Fact a)

In my opinion, Nathan Fake is like Boards of Canada with balls.
Drowning in a sea of love is one of the best albums of 2006. Period.
Seeing him live this summer was overwhelming.
Seeing Aphex Twin incorporate a Nathan Fake track in his DJ set this summer was mindbending.

Fact b)

The recent Trentemøller album comes very close to perfection.
It really is that good. Plus, it's the most expensive CD I've ever bought.
I got a SEALED copy of the VERY limited edition off eBay for 36€
(because I wasn't fast enough upon its release in October to pick one up in the stores).
I feel good now.

Fact c)

The Arcade Fire are Bullshit.
Music for Music-Critics.

Have a good time, thanks for your attention, that's it for now.
-Beautiful melody
-warmth
-a grain of grunge
Any News? Yes.

-studies are goin' great. A lot of nice people, interesting topics and fun studiowork (with hasselblads and dozens of softboxes etc...)

-I finally got my first Mac. The wait was long. I was wanting one for almost two years now. Now the wait is over, I got a shiny new Macbook (Core 2 Duo 2x2Ghz, 2x512Ram, 80Gb S-ATA, DVD Burner...). I totally adore OS X. It's the definite operating system, to me. Windows Vista and most of its new functionality is a poor ripoff (Spotlight, Exposé, Dashboard etc etc, anyone?)

-Beck is one hell of a good songwriter. His new record "The Information" is badass.

I want you to tell me something.
This might be:

What is the most personal, emotional, sentimental, introspective moment in Music you have ever experienced/felt?

And why?

It can be everything. Ambient to Metalcore.
(Personal) emotions matter!

...or am I the only one who finds peace(ful state of mind) in music?

Anyway, mine would be:

The first 15 seconds of the Boards of Canada track "Hey Saturday Sun" (Sample: [link] )

Why?
The first time I heard this, I was almost crying because I was so overwhelmed that some seconds of a piece of music could come so close to my inner self. It was as if there was a direct speedway from the speakers to my innermost. Wait, is this too kitschy? Anyway, it's just the way I felt/feel.
Some of you might remember that, when I was submitting my photo "Hey Saturday Sun" [link] I already mentioned that I felt I created the counterpart of these very 15 seconds. After 3 months, I still feel that way.
Blurred childhood memories, vast landscapes without any human being in sight.
But there is another picture I always paint when I listen to it:
Imagine a the intro of a movie, some athmospheric introductionary shots appear on screen and there is a narrator who reflects his life with a toned down, thoughtful voice.
Ah, damn, I didn't even want to write this much..who reads this anyway.

I'm very much looking forward to your...feelings!

Remember that Nina Simone song? Or the version by Muse? Or, my favorite, by the Quantic Soul Orchestra?

Anyway.

I moved houses.
From my parents' place in Bochum, Germany (Map: [link])
to my first own home/room I share with two flatmates in Bielefeld, Germany (Map: [link]).

Why?

After finishing school this year's May, studies (Photography+Media) will commence in mid september here in Bielefeld.

While moving from there to here and putting all the furniture into the right places, that one scene from Fight Club really popped into my mind where Edward Norton walks around in the realtime IKEA-catalogue. Still need to purchase some "LACK" tables off IKEA .

Anyway.

Just wanted to update this journal after over a month of nothingness.

This it for now, thanks.
It was a very cool trip. My first time on the island. I'm glad I've had
the opportunity to get to know England from multiple and (presumingly) "true" angles...something that wouldn't have been possible with a tour focused on, let's say, London.

So much happens these days.
I'll make a list once again (unsorted).

