Horseback riding is going so, so , so good lately. I'm kind of one of those people who doesn't get something right away, but once I get it, I really get it. I guess that's what is happening with horseback riding lately. Either that or the horses are being good for me, ha.

I LOVE this time of year. I do celebrate Christmas, so I get the tree and put up all the decorations and whatnot, which I like a lot. We also have well over a foot of snow and more coming tonight right now. Hopefully I will have a snowday tomorrow so that I only have 1 day of school this week. My Chiristmas list is pretty boring this year but I am still excited. I'm getting a pair of half chaps with a matching saddle pad, some expensive thickening shampoo (weird, I know, but I hate having thin hair), MySims Kingdom for Wii, and some other stuff.

So I probably won't be on again for a while. haha

I went riding on Friday and my sister got some videos. I might get a Youtube account and post them. I rode Whitt, a 29 year old Dutch Warmblood who used to be a Grand Prix jumper. You would never know he was as old as he is once you ride him though.

So anywaaaays.. I wanted to ride outside because Friday evening was beautiful. Whitt was perkier which was probably from being outside, and because he hadn't been ridden that day (the horses get Fridays and Sundays off). My sister handed me a crop after a little bit because he wouldn't trot for me. He knew I had the crop so he picked up the pace a little. I decided to ask for a canter because that helps him really get going, so I did and after a few tries I managed to keep my heels in a good position so I could get him to canter rather than trot faster. (I have trouble keeping my heels down when I pull my outside leg back). My instructor almost always encourages him to canter at lessons because he is picky on how you ask him, but I got him to do as I asked without my instructors help. He cantered beautifully, picked up the correct lead, and departed smoothly for me too. And instead of a few steps he almost went a whole lap. I let him walk for a lap after that, then I asked for a trot, then right away I had him pick up a canter. He did amazing and cantered for over a lap, which is extremely good for him. I wanted to keep going but I slowed him down and cooled him off because I had to leave soon.

After untacking him I brought him into the indoor arena so he could cool off some more, and to expreiment I let go off the lead rope and slung it over his back to see if he would follow me. He followed me wherever I went. It was so cute.

Today or tomorrow I will be picking out some new breeches (my current ones are black and I wanted beige ones, plus my black ones have a tiny hole in them).

But yeah, I'm so happy from riding on Friday. It was amazing.

As far as school goes, my grades are all 90+ as far as I know. I'm proud of myself because I'm in higher level english class, biology, and geometry.

I'm thrilled that the weather is cooling down, fall is such an amazing time because the weather is awesome. It's nice and cool, but not uncomfortable.

If you told me one year ago that I would be riding twice a week and working at the barn, I would think you were crazy. But it's true. Not only am I taking lessons once a week and working on Saturdays, but now I can ride on Fridays after school in exchange for working. It won't be a lesson, but I do get to ride, which is beyond awesome. This Friday I want to ride in the outdoor ring for the first time. (My instructor does lessons in the indoor because she owns the barn, so that means she will be able to help people and keep an eye on things and whatnot). Horseback riding is good in general as well. I started out riding Whitt, then Speedy (but he's lame at the moment), I rode an adorable Paint with an amazing trot named Jasper a couple weeks ago, then this past week I rode another Paint named Carbon Copy (Carbon). Here's information on all of them 'cause I love to talk horse.

Whitt:
Age-28
Breed- Dutch Warmblood
Color- Dark Bay with blaze and sock
Personality- Very easy to trust, he's amazing. He's super difficult to get to trot, but sometimes if you ask for a canter from a walk he will trot for you. You just to get him going and he'll go. And what's extremely insane is that he used to be a Grand Prix jumper. It's crazy, I tell you. haha

Speedy
Age- 25-26 (I'm not completely sure)
Breed- I'm guessing he's a Thoroughbred
Color- Fleabitten gray
Personality- He's very stubborn and he's used to small and helpless riders on his back. Once you get the point across to him he will begin to act like he's listening. lol. He's got a nice canter. He's an old man, and he recently fell in his stall and hurt his foreleg. Right now he is lame. He's a funny sweetheart though. And he used to be a racehorse, and he won too. o.o

Jasper
Age- No clue. He's graying around his eyes though.
Breed- He's a pony, but I am not sure what breed. He may be an APH.
Color- Brown and white skewbald paint
Personality- He tries to not listen at first, but after you get him trotting he's really nice to ride. His trot is super perfect for a pony. It's got a nice rhythm. He's also a western horse.

