found? This awesome place called Max the Mutt Animation School. The program is thorough, awesome, and includes video game design stuff, too (which I want to see if I can pursue as a career--Squaresoft, here I come! XD).

But, yeah, I realized that I don't really want to have to slog through another year of Humanities when I have this great program sitting right here. I want to be sure, though, so I found out Max is holding an Open House this Saturday (read: tomorrow). This place is in Toronto, but my Grandma said I could stay with her and I have enough money for Greyhound tickets. So I reserve a spot in the info session, that's it.

The owner of the school calls me up Wednesday and says I might as well just hold my application interview while I'm there on Saturday. o.o So I spent all of that day and Thursday trying to get all my application requirements together. XD I did, though, so now I'm all set. *straps arm* I AM going to get into this place, no matter how many tries it takes me!

The problem is I'm going to be paying for it years afterward. ;_; The tuition is $30,000 for three years, my family is poor, I'm next to dirt poor, and since it's a private college there are no bursaries and only one scholarship that I've already missed the entry date for. I'm going to be paying off this student loan for a looooong time, methinks. ~.~ Ah well. Que sera. (That is how you spell it, right? :dumb: )

Hopefully I'll get that job with TO's Hydro that I applied for for this summer; I've heard they pay well.

Okay. Wow. Haven't updated this in a while. Mostly been too caught up with random crap (especially getting myself addicted to FFIX; expect to see fancomics in the near future >.> ) and schoolwork (damn you, essays! And Latin tests! DAMN YOU!! :shakefist: :chainsaw:).

Winter's slowly winding down, and mother Nature can't seem to make up her mind. It snows, it melts. It snows, it melts, it snows. It melts, it snows, it melts, it snows, it snows, it melts, it snows, it melts, it . . . you get the idea. :snowing:

Aaand . . . I have an idea for a quickie comic for *furan-san, but gods above know whether I'll ever actually get around to it between the essays and the tests and the choosing a minor and the random fancomics. (Doesn't help that I'm getting back on my KH character kick again; go see my gallery pic of Kem if you want an example. ~.~)

That's it. Oh, and reading week is next week. How many of you guys get that (since I know some of you are in other continents, to say nothing of countries)? Any plans? I'll probably make it to ONE party and then spend the rest of the time on those durn essays. *rarr* :domo: At least the topics I've got are moderately interesting.

I am seriously considering quitting university and just getting a job and doing art all the rest of the time. The upside to a job is that you don't have half as much homework to eat up your spare time. >.> Rarr.

I've been shying away from the computer lately, however, and gotten rid of my AIM login. I'm also clearing out my hotmail accounts, so the only e-mails I'm keeping are Gmail and my university one. Alrighty, I promised that I'd put up all the fixings the lovely Sheila put on our computer to have it running so much better. All the programs I list are absolutely free, absolutely legal, and can be found on her website, Computer Tamers, under the 'Helpful Info' and 'Anti Virus' headings.

The first thing you want to do is clean your computer of all those nasty viruses and Norton and McAffee fail (and always WILL fail) to detect. AGV Anti-Virus is fast, thorough, and constantly being updated. Norton only updates every Wednesday, and as Sheila said, "In the meantime there are viruses coming out Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday." Once AGV is installed, you just check for updates every time you go online, and if there's a new one ready, it makes the update. It also checks for viruses during the DOS boot, and lets you know if it finds one before opening Windows. Sheila's website also has a scrolling list of the most recent and dangerous viruses going around.

Next: Get yourself Firefox. People, I'm serious, this is the best web browser I've ever used. It's fast, it's simple, it's free, and there's a help file just for IE users. What I think has got to be the neatest thing about it is the tab ability: instead of having to open a new window for every different site you want to go to, you just open a new tab, and they all stay inside the same window. DO NOT delete IE off your computer, however, since Microsoft is a bum and imbedded it into the system. In other words, if you delete IE, your computer goes bye-bye.

Then e-mail! For those of you who hate Outlook Express, give Eudora a try. Very handy, lots of neat options, and you can transfer your mail and address books from Outlook into Eudora (but ONLY with the 6.0 version, so be careful!).