- first I wasn't sure wether I enjoyed the new Tool album much, but it totally, extremely grew on me. It's the only album I currently have on my iPod
- one of my three harddisks (each 160gb) died last week. All my music is gone. I'm only half of a person now So sad so sad... ...since the iTunes library-file got damaged by the HDD failure, my iPod lost all its music, too (it's not broken tho)
-yesterday I gave my portfolio (consisting of ~35 A3 prints) to the Uni I want to begin studies at soon. I think around 150 people were there and only ~ 35 of them were approved...me included .
Today came the hardest part, tho: All of the 35 lucky (good?) ones needed to bring a Polaroid camera with them and make photos after the topic was given to us. We've had 4 hours of pure-street-photography-time. Guess what? I passed again. Guess what? I'm incredibly happy. I am now officially "artistically capable" (rough translation of "Künstlerische Eignungsprüfung") to study Photography + Media.
-tomorrow, my plane leaves from Düsseldorf to London. Then, I'll go by train to Derby, where ~lisak10 resides. I'll stay there 5 days. I'm really looking forward to it

*update*
- I was hired for shooting a russian-rnb-musician two months ago. Website. CD Cover. All can be seen on the nearly finished website [link]

Got the grades of my exams today:

English (written): 11 (out of 15)
Geography (written): 12 (out of 15)
Arts (written): 13 (out of 15)
Biology (oral): 7 (out of 15)

This all sums up to an average of (for German speaking only: SCHNITT! ) 2,4 (on a scala ranging from 1,0 to 4,0).

I can't relentlessly go party now, tho.
For about a week already, I work my ass off to layout the magazine of all the people who graduated with me. I think I'm finished in two more days. Lots of stuff left to do, tho. We'll see.

On a sidenote, my sister married last weekend, was the official wedding photographer and some turned out cool, I may or may not show them sometime later.

On another sidenote, by the end of June, I will go to England to visit *lisak10 for five days in Derby / London. I think it will be a cool time!

Peace out, fellas!

600 photographs.

For three days, ~tronbot visited me. A Devmeet, yes, you name it.
We had an awesome time, visiting various industrial locations in my area.
Hence, you are now officially enforced to endure a relatively strong flood
of industrial shots from me (and check out his account, too!).

We were joined by ~buggsuperstar and ~Blubberblade,
on occasion, too.

By the way, has anyone seen the movie "Session 9" ?
I recommend it to everyone who is into run-down locations
and industrial photography. Ah, yes, there's some mystery in
it, too . Directed by the guy who also made the absolutely
fantastic "The Machinist".

HEADLINE###2

My final secondary school exams are over, finally.
Now I have to sit and wait to get the grades of my Abitur-tests.
I think it went relatively well.
HEADLINE###3

You may call me nerd or just a geekish kiddie, but I really enjoyed
this year's E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo). Since I'm a diehard
Nintendo fanboy, I watched their press conference through the live
stream, directly from the Kodak Theatre . I'm overly excited
about the new Nintendo console, called "Wii". I want to get one. Now.
Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Pilotwings, Sonic, Red Steel...YES!

I am 19 today.
Had a nice party yesterday evening/night with friends & family.
But there is/was one particular highlight:
My parents gave a Macbook Pro to me. On paper.
A culminated present for birthday, easter, graduation at school and begin of studies. Ready for pickup in October 2006.

This will be one hell of a long time Six months to go.
I've been to a Nada Surf gig yesterday and it was awesome awesome awesome!
I realized I don't go on rock-concerts often and that this very fact is a big mistake.
I need to rock out more! It's so much fun .
But ooooh, precious electronica...hmm it's a tie!

Anyway, for only 18€ (I think it's 20$), we (me, ~buggsuperstar, my brother, his girlfriend, my sister, and three other friends) did get to see three awesome bands. Total playtime: Over 4 hours!

First was duo hailing from spain. One man playing acoustic guitar with dozens of effects, a drum machine and also singing, plus a woman with a very beautiful voice. All three Nada Surf members surprisingly entered the stage to back the duo up with drums, bass and electric guitar for one track. As quick as they came, they were gone again. They made some very good, sweet folk-triphop-rock. Nice mixture you think? Yes it was. I did not remember their name, though. What a pity.

Second was the British band "Goldrush". Awesome, funny, friendly and just plain sympathetic guys. The singer looked exactly like John Mayer and sung like the Arctic Monkey's front man. Very good stuff. Again, the Nada Surf drummer jumped in at one song to "play" the cowbell, dance on stage and make some funny moves and mimics. I managed to catch the lanyard one of the guitarists threw into the crowd. Yes!! . It was cool to be able to drop a quick 'thank you' in person afterwards because they were hanging out at the merchandise store.