Carbon Copy
Age- No clue
Breed- Maybe an APH
Color- Brown and white skewbald paint
Personality- He's awesome to ride, you don't have to worry about asking him to move forward, turn, or anything. He's "well educated" and is therefore a lot of fun to ride. His canter is probably the best I've personally ever ridden. Although he goes way too fast at the trot after cantering. (and he won't slow down lol)

I love all of these horses. They have taught me so much so far.

I am so pumped to learn how to jump. The only setback would probably be my leg position, especially on smaller horses. Maybe it's my stirrup length or something too. IDK. I will experiment. But I sit like I am on a chair. I have a feeling that jumping is in my future though, because I have been doing a lot of work in two-point position. I can NOT wait. And my canter is so much better too.

I will be 14 on Sunday. It's my biiiirthdaaaay. (: I don't have any huge plans besides a party next weekend.

Horseback riding is beyond amazingg. I have been cantering lately which is fun. My main problem is keeping my heels down which results in practically losing my stirrups. x.x Other than that i have sat a very solid seat a couple of times at the canter. I have also begun working at the barn on weekends. It involves turning out the horses, mucking out the stalls, feeding them, etc. I honestly enjoy it because I am thrilled to be learning more about horse care.

This is really short lol. I don't feel like writing any more.

Summer is going good, even though next week is my last week. So basically I only have a week and a half left until I am officially a freshman. (:

Horseback riding is going awesome. I had no idea how much work my rising trot needed. (My old instructor sucked) I would be cantering again if I could get a better seat at the sitting trot. I get very tensed up in my hips which makes me go all over the place. So does anyone have advice for the sitting trot????

So who has been watching the Olympics? I've watched as much Equestrian as I can. It is so incredible to watch. Like today I watched the competition for individual medals. The horses and riders are so agile. I love watching it. And by the way, I am pretty sure a USA rider got bronze, too.

Annnnnnd the last I saw, USA softball was undefeated! Their game against China a few days ago was over in 5 innings with a score of 9-0. My favorite player is none other than Jennie Finch. She's my idol. I love her pitching.

AND OMG WHO IS READING OR HAS READ BREAKING DAWN? I have around 50 pages left. It is so AMAZING. I LOVE it. The Twilight series is freaking incredible. And who is going to see the Twilight movie in December? I am definately going on opening night.

The softball season is all over. So I have, like, nothing to do anymore it feels like. I am a little relieved though. Now I don't have to worry about my pitching as much anymore.

Right now I'm working on a big project on Photoshop. I love how it's looking so far. Plus it's something different from me. So I hope you guys won't mind a pause from Deviations from me. ^_^

I finally found a barn that is way closer, has better horses, and the instructor is so much more experianced. I picked up so many bad habits from my other instructor that I had no idea about. I'm amazed at how much taking off 6 weeks from riding can do to you. I can barely trot anymore. The horse i rode was 26 years old (he was ollllllld). Yet he was still goin'. He was really big and wide, which I'm not at all used to. I'm very happy with this new barn though.

On Friday I went to the Stuart Horse Trials. It was amazing! I have never been to anything like this before, so I was amazed at the horses and riders. The horses were absolutely beautiful. They were so incredible. The riders were extremely good as well. I watched Stadium (show) Jumping and Dressage. If I come back next year I will come back on a day with Cross Country going on as well. I got a ton of shots that I'm plesed with. I'll be putting them up on my photography account ~bumblebeexo later today.

so basically, there was a woman we found who has her own small barn and riding arena. this woman teaches some pretty advanced and talented riders. i could have gone for an evaluation to see if i was good enough to ride there, or find out i need to work on some things. i decided that i would keep riding and taking regular lessons instead because i wanted something to work towards (working with this woman).

so after we checked her out, we drove down to another small barn that i have never been to because we have issues contacting the woman who owns it. we drove down and it turned out perfect. next tuesday i will be taking a private lesson with her to see what group i should ride in. im extremely excited because this barn is much, much closer and the barn seems nicer all around. i can also lease a horse there, which i will definately do later on.

