As you may or may not know I am now an honest and for true Art Major and the university place. I imagine I'll post a selection of the work I've been doing after the quarter ends, although there's really nothing too terribly impressive as of yet. But I have a few peices I put more of myself into, I'm proud of those.

I am stuck on my final for drawing right now. I had a burst of creativity right before it was assigned, and I came up with a very rad idea for a painting. That idea is becoming problematic now, it's really all I can think about, and I cant seem to translate any of it's elements into the assignment that I have to work with. Frustrating.

This is my 4th blog this year. I would probably be more popular if people though there was a real live person uploading pictures of things and people. You know, give hot-soup a personality. I should really try to do that.

The Fountain was a fantastic film. Now, if you're reading this, you probably know that I am a complete drooling fan-boy for Darren Aronofsky. He directed Ï and Requiem for a Dream, which are also awesome. It is a completely awesome story, although you can tell that he had more ambition than money in the product. I require a second viewing of it.

Inspired by how totally bad ass the upcoming movie looks; I picked up a copy of A Scanner Darkly by Phillip K Dick (the dude who wrote Blade Runner). So far it's pretty cool, I'm really digging the hallucinations and paranoia. Really excited about the release of the film, the way it's shot and edited looks all kinds of awesome.

I'm pleased to report that I got accepted into Pratt and Western. I responded to Western this month, got my deposit in and everything. Pretty excited (Perhaps stoked is the word) about going off to university in the fall now, the idea is starting to become more real to me. I'm still really pleased that I got the accept from Pratt, even if I can't afford four years in an art school, it's a great pat on the back for me. Right now I'm planning on transferring to a more art-focused school after I complete my first year at WWU. Now I just need a roommate to creep out... maybe they'll set me up with another art major. I think that would be fun. Those people that I know, ~BornToBeReborn and ~maiamaiam are also going to be attending. And I think I'll know one other art major from spscc when we go up to the bellingham. Awesome, eh?

Working on a real live painting right now. Well, it's a sketch on a canvas now. But it should be cool when I'm done. For some reason I decided that a man in a suit would be a good thing to base it around. I cannot draw that. We'll see how that turns out. Meh, even if the result is not so great the painting itself is always enjoyable.

It's oficial: ~BornToBeReborn and I kick ass. We received our Gold medals for winning state-level web design yesterday, following the correction of a judging snafu which claimed we did, in fact, not kick ass. So were off to nationals in June, just after finals. That's in Missouri. Where ever the hell that is.

We kicked out a totally new design last Saturday, I'm totally proud of it. It reflects us more as a business, cleaner, more professional. Also matches our business cards

~BornToBeReborn decided that ~doomed-soul and myself are having a beard-off this week. I can't shave untill thursday. This thing is totemo itchey.

In three to five business days I shall be getting my very own tablet thingy, I am very pleased with this. I do so enjoy having gadgets to piss around with, and artsy gadgets are of particular interest. Why am I getting such a nifty little bugger? Because it is my birthday, I am t3h 18xorz today! So, of course, now I feel inclined to so some things which I was previously unable to do. The problem is I really care for the smell of cigarette smoke, and I can think of better stuff to spent my money on than porn. I am more keen on the idea of checking out the hookah bar thing in olympia, provided the hookah-ing age is the same smoking age, and that smoking ban thing didn't close them down. That would be a bummer.

I'm bidding on a ps2 right now on the ebay. I have such for a good rpg right now, and the playstation thingy would seem the rpgiest of them all. The plan was to wait for the ps3 to come out and snatch up one of the ps2's that get tossed in favor of the newer, more banana-conrtolled version. But I'm cool with paying more for quicker gratification. So now, I keep twitching and clicking refresh.

First Boffer Club thing is happening tomorrow under ~BornToBeReborn's guideance, that should be cool. Okay, havnt updated this thing since last finals last quarter. That was a while ago... Those went bitchin apparently, I nabed a 4.0. Now theres a little *presidents listzorz!* thing on my transcript. So, kickass. Thats not happening again, ever. I have writing 102, japanese 102 and math 99 this quarter. Writing 102 looks, of course, not even a little bit cool. But there are enough loud angry people to keep the heat off me when the prof is looking for people to talk about things. Math is taught by a mexican gnome, and I hate him. Japanese contains kanji, thats scary. But it's pictures, and I like pictures, so it might not be horrible.

