A lil' late, but Halo 3: ODST has dropped into stores
And to those who pre-ordered the game, enjoy the bad ass-ery of Sgt. Johnson.
I meant to put this up sooner, but I had a celebratory comic planned, which is now delayed because the friend who was supposed to help lost his Halo 3 disc.
I'll try to get it done soon.

So anyway... fight through New Mombasa in either the campaign mode or in the awesome Firefight mode. Play, play to your heart's content... until Halo: Reach come out.
(Remember to keep those discs handy to get into the beta)

Also to some, be warned. There's been reports of disc read errors.

And remember fellow Halo fans. Halo Waypoint is launching in a few more weeks (rumored to be sometime in November) along with Halo Legends (as an anime junkie, I'm excited).

Since Microsoft believes that the so-called expansion feels more like a full fledge game. The retail price for the game will be $60, there will also be a Collector's Edition for $100.

As a pre-order incentive. Players who reserve and/or order their copy in advance, will get exclusive DLC in the form of our favorite bad ass marine sergeant, Sgt. Avery Johnson.
The DLC allows you to play as Sgt. Johnson in the game's Firefight mode.
For those who think Johnson's bad ass-ery warrants his own game, this may be the closest thing you'll get (for now).

Remember. Halo 3: ODST deploys and drops into stores September 22, 2009.

Sorry for not updating, RL keeps you busy and all.

Ok... For those who were living under a rock.
- Even though it's been utterly defeated in every category it was nominated for, Halo 3 managed to snag G-Phoria's 2008 Game of the Year.
- Bungie will have a converter tool that'll render your film clips into video files so you can post it on youtube or something like it. It's in beta testing right now, so anyone who just bought a video capture card; return it now.

Now onto recent news...
Right now, E3 is happening. And Microsoft has shown their stuff.
And Halo 3: ODST is among the stuff shown, with gameplay footage and all.
As any true fan knows by now, the game will center on the ODST troops between Halo 2 and Halo 3, and you play as various individuals throughout the game.
Also a new Halo game is announced, Halo Reach. Not much is revealed about Halo Reach other than the cinematic trailer used to announce it. But it's shipping next year.

Halo 3: ODST will feature:
- Open world exploration
- The return of the Halo: CE pistol
- A co-op mode called 'Firefight', which is the Halo version of Gears of War 2's Horde mode
- A 2nd disc with all the maps from the Heroic, Legenday, and Mythic packs; along with 3 new maps for Halo 3 multiplayer (Citadel, Heretic, & Longshore)
- A beta key for Halo Reach

Halo 3: ODST will drop into stores on September 22 2009.

Also a personal note.
I know it's been awhile and should've said this sooner... but I will no longer be making the Halo Kitties comics. I appreciate the praises, but the process is just too consuming of time, energy, and computer power. But don't despair, I will still bring on the funny Halo comics, using screenshots from Halo 3's theatre mode. And I might need help in the future making these comics, so I'll be sure to post whenever I need it.

THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT AND EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW!!!
There is a harmful file going around. It causes your X-Box 360 to freeze and [in some cases, I hear] get RROD (Red Ring of Death). It comes in the form of some stranger wanting you to see a screenshot they took. The source has been stopped, but the file has been already downloaded (and no doubt, put to use) already.
So if you get such a message from someone you don't know; For your 360's sake... DON'T OPEN IT, AND DELETE IT ASAP!!!

2) Got an awesome video of Uber Pwnage but no video capture card?
No X-Box 360 to play it on?
Don't want to use a camcorder to record?

They can convert your film clips and post it on the net for all to see. You'll have to sign up for an account, but doing that and the services they provide are free.
Just be sure the video is in your Fileshare and to provide the proper info when uploading.

3) In order to boost activities even further. I've been thinking about starting a Features Section for Forge, Custom Games, Machinema, etc. There's stuff out there that deserves attention, and this Features Section aims to do that. Might be monthly, bi-weekly, haven't decided on that time gap yet.

What's the results?

- $170 Million on the first day
- $300 Million after the first week
- The game even grabed the #1 spot on Japan's charts for a week after release in the country. (I mean, Japan, that's an accomplishment there).
- October 2007 box office movie sales suffered, studios blame Halo 3 for this

This place could use a lil' update, don't we all agree? Anyway, I'm updating with news about Halo 3
(to be released 9/25/07).
I'm sure some of you know these already, but if you've been under a rock, this update's for you.