Then we've got OpenOffice, which I think is absolutely amazing. You need Java to install it, but it does everything (and I mean that literally) that Microsoft Office can do, including powerpoint and word documents. Microsoft documents will open in OpenOffice no problem, and unlike Microsoft, OO doesn't give your comp extra problems with badly-made options.

To keep your internet safe (by the way, did I mention that Firefox supresses nearly all popups?), you'll want to get a good firewall going. db_za2">Zone Alarm is amazingly good (and works just as good as the Pro, so don't bother paying). It scans your computer, your e-mail, your 'net, and heals or deletes infected files at your command when it finds them. It also keeps a record of how often people try to break into your computer, and at what level of danger (eg. critical, medium, low). When we first got it installed, we hadn't been online five minutes before getting 12 low-level break-ins. o.o; Pretty scary. Sheila says it's all the Russian Mafia members trying to get to people's credit card numbers. ^^;

Last but not least, now that your computer is all protected, you might want to get it cleaned up. Diskeeper Lite is a great defragging program that it simple to use and doesn't cause any damage to your computer. You can free up fragged space and get your computer running more smoothly.

I just had THE.MOST AWESOME.CLASSICS CLASS.EVER. A woman from the Ottawa Storytellers came in and told us part of the Odyssey. I didn't know Ottawa even HAD a Storytellers' guild. And she was AWESOME! It's so DIFFERENT to hear a story that was originally meant to be performed orally actually done that way. And ENTIRELY from memory. I have no idea how she does it. o.o; She said it takes a while. XD

OMG I just found out they're doing a story swap tonight at the Archives. @_* *wants to go and listen to the pretty stories* It says you're allowed to tell stories too; I wonder if you have to have them memorized? Oh wait, it's at 7:30. My work shift ends at 7. Well, darn it. >.O**** Maybe I can still go! If I can, it would be neat to tell a story from the Buried Treasure anthology I have (it's a collection of folktales from around the world, Japan to Scandinavia and beyond), even if I do have horrid horrid stage fright. And even if I can't go, my siblings might want to. I'd better phone home and let Mom know. *runs off*

And I have to finish Mrs. Gant's piece and get my butt over to my old high school, get to work on my brother's present, make the cards for dA, make the cards for family/friends/teachers, get notes and readings done for midterms and write up some scripts for Jii.

Okay. So. A lot has been happening, and at the same time, a lot hasn't. Not much has actually changed, but I have been massively loaded down with homework lately so I haven't been able to get much done. I already got reamed out by my English teacher for falling asleep in class two days in a row. I'm getting back on track now, but I have to scramble to catch up, and midterms are coming up, AND there's something I want to make my little brother for Christmas, so any new pieces (side from stupid little things) are going to be long in the coming.

In other news, I am now an editor for ! Yay! :w00t: I adore his stuff. Yay Dexter/Blossom pairings.

And thanks to him, I managed to get myself obsessed with Nicktoons/Cartoon Network. >.> Well, except for Danny Phantom. I was already BADLY infatuated with that before I started reading the PPG doujin. XD Just ask ~JadeRabbit (who is a very awesome fanfiction writer, BTW).

By the way, you ALL HAVE TO GO TO ~ fhqwhgus's SCRAPS GALLERY AND SEE HER TNY STUFF. I feel bad for being so behind on the scripting, but anyone who's interested in the storyline can at least get a feel for some of the main characters and villains that she's sketching out. It's rather . . . well, Gaiman-esque, I suppose, story-wise. American Gods was an awesome story, but we were really particularly inspired by Gaiman's Sandman comics. Go read. I command thee.

:yawn: :sleep: Tiiiired . . . I've been badly cranky lately, our computers are still messing up and it started to snow yesterday. Not enough to actually stay, but biking to school is becoming uncomfortable. Not to mention I'm on a diet, which really doesn't help my stamina any.