The only class I don't have friends in is writing 102. ~maiamaiam is suffering the math gnome as well as I am, and she's in the japanese. So is ~BornToBeReborn and ~DoomedSoul. As ~maiamaiam has mentioned, we get to do a video project for that at the end of the quarter. It's going to be very hard for us to keep this free of racial stereotypes and wang jokes. Heh... Wang.

So, I spent most of winter break drawing things. Not somehting I've done in a while beyond notebook doodles for a long long time. I made the decision a little late to apply to those crazy-expensive art schools this year, and was rather portfolioless. My only real "review" was on friday for Pratt, and I passed that. So I'm feeling pretty goddamn great about that, it's very exciting to live the dream - so to speak. That portfolio contained no digital works in it, oddly enough. Now I just have to submit a real application... and pull millions and millions of dollars out of my ass, or grow them in my closet, since they are in fact a fungus. 10,006. Thats 3 zeros and a six. And a one. And a comma. Rock freakin' on.

Today is tuesday (kayoubi... kyoubi?), meaning there are 3 more days of instruction before finals week begins. Japanese final is this thursday (mokuyoubi), Math is next monday (getsuyoubi), and I have no idea when Econ's is. I made that syllabus into a hat. I hate you Econ. Your squiggily graphs and funny words (Oligopoly. Hehehe.) will soon mean even less to me. Important note: the last pieces of econ homework I've turned in have featured origional artwork. Chapter 15 displayed the epic battle of Bear vurses chupacabra. Chapter 16 had a lot of lines and twirlys, we'll say those symbolize sexual frustration.

Every test I've had this quarter has had me feeling very very unprepared, yet I seem to come out with my butt-virginity intact every time. Anyone who ever tells you cramming is not a good study method is a damn liar. So even though I feel boned for finals... I'll still live. Right? Right.

Got a little off topic there. I was trying to point out that I've been feeling rather good as of late. Got to celebrate ~BornToBeReborn's 18th last weekend, got to see ~JahuteSkye, munch some cake... much boffing (See the non-LARPer, non-intercourse entry) occured. Boffing CTF, as we have already established, is bitchin'. My "short swords" are a foot or so too long, should really do something about that.

I have a half a roll of black and white sitting in my camera right now. I seriously need to get off my arse and finish it. I'll be very pleased if we get snow again tomorrow, give me some new thigs to take the pictures of.

This weekend, as ~maiamaiam pointed out, we (~BornToBeReborn and myself) were gone. All the way gone at WWU. Got to stay in the fairhaven dorm-thing with ~JahuteSkye, who showed us around and introduced us to some people.

It seems like a very cool place, got broadband in the dorms, campus-wide wifi, friday concerts in the student union building. We were also intruduced to a thing called boffing (I think thats how it's spelled). It's played with a lenght of pvc pipe, with a fun noodle ducttaped around it - this is for wailing on people. We played CTF around the fairhaven area for an hour or two. I enjoyed it immensely.

Hmm, what else? Food was good, fairhaven has it's own buffet, thats cool. It's very pretty, all brick and stuff.

I need to submit a portfolio for the art program, should start working on that... Really. I won't put it off. Not me. I don't swing that way baby.

I must go study for a wonderful two-day-long own-you-up-the-bum microecon test. Thanks to ~BornToBeReborn for buzzing me and shaving the back half. I've never actaully been bald before, this is certinly different.

Back in school now, the sienor year is upon me. Last 3 quarters at SPSCC. I got some Math 98, because of that D the last time I took it. Micro economics, our prof has a real serious brain-problem O_O But, homework actaully gets graded on "questions attempted", so as long as I can BS it, we're cool. Also taking Japanese 101 with crazy people. (~BornToBeReborn ~maiamaiam ~doomed-soul). I would be willing to bet that most of the non-asian people in that class have deviantart accounts. Most notably, the green-haired chick, the dude with long hair that has a anime babe sketched in pencil on his binder, and the short chick with the kitty ear hair thing. Anyway... Konbanwa, genki desuki?

Bought a 35mm wide-angle lens for the olympus, havn't used it very much yet. But it did use it to finish off a roll of black and white. If that ever gets developed I may upload it.

Thinking about buying a zen micro. 5 gig probably. I've wanted one for a while, but now that I have some money I actually have the means to make the purchace.