1) Halo 3 will feature on-line 4-player Co-Op play. Yes, that's right: 4 Players. However, all players won't be playing as 4 different Master Chief's. 1 Player plays the Chief, another plays the Arbiter, and the remaining 2 plays as Misc. Elites. So please, settle on who's who and who gets which seat in the Warthog.

2) Though not official and subject to change, here's a list of the Achievements for Halo 3 [link]

3) Lots of big name companies are hopping onto the the promotional band wagon.
- Burger King is going to have a Halo 3 theme combo meal.
- 7-Eleven is going to sell copies of Halo 3,
- Mountain Dew has a new flavor in a Halo 3 theme bottle,
- Mcfarlene Toy's will be making Halo 3 action figures

4) Tired of those kids and noobs talking smack and making up excuses on how you were able to kill them so easily? Well, Bungie has added a feature that'll mute them. Not sure how it'll work... but I'm sure we'll be thankful for the function.

5) Following the fashion of the Burnout racing games. You can record the kills you made in multiplayer and post them online for others to see.

Gamespot has also set up a special Halo 3 section in anticipation of the release. [link]

And most importantly... Remember that there are 3 versions of this game available at retail.

- Regular ($60): Just the game itself
- Limited ($100): The game w/ a 2nd disc containing bonus materials
- Legendary ($130): The game w/ bonus materials on multiple discs & a small model of Master Chief's helmet w/ stand.

So if you haven't got the cash ready, better start now.

I'm sorry, my friends, but I'm getting a tad tired of walking into here and finding these favorites on club pieces... where it states clearly to favorite the original piece.

To anyone who does go to fav those pieces, click the link we give in the comments. Don't fav and run. Faving and running in a club may result in someone being reported for art theft and get this entire club banned. I'm going to start coming and PERSONALLY dropping this bomb on your heads if you fav club pieces (the piece itself loaded to the club, not artist original).

Thank you.

What does this mean?
This means anyone who faves a club piece will be rudely woken to this via my flooding their inbox. No one wants that. I don't think it's too drastic for the appropriate artists to get credit... not for the club to get the credit at that artist's expense.

What if someone does fave a club piece?
I'll personally visit their webpage under my actual account, and either leave them a message on their user page or note them, telling them to give the appropriate person credit.

What if someone ignores that warning?
We'll see what it'd take to get admin to step in. As a club, we can't have some ninny going and faving a piece, then someone else reporting us for "art theft" where 100% of the works on this club are used with permission. (Check HaloCrew for details on this - the founder is banned, the club is dead.)

In *Sharkfold's words, "We mainly focus on the Xbox 360, however there are/will be shortly areas to discuss all other consoles and their games, and as time goes on their places will get bigger. We also have lots of things to do here, and we even allow for online gamers to arrange matches."

In the future, if anyone feels like I've been neglecting my duties, please send me a note to my personal account: [link] You see, I am a forgetful person, and sometimes I just need to be reminded to do something like check the club's messages and such.

So the club's first contest has ended, and everything is back to normal. Or, as normal as it can be reasonably expected to get. I think I will launch a new club activity sometime around Christmas, so not too far from now. If anyone has any ideas, please leave them in a comment!

If you sent something to the club for submission and it hasn't gone up yet, it will soon. I plan to go on a submission spree and put them up a few at a time over a period of a few days. (Don't worry, there are only 7-10 or so. Your inboxes won't get that scary.)

There have been some great ideas presented; I'll post them here for about a week or so to give people a final opportunity to make any suggestions before a theme is chosen. Then we'll fix a prize and a deadline, and we're off!

- Do a piece of art of a Halo character (Master Chief, Cortana, Capt. Keyes, etc.) or a Halo troop/enemy (Marine, Grunt, Jackal, etc.)

- Create a piece of art in the theme of new armor and/or a new character that would go well in Halo

- Make a design for a new Halo game, it can be in any form...written, script, drawing, etc.

- A Red vs. Blue reference in any style

- Invent a new enemy, like a new race, and display 4 different soldiers for this army.

- Depict the female versions of the four levels of Covenant society

Prize suggestions:

- Take the top 3 or so and make a new slideshow avatar for the club

- Instant rank advancement for the winner

For Covies, it's Grunt - Jackal - Elite - Hunter

Yes, this club is now under new management. ~flying-flapjack is replacing ~invaderjulie as President of the club, and ~darkphoenix7 will be his secretary. The Vice President has yet to be decided upon.

I admit, this is the first club I have ever tried my hand at running. I will do my best, but I cannot promise anything spectacular. Please tell me if there's something I could be doing better.