also next week the cosequin stuart horse trials will be going on. i will most likely be going on friday to watch the stadium jumping. i will definately bring my nikon d80 to get some pretty nice pictures. im super excited because these trials are huge and i have never had an oppurtunity like this to photograph and watch.

so as you can see this is turning out pretty good. im pumped for next week! check out my photography account next week for pictures from it too! ~bumblebeexo

so anyways, now for some interesting stuff 'cause this journal would be boring with just a quiz. (: i haven't been riding in 3 weeks, and probably not again for a long time due to the fact that i have softball on saturdays during my lessons now. but i am going to riding camp this summer, which will make up for everything. and yeah, thats what is making this situation a whole lot easier to get through.

i have 2 weeks of school left after this week is over!! i cant wait for summer vacation! i am pumped for 2 months of freedom.

and i haven't drawn in a while because i have been busy with softball and getting ready for finals and stuff like that. i just dont have the time lately.

and the end of this week is going to be 90 degrees! im going to go swimming with my friends and deff going to get a nice tan cause im white as a cloud. bahaha

well anywaaaaayss....

i haven't been very active here, no, but i have been online to check deviation and journals and such.

it's mainly because i have barely had time to even take a shower and do homework each night lately. but i have a 4 day weekend coming so, all is well. annnnnnnd i have a new policy that i have decided on:

i will only draw a request for atleast a month's worth of subscription (depending on the request) BUT i will rarely take requests without a subby still. but it will be RARE. i will also take trades still occasionally.

also, if you have already asked for a request, don't worry, you don't need to buy a subscription. haha

so yeah, i have never had a subscription before and i can't take commission so this is the best method for me at the moment.

in other words...

horseback riding is fine. i might be going to riding camp again this summer if i can convince my dad to let me go again. (:

tonight i pitched an inning in my softball game and i got the first girl out with only 3 pitches, the second girl with 4 pitches, and the third girl with 2 (she hit a fowl that the first baseman caught). and i got a triple too. sadly, i only got to play half the game, and pitch one inning (the girl that pitched for a couple innings before me was having a bad night so he put me in for her in the third inning). so yeah, i'm very happyyyyy. (:

i haven't drawn in what feels like years, so i might draw something up tonight possibly.

A couple weeks ago I went to NYC. Very cool place, I must say. (;

Softball has been good. I've gotten 2 doubles and a triple in our past 2 games. My pitching isn't at it's best lately though. I almost don't even enjoy pitching that much anymore. But we won both games anyways. (:

I've missed 3 weeks of riding because of being in NYC, and softball pitching lessons. But I will be going this week no matter what. (:

As for my art, I've gotten into drawing people. I never thought I was much of a "people drawer" but I have proved myself wrong. So I have a new drawing to show you guys soon!

In a couple weeks I will be going to Washington DC for a week with my school because I'm in 8th grade and that's where we get to go. I'll get to spend the whole week with the most amazing friends I could ever have with our own hotel room. We're going shopping soon for some matching shorts and stuff like that to wear there. I can't wait! We'll stay up all night watching MTV and running taking showers at 3 in the morning and random stuff like that. (:

There's a horse show coming up. I can enter if I want to for the walk-trot classes, but I'm not sure yet. It might be too soon, but then again I might be good enough to do well.

So today I rode a mare named Jazzmine. I had never ridden her before so I wasn't sure what to expect.

I nervously began my trot, and found out how comfy and calm she was. She was also fairly slow (which was just what I needed). It was almost as if she knew that I needed that one special ride in which I was completely comfortable; and she provided it.

So my riding was awesome again. And the best part was that I was having fun too!

I CANTERED too. I am so proud of myself!! I was kinda.. bad. I sat up far in the saddle, actually, I was standing too far up in the saddle.

I almost lost my balance 'cause of my bad posture, but it was fun all in all.

Thanks for your support everyone! Your comments inspired me to get back on a horse in general.

I'm so happy. Like, I knew how much I loved riding before, and now that I got that love back I'm so freaking happy!

Plus the softball season is gonna start at the end of the month!

Sadly, it doesn't feel like Spring yet. But, it's still winter technically until Thursday. So maybe it'll get better later on.