Fantastic disregard for my deviantart blog. I've tried to sit down and write a few before this, but I always seem to get distracted. So this is the most lines I've written since June 21, it would be a shame to not "lay down" some serious information about the life and times of glenn.

Most Importantly: I have stopped peeling. My face got a little owned while hiking to camp muir on Mt Rainier with ~BornToBeReborn. Thats about 10,000 feet up for you not privy to washing state mountainry. 3,000 feet was a / style angle in this crazy-burny-cold ice stuff. It was worth it to be able to slide down that 3,000 feet on garbage bags. Badass. I took the camera, so if I didnt bust it, I'll have some shots of the trip. Oh Oh, I set a record (Well, I assume. I'm not wiling to check) for crappiest shoes that high up. Went it in my suede pumas.

Camping begins tomorrow. with ~BornToBeReborn ~JahuteSkye and ~doomed-soul - that'll be badass. Gone for a few days, then home for a full day, then off again with the jeremy to oceany parts.

Got the drivery parts I needed from shaun for my scanner - of course right after I got about half a roll done, the thing crapped out again. Remain patient for more photo's. Yes. Wait right here.

spscc got out a few weeks ago, without professors bitching at me and living in terror of essays and exams - I really have no idea what to do with myself. I've been filling most of my time hanging out and sharing the boredom with ~BornToBeReborn, ~DoomedSoul and ~JahuteSkye. Been trying to get outside as much as I can, it's been hella nice here (see latest deviations that only cool people commented on), like 80+ in the afternoon - Actually had to get out the shorts.

Picked up San Andreas to amuse myself, it's worked well at that. I was a fan of GTA3 and Vice, rockstar made some cool improvements to the gameplay - even if the graphics are a little console-y. One complaint: I'm getting a little pissed at these "flight school" missions, seems like it would be much much easier with a PS2 stick, using WASD makes it a massive headache.

I've been working with ~BornToBeReborn on a business project, stay tuned for details on that. I'm getting excited about it, it could actually get off the ground - provided I don't ADD out on it.

Got a job. I work at a quilting store now. Yeah, that one kinda surprised me. I stock shelves and do something with their sale of fabrics online, I'm really not sure what. Last entry was on January 13th, 2005. Hmm, thats a long time ago. I really need to get on top of this stuff, the deviantART community should only have to go a week tops without hearing personal, typo-laden, information about me.

Well. Tomorrow is my one and only day of finals at the old SPSCC. Meaning Spring Break is but one hell-filled day away! I can almost taste the irrisponsibility. Math is scary as all get-out right now, I think I have something to the order of a C- or D. So, if the final goes crappy I will be in deep, deep crap. Running start being allowed to kick you out is you slip below a 3.0 GPA. I think I get to pleed my case first if that happens. My angle is that they won't pay for a student to take Math 98 to begin with. So I'm not doing crappy on the college's dime, it's my own funds. Worth a shot at any rate.

More community college-related stuff - Abnormal Psychology is the most damn fun I have ever had with a class. Oli is a damn fine professor, just yesterday he took us (Psych Club) to the Ramtha School of Enlightenment. Those of you who may not quite be up to speed with the shanigans of J.Z. Knight and her rabble of misguided worshipers should check out that website, it's mildly interesting if nothing else. Basicly, it's a cult based on theoretical quantum psyisics, that they bank on people not being able to understand. A little bit of neurology too, they talk about thought in the reptilian brain and 'mid brain'. And that we can transend making desicions in the reptilian brain and see the future with the Mid brain. Oh yeah, we can re-observe time and change with past with that googey wonder: the mid brain. Ramtha himself was a 35,000 year-old warrior from the lost continent of Atlantis, in case you were wondering. He said this stuff. Not Glenn. Check it out yourself, I'n not your mommy. If there are any amoung you that remember last years escapade in web-design compititions; ~BornToBeReborn and I had an adventure with Reigonals (Fourth place) and State (Second Place). The whole thing was a lot of fun, good experiance and some bonding time. But, it always could've gone better. Getting fourth and second is, 'course, not the best possible way to do it. Not so much the losing in itself; it's that we got beaten by Phillip. So, since we're still technicly students there and we paid our dues ~ we're competing again. And this week was the first compition, the Reigonals, we got first! Oh yes. *dance* Our design is Here. Keeping in mind that we were pretty damn pressed for time, and I sure as hell didnt have any template ideas for a 'nam veterans site

So, we're getting sweet revenge and already have a gold under our belts.