Headliner (in every sense of the word): Nada Surf!
Man, they SO rock out live! They performed all the good stuff. Beginning with "Popular", playing some crowdrockers like "Concrete Bed", "The Way you wear your Head", "Hi-Speed Soul", "Blankest Year" and also brilliantly preaching ballads like "Killian's Red" and "Blonde on Blonde", it was totally satisfying. Their playtime was roughly two entire hours. Awesome. Super Sympathetic. Even the encore consisted of six songs (yes, including the killer "Imaginary Friends" !). They closed the show with "Hyperspace"...man, what an anthem!

As you *might* be able to see, I've had a great evening/night yesterday.

Friends and/or watchers,

some facts taken off my everydaylife these days :

Fact#1:
My favorite album of the month must be Weezer - Green Album. Man, that's such a great highschool-cheerful-rock-album!! I heart it big time.

Fact#2:
The next week will be the very last week of my schooltime. The last week of 13 years! Yieha!
Final exams (Matura/Abitur) will be on 25th, 27th of April and on 2nd, 7th of May. The relevant
courses I need to learn very much for are English, Geography, Arts and Biology. I just haven't started yet

Fact#3:
I registered myself at my desired place for studies. It will be Photography and Mediadesign at the Universaty of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule) in the German city Bielefeld (which is close to my hometown ). I thought studying Photography singularly would not be all to wise when looking at the prospects of future >scarce!< job offers. Wish me luck that I pass the test in June!

Fact#4:
These days, I'm very busy completing the photo-work for the final yearbook of my class. My plan is to deliver normal portraits, photographs of my fellas at the time they still peed their pants (babyphotos), aand...remakes of the babyphotos in the year 2006. You can see the first results here [link] ... it's been VERY much fun shooting them and editing them is quite cool, but time-consuming, too.

This it for now, thanks.

Friends and/or watchers,

as this very elegant headline wants to suggest, I can't fckn believe how awesome the live-music-festival-agenda looks for this year 2006. I am really joyous. My personal concert-year-2006 already was great, I've seen stuff like Death Cab for Cutie and Gravenhurst already, but I'm blown away by the stuff that's yet to come, literally....
To make it short:

-Tool (already got the ticket at the first day they could be purchased [thanks to ~buggsuperstar ]) in Düsseldorf

-Massive Attack in Düsseldorf (one "word": OMFG!!...by the way, have you already listened to their new song? It's called "Live with Me" and can be bought @ iTunes. Great stuff, it's the new single to push the upcoming best of. sounds a bit like unfinished symphony part2)

-Sigur Rós in Essen (already saw them late last year in Cologne and it was awesome. This one is the only solo-appearance outside of German festivals in 2006. The location is also very special. It is an old/antique cinema with chairs in it. What better place can there be for Sigur Rós?) **update: tickets bought *

-The Strokes in Cologne (yieha!)

*UPDATE*
-Maximo Park in Essen (yay!)
*/UPDATE*

-Kraftwerk, Basement Jaxx, Deichkind and tons more at the "SonneMondSterne" (SunMoonStars) - festival 2006 [link]

-Aphex Twin, The Streets, Roni Size, Alex Gopher, Etienne de Crecy, 2manydjs/Soulwax, Isolée, Tomte, Wir sind Helden at "MELT!" - festival

I'm going to shove up quite some money to buy all the tickets but it will be one hell of a summer! I finish school in about 1-2 months so this even more perfect
I have seen Gravenhurst playing live in Essen (the city next to my hometown, Bochum) on wednesday this week. It was rather awesome. Plus, it has been the smallest concert I've ever attended. The venue was measuring roughly 10*10 meters. There was some nice dialogue between crowd and artist, too.
Friends and/or watchers,

these days, I upgraded some of the most important (at least most time consuming ) things in my life:

First thing is, I got myself an iPod (30gb, fifth gen, white). It's an upgrade from an old discman which couldn't even handle MP3-CDs . I'm quite pleased with the iPod so far, especially since I've been an iTunes user for a couple of months now (organizing my library). I found out that Podcasts/Video Podcasts are an extremely cool thing...Photoshop TV especially

Second thing is, I changed the contract with my internet provider. I upgraded from a 1mbit down/0,5mbit up line to a 2mbit down/0,5mbit up line. The cool thing is: I can choose the download/upload ratio as I like. 2mbit down/0,5mbit up or 1,5mbit down/1mbit up or 0,5mbit down/2mbit up. Sending stuff to friends via ICQ is even more joyful now

Enough for tech-talk-posing,

this is it for now.

