well it would seem that most people use favorites for themselves. i've always thought of favorites as an outlet for myself to pimp other artists and artworks that i like. but i guess most people just use it as a way to remember art themselves. go figure.
i still don't like people that fav tons and tons of things. i just don't like that at all.some people think that i should just be grateful, and maybe if i was hurting for favs i should be, but i'm not, and so i can afford to be picky. i really don't appreciate getting faved by people who have accounts with nothing but favs in them, especially if their favs are on random. i like to go to people's site and see their art, not someone else's.

so i guess it all comes down to my situation. when i go to someone else's page i don't care about their favs, i just want to see their art, and when people come to mine, i want them to see the stuff i'm currently digging.

end of beef

you guys and your yellow crusade are messing with my time table

really, i mean come on. i'd love to join in your little protest, but I GOT ART TO SHOW. and now everyone's leaving and taking down galleries, and goddammit, all you're gonna do is make the site go bye bye. if you think anything, short of the legal battle currently happening, is going to change spyed's modus operandi, you are deceiving yourself.

the only thing you could possibly do is make him think this site is no longer profitable (or worse yet, a monetary loss) and he would remove or reduce the site. HEY THAT SOUNDS FUN, DON'T IT? preservation through destruction? well guess what, that sucks. like i said, i still got art to show, and there IS a legal battle happening. so until that goes through, STOP YOUR PROTESTING. protesting does nothing except raise awareness to START legal proceedings (or to incite riots). when the legal proceedings are already underway, all you're doing is mucking it up for everyone else.

and another thing, "showing your support" when you know nothing but hearsay about a topic is pretty dumb (and really, the only way to show support is monetarily). and, dare i say, sheep-like. and yes, i've read all the literature. and most of it is just jark's letter, because everything else is COMPLETELY HEARSAY. and tho jark seems like a nice enough guy, all i've heard is his side of the story, because he's trying to rally an army, while spyed is clearly keeping calm and going through the legal circuit. i don't know who did what. neither do you. YOU DONT KNOW!

anyways.

what was i saying? oh yeah. i got art to show, and no amount of "we can use your art on our site" is going to make me take down my gallery. have any of you even READ a legal document before?

sometimes it's ok to just give in and go with the flow.

i finally bought a daprints account. i didn't realize that it was only a one time fee, and i couldn't justify paying 25 dollars every month. now i'm kicking myself for not having done it sooner. curtis was all on me today. he was all 'you should get a daprints account' an i was like 'YOU should get me a daprints account' an he was all 'WHORE!' an i was all 'BITCH!'... it went on like that for awhile until he explained it was so cheap, and no excuse to not do it. so i did it.

the thing about writing your own web software... is that when you have your own homepage and journal, with scripts that you wrote yourself... you really don't feel like using someone ELSE'S journal stuff. so i rarely write anything here, or at any of the hundreds of community sites of signed up for. not the least of which is because i don't really journal that often anyways. it's mostly just for major updates and such. my life isn't fascinating enough for constant dialogue.

anyways, also i don't really see most of my stuff as printable. maybe 3 pictures in my entire repertoire can i consider wallworthy. i dunno, maybe i'm too picky, but i doubt it. i like to think i'm realistic.

oh well. hopefully now i'll make millions of bucks off my prints account

i suggest all the new artists out there go to this [link] and check out my newest revision to my artistic contract.

i have been screwed over by so many people at this point. even people i consider to be friends. people that don't pay at all. people that send money as a gift, and then expect a drawing. people that ask for way too much in their drawing, or people that say they're not happy with a drawing and then expect me to start over.

well i took one too many hits today. and decided to make a new revised contract. having a document like this on your site ensures many things. but most of all, it means you'll never have to haggle over a price, or feel bad about charging someone. you send someone to your price page, and if they still want to buy, good deal, and if not, no skin off anyone's noses. but a contract like this also puts all the power in the artist's hands.

the person copying a piece of text from that page, and then mailing it to you, is, in essence, the same as signing a dated, legal, document. they have access to all the prices up front. they have access to all the information needed, and if they don't read it, it is because they CHOSE not to read the fine print.

if someone asks me in an email how to get a drawing done, i don't explain it to them, i simply send them to the page. i also always get paid half or all in advance. so that even if the person doesn't end up paying the final installment, at least i got SOMETHING. a page like that takes all the guesswork out of an artist's e-commerce. and i highly suggest everyone else look into making one. or feel free to use my basic contract, it's all html. just copy the source for that section of the page.

never let someone else take the advantage from you.

i'm still kind of in awe. it hasn't told me who bought it, but i can't believe someone did. hey, let's try this again. anyone wanna buy some of my marilyn wishes for me? [link] heh heh. make a birthday boy's wish come true. hee hee. wheee. i'm on gift overload. anyways. yeah. w00t.

well folks. it's almost that time. what time you say? party time.

in nigh but less than 2 months, yours truly will have reached the tender age of 21. able to do all the things i never wanted to. it's exciting. it's exhilerating. i'll probably spend it indoors. all by myself. *sigh* oh well. but maybe you could help me out. see here's the deal. (and yes, this is me being shameless) my birthday is august 9th. [link] has stated that lord of the rings: fellowship of the ring, will ship out on august 6th. that means if one of you kind souls wants to do a brother a favor, and get this boy the birthday gift he truly wants, then you too can make a wish come true. why, it's almost like the make a wish foundation, except without having to worry about a bunch of kids that're gonna die before they even get to see the movie.

yes, this has been hamilton's lowest moment. if you wish to make hamilton's birthday wish come true, scroll down here [link] til ya see lord of the rings, and then click and buy. and of course... if you get there and it's already gone, then god almighty, have no fear of hell, for it has surely frozen over. cuz no i don't have tits, and i won't sex you for buying me something on my wishlist. but maybe we can work out a little drawing.

thanks all for the kind words. i appreciate them all, even if i don't have time to answer them all.

welp, basically took a week off of drawing to do some programming. i decided to write myself a php weblog utility. finally got it finished yesterday. it's got lots of fun things on it, and best of all, you only need php to run it, not mySQL.

... k, so that's not necessarily a plus. but it is nice that i was able to do the whole thing with arrays and text files. it's even got a commenting system. wheee. it's even multi-user, and it's actually getting a testrun on that cabability right now, since my sister is using it with 18 of her friends. yikes. sh'es going to san francisco and wanted an online journal so i set one up for her. cuz that's what little brothers are for. and no matter what i do, i'll always be my sister's little brother. and somehow... that's comforting.

[link]

check me out some time. and if you like my 3d stuff, i have a whole gallery of development pics for that. wheeee.
have fun all.

w00t. been working hard on this 3d guy. i just uploaded the day's updates for everyone to see on my site.

[link]

i don't wanna upload em all here, seems like a bit of a waste. i really love doin 3d. it gives me great joy. i'm actually somewhat amazed at how good i'm getting at it. my first few models i did months ago, and they were shitty as all hell. but i'm really liking this one so far. i can't wait til he's done and i can animate. agh. it's killin me, knowing that it's just around the corner. can't wait. can't wait. MUST ANIMATE!!!

love it. love it. i could totally see doing this for a living. though so far it's been pretty long nights getting to where i am.

it's also a kind of neat prospect that now whenever i start drawing something and i can't think of how a pose should look... i've got my own model with studio lights and everything. wheeee. oh the possibilities.