Weell.. I was finally able to get my spscc trasnscripts and find our my grades for fall quarter today. A- in math, A- in human dimensions. Not too shabby, I would've been happy with a B. I'm pleased with that, I didn't have a particualry good feeling about the Human dim' final - I really rushed through it. But it all worked out, yay me!

The One (Feel Like a Number) v2 Collab has between ~BornToBeReborn and myself has gotten some pretty good feedback so far... Well moreso on mine - I even gave props! I never give props! So, if you missed that HERE, you can go do that right now. I'm sure he'd appreciate that, what with it being a collab and all.

I hate buying books, I hate using books too. :\ $300 this quarter, and I'm only taking three classes. Art 160 (Painting) Abnormal Psych, and Math 98 - all fine classes. I'm reasonably sure *JahuteSkye, ~BornToBeReborn, aaaand * doomed-soul aaand myself should be able to have a nice lunchtime between classes everyday - that's cool. As our up-and-coming DM pointed out last entry - that would be the time for some D&D. I'd like to get into that, I'm thinking Monk. Not sure on a race yet.

Right! So! Finals week is here at last and the last week of instruction has come and gone. I had my trusty camera with me on the last day, I'll be sure to upload a miniature photo-album some time here. It will feature a nunchaku fight video taking place in a Jack In The Box (Said nunchaku being made of two straws and a napkin), and the Dome of the Rock made out of tomatos and Fanta. Jolly good.

I've been through my math final already this week, I think it went okay. I still don't know what I got on it. I can't imagine I did too bad, it's Math 94 afterall. I have a A in that class to begin with, so even if I choked I should still pass. Then there's the Human Dimensions final, we've only taken one test all year - it's all been assignments and lectures (Sometimes even by the teacher! Thats right angry lesbian - I'm talking to YOU!) And I got a 98% on that last one - so I should be good to go. (~BornToBeReborn got a 100%)

Almost finished with my application to work at the fantastic "Olympia Copy and Printing" ... thing. I don't quite think its legal in this state to ask me my height and weight on a application - not as if it matters, I really need the work and don't really care. I don't even care where they put me, I know they have a place for a designer but making copys all day is just fine with me. I just hope they can fit me in with my classes and not have to be away from home all the time. Went to see National Treasure with ~ JahuteSkye, ~knight-time, and lauren. The 'ole spscc group. Good movie, basicly recycled Indiana Jones plots in a modern setting. But I happen to like indiana jones movies, so I thought it was pretty fine - nothing epic but still a good movie.

Three days of school this week! Awesome - well awesome if I didn't have tests and'or quizes every day this week >_< I had to buy those damn scan-tron things today. I'm not too worried about it, I have decent grades in all two of my classes

Human dim' is all classwork, we don't really have a book to memorize stuff form - that should be interesting.

Well, I'm not. But I could've been.

So, your friend *hot-soup went to a youth retreat over the weekend - friday evening to sunday afternoon. I have to say it was awesome, the first day was kinda scary, what with all those people. But after everybody kinda put the front away I was able to get to know some pretty cool people there. It was something else man, I left on fire - awesome trip.

We conducted a bout for the "Ping-Pong Champion of the Galaxy", I fought with all my pong-fu but I was defeted around 2am. We played round-robin; you'know that game where you try to cram eightteen people around a pong table and run colckwise swicthing every whack. That was intense.

So, any of you own a camera? Like a good camera? I'm looking at some old second-hand Pentax stuff, 35mm with a 50mm lense. I think the guy at Don's Camera said f/8. I guess thats the focal size. Any advise? That'd be appreciated.

Played JK3 online for a hour or so today, fun game in single but I'm not sure about multi. I got pwn'd pretty bad, all I could really do was smack newbs around, make myself feel big. Most of the moves you use in single are too slow to work on multi, like that swing behind thing. In single you take someones legs off with that, in multi by the time youre half way through they have a sword in your head.

Crap. It's been a while since I've accually "blogged."

Lets see here, I start classes as SPSCC on the 20th. I'm pretty excited for that; I mean after I got over having the bejezus' scared out of me that is. I want to the Student Oreintation, payed for my books. Books are freaking expencive, where do they get off charging $100 for a pamphlet on personality types? I mean, crap.