Friends and/or watchers,

in a journal I posted circa one month ago [link] , I advised you to listen to a track by german electronica formation "Swod". I know some of you very liked it and asked for more. I thought it's a nice idea to present some more stuff from that electronica-ambient-jazzy-chill corner. Here we go:

Swod - "Gehen" [link]
The track I mentioned in the journal from December 21st, 2005.
Minimalist electronica, moody voice samples and, of course, the piano forte.

Flanger - "Unosietecero" [link]
Quite jazzy. Hail to Fender Rhodes!

Alter Ego - "Slacker" [link]
A rather chilled electronica track (with nice acoustic bass) by german Techhouse producers Alter Ego. Anyone remember their block rockin' track "Rocker" ?

Slipper - "Fascinating" [link]
Can it get any more moody & disturbing?
The album this track is on is called "Invisible Movies".
What a coincidence...

Biosphere - "Poa Alpina" [link]
An ambient-list without Biosphere?
Recommendation for a thorough experience of this track:
a) Close your eyes and listen (how obvious ).
b) Install the PC game "Project IGI" and listen to this as the soundtrack.

Bob James - "Nautilus" [link]
Classic (and sampled to death, as I might add).
Best Rhodes solo in music history.

Bugge Wesseltoft - "Existence" [link]
You might know this track from a remix that was released on one of the
inevitable dozens of crappy chillout compilations like "Café del Mar".
Nothing beats this original.

Datacide - "Flowerhead" [link]
Epic Ambient.
Don't shy away from the rather cheesy intro and the overall length. It pays off!

Deaf Center - "White Lake" [link]
Yay for Scandinavia, again! Wonderful close-to-zero-bpm, soundscapes and piano.

Porn Sword Tobacco - "Watts Towers" [link]
Very similar in sound to Boards of Canada. But these fine folks also are Scandinavian.
I read that they called themselves "Porn Sword Tobacco" because the only shop
that exists near their rural-ish studio in the woods sells, exclusively and singularly,
porn videos, swords and tobacco

Susumu Yokota - "Lapis Lazuli" [link]
Beautifully positive ambient-electronica + piano from Japan.

Friends and/or watchers,

I just came home from a great day!

First, I was at the studio of a band of a friend of a friend of mine in order to throw a little briefing concerning the cd cover artwork I'm supposed to do. It went great, we both have pretty strong vision of what it should look like and the good thing is, both visions melt perfectly. I can't wait to get on workin' on it

Secondly, today was the day I heard that Nada Surf come to my city to play a live gig. OMFG! They were on a rather extensive european tour one or two months ago but didn't play near my place. Now they play in my city! No (good band) ever plays in my city! How cool is that? Nada Surf! Nada Surf!!
This is pure YAY!

This is it for now.

Friends and/or watchers,

"I am young and I am lost" is what our fine pals from Maximo Park like to sing.
Well, I am not.
Is this simple fact worthy a Journal?
Most definitely.

Where should I start?
For male human beings being citizens of the german state, it is a deed to
either go to the army or to a social-ish place like a hospital or a nursing home
after having finished school in the age of 18 or 19. There's no getting around in
this. Well, there is...prior to that deed (lasting 9 months btw), you're "invited"
(you must go) to come to the agency/bureau which deals with all the
males in my age. You're tested by a doctor wether you're capable of pulling things
off that are necessary as a member of the army (fitness etc). And, as you might
have guessed : I am (my body is ) completely incapable of being stressed by
army shit. I'm far too heavy to get into the army . The good thing
is : I don't have to go to the army nor I have to work at a social-ish place. How cool
is that? I'm saved from the loss of a complete year I can't go to university.