Mostly been working with Jii on TnY, working on a Kouga/Ayame fic I've had in the works for a while now, trying (rather unsuccessfully) to get Mrs. Gant's piece on more of a roll, and (mostly) trying to keep up with my homework. *sigh* *waves flag*

I met with Simon, my mentor. He's really cool and knows a lot about aboriginals. He's even written up some treaties; he said I could find some if I looked up Brascoupé on the internet. *will do so*

Decided not to join the animé club; they try to hard to be elitist. :| Hallowe'en was fun, even though I didn't get all that much candy. Pie club today. :pie: *realizes I can't have any, because I'm on a diet* Dammit! :shakefist: :tears:

Mrr. Alrighty then, I'm off to Note Jii. Hopefully we'll have something by way of teasers/intros for the strip soon.

Doesn't help that BOTH our computers at home kacked. Been getting colder lately—well, in the morning anyhow. Eee. Welp, I'm low in terms of cash flow, and everyone else seems to be doing it with moderate levels of success, soooooooooo . . .

Starting prices are between $10 and $20 for a basic piece on paper, depending on materials, detail, and complexity. A piece on 16"x20" piece of illustration board starts at $15. For a piece on a 16"x20" canvas (which will have to be in acrylic paint; I don't have oils), starting price is $20 and will be negotiated from there, depending on complexity. Postage extra. If you guys think those prices are too high, let me know and maybe we can work something out. >.>;

I know there aren't many examples of my colouring skills (such as they are :doh:) on my gallery, but I'll try to get some more up. I can work with pencil, ballpoint, calligraphy pen/ink, acrylic paint, conté, graphite, oil pastel, chalk pastel, markers, crayon, and—when pressed—charcoal. See the Personification Series below for an idea of how well I work with various mediums.

I'll do abstract, animé, sketches, MARVEL style (although it's a bit rusty), text based, cultural traditional (to the best of my ability - depends on the culture), and simplification, among other things. Heck, if I can steal the art room I might even take stained glass commissions come September. Anyone want an Inu-Yasha suncatcher? :D

Alrighty, that's it. I'm taking my general leave of the 'net, ladies and gentlemen, so after my next deviation don't expect much from me for a long while. I will occasionally pop on to edit mayshing's comics and laugh at furan-san's comics, and I will finish what I owe zaphk for her art trade.

But I've had one helluvva scare, and I'm going to be avoiding computers—and especially the internet—as much as possible now. I am seriously considering scrapping my website, or just turning it into a minor link pike. I'm scrapping all extraneous 'net accounts I can afford to. I've been ignoring my non-digital life too often lately, and I've had enough of it.

I may occasionally dump a bunch of deviations, but don't count on it. >.>

And yes, I am dropping my contest entries for rokugan and crazy-directors-club. *wince* Sorry for any inconvenience that may cause the club presidents. I know this is very sudden.

Well, other than that I am falling in love with Neil Gaiman all over again. I'm currently in the middle of reading Smoke and Mirrors, and then onto Stardust and American Gods. Then I'll just read the entire Sandman series all over again. X3 I want a Del plushie. o.o

Wow, all of my dA windows are suddenly functioning very slowly. @_@

Finally got my résumé redone, so hopefully I can get myself hired at Chapters now. Haven't heard from Matt for over a week, and I wouldn't really mind that much except that he's never disappeared for this long without saying something and I'm worried. ^^; I'm not possessive, honest. >.>

Got an ISU for Philiosophy I'm going to have to get cracking on soon, and an ISU for English as well. I'm doing it on Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey. Absolutely amazing book. Go read it. NOW. My thesis is going to be "whether the pursuit of excessive knowledge is beneficial or detrimental to human well-being". (In other words, is it true that ignorance is truly bliss.) You'll know why I picked that if you've read the book.

Got mostly poetry up lately, since I haven't had much chance or motivation to work on art. Mrr. Also working spasmodically on a short Fruits Basket fic. No reviews yet. T-T :cry:

On the plus side, got a stack of books from the library for visual and historical reference, and I found my Ancient Egptians TLC special tapes. ^^ Granted, Odoriko no Hanshin-sama is set in the first intermediary period (the seventh to tenth dynasties, about 2181 to 2040 BC), and the specials are set in the New Kingdom (eighteenth to twentieth dynasties, about 1567 to 1085 BC), basic clothing, culture, and function remains the same. And they're a big help story-wise.

