new featrures coming soon...

i've been slacking lately and have had little time for the good 'ol dA. so please remain calm, more features will happen very soon. except there will be changes. now, the features will show more artists and leave little explanation. I figured the art will speak for itself. I am starting a club of my own right now called ~PhotoTrad "A club for photography and traditional art" it's a little project that I am hoping will attract many artists from different skill levels and have them share ideas and concepts in order to improve their art and sustain quality. I guess you can say the club is still in the larva state right now, so expect to see more a feature will be held for the club and will kick off the official start of the club. so check it out and start submitting right away!

* this deviant is a hard working, book publishing, art genius. but that's just my opinion. his work should be very inspiring to any of you tradtional pen/ink & comic artists out there. a must-see gallery

* this deviant features a spectacular black and white photo gallery as well as a few other pieces that should not go unnoticed

* this deviant has a terrific gallery with some great photos of insects. one of my personal favorite things to photograph. any living creature that can only be captured and fully appreciated with a macro lens is a natural work of art in itself.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* this is yet another deviant which has done a great job with the use of a macro lens as well as a keen eye for color and texture. defiantely worthy of a or two

* and last, but certainly not least, we have this great deviant who already has quite an impressive gallery despite the lack of exposure to the rest of the world.
Most of them, not so pleasant, so I'm not sure how much more I can take. It's pretty much countdown time at this point...I can't wait until my vacation to California. It will be extra rewarding considering I've only had two days off in 3 weeks. that should explain some of my recent madness. In good news, My long anticipated art show was bumped up ahead of schedule by 2 weeks because an artist flaked on his showing. So my display will be up for the whole month instead of 2 weeks! maybe this way I'll be able to sell a few prints... i hope. the only downside to showing early was, I wasnt fully prepared. I just ordered 4 more frames for scratchboard pieces and they came out to $75!!! what a rip off!!!. Oh well, I'm too lazy to go anywhere else...artist discount my ass! in other news, to those of you who replied to my most recent forum and are impatiently awaiting to see who will be featured in my journal...keep waiting! i still have to find time to take care of that, and its amazing enough to me that I have ANY time at all to reply to comments and what not. be sure to see it no later than the first week of September as well as a bunch of new deviations!!! bare with me people!

I have found time amidst the delerium to finally print and frame 6 of my photos for my art show coming up. I printed each one out at 10X15 and matted 3 of them to break up the similarity in size. the other 3 are in just plain frames. yes I know lame, boring, blah, blah, blah. After printing, framing, and matting costs, everything came out to $140.00 Not too bad considering I placed my order yesterday and recieved it today. I have also been able to take a few shots here and there. I hope everyone is liking the new stuff I've been submitting, I have been becoming more familiar with photoshop and all the simple things you can do to your photos to make a huge improvement in it's general presentation. I still have to custom order 4 frames for some scratchboard pieces that I will be displaying. hopefully that happens before it's too late. I will update everyone by late August on how the show goes. Thanks for watching.

This is basically a big THANK YOU to everyone who has replied to my forum posts, fav'd my images, added me to their devwatch, and viewed my gallery. my pageviews, favs and watch list have all doubled in the last week alone! I've been putting some major hours into my DA account lately and it feels great to see it finally paying off. Also I would like to take the time to announce that my gallery will exploding with photography starting in mid August. You see, I will be getting a scanner finally and I have been dying to submit some of my non-digital photography. So, needless to say theres a lot of photos I have to go through. I'm gonna be a busy guy for a while. Once again, THANK ALL OF YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!!

Thanks to all that view my gallery and actually enjoyed it.

I don't know how I pulled that off but it's quickly becoming crunch time and I still need to decide which photos to display, make prints, get frames, print flyers and still be able to afford rent and everthing else like that. Pricing is also an issue, I don't want to undersell and I don't want to price too high. At this point I'm not sure if I can even give my photos away, let alone sell them. But I'm going to do my best. until then, any reccomendations on what prints any of you think would sell and for how much, would be a great deal of help. this is pretty funny considering nobody will read this and I am basically talking to myself. But thats why it's a journal right? right. Also, my standpoint here at DA isn't nearly as good as I need it to be. I have less than 200 pageviews and no devwatchers. Yay for me!!! Granted, I've been a fully active member for maybe a month. Even though my info says i've been a member for a couple years, there was a huge period of time where I was without a computer.
But now I'm back and hungry for production and positive results. In the mean time, I'm going to be viewing a lot of other deviants, trying to soak up all the artistic inspiration I possibly can. As well as working on attaining the exposure I need to go to the next level, and maybe sell some art finally.

Thanks to all that view my gallery and actually enjoyed it.