So, how does my schedule for 2006 look like (Keep in mind : That's all the ideal case!)
-May/June : I'll be finished with school (Abitur/Matura) after 13 years .
-Between July and November, I'll have to to an internship (3 months) as a requirement
for studying at the uni I want to.
-November/December hoping to get accepted at uni. I want to study a combination
of photography and media-design.

Wish me luck!

This is it for now.

Friends and/or watchers,

if you ask me, 2005 was one hell of a great year.
I don't refer to personal happenings or experiences (even though the theory would still be valid, counting these personal factors in ) but just to releases in the different medias such as movies, music and videogames.

From a music point of view, 2005 was really spectacular, if you ask me. My personal taste in music is very widespread (in fact, I listen to almost every genre except for trance/gabber/gothic ) which makes me appreciate the good stuff that has been released in all the different genres.

Friends and/or watchers,

today, I got my belated christmas present.
A lovely new toy, the Canon EF-S 10-22mm 3.5-4.5 lens.
I think I don't need to mention that I'm happy. Yes I am.

As some of you might know, I'm not really an (ultra-)wideangle-guy.
I'm rather tele. I often like compression of perspective.

I'm probably not going to change that habit but rather enhance or expand it.

Either way, I'm very much looking forward to using the lens, it complements my setup well:
Wideangle: Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5
Normal: Canon EF-S 18-55 3.5-5.6
Tele: Canon EF 70-200 4L

For future buys, I consider to upgrade the rather trashy 18-55 to a 24-75 Tokina lens which is said to rival the 1000€ more expensive Canon 24-70 2.8L in terms of optical performance. Another lenses that interest me very much are the Canon EF 100mm 2.8 macro, the Canon EF 50mm 1.4 and the Canon EF 85mm 1.8.

But for now, my funds are drowned, once again .
I'll need to save up a considerable amount of bucks to get one of the lenses I'm looking for.

This is it for now, good night.
The next step is to subdivide the whole thing into different galleries. The gallery now consists of 91 photographs which isn't all that handy anymore.
Do you want to see an example of a Canon EOS 20D whose sensor hasn't been cleaned from dust since its purchase (which lies a good half year behind)?

There you go: [link]

I've ordered a cleaning-tool for the sensor which is said to be the best.
And the most expensive, to say the least. It's the "Arctic Butterfly" (shame
on the title!) by the VisibleDust corporation ( [link] ).
I gave it a quick spin today (hah, pun intended!!...if you didn't get it, read
how that brush works ) and it quite noticeably improved the free sight of
the sensor. I'm not 100% satisfied, though. And I know why: I didn't let
the batteries charge for a time long enough. So I assume the brush didn't
got spinned fast enough. I'm currently loading the freshly bought batteries
until they're finished. I hope I get a perfectly clean sensor after that waiting.

Dust on sensor after having applied the Brush one time (not fully loaded): [link]

Still some spots, yes.

The reason I bought this ridicolously high-priced toy is that I read horrifying
stories of people who used 99,99% alcohol and some supermarket-swabs to
clean their sensors...and scratched it to death. Sure, I'm well aware of the fact
that that very method is applied by 90% of people who clean their sensors
but for me, it wasn't an option. I don't plan on wasting a 1300€ camera and
prefer spending on a safe method that's not at all expensive in relation to
the body-price (70€).

I'll update the journal when I gave the brush a second spin

This is it for now.

You should checkout Gravenhurst.
His music is best described as a mixture of ambient/rock/folk/krautrock/psychodelica.
Comparable bands would be Radiohead, Tortoise, The Album Leaf, Sigur Rós, Eels, Xela, Vincent Gallo...

It's quite moody and silent but still rockish at times.

Overall, very great!

This is it for now.

Awesome, great, lovely, bombastic and elegic.

Despite the fact that we stood next to approximately three to four thousand people, there was total silence in the quiet parts of the tracks. It was breathtaking.

Friends and/or watchers,

I got a task for you:

What is your Top 3 of songs with a huge (!) amplitude of the general mood.