Also still working on zaphk's art trade . . . about, erm, 15% done? ^^; Still working on preliminary sketches. Loki and Fluffy-sama are a pain to draw even when they're NOT fighting. So much detail . . .

But that's about it for now. So here's to a new semester, and the (hopefully) fast-approaching warm weather. Because I am tired of freezing my butt off.

But really. Oh my god. I busted my ass off writing up a perfect formula sheet, making sure that I didn't forget everything, crammed everything I could fit onto one copier-sized piece of lined paper, made sure I totally outlined all the nuances of the equations I needed the most help with—AND MR. AHMED WOULDN'T LET US USE OUR OWN FORMULA SHEETS. Mr. Kinahan told us, from day one, that we'd be able to use our own formula sheets in the exam, and we could write down everything that we could fit on one side of the page. When we asked Mr. Ahmed if he was going to keep to that, he just said, "we'll see." Didn't hear a WORD about being given one.

I mean, I'm not saying I would have dragged Mr. Kinahan back for this one exam—I mean, for crying out loud, the man's wife died—but dammit, Mr. Ahmed could have at least asked us if we wanted to use our own formula sheets. Hell, he KNEW we wanted to use our own formula sheets. But no, he GAVE us the one HE wrote, which not only used variables we'd never seen nor identified before in our LIVES, but THAT WAS MISSING VITAL EQUATIONS. Like, say, the equation to calculate frictional force? Wasn't there. One of the alternate equations for calculating acceleration with displacement and the second velocity? Wasn't there.

Not only that, the exam had questions on optics, which we didn't even COVER. There were maybe two questions on electrostatics, which is what we just spent the past MONTH working on. There were a ton of questions on waves, which we spent TWO DAYS on, and those two days were spent trying to pull off a mostly unsuccessful lab since we didn't have the proper class equipment.

My programming exam was earlier this morning, and granted, it was easy, but it wasn't as easy as I'd thought it was. I forgot to review my notes on selection sorting and ended up having to use all of the two hours. Which gave me less than an hour to each lunch and cram for my physics.

I swear, if I ever find out whose moronic idea it was to hold an exam at 12 o' clock, right when all your lunch can get packed into a nice, hard, stress-compacted ball in your stomach, I am going to drag them off into the woods and hurt them. Severely.

And now, I have a yearbook CPT to still finish, which is due at the end of tomorrow. I have to finish the résumé for my portfolio, also due at the end of tomorrow. I have to—

*blink blink* Mrs. Morin just offered us popcorn. o.o *hugs her* Man, I just remembered why I luff her so much.

*sighs* Well, there's really no point in stressing over it, since both exams are over and done with. I can just pray I didn't fail. Despite the fact that I didn't answer a good third of the questions . . .

So much for Carleton. What the hell am I going to do if I don't get in?

Rrgh. At least I still have change in my pocket from the lunch money Mom gave me yesterday. I'll stop at Tim Horton's on the way home and buy a large hot chocolate. >.> The miracle cureall drink. X3 Especially in this weather. It's STILL snowing. >.O We're expecting 20 cm. I think we've already gotten more than half of it.

Ah well. Since I won't have anything Friday to Sunday, I can spend that time splurging on Nana's far-too-overdue art trade. ^^; *searches around for more Ragnarok books so I can practice drawing Loki*

Oww . . . I got this plastic retainer in on Monday that I have to wear until I get my braces, and it's got sharp edges and keeps cutting into my tongue and gums. >.O***

At this point all I've got left is backgrounds, which is actually quite a bit because I'm scripting them. o.O I really like how Betrayal came out, Grudge is too streaky, I MUTILATED Love (I even had to change the title to Heartache-!), and Cold is . . . acceptable. Actually, Cold is shiny. I luff my Crayola Gemtone crayons. ^^ :crayola: :crayon: :hug:

Bombed another physics test. Egh. Hopefully I can either get my act together or bs my way through the exam. > .> VisualBasic Programming CPT is flying along, though; I got nearly the whole program done in a day. ^^ It uses three forms and a module, but it was worth it. It's a gallery application that lets you browse through a gallery of 20 thumbnails which you can click on to view the picture full sized with info on artist, medium, etc. You can rotate through the fullviews and vote on which picture you like best. Clicking on the picture takes you to the artist's dA page for that pic. X3 I'm so proud of it. T-T All that's left to do is figure out the code for sorting the pics according to number of votes. I hate sorting RAFs. >.<* (Eh, that's Random Access Files for all you computer illiterate folks.)