So, yeah. Writing 101, Math 94, Visual Basic programing (CIS 166) and Human Dimensions in the Office (CIS 109)
I don't know how they suckered me into that last one. That whole thing is crap
anywany. I really don't know. The important thing is I wont have to worry about it anymore than 2 days per week, and by the end of the quarter: I'm done.

Winter quarter I'm taking either ART 120: Drawing, ART 135: 3D Design, or ART 130: 2D Design. You'know something I can do

After lookin at the requirements on writing 101, I think I'll have to combine some activities if I want to pass, like homework and eating will become one super-activity. Hard but possible, I'll live. I'll either end up with an AA degree or a wad of credits, thats about the same size and shape as a AA dergee

So, I went to the "Mountain Dew Floatfest" yesterday. In Chehalis (however you spell that) It was a solid twelve hour festivle with some suprisingly good bands. Nice Try Stanley (whos shirt I currently sport) gave me a ride down there, noon-ish. We saw Dogwood, Number One Gun, Sidewalk Slam, and The O.C. Supertones. A healthy mix of Ska, Hard Punk, and Rock. The best band I was there to see was Emery, have any of you ever seen Emery live? Have any of you ever heard of Emery? *phew* Man, I can honestly tell you: that was the hardest I have ever been rocked. When someone talks about a man playing a keyboard with his face and screaming at the top of his lungs; you'd think that sounds a wee odd. But when you see it live O_o its a different matter, Toby at one poing jumped down off the stage and into the crowd (or moshpit, to be presice.)

The best part? We got to go back after the show and talk with Emery in the band room *eeeeee!!* Seth and his wife live right here on Olympia, he said we should come hang out sometime! I was just awestruck by how nice those guys were, nicest guys you'll ever meet, Toby particulary (cray guy swings the mic and trys to climp the stage riging, know him?)

I think I enjoy the 'ol moship more than I did a year ago, I guess I'm just stronger and taller now. Easier to push back now

Granted; I have the mobility of an 80 yearold woman today. But none-the-less I enjoyed it. I like to pay the Defender of truth and Justice in there, pulling up people that fall; pushing out that a-hole that always elbows smaller people in the chest, ectera.

Stupid this never accually works, jams every day, or whenever you need it. Today it has taken the latter.

I've never told you about my job, have I computer? Weeell; I work in a cube, I have my own desk and chair. Inside the cube. I mean, its a decent cube; I have window afterall. Thats pretty nice. It's just the nature of the boring work I do that bothers me: Copy this, type that, make a spreadsheet of this, ect. ect. ect. For those of you that don't know I work at ergoTEC. Sounds WAY too much like INITEC for my taste. *coughseeoficespacecough* Yeah, we have something to do with Telecommunications, or Telemanagement. I'm not sure exactly.

Not a bad for someone thats just 16. I mean, I have no car. So all the things I need are right here: Bus station, the Java Flow, Work, And a Thrift Store. All within a 5 block radius.
Pretty sweet deal when you think about it. Not only that, but the ladys house is directly on the way home from work.

I think my hairs fading, do you know how to make it not do that? I was like jet black, and now in the light you can see my natural colour. O_o

Abra-Kabbra! Only four more days of school left; the end is so near I'm salivating over it like a fat kid slaivates over cake. All the loss of sleep, all the crappy subs, all the little "You SUCK!" stickers I get on my work: Over! No more! finito! I dont ever have to go back to a high school, even though I only have sophmoroe status me and ~BornToBeReborn are going to South Puget Sound Community College next year. We'll have associates degrees by the time we're 18. Good stuff indeed.

The rub is, of course; I reeely suck at math. So, I have to waste time taking the math classes I couldn't place high enough on. In this case its Math 94, nothing I'm proud of, but I'll live. I live for design, wjhat can I say?

For those deviants that don't know I got my self a job at ErgoTEC Group One of the reasons they hired me was to redesign the site (Looks like hell right now) and as a office assistant. Make coffee, copy things, make spreadsheets, make phonecalls, more spreadsheets. Stuff like that, office-type stuff. My boss is a total e-tard, that has it's upsides. We're on a T4 connection and "I can downlaod it if it dosnt have a virus" Kickass. And at 7.50 an hour thats not too shabby for a first job