For example, a song starts out very uptempo and happily but after a while evolves into something slow and sentimental. Or vice versa. Or something totally different.

My personal Top 3 of songs with a huge amplitude in their general mood:

1.: Radiohead - You and whose Army?
It starts out like a "how to kill myself?" piece of beautiful music and after a while, suddenly a short next level of (relative) cheerfulness comes up. After these ~5 seconds of climbing up the ladder of the mood, the track finally kicks off its orgasm. Euphoria, relief, joy. Woah!

2.: Tool - Aenema
A rumbling, dark, uptempo guitar-driven track, with beautiful vocals. After raising and raising the level of aggression and grief, finally everything finds its way out and god looks through the thunderstorm and turns everything into a sunny day. Mom's coming around to put it back the way it all ought to be

3.: Apparat - Komponent
Such a fragile fundament this beautiful track is put onto. The strings do a wonderful job in preparing a comfortable nest for the outstandingly beautiful refrain. It's simply unbeatable in the enourmus feel of warmth, euphoria, happiness.

I'm really looking forward to your top 3!

This is it for now.
The link/button to my portfolio has always been up on my dA page but since I was too lazy to update my stuff, it really became a wasteland.
Last week, I found an awesome (a perfect, for my taste) application that generates galleries out of your pictures. I played around with it a bit and instructed it to redesign my gallery. I chose >80 of my photographs I took the time I do photography (almost three years) and tried to only display the - to my eyes - essence of what I'm doing.

The stuff I still like. The stuff that matters to me. The stuff I want to share.

As you might have guessed, the design isn't anything special at all due to the fact that it was created by a simple script, but I like it either way for its simplicity and slick-lookingness.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

some news bits for ya!

- I ordered a huge print of my deviation "Room by the Sea" [link] . It measures 80*120centimeters.
It looks soooooo delicious .
I need to find a proper frame for it, tho. Might take a while.

- !!!Finally!!! after nearly three years of waiting, one of my favorite electronic music producers, Murcof [link] released his second album after his absolutely brilliant, innovative, groundbraking, fresh, perfect and just plain good debut "Martes". His second effort is called "Remembranza" and progression is all evident. The tracks are even more epic, intelligent, sentimental, phenominal, everlasting than on his first record. Though, I must commit, to an "electronica beginner", I think the first album would be the better choice to tune in since it's not as - how can I put it - complex as the new one. The artwork of "Remembranza" is just plain awesome. Really worth a purchase. You should go listen to it / buy it!
To me, this release is in the top 5 of the records that have been released this year (and I think 2005 is/was an AWESOME year for music)

-I just found out that the Bloc Party gig in december has sold out . Good news is, for both Franz Ferdinand and Maximo Park, tickets can still be purchased, yay!

- It's always funny to see how "Sauron's Eye" (I'm talking about the Daily Deviation and the attention one receives for it) is wandering restlessly to the next victims after having been fixed on one place for one day

This is it for now.

Hi Folks.

In the coming month, many many many live music gigs I want to attend will take place in my region.

The upside:
I will hopefully see/hear Sigur Rós (tickets bought), Roisin Murphy (will buy soon), Nils Petter Molvaer (my brother will hopefully buy for me ), Kosheen (for the 2nd time ) and Yann Tiersen.

The downside:
Concerts have become so darn expensive. Why is that so? Have the prices grown so significantly in your country, too? Or is it just a German phenomenon? Anyway, it's crap and will hinder me from getting a new lens all to soon .
Talking about lenses...I think I've once again changed my desired constellation a bit.
At this moment, I own the 18-55mm kit lens and the long schlong 70-200mm 4L lens.
The next lens I'm planning to buy is the Tamron 28-75mm, which is said to have very good optical quality for an unbeatable pricetag (~300€). After that, I'll be saving up (for quite a long time ) for the 10-22mm EF-S Canon ultra-wideangle and the 100mm F2.8 Canon Macro lens.

Why does everything have to be so super expensive?

This is it for now, see you.

Hi Folks.