So, yeah. Presenting art CPT today, it's STILL freezing otside (it's been hovering around -40º for the past week! The past WEEK!), and I've got this massive photoshoot I have to take for yearbook during BOTH lunches and after school. Egh. Typical day.

There are benefits, though. It is amazingly clear outside. And at Hogsback, you can't even see the waterfalls for the all the fog that's pouring up from it and the bay. XD Well, I needed a photography piece for Cold in my CPT, so now's as good a day as ever. X3 Supposed to go up to 0ºC on Monday and snow. It's been too cold to snow lately . . .

I'm dropping my Aya/Kouga fic (might still make a shortfic, though . . . ) in favour of getting through Odoriko no Hanshin-sama as soon as I can. Got the Papyrus of Ani out, so now all I need is spell formulation and then I can dive into plotlines. ^^

I also decided to drop my portfolio. Well, not entirely. I'm keeping it, but I'm not going to apply for Humanities any more. We get three university applications for $80 with our PIN number, so I'm applying for Religion at Carleton U, Classics at Carleton U, and Medieval History Studies at Ottawa U. Religion is my first choice, naturally. I'm only going to university for fun, not career structuring, so there's no point in paying for a course I won't enjoy.

Also narrowed my CPT total from 16 pieces in two works to eight pieces in two works . . . got the characters done and inked, just need to colour, script, and background them. And get the photography half done. And this is due in two weeks. ^^;

But still, at least I'm cutting down my workload . . . which is good because a) exams are coming up, and b) I'm trying to get through the character design for my new comic idea. ^^0 It's (tentatively) titled "the Masters". That's all I'm saying. ~.^

Yesterday was so much fun! We had a pancake breakfast for all the students who brought in stuff for Toy Mountain, so I got to miss first period (the performances weren't all that bad, either), then we went on a field trip to the National Art Gallery for art class. :D I got to take the digicamera since it was a field trip and we have to cover those for yearbook, and I started another photography series of the gallery. ^_______^ I'm going to make a big series out of this one; it's going to be all this downtown stuff. I'll upload them in a bit. And then I had an ortho appointment so I didn't have to go to fourth period! And I'm almost done my DPSes for yearbook! :D :boogie:

This week - Take the art history test I didn't study for
     - Attempt to catch up in Physics
     - Stay late after school revamping and assembling my two club DPSes for Yearbook (since Dave took forever finishing the bleeding template-!!)
     - Work on making Christmas presents for everyone since I have no job, therefore, no money *moth flies out of wallet*
     - Work on the eight pieces for my art CPT (Longing and Helplessness are the only ones left, so of course they've got the hardest poses for me to do . . . )
     - Work on my pic of Loki and Fluffy-sama swordfighting for zaphk (I'm almost ready to start it, really! ^^; I need more source pics. o.o; )
     - Work on a Dizzy avatar for a friend
     - Finish the IY couples series pics I (sorta) started
     - Work on my portfolio
     - Work on my website (I need to get those Winamp skins up-!)
     - Work on getting my university applications ready
     - Find a way to keep my concentration on actually DOING some of this stuff while my best bud Mandy is over >.>;
     - Hang out at Martin's with the gang for a movie
     - Do an analysis report on the gallery field trip my class is going on on Wednesday
     -Go to the orthodontist. AGAIN.

And throwing a suprise b-day party for Mandy on the 22nd and going to see LOTR 3 on the 23rd. Love (female aspect) - wearing a ring, has ribbons tied around her wrists, a balm flower tied in her hair, and carrying a whip at her hip. Reaching out. No clothing colour decided. Hair is blended black, white, pink, and red, with yellow highlights. Eyes are honey yellow.

Tranquility (male aspect) - green-and-blue shirt and white slacks. Wearing a necklace that's going to have a pendant of either a dove or bowed laurel branches. Hands in pockets, relaxed stance, head tilted towards the sky. Hair is dark brown, eyes are black.