And I really can't wait to get to ride outside. By then I might get to canter and jump... OUTSIDE. No more indoor arena! Yay!

But who knows when the weather will be good enough for that. It might be June haha.

We still have some snow on the ground, but it's almost gone. And we're getting a lot of rain today. Sadly, the forecast says that we're getting snow this week.

Ugh.

In other news, I couldn't go to riding this week because i had to babysit. But I needed a week off anyways. I'm still uneasy after being bucked off.

I literally search for inspiration of other riders who fell off and got back on.

So I have been working on saving up for the following:

1. Pink half chaps $30

2. "My Horse And Me" for Wii $50

3. Riding Helmet $25

My dad said he would try to figure out some ways that I could help around the house to earn extra money. Plus, I get $10 a week for my allowance.

But that's not the dilemma. I'm still debating on what I should get first. I really want the half chaps, so those will be first no matter what. But IDK whether the game or the helmet is more in my interest.

Also, if anyone knows of some good places to shop for rider apparel, please tell. I have been searching random places through Google, and I've found some good deals on a few sites. But, I'm always open for new online places to shop!

Oh yeah, and today I bought pink riding gloves! They're light pink and will be much better than my grandma's old, cheap leather gloves.

It was kind of cool in a demented way. You should see the scratches and such that I have now. And it hurts like hell to walk. I just took some pain stuff, and it feels much better.

And I also might work there so I can ride for free. I still have to learn more about it, but I should be able to.

I have to get ready for riding in 10 minutes lol. My sister wants to come to help tack up whatever horse I'm riding. Oh joy. *saracasm* But she's 11 years old, so I guess it's okay if she comes once and a while. Although I don't like it when she comes.

My February break is coming to a close. I don't want it to, but ah well. I don't have any test coming up so the week won't be that bad. And on Wednesday there's a softball meeting about this year's tryouts and such. So I'm very excited about it.

First of all, I'm on February break for this whole week, so I'll have a lot of time to draw.

Unfortunately, I have a cold. It's gotten better, since I finally have recovered from staying up until 5 am on Friday night with my friends. haha

I have also improved a lot on my riding. My posting trot is VERY good. I just can't do a good sitting trot. My instructor tells me to "relax my hips", but how am I supposed to do that? If anyone has some tips i'm glad to listen! Because I think the sitting trot is the last thing I need to perfect before I begin cantering and jumping. And I really want to get into jumping and all that fun stuff.

I'm finally deciding to straighten out my characters and plan a plot for their world. Firstly, I haven't researched Colorado much, but as of today, they have wild horses roaming around. Secondly, I know I don't have many characters yet, but I will be building on to them until I have large herds with their own characteristics. So here they are:

My current camera is really not good enough for actual photography stuff. It's zoom is terrible, and it isn't good at getting good lighting or focus. So I'm looking for a new camera. It's far too late to get one for Christmas, but my dad said I could get one later on in the year if I stay interested.

So I've been looking at some cameras. Nikon cameras are very nice. I don't like Kodak or Canon that much, but I'm always up for suggestions!

Oh, and the horse I ride there is a sweet bay with 4 white pasterns. His name is Strawberry and he's a tad bit grouchy when you tighten the girth, but he is very sweet the rest of the time.

Yeah.. so any camera suggestions?

So if you want to request for a trade or collab or just a regular request, I'm open!! I usually take at most a week to start on something, and from then on it takes only a day or two to finish something up. For example, with Wishe's trade I sketched out probably 4 different ideas until I finally found something I liked. After that, the coloring and background took about 4 hours. Including lineart, it probably takes me 5 or 6 hours to finish something digital. Traditional is a piece o' cake.

And I'm quite jumpy lately. The tiniest sounds creep me out at night. And I have a severe fear of ghosts o_O I've gone through nights when I'm jumpy before. It's kind of a phase I guess. But it happens rarely. And it's getting better.

I like drawing, 'specially horses. I absolutly love drawing Spirit-style horses. I've gotten better over the past 2 months.

Hmm.. I'm in 8th grade, so I'm one of the younger Spirit-style artists. lol

I'm 13 in a couple weeks! I'm getting Photoshop and a Wacom tablet, which is very exciting.

My favorite food is bananas :] Bananas are good.