For the last few weeks, I've almost entirely been listening to guitar/rock music. I've never been fixed on a single genre like electronica or hip-hop/rap but then again, I've never listened to so much music of just one genre : Rock. Maybe it is due to the incredibly huge amount of great music that's coming out these days. I don't know. Anyway, I don't see the need to switch back to 'normal', listening all across my iTunes library (containing music for 4 weeks continiously ) My top spinners these days :

Nada Surf - The Weight is a Gift
Nada Surf - Let Go
Eels - Daisies of the Galaxy
Eels - Shootenanny!
Eels - Souljacker
Fruit Bats - Spelled in Bones
Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth
K's Choice - Cocoon Crash
Mogwai - Happy Songs for Happy People
Mogwai - Rock Action
Mogwai - Ten Rapid
Bloc Party - Silent Alarm
The Beta Band - Heroes to Zeroes
The Beta Band - Hot Shots II
The Beta Band - The Beta Band
Muse - Origin of Symmetry
Radiohead - Kid A
Radiohead - Amnesiac
Radiohead - Hail to the Thief
Tool - Aenima
Tool - Lateralus
Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head
Coldplay - X&Y
Travis - 12 Memories
A Perfect Circle - Mer de Noms
A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step

Still, I like all music that's good . I think it's just a phase detracting from the usual:

Electronica, House, Techno, IDM, Glitch, Noise, Trip Hop, Minimal, Ambient, Drum'n'Bass, Rock, Hard Rock, Metal, Folk, Blues, Jazz, Classic, Hip Hop/Rap, Instrumental Hip Hop/Rap, ...

This is it for now, see you.
I had a great time chilling out in the mediterranean sun, getting drunk with friends also being in my english course, and, first off all, doing many photo sessions with Denise ( =BadTrash ). She was an awesome guide. We went to many extraordinarily cool locations. Let me say two words : Texture Overload!!
Expect many subissions from both her and me.

Hi Folks.

From friday, September 16th to Saturday 24th, I'll be on vacations on Malta.
It's a trip organised by my school (by my english course, to be perfectly exact).
Tomorrow, I'll be getting the Canon 70-200 4L lens so that I can use it on Malta, I can't wait!
I'm also really looking forward to meeting =BadTrash. I can't wait to go on photo sessions with her, since our styles are pretty similar.

This is it for now, see you.

Hi Folks.

I think I have finally decided on my future lens setup.
Although it's highly hypothetical since I do not have sufficient funds (to say the least), I think I finally got a perspective on what to buy in the coming year.

Current Constellation: Canon 20D + EF 18-55mm 3,5-5,6 II
Desired Constellation: Canon 20D + EF-S 10-22mm 3,5-4,5 USM + EF 24-70mm 2,8 L USM + EF 70-200mm 4L USM (every of the lenses costs ~600€, except for the 24-70mm, which costs 1200€ )

The next (the first) lens I'll buy, is the latter. I'm in desperate need of a good tele lens due to the fact that I'm some kinda tele photographer . Seriously, if you look at some photographs I made before the arrival of my 20D, you'll see what I'm talking about. My old Canon G5 had a 35-140mm lens which suited me well. Today, I'm "limited" to 28-88mm (effectively, due to the crop factor of my cam), which isn't fun too long anymore.

I'm hoping to have the bucks together by the time I fly off to malta in two weeks with my english-course. I'm so looking forward to meet =BadTrash !

This is it for now, see you.
Today, my last year at school has started out. At the end of this school year (approx. around april/may), I'll be graduating.

Current breaking news:
Instead of traveling to London together with my English class at school, some fellas decided to switch the destination to Malta due to fears something might happen to them....(An opinion not supported by me, since there is no safe place in the world and I don't want terrorists win over my feelings and hence, decisions about travels I make). The stay will last one week on the island Malta. In mid-september, I'll be lifting off.

Current favorite Videogame:
Killer7 (Gamecube)

Current favorite Music:
Esbjörn Svensson Trio - Viaticum
Eivind Aarset - Electronique Noire
Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth
Buck 65 - Secret House against the World
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
John Coltrane - Blue Train

looking forward to:

The upcoming Boards of Canada and Murcof releases.

This is it for now, see you.