Grudge (male aspect) - dark red hair, brown eyes. Clothing style and colour undecided. No symbolism thought of yet. Feet braced apart, arms folded, looking at viewer.

Betrayal (female aspect) - dark blue hair, steel eyes. Clothing colour undecided. Wearing an evening dress fit for a societal function. No symbolism thought of yet (holding a knife behind her back?). Facing viewer.

Cold (female aspect) - blue skin and metallic spiky hair, eye colour undecided, wearing a draping, delicate gown and wrapped in a comforter. No symbolism thought of yet (scientific snow and storm symbols on the comforter? Holding a white flame?). Almost dance-like pose, cuddling comforter almost mockingly.

Helplessness (male aspect) - white-blonde hair, eye colour undecided. Wearing a choker/collar. Dominantly warm, feverish colours. Clothing style and colours undecided. Hands clenched in fists beside head, on his knees, staring to the side.

Reflection/Meditation (female aspect) - outline only; no colour except for eyes, which are undecided. Wearing a ring on a necklace chain. Jeans and an oversized sweater with a tank top underneath. In a mimic of the lotus position, but hands are resting flat on knees. Facing the viewer. (Sitting in a zen garden?)

Longing (male aspect) - short (curly?), dark hair, eyes undecided. Dominantly desert-ish colours. Tense pose, one hand tightly gripping opposite arm, teeth gritted, shoulders back, staring to the side. Clothing style and colours undecided. Burns was hanging around my house last night. We thought he was a stalker. XD He bought us this massive pack of Timbits! So now I've been on a sugar hangover since this morning.

Got further along on my themed pieces for art class. I have the general poses and colouring for the pieces planned out, and the order from Wallacks should be in tomorrow. I got a 12-tube Oriental watercolour set, two blending pencils, a 24 Laurentian marker set, and 8 sheets of 15" x 20" texture 79 illustration board. And I found some earth toned contés in Mrs. Wharton's back room that she said I could use. :) I'm doing Love in coloured pencil, Tranquility in acrylic, Grudge in marker, Cold in crayon, Helplessness in chalk pastel, Reflection in conté, Longing in watercolour, and I dunno what Betrayal's going to be done with. o.o; I was thinking graphite but I really want colour. Maybe oil pastels? I also have photo sets planned for Tranquility and Cold already. Go me. I'll probably pick the scene for Love to involve Christmas morning somehow. ^^;

The hardest part is trying to come up with a bit of symbolism for each piece. Mrr. >.> The most I have so far are for Love. Go fig. There just isn't enough symbolism on some of these things. ~.~

I have a feeling I'm going to have a lot of fun with this project, and hopefully the finished pieces will turn out better than the original idea. What's more, these are just eight concepts—I have a whole list of words I'm planning to personify at some time or another in the future. We're not wanting for abstract concepts, and if I'm lucky I'll keep making these things til I die old and rich. ^-^ Okay, maybe just the old and dead part. But I really would like to continue making these even after I'm finished the eight for my portfolio, and if anyone would like to commission me for some after January or so (when I'm done angsting over university applications ^^; ) I'd be delighted to make them.

Moving on, we're starting our final pair of works for art class. We had to pick a common theme and they have to go in our portfolio. My theme is the personification of abstract concepts, like love, anxiety, power, sound . . . I'm going to paint/draw/crayon/charcoal/whatever these concepts as actual people. ^-^ I was really inspired by Amanda Francis' Syphon's Myth series. That woman's talent blows my mind away. And I think she's younger than I am. o.o;

Found the written pieces for Wavewalker and Daydream. I'll put them up as soon as I've retyped them.

News: Really, I joined this place because a) my friends have been driving me nuts over it, and b) I'm keeping both my portfolio and my main website on the same server, and there's no way I have enough space to keep all the pictures in the same place (I'm at 47 out of 50 MB o.o;; ). So I'm moving my artwork to DA and linking it from my portfolio, because that's just so much easier. ^^;;

Also started a computer abstinence lately, barring portfolio and DA updates. We'll have to see how long it lasts. >.>;;; ]]> ~halflingrogue
